Good evening,

I hope you enjoy the final part of this AU. Next week, I will post the first part of a multiple part AU.

Oxford Not Brogues

Ghosts from the Past

Part Three

It had been a few days since the three monsters had visited Seras' childhood home. For those couple of days, Seras had mostly kept a distance from them, needing to be alone to mourn all over again. It was evident to Alucard and Sebastian how deeply upset she was that she was unable to find her parents. Even though they didn't say anything, they knew she was crying in her room early in the mornings. The dark haired males did their best to obey her wishes and respect her space, but they also did their best to be supportive and present for her. It was no easy task trying to do both.

Usually by the end of the night, after giving her hours of alone time, they would visit her. Depending on her mood, the three would talk anywhere between a few minutes to a few hours. One morning, Alucard and Sebastian ended up sleeping the day away with her; the first time they were able to rest beside their mate. It had been incredibly soothing and satisfying for each of them. Seras had even fallen asleep with a smile on her face, something they hardly saw anymore.

Unfortunately, last night Seras was not in the mood for company. Alucard and Sebastian had seen that she was on the brink of bawling and knew that she was waiting for them to leave so she could cry freely. They were desperate to stay beside her. They wouldn't have uttered a word; just sit with her and let her cry. Perhaps hold her hand, rub her back, or hug her if she needed it. But the males were forced to respect that Seras simply needed time alone, so…they regrettably left her.

Since twice he had failed to help his mate find closure, Sebastian was haste to research ways humans normally found closure. However, every time he discovered a new way that he wanted her to try, Seras refused to listen. She would brush him off and tell him that she was fine, but he knew it was a clear lie. Why wouldn't she just let him help her? He was frustrated with the whole situation, but he didn't have the courage to direct an ounce of that anger at her. How could he? What kind of mate would he be? She may be fighting him every step of the way, but that's only because she was in denial that she was mourning all over again after reopening old wounds. She refused to believe that she had reexperienced a very traumatic event.

Why was she so stubborn to accept a little help from him? What was there for her to be ashamed of? Nothing! Yet, she felt nothing but shame, anger, and anguish. Instead of dealing with what she felt, she was instead trying to bury it and pretend it never happened. It wasn't healthy! How can he get through to her? Sebastian sighed heavily and frowned deeply in disappointment. How can he help her? He felt as if he failed her as a mate. He was bloody useless and clueless.

Alucard hardly slept that morning. Much like the demon, he worried about Seras. The No Life King had half a mind to tell her the full truth about her parents' spirits. But in doing that, he feared that would only make things worse. What if it tarnished the relationship Seras had with her parents? Or what if her father was vocal about his feelings on his daughter becoming a monster? Alucard worried that Seras would backtrack even more instead of making any progress and finding closure. What would help and what will make things worse?

It was an incredibly long day for both monsters. All day long they ached to go and comfort their mate, but in case she finally did fall asleep, they didn't want to bother her. Eventually, when night fell, Sebastian woke Alucard from his restless sleep and both men went to check on Seras. If their mate knew of what they discovered, she probably would have burst into tears all over again. Entering her room, they found Seras lying on her side fast asleep in her bed. Next to her, lying on her side so she was face to face with her daughter, was Seras' mother. The blonde woman had such a warm smile on her face as she lovingly stroked her daughter's cheek. The fledgling's father was sitting at the table in the center of the room. He was leaning forward in the chair with his elbows on his knees and his fingers buried in his hair. The man looked mentally exhausted as he stared blankly at the floor. Would the man ever come around and see that Seras was still the same person? Still his daughter? Or would he forever resent her for her choice?

When hearing the bedroom door open, the mother bolted up straight in bed as the father calmly lifted his head. Seras' mother vanished immediately upon seeing Alucard and Sebastian. However, the father stopped to stare at the men. There was a clear look of anger in his hard gaze, but, to their surprise, there was a flicker of understanding and maybe even gratitude. Though, he hardly let it show. Looking them up and down for a moment, the father clicked his tongue before glancing over at his sleeping daughter. The look in his eyes softened considerably.

