This may get put into a larger story down the line, but I loved this scene too much to not post
It had been barely a week since Tony's brush with death, but he was feeling a lot better, sadly nobody else trusted his opinion when it came to his health. Including the doctors who had instructed him to be on bed rest until they cleared him. He was not happy about it.
Pepper was coming back out of the home office when she saw movement. "Tony, what are you doing?" She asks as she crosses the room towards Tony, who is slowly wandering towards the kitchen. "I wanted to get up for breakfast." He whines and Pepper softens a little, knowing that all the pain meds he was on, had been knocking him out. She glanced at the clock to see the time and was not surprised he was hungry.
Still, he wasn't supposed to be out of bed. "Tony, we've talked about this. The doctors said bed rest for the next week at least. That means you're only getting out of bed for the bathroom." She instructs and takes Tony by the arm and gently leads him back to bed.
"Pep, I'm bored. I want to get out and bed and do something." He whines and Pepper smiles as she settles him back into bed, happy that he doesn't argue at her manhandling. "Well if that's how you feel. I've got just the job for you." She says and dashes out of the bedroom and returns a few moments later with Morgan at her side, who quickly dashes to the bed and climbs up next to her father.
"Daddy, can we watch movies, while mommy works?" She asks excitedly and Tony has to wrap his arms around her and pull her into his side and glares over at Pepper. "This is a dirty trick Pep." He says and Pepper just grins. "Is it working?" She asks as she approaches the side of the bed.
Tony glances down at Morgan and smiles a little at his baby girl. "Yes." He sighs and Pepper smiles brightly, kissing them both. "Then I'll be able to go to work knowing you're in good hands." She says and heads towards the door.
"Morgan, you're in charge, make sure Daddy stays put." Pepper orders and Morgan nods her head quickly at her mother's instructions and throws her arms around her father, anchoring him in place Pepper has to smile, glad that she knows Morgan will do everything she can to keep Tony safe.
She heads out of the room, as Morgan starts debating what to watch with Tony. She heads into the kitchen and puts some food together and then takes it back into the bedroom and puts it on the sideboard, as father and daughter cuddle together watching Disney movies.
Pepper knows it's going to be okay because Tony will do anything for Morgan, and if that means staying in bed like he's supposed to, he will.
