Luz and Lucas entered the house, but instead of an old house, it looked like the inside of a tent but filled with random stuff. "What the hell?" Lucas asked.
"What is this place?" Luz asked as they both heard a voice.
"Oh good you're back. What did you find for me?" A female voice said. The twins look at the door and see the owl being place on a staff and turning into a wooden idol. The woman holding the staff is a middle aged woman with ivory skin, golden yes and maroon lips, wearing a sleeveless, two-tone maroon dress with a ripped hem design and gray leggings. Her jewelry consisted of two orange spherical earrings and an amber spherical ring. For footwear, she wore maroon high-heeled boots and dark green with pale yellow dots bandana around her head covering her ears.
"What the hell?" Lucas asked as Luz gasped.
The woman pulls out a smartphone from the bag. "Garbage." She tossed the smartphone to the side, then pulls out a diamond ring. "Garbage!" She tossed the ring aside. Then she pulled out a golden chalice. "Garbage." She tosses the chalice to the side. "Now this!" The woman pulled out a pair of fake glasses with eyes attached to springs. "This will make me rich."
"How dumb is she?" Lucas whispered.
The woman pulls out a copy of The Good Witch Azura. "But this'll make good kindling." The woman is about to burn Luz's book by a candle until Luz steps out of her hiding place and grabbed her book.
"That's mine. Gotta go bye! Run Lucas!" Luz said as she and Lucas ran towards the doorway, but once they got near it, the door folded up and disappeared.
"You two aren't going anywhere." The woman said as she removed the prop glasses.
Luz and Lucas crawled under the tent and ran off. "Ok we need to find another way back out of here." Lucas said.
But they stopped at the edge of a cliff and looked in shock and awe. "Lucas are you seeing this?" Luz asked.
The twins look ahead and they see a town, but it wasn't an ordinary town, it was made out of random monster parts like hands, eyeballs and various monster parts making up the town. They look around the town below and see that the citizens weren't human, they were monstrous. There were ice creams that wanted people to eat people. Giant birds flying around, giant heads walking around. Even a giant bug with a human face kissed a weird pink fly going to work.
"This can't be happening." Luz said.
"Are we even in Connecticut anymore?" Lucas asked. But then a purple fairy flies up to the two.
"Oh hi there little fairy. You're gonna tell us this is all a dream right?" Luz asked.
"GIVE ME YOUR SKINS!" The fairy demanded as she revealed her large razor sharp teeth.
The twins screamed as they ran away from the fairy. "Tinker Bell has a taste for human flesh!" Lucas shouted.
"Where are we? Did we die? Are we in hell?" Luz questioned as she was panting.
"Sure looks like it." Lucas replied. "But where's the guy in charge?"
"That's her with a capital H." The woman said as she placed two hands on the twins' shoulders. They were dragged back to the woman's stand.
"We're so sorry. My sister just wanted her book back and I tagged along to help her." Lucas said as he chuckled nervously.
"Yeah we just came for my book. Please don't eat us." Luz said.
"Eat you? Why would I want to eat potential customers." The woman revealed a sign that says Human Collectibles written in red on a yellow background and spread out on the table are items that were from Earth.
"Is she selling useless junk?" Lucas thought.
"May I offer you kids a human foot with holes?" The woman said as she held up a green croc. "A bar of human candy?" She held up a bar of deodorant. "Oh how about a box that contains only sadness." The woman held a portable tv and twins' reflections are shown.
Luz lets out a laugh which confuses the woman. "That's not all it can do." Luz said as she grabs two AA batteries from a bowl that had a sign that says "Human Candy." Then she places the batteries into the tv and 80s exercise video began to play.
"How did you know that?" Lucas asked.
"I found one in the attic like that. But it had some old Sci-fi movie i never heard of. I forgot the name." Luz said.
The twins looked and see a bunch of creatures are drawn to the TV. "So what do you guys of the Screaming box?" Lucas asked as the creature all threw their coins at it wanting to buy it.
"How much for the tiny human?" One creature asked.
"What were your names?" The woman asked.
"I'm Luz. Luz Noceda." Luz introduced.
"I'm her twin brother Lucas." Lucas introduced.
"Well you two are pretty clever for a pair of humans." The woman asked.
"Um you're human too. Right?" Lucas asked.
"Yeah that's kind of a weird thing for another human to say." Luz said.
"Oh dear children." The woman said as she removed her bandanna revealing her pointy ears and a pair of gold earrings. "I am Eda the Owl Lady! The most powerful Witch in all of the Boiling Isles!" Eda said.
"Whoa a witch!?" Luz gasped.
"Witches are real?" Lucas questioned.
"I am a respected, feared.-"
"Busted!" A voiced shouted as a fist slams down on the TV smashing it to pieces, scaring away the other creatures. It was a large guard with black and white garments with a silver cone face mask, where his eyes are shown. "Eda the Owl Lady you are wanted for misuse of magic and demonic misdemeanors." He said as he held up a wanted poster.
"She's a witch criminal." Lucas said.
"You are hearby ordered to come with me to the Conformatorium." The guard said as he grabbed Eda by the wrist. But she freed herself from his grip.
"Will you guys stop following me around. I didn't do squat." Eda said.
Then the guard grabbed the Noceda twins. "You two are coming with me for fraternizing with a criminal." The Guard said.
Luz then kicked the guard in the nuts, the guard groans in pain as he released the twins. "Eat hot sauce!" Lucas shouted as he splashed some hot sauce on the guard's eyes as he screamed in pain
"You had hot sauce in your pocket?" Luz asked.
"No it was on the table." Lucas said.