"She hasn't changed." Sebastian spoke, needing to tell the stubborn man who refused to believe what happened to her was actually a good thing. "She's still Seras." A frown formed on the father's face.

"I know," The man whispered, sounding as if he was full of regret for the way he's acted these last several months. The father then shifted his head to look back at the dark haired males. "You both had the power to save her. You didn't have to shoot or turn her. You did it because you're self centered, sadistic monsters."

"Think what you want, but your daughter is stronger than she's ever been." Alucard responded. "She's immune to sickness and disease. And one day, when she drinks my blood and becomes so much more, she'll be invincible. Your daughter will live a very long life."

"Wouldn't most parents want that for their child?" Sebastian questioned with a quirked brow. When throwing that in his face, Jonathan scoffed and lowered his gaze to glare at the floor.

"Of course I want her to live a long lifespan. I want her to be strong, confident, and, above all, happy. But if her soul is the price for that…" The father was interrupted.

"Would you rather her be depressed, weak, and living a miserable life?" Sebastian asked with a look of fury in his eyes. "Her soul may be the price, but at least she'll live a fruitful, happy life. Besides, when she does perish and is sent to hell, I can assure you that Alucard and I will be there. We will protect and love Seras now, centuries from now, and even after death." The father merely shook his head at what he was hearing.

"I can look past what she is. I can even come to terms that her soul is damned, but I still have my doubts about you two." Jonathan lifted his head to look at Alucard and Sebastian. "How do I know what you say is true? How do I know if you truly love her or that you won't abandon her a few years from now when you find a new girl to play with?"

"Only time will tell," The demon whispered. "But we speak the truth."

"What reason would we have to lie about such a thing?" Alucard asked angrily.

"If you don't care what I think, then why are you getting so worked up?" Jonathan questioned him. "Could it be that you're worried that if you don't have my approval, Seras will question the relationship she has with you both? That is…if we ever decide to show ourselves to her."

"Shouldn't us being concerned be proof enough that we do love your daughter?" Sebastian asked. The father paused to study the monsters. There was such a look of curiosity in his eyes while he stared at them.

"Perhaps," He whispered after a moment. "But I suppose only time will tell." The man then disappeared, leaving them alone with the sleeping fledgling. The demon's gaze flickered towards his mate. She slept ever so soundly. Having dealt with a lot these last few days, she hasn't had a good day of sleep for a while. It definitely eased his mind a little knowing that she finally got some rest. Quietly, Sebastian moved across the room to carefully sit on the edge of the bed.

"Seras," The demon whispered before he buried his fingers in her soft hair. Leaning over her, he pressed his lips to her temple. "Darling," He called to her, hoping his voice would lead her back to reality. "Seras," The Draculina shifted in bed before opening her eyes.

"Sebastian," She whispered tiredly. Leaning back, Sebastian gave her a tender smile.

"Did you sleep well?" He asked softly. Slowly, a smile appeared on his mate's face

"I did," Seras answered. "I slept great."

"Good," He whispered as he proceeded running his fingers through her hair.

"I know that you don't want to hear it, but you can't keep burying your feelings, Draculina." Alucard spoke while he leaned back against the wall and crossed his arms over his chest. The demon moved over a little as Seras sat up in bed. The little vampire rubbed over her eyes while her master proceeded. "And you can't keep pushing us away."

"What?" The girl muttered as her hands shot away from her face to look over at him. There was such a wounded, shameful look in her eyes. "Have I been pushing you guys away?" Immediately trying to comfort her, Sebastian cupped the side of her face.

"Oh, Seras." The demon responded softly. She didn't even realize what she was doing. He frowned sympathetically while he brushed his thumb over her warm cheek. "Alucard and I understand when you may need alone time, and we'll respect that. However, you…have the tendency of pushing us away and requesting time alone at the worst possible times."

"I don't understand," Seras admitted.

