WELP, gents. We have reached this point yet again that I must partake in outside council for how to move forward with the next chapter of the story, for I have poo brain and writers block.
I like to keep things fun but not usually having things be a complete one sided fight, but the problem I've currently placed myself in is that Team Prophet practically BOARD WIPES Team Gwyndolin with relative ease!
Keeping the game logic in mind, Siegmeyer and Solaire could probably take on Seath's army, including the boar and the Lesser Moonlight Butterfly with just the two of them. Hell, they could probably storm the Dukes Archives and wreck the place. Cresty, Mildred and the others are just the cherry on top. And now VELKA's HEALED and YURIA is a fed Darkwraith.
Oh, and if anyone touches' Anastacia, their gonna get bisected by either Yuria or Velka.
The only thing that I things the opposing teams has going for them on their boards is Seath's immortality if he decides to intervene himself, which makes him basically unkillable while he can also curse undead with his dragon breath. Gwyndolin isn't completely knocked out of the fight just yet and can provide support, and Ornstein and Smough (Who I plan to buff a bit) aren't anything to scoff at.
But the biggest, and my favorite thing to currently write about is the conflict between feral Priscilla and what is meant to be a more evolved Prophet. I want the two of them going at it to feel impactful, like how one might imagine Lord Soul bearers fighting would result in a great deal of destruction on a cataclysmic scale. That means I want priscilla to be stronger, more scales forming on her body, dragon horns, muscle mommy physic (?), the works! And I want Kaylen to be...Dammit, I'm still working out the kinks on how I want him to go and the direction I'm going to take with him.
SO my biggest issues are making the opposing sides to Team Prophet have more than a small fighting chance so that things aren't boring and too one sided. And giving Priscilla vs Kaylen a solid playout to where they both really show what their made of. (Especially the Prophet as I want the newfound harmony he's found with the voice within him to actually mean something substantial beyond just bit of dialogue between them.)
So if you guys have any ideas to throw my way to give me a hand on things, I'd Definity be ready to listen.
My current ideas range from giving Gwyndolin a scene of him climbing the spiral staircase to confront Kaylen and Priscilla, before showing guts and resolve to push his body to it's limits, even if it's breaking him down, to will illusions of maybe Peak Gwyn and the Witch of Izalith to put them both down. (This idea would require a TON of interpretations and "Lord Soul" level attacks, so you can imagine it could be epic if done right.)
As well as give Ornstein and Smough a showing of showing their own resolve to not go down without a fight, even if they might be outmatched against Kaylen or Priscilla. Really show the skill of the legendary Dragon slayer and the raw might of the Executioner. (This is before even considering which one of them may or may not get Phase two to carry on the fight.)
Another Idea is having Seath call forth the Greater Moonlight Butterfly from the Darkroot Garden, who would be substantially stronger than the Lesser ones he's already called upon, to lay waste to basically everyone. (This idea isn't the worst, but I'm starting to think I might be putting to many cooks in the kitchen in this fight and think its appearance might cause things to drag on longer than it needs too.)
Hm. And speaking of Seath, as many people in this fight are undead, I've been playing around with the idea of Seath getting the upper had on EVERYONE with his Crystals being able to "infect" the bodies and souls of undead to control them. After all, he already has undead crystal hollows, so it's Definity possible and would add more stakes to things.
Okay, okay, last idea! And this is really me throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks. Siegmeyer and maybe a few tag alongs fight through the dukes Archives and the Crystal Cave, maybe a few die to Seath's cursed breath/get infected with Seath's crystals or just die to the Crystal knight general (Only real legends remember him and if he is included I plan to buff him into a glass cannon), only for at least ONE of them to make it to the Primordial crystal and destroys it along with his archives. Making Seath desperate as he would now be mortal, has no further notes or knowledge to work from which means he's back at square one and his only means left of attaining immortality lies in his only subject: Freaking Priscilla.
In other words, I'd make Seath desperate beyond words.
As you can see, I have a LOT of ideas, but I'm having trouble sticking to one and rolling the ball with it.
So what do you guys think? Anybody got any words to chime in with to give me a bit of a hand on how to move forward? There are no bad ideas.