The hot sauce flew back to the table as the tablecloth collects the items as it was surrounded in a golden aura. "Whoops. Can't forget about this." Eda said as she pulled out a key as she pressed a button on the key as the door turned into a case and flew towards Eda and it joined the tablecloth. "Follow me humans!" Eda said as she ran off as the Noceda twins followed her.
"This is crazy." Lucas said. "If we die here, our mom is gonna kill us."
"She would kill us again." Luz said.
"I won't let 'em hurt you. Humans like you two are much more valuable alive than dead." Eda said. Then the owl on her staff opens its wings as the three go on the staff. "Hang on tight kids." Eda said they flew away.
"You won't get away Owl Lady!" The guard shouted as he shook his fist. "Yeah, all right. You did. You got away with it. She got away everyone! Typical!"
"You can open your eyes now humans." Eda said.
Luz and Lucas both opened their eyes and Luz gasped at the sight of the landscape. "We need some answers. Flying staffs, crazy monsters, you're a wanted criminal. What is this place?" Luz asked.
"This is the Boiling Isles." Eda said.
"The Boiling Isles? That sounds like someone just came up with that name just now."
"Watch your tongue boy!" Eda protested.
The twins look at their surroundings and see red trees, the sky is violet and the mountains look like ribs. "This place looks different from Earth." Luz said.
"Every myth you humans have come from our world." Eda said. Then a Griffin flew next to them and cawed.
"A griffin! It looks like the one I made!" Luz said and then it barfs up spiders which gets Lucas to cringe a bit. "I knew it."
"So are gorgons, Minotaurs, and monsters from Greek, Norse and other myths real?" Lucas asked.
"Oh yeah they're real. Those monsters, griffins, vampires and giraffes are real." Eda said.
"Giraffes?" The twins asked.
"Yeah long story short we banned those guys many years ago. Bunch of weirdos." Eda said as they landed. The three got off of the staff, but Eda's hand was still on the staff scaring the twins.
"Oh that happens when you get older." Eda said as she grabbed her hand and reattached it. "Now follow me humans." Eda then had the sack of items float in the air. Luz and Lucas look ahead and see a large house add out of bricks with a blue roof, a large stained glass window that resembles a large eye, a crumbling tower with orange moss growing on the side.
"Aren't you worried about the guards finding you?" Luz asked.
"Yeah do you have a back up plan?" Lucas asked.
"No need my house has a state of the art defense system." The three walked towards the door with an owl face on it.
"Hoot-Hoot. Password please." The Owl face said with a high pitched voice. But instead of a password, Eda pokes it in the eyes.
"We don't have time for this Hooty. Now open up." Eda said.
"Alright! Alright! You let me have any fun! Hoot." Hooty said as he opened his mouth wide into the shape of the door as the three entered the house. Hooty closed his mouth and let out a small burp.
"Welcome to the Owl House." Eda said as she snapped her fingers and the house begins to light up. The house was bigger on the inside than the outside, a fire lit up as a wooden spoon floated up and was stirring the cauldron, candles lit up, a broom started sweeping the floor, large artworks of owls lit up as well. The twins look and they see a couch along with Eda's artifacts and a huge wanted poster of Eda.
"This is where I get away from the pressures of modern life. Also the cops, and e boyfriends." Eda said.
"So you live by yourself?" Lucas asked but before he can get an answer, the house started rumbling.
"Actually I have a roommate." Eda said in a deadpan voice while crossing her arms.
"Who dares intrude upon I," A loud booming voice is heard but as it got closer it started to get loud and annoying. "The king of Demons."
The "King of Demons" was a wolf cub with dark grey fur, light grey fur on his belly and the tip of his tail. He has three fingers on each hand and two toes on his feet, both resemble claws. He's wearing a white skull with one right horn and the left horn is broken, he has pink eyes and yellow scleras. He is wearing a red collar with a golden name tag. But he has a ducky towel wrapped around his waist and holding a tubby ducky.
Luz gasped as her eyes widened. "Ay, que lindo!" Luz exclaimed in Spanish as she ran and hugged the King of Demons. "Eda he's a so cute! Who's a widdle guy? Who's a widdle? Is it you? It is you?" Luz gushed and she hugs the little demon.
"No! I don't know who your widdle guy is?!" He exclaimed. "Eda who this monster?!"
"So he's a Kubone?" Lucas asked with a deadpan look on his face.
Eda grabs Luz to hold her back. "Oh this Luz and Lucas the humans. Humans this is King." Eda introduced as she released Luz. "They're here to fix our problem."
King's eyes widened and smiled. "Oh goodie." King jumped with joy.
"Wait problem?" Lucas question. "What problem?"
"What's this problem?" Luz asked concerned.
"Let me explain." Eda said as she formed a circle which made a golden circle which showed images as Eda talked. "You see King was a mighty king of demons, until his crown of power was stolen which is why he looks like this."
Luz is hugging King with a smile on her face "You mean this little bundle of joy?" Luz asked.
"You mean a Pokémon." Lucas smirked as Luz and King glared at him.
"The crown is being held by Warden Wrath and locked behind a magical barrier that only a human can walk through." Eda said as the image disappeared. "If you two help us get King's crown we'll send you kids home. You're our hope kids. Who can say no to this little face?" Eda asked as she picked up King and showed him in front of the twins.
"So we have to help you and King get a crown out of a vault?" Lucas asked.
"Sounds like it could be dangerous." Luz said.
"Luz and I need to talk it over." Lucas said.
"No time to talk about it." Eda said as she grabbed the twins by the wrists and dragged them out. "Let's go."
King walked up to his rubber ducky and picked it up. "Soon Mr. Ducky, we will drink the fear of those who mocked us." King said as he dropped the rubber Ducky and ran outside.