"Seras, you recently went through something traumatic. Instead of trying to deal with it or talk it through with us, you bury your feelings and send us away so you can…cry yourself to sleep." Sebastian whispered. "That isn't healthy, darling. You need closure. But whenever I try helping you to find closure, you push me away. Let us help you. Or at least let us be there to comfort you. It'll make things slightly easier for you." The Draculina lowered her gaze for a moment to stare at the sheets. At first, there was nothing but shame and embarrassment in her eyes. But gradually that vanished to be replaced with joy. A small smile appeared on her lips before she glanced back up at Sebastian.

"I'm really sorry that I've been pushing you and Master Alucard away." Seras apologized as the smile on her face grew. Boldly, the little vampire cupped the demon's cheek causing his eyes to go wide in bewilderment. Her hand was so soft and warm against his flesh, making his heart go wild in his chest. He wanted nothing more but to tell her how much he loved her, but he kept his mouth shut so she could continue to speak freely. "I think I'm ready for your help; I'm ready to find closure." Her eyes were practically sparkling now while she caressed his cheek with her thumb. "I had…a revelation of sorts this morning."

"What sort of revelation, my dear?" Alucard asked.

"I realized that I've been incredibly selfish." Seras responded. "The last few days I've been so broken up that my parents weren't here. I considered that they might be hiding because they hated me and were deeply disappointed. I've been crying like a spoiled child because I couldn't find my parents. Shouldn't I be happy that they're not here?! I should be thrilled knowing that my parents found peace and are in heaven. I am thrilled. I'm so happy for them. Knowing that they are at peace…it's really helped me, but I know that finding closure will take some time. I would greatly appreciate it if you helped me, Sebastian."

"Of course, darling." The demon agreed.

"Thank you," The Draculina whispered as she leaned in. Sensing that she may be leaning in to kiss him, Sebastian started to lean in as well. However, before their lips could meet, they were interrupted by an unwelcome guest.

"You simpleton, everyone has been lying to you." A familiar, deep voice reached her ears. Alucard and Sebastian's eyes widened when someone threatened to reveal the entire truth to her. Seras shifted her head to look across her room, discovering the Professor standing there with a large grin on his face. Such amusement shone in those intense blue eyes of his. "Your precious mates have been conspiring with your dead parents." Before he could continue, he was interrupted by the infuriating Draculina he despised so much.

"What the fuck are you talking about?" Seras asked, using an aggressive tone while she glowered at him. "That's absolute bollocks!" Her pretty blue eyes shifted to a magnificent fiery red. "God, I hate you so much. Why don't you just piss off and leave us alone?"

"Seras," Sebastian intervened as he gently pushed the side of her face so she was forced to look back at him. "Mind your temper. Remember, ignore him; don't provoke him."

"Your parents are very much here, but hiding from you like cowards. Your mates know and have been keeping the truth from you." The Professor went on, trying to get under her skin.

"But what is he on about, Sebastian? Why is he trying to turn me against you?" Seras asked as she did her best to ignore that vile man.

"Your parents aren't at peace. They're not in heaven, you foolish girl." The Professor added, finally capturing the Draculina's full attention.

"Shut up!" The little vampire snarled as she bared her sharp, intimidating fangs at him. Seras shot off her bed to walk across the room towards the tall man. "Just shut the fuck up! Don't you dare talk about my parents!"

"Seras," Alucard spoke as he quickly caught up to her to latch onto her wrist. Before things could escalate, the elder vampire stepped between her and the Professor. "Ignore him. He's trying to get a rise out of you."

"Don't you want to know why your parents have been hiding?" The Professor asked as he approached the two foul vampires.

"You need to learn how to ignore spirits. They will only haunt you more if you interact with them. Right now you're giving him all the attention he wants. Stop and ignore him, Draculina." Her master lectured her, but it was hard teaching a student who wouldn't listen.

"Wouldn't you like to know what your father truly thinks of you? How revolted he is by what you are?" The Professor went on. For a split second, the fledgling's demeanor changed. Her face paled in a sickly way as a look of absolute horror and pain appeared in her eyes. Alucard knew instantly that Seras believed the Professor, even if it was for a brief moment. He had successfully hit her where it truly hurt. But as quickly as that look appeared, it was gone to be replaced with such intense fury that the elder vampire was concerned she would release her demon and wreak havoc. The dark red in her irises absorbed every bit of white in her eyes while she gritted her sharp teeth. In that moment, she truly looked like a fierce monster from the deepest pits of hell. Using very little of her strength, she managed to push Alucard aside so she could face the Professor.

"OH, JUST SOD OFF, YOU LYING ARSEHOLE!" Seras yelled with tears in her eyes. "I HATE YOU SO FUCKING MUCH!" Giving a heavy sigh, Sebastian dropped his head into his hand and shook it in disappointment.

"Good work not losing your temper, Seras." The demon muttered sarcastically, but was ignored by his enraged mate.

"YOU'RE SPREADING THESE FILTHY LIES ABOUT MY MATES AND PARENTS! AND WHAT FOR?! TO TURN ME AGAINST THEM?! IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN, YOU BARMY OLD BASTARD!" Seras screamed at the vampire hunter. The Draculina was stunned when the back of the Professor's hand met with her cheek. Warmth and pain spread through her stinging, swelling cheek as her head snapped to the side from the force.

"Seras!" Sebastian exclaimed before he ran to her side. Gingerly, he pinched her chin between two fingers as he cupped the side of her face that wasn't swelling. He then inspected the welt that started to form on her cheek.

"Damn you!" Alucard snarled at the Professor.

"I may not be able to drive a stake through your black heart, but I can strike you. Test me again, Draculina. I don't care if you are a woman, I am not opposed to hitting a vampire." The vampire hunter spoke as he glared at the fledgling and demon. "Surprised, jij dwaas meisje? Have your dear mates not warned you that powerful entities are capable of physically interacting with those on your plane? I have been an entity for nearly a hundred years. I am more powerful than you think. Cross me again and I'll reintroduce you to the back of my hand." Furious, Seras finally turned her head to look back at the vampire hunter.

"Seras, please stop." Sebastian begged her when realizing that she wouldn't give up so easily. "He's a spirit. Alucard and I can't…" The demon shook his head as he became reluctant and shameful to even finish that sentence. He was her mate and he couldn't even protect her. This was out of their power. "I'm sorry." He whispered as he stroked her hair. "Please stop, Seras. Please."

"Why should I just let him win and walk all over me?" Seras asked.

"What?" The demon murmured.

"I don't care what he's capable of. I won't let him slander you, Alucard, or my parents!" She promised. "He's a sad, old man that has nothing better to do but spread filthy lies just to see me squirm. It's quite pathetic really."

"Really? You're calling me pathetic?" The Professor scoffed, looking slightly amused beneath that anger. "You were unable to cope being human. You sacrificed your soul to become this monster. Tell me, Draculina, was it truly worth it? In my eyes, anyone who turns their back on God is an absolute fool; a heathen that should be put down like a filthy, rabid dog. You are the pathetic one, not I."

"This life was not her choice." Sebastian intervened as he grimaced at the vampire hunter. "She was dying. Alucard chose and acted for her. Seras would have never chosen this life."

"And if I recall, when I forced my blood down Mina Harker's throat and tainted her blood with my own, you weren't quick to pierce her heart with a stake." Alucard added, setting the vampire hunter off.

"She did not turn her back on God!" The Professor screamed as he balled his hands into tight fists. "You victimized that poor girl! Tried desecrating her soul and purity, like the horrid monster you are! But young Mina was far too virtuous to be corrupted by the likes of you! She was strong and fought off your diseased blood just long enough for us to save her and drive a stake deep into your heart, Count!" He pointed a finger at Alucard as the fury burned fiercely in his eyes. "Do not ever speak her name again!" The Professor then pointed that finger at the fledgling.

"Is that why you turned this idiotic girl? She reminds you of her?" The vampire hunter asked. "The love you thought you felt for Mina was nothing more but a sick, twisted fantasy! You and I both know you are incapable of love! And this girl you dragged into your world to fulfill your little fantasy, she is not Mina! She is not virtuous or warm or kind. She does not bring light to the darkness. She is the darkness. She is everything that is wrong with humanity; an optime of weakness, greed, wrath, and all the ugliness of humanity."

"You're wrong!" Alucard roared. "Seras is angelic! She's pure, tender, loving, and has an incredibly warm heart and soul! And, unlike Mina, she is unbelievably and admirably strong!"

"Strong?" The Professor scoffed. "You are truly delusional, Count! She has proven to be weak in many different areas; physically, mentally, and spiritually. She doesn't even know that she has been lied to on multiple occasions. Your mate is a weak twit."

"The only one who has been lying to me is you!" Seras corrected the man.

"Actually, I'm the only one who has been honest with you." The vampire hunter retorted as he glanced away from the master vampire to look at the fledgling.

"Hypothetically, if you are telling me the truth, what the fuck do you gain from this?!" The Draculina asked. "What would be the point?! To stir up some shit and sabotage our relationship?! To have me second guess everything Alucard and Sebastian say to me from now on?! To get me angry at them?!"

"Precisely," The Professor admitted with a grin. "All of the above. I suppose you're not as dense as I had presumed." The twisted grin on his face widened. "Does it not eat you up on the inside knowing that your precious mates lied about your parents' whereabouts? That they hid that information even after seeing how broken up you were? How you even started to blame yourself?"

"The only thing eating me is how much of a sick bastard you are!" Seras yelled. The hunter's eyes flared with anger and he scowled at her. For the second time, the Professor raised his hand, threatening to backhand her. However, the Draculina was immediately protected. Alucard didn't hesitate stepping between his mate and the hunter, ready to take the blow for her. But what the elder vampire hadn't expected was for Seras' father to appear and grab the Professor tightly by his wrist.

"Don't lay another hand on my daughter!" A familiar voice rang through Seras' ears. The fledgling's eyes flew open wide as her heart skipped a beat. She was unable to see who it was since her master stood in her way.

"That voice," She whispered, earning Sebastian's attention. "I…know that voice." She pressed a hand against Alucard's back, wanting to push him aside, but she couldn't find an ounce of her strength suddenly.

"Take your hand off of me!" The vampire hunter growled while he yanked his arm free.

"Stay the fuck away from her!" The familiar voice responded.

"Dad?" Seras whispered as hot tears pricked at her eyes, blurring her vision. "Dad?" Desperate to see the man who came in her defense, the little vampire grabbed at her master's coat and lightly pulled to manipulate his movement. Alucard willingly took a step back so his mate could maneuver around him to stare up at the tall ghostly man with blonde hair. "Daddy?" The man before her didn't bother to turn and reveal his face, though the girl was fairly certain of his identity. A river of tears flowed down her cheeks as she sniffled and hiccuped from crying so hard. "Daddy," Seras reached out a hand to touch his arm, but her hand went right through him. When her hand entered that ice cold mass that made up her father, the small blonde cried a little harder. "Daddy, are you really here?" Still refusing to look at her, the man pointed a finger at the Professor who was currently glowering at him.

"She may not be able to defend herself against you, but remember that you're sharing this spiritual plane with me. Touch my daughter again and you'll have me to deal with. Now get the fuck out." Jonathan spoke calmly before he pointed towards the door. The Professor looked the father up and down several times. He didn't look the slightest bit intimidated by the man, but he didn't look eager to argue or fight with the father either. Not at the moment, at least.

"Now I see where that ill mannered girl gets her foul mouth and temper from." The vampire hunter muttered.

"Out!" Jonathan exclaimed. The vampire hunter didn't bother using the door. He just vanished without a trace. The father then released a heavy sigh of exhaustion and lowered his arm.

"Dad?" His daughter spoke once again, but he was too scared to turn around and face her. What did he do? He was supposed to stay hidden so his daughter could finally let them go and find closure. But after seeing that bloody hunter practically screaming in his daughter's face and raising a hand to hit her for a second time, something just snapped inside of him. But now with the hunter gone, what was he supposed to do? What did he even say? The last time he ever spoke to his daughter, well he was alive and she was nine. His daughter was now fully grown and wondering why he's been hiding himself from her. Unfortunately, before he could figure out what to say or do, his daughter acted. Seras stepped around him to come face to face with him. His sorrowful eyes met with her deep blue ones. Seeing the tears that flowed down her face just about killed him all over again.

"Seras," Jonathan whispered as he looked his daughter up and down. Even after watching her grow up, he still couldn't believe that she was an adult.

"Dad, you're here." Seras muttered as her eyes also took him all in, unable to comprehend seeing her long dead father after all these years. She briefly considered that she might be going mad. Her eyes met with his again. "And…Mum?" The father took a short moment before he lowered his gaze and shamefully answered.

"Hiding," The father whispered. "She…" But he trailed off. How did he even explain this to her?

"Van Helsing was…telling me the truth." The Draculina murmured under her breath. Her eyes then flickered to the side to look at Sebastian. "You and Alucard lied to me…even after you…saw how upset I was?" Her bottom lip quivered and more tears formed in her eyes, but all she expressed was absolute fury. The No Life King and demon both stood there ever so silently. There was a flicker of remorse in their eyes, though they mostly stayed stone faced so as to not show their vulnerability. "And then…you had the chance to…come clean while I fought to defend you both, but…you just…made me look even more stupid in front of the Professor." Seras then scoffed and shook her head in disappointment. "I can't believe he was actually telling me the truth. You both lied to me about my parents. You knew I wanted to see them. You knew I wanted closure. How could you guys do this to me?"

"Honey!" A familiar feminine voice echoed through the room. Seras' head snapped to the side just in time to see the spirit of her mother flit across the room towards her. The anxious looking mother reached out to take her daughter's hand, but only ended up going through her. Instinctively, the Draculina flinched and pulled her hand away from the ice cold air that touched her skin.

"Mum," Seras whispered before her breath hitched in her throat.

"Seras, please don't blame Alucard and Sebastian. They were just respecting my wishes." Morgan stumbled to explain herself.

"What?" The Draculina muttered, looking so lost and confused. She looked at each of them as she waited for someone to reveal the whole truth without any more lies.

"I told them to lie to you." The mother further explained. "They wanted to help you find closure as much as we did. I just thought that it would help you if you didn't see us. I believed that if you…did see us, you would only end up hurt and blame yourself for us never finding peace." Guilt then seeped into the woman's eyes. "But my choice only ended up hurting you anyway. I'm sorry about that, honey."

"I don't care about that." Seras was quick to respond. Shaking her head, she took a step closer towards her deceased parents. "I am just so happy to speak to you. I never thought I…would ever be able to see either of you again. I've missed you both terribly." The little vampire sputtered as she wiped her tears away. Morgan gave her daughter a small, loving smile. Once more she reached out her hand to try and make contact with her daughter. She attempted to touch Seras, but wasn't able to do something as simple as cup her own daughter's cheek. All the Draculina felt was a cold breeze caress her cheek. "I wish that I could hug you." The small blonde fought to not cry harder.

"Me too, honey." The mother whispered. If she was capable of crying, she would be a sobbing mess as well.

"We'll…leave you to talk to your parents." Sebastian hesitantly interrupted. To his surprise, his mate glanced up at him to give a warm smile in his direction.

"I'm sorry that I got mad at you and Alucard earlier." She was quick to apologize.

"I can't blame you for being angry." Alucard answered. "I would have been furious if someone kept that information from me. I think you handled it pretty well."

"I'm sorry we kept it from you." Sebastian apologized as he stepped closer to his mate. "I only want you to find closure. Now that you can speak to them, I hope you can finally find it." The demon then bent down to place a kiss on the top of her head. "Good luck, darling." However, instead of leaving immediately, he turned to face the mother. "If I may, you are fully capable of touching Seras."

"What?" Morgan whispered.

"You've been interacting with physical objects this whole time. You laid in the bed, you stroked her cheek before, your feet are currently planted firmly on the floor, and your husband rested in that chair earlier." Sebastian listed off as he pointed towards one of the chairs at the table.

"Then why can't I touch her now?" The desperate mother asked.

"Because you're worrying and thinking too much." The demon explained. "It's difficult for those who haven't been spirits long. But, overtime, you will learn how to take energy from others and electronics, as well as learn how to manipulate objects and interact with the living."

"Tell me how I can touch her. Please." Morgan begged.

"Calm your racing mind and focus your energy in your hand." Sebastian instructed her. Turning so the mother and daughter could come face to face again, he gestured at Seras. "Try it again." Morgan stared at the demon for a short few seconds, looking uncertain by his instructions. After a moment, she lowered her gaze to look back at her daughter. The nervous woman licked over her lips as she hesitantly raised her hand and reached towards the fledgling. "Focus that energy in your hand." Reaching out further, the mother was stunned when her fingertips met with her daughter's cheek. Both women's eyes lit up and large smiles spread across their faces.

"I feel that!" Seras cried. Sebastian smiled softly when seeing the happiness and excitement on his mate's face.

"Glad that I could help." The demon purred before he stepped away to give his mate time alone with her parents. "Alucard, let's go."

"Thank you!" The mother exclaimed as she happily cupped her daughter's face with both hands. "Oh, God! Thank you!" God? The demon snickered to himself. Alucard and Sebastian left without another word. The dark haired males walked down the dimly lit corridors of the basement, heading further down into the bowels.

"Do you think this will help or hinder her?" Sebastian asked.

"I would like to think that it will help her." Alucard responded.

"Perhaps it will help both parties. Seras will finally find closure and her parents will find eternal peace." The demon considered.

"Either that or…" The elder vampire started but was interrupted.

"Or?" Sebastian murmured, wondering what could possibly be going through his head.

"Seras and her parents can reconnect and be together again." Alucard answered. "Now that her father has had a change of heart, perhaps they will stick around to watch over their daughter."

"And Seras could still achieve closure." The demon added softly. "Rather her parents leave soon or years from now, at least she has been given the chance to communicate with them and say her final goodbyes." A grin then graced Alucard's lips and he chuckled as a thought popped into his head.

"I may not think much of her father, but I do respect that he came to her aid." The elder vampire purred.

"Yes, it's comforting to know that someone on that plane is keeping an eye on her and is capable of stopping any other spirits who may wish our mate harm." Sebastian replied with a twisted smirk. "Hopefully the Professor will have the good sense to stay away from her."

"I'll make sure he stays away from her." A voice came from behind. The dark haired males stopped in the corridor and turned to find Seras' father approaching. The man still looked a little disgruntled after dealing with the Professor, but…for once in their presence, there was a small smile on his face. And did they detect a certain look of understanding in his eyes?

"Why aren't you with Seras?" Sebastian asked with furrowed brows.

"I will be, but I wanted a moment…to speak to you…To the both of you." The father responded. The uncomfortable looking man swallowed his pride and shifted his gaze to stare at the wall. "I don't particularly like either of you and I think you're undeserving of my daughter, but…" He grimaced at what he was about to admit to the men his daughter supposedly loved. "But I…saw how much she truly means to…" Again, he trailed off. "I heard what you said and saw how you acted. I know that…you both…truly love her and will defend and protect her when needed. Again, I still…don't like her being with either of you, but…she could do worse, I suppose. All I want for her is to be safe and happy, and be with someone who does love her. If you can offer Seras all those things, then…I wish you a long life with her." There was the smallest bit of surprise in the monsters' eyes. Even though they didn't ask, expect, or want it from him, was he giving them his consent to 'marry' his daughter?

"I can assure you that we can offer her all those things and more." Sebastian promised.

"Good," The father whispered. "I'm sure you both know that if anything should happen to her, I will hold you both accountable and haunt you for the remainder of your days."

"You can try," The demon snickered. "But we wouldn't let anything happen to Seras ever."

"Anyone who dares even try to harm a single hair on her head will be dealt with." Alucard added with a large, toothy grin on his face. "Probably in the most excruciating way possible."

"Just as long as she's never hurt again, I can look past those monstrous ways of yours." The father admitted. "Anything to protect her."

"Well, it looks like we finally agree on something." Sebastian purred.

The End
