Pre story AN: Hiro and Cyber here we just want to thank those that are reading this whole mess we call a fanfiction… Your words are the balm and the cure we need for this nightmare of research, data matching, and the bomb in the corner called "what if'' we don't talk about that bomb it talks to us.
Hiro: I am aiming to try and keep to a bi weekly schedule. Giving, hopefully, enough time to write things out, correct and do any additional research into weapon systems, how additional parties will react. Or in the case of this chapter. Can the Barbatos even FIT inside of the storage bay of the Normandy. Along with a knightmare frame and the VOTOMS. Answer is yes. Then there is the whole situation that is Lelouch and him having both a code and Geass.
Cyber: we checked the game math and wiki math. The fitting can happen just not very practical for deployment for Barbatos…. -holds up dead calculator.- this thing blew up on me from how much crunching i did.. Also the psych theories on Lelouch alone are staggering. I don't want to add C.C into the mx and you can't make me do so again!
Hiro: However, to respond to the reviews. That encouragement is like a shot in the arm, making the late nights (that's just when my creative mind is active) very much worth it. I will strive to keep going. Still have to fully formulate exactly how the likes of Didarion, the brave police, and other Super intelligent AI. Anyways that's enough out of us for now. On with the story!
Cyber: please enjoy this brain-fruit!
Chapter 4: New allies and strange times
"Executive Officer Lawson, Have you lost your mind?" Chakwas said sternly as she pushed past the shocked Atra. The doctor moved to look at the young man now with a broken neck.
"Doctor. He'll be quite fine." The green haired girl, C.C, said with a smile.
"I'm afraid his neck is broken, Miss." Chakwas blinked as she watched the green haired girl wrench his neck back into position. "What are you…"
"Doctor. You don't have experience with people like Lelouch or I. I do. Death is more of an inconvenience than anything else. I've taken more than a few bullets for my warlock." C.C said simply as she waited, lightly holding his cheeks.
"It's physically impossible for him to…" Miranda started to counter before she fell silent at the prep school student hissing in pain and annoyance as he came to.
"Neck broken number fourteen. That…I will never get used to. It is a very unpleasant feeling. Please refrain from such actions in the future. Next time might take me longer then…" He glanced at his watch. "Five seconds. Huh. Interesting."
"How in the hell…" Mess sergeant Rupert questioned as he looked up from his stove. "Did Jesus reincarnate and pay us a visit when I wasn't looking?"
"No. If anything I would be more of an equivalent to Judas." Lelouch groaned while rubbing his sore neck.
"Well either way. Fuck me. Glad I don't have to write this report." Rupert retorted, getting a chuckle out of Garrus.
"If all's well and good. Disperse. I now have Another patient that I need to check up on. With me, Young Man." Doctor Chakwas said firmly while grasping Lelouch by his ear and leading both Orga and the emperor to the medbay.
"I assure you doctor I am fine."
"Just accept your fate Lelouch." C.C teased after him before turning back to Miranda. "You're actually quite lucky he understands the power of the king as well as he does now Miss Lawson."
Miranda huffed while giving the green haired witch a confused glare.
"I have to write an incident report anyways. Try to stay out of trouble. And Jacob. I don't want to hear it." The Executive officer sighed before walking swiftly to her quarters.
Shepard sighed as she thought about how to word the rather large "request" from the council. She looked at the Manilla envelopes she still had in her hand and sighed. She really wanted Liara with her right now in order to vent to her properly about the growing headache. The door to her cabin opened up and she spied the message light blinking on her personal console.
"Of course. Hopefully it's not TIM trying to ask for a report." Shepard sighed in annoyance. The commander of The Normandy let out a frustrated grunt as she sat into her chair, the leather creaking ever so lightly as she let her first contact package hit the desk. "EDI. Ask Captain Mitsuba to forward us any declassified footage she can. As much as she can."
"Right away Shepard. And the reason why?"
"Half because I'm interested and the other half is so I'm not coming across as a raving lunatic. Toss in our approach to the Dreikruz as well." Shepard replied while opening up her email.
"Specter Operative Shepard, at your earliest convenience the council would like a word in person. - Counselor D. Anderson." Jane had to smile lightly to herself before shaking her head. The former alliance soldier promptly wrote up a reply, she encrypted the file before sending it through a Specter channel reserved for classified material. She kept her wording vague enough while stressing the importance of the matter she wished to discuss.
"So EDI. While I'm typing this up. Thoughts on our whole situation?" Shepard asked while inputting words onto her haptic interface.
"Regarding first contact? It is an anomaly. My sensors register an abnormality periodically in the dormant relay. The next scan I sent to ping it though. It is gone. Whatever brought the Dreikruz to our universe. Does not want to be found. And yet at the same time, it is being provocative. Taunting." The AI replied. "Without more information I can only speculate based on our known theories of quantum physics."
"This doesn't smell of Reapers either." Shepard paused. "This smells so much like a latrine, and I can't find the source. Can you do some research into deep space exploration? I want to check something."
"Can you be more specific Shepard."
"Relays. They're our means of travel across civilization as a whole. But reapers are out there in dark space."
"You want to know why no one has encountered any?" The AI started in agreement. "I agree that it is concerning Shepard. However due to the restraints put in place on my AI core. I must remain focused on our current missions."
"Of course. Just...I'm getting a real bad feeling that there's always a bigger fish."
Meanwhile in the depths of dark space, an unassuming star shaped rock briefly flicked open an eye. It had sensed something that it had thought improbable to be discovered. Its primary food source had finally been discovered. It had to share this revelation. So it started meandering towards the milky way.
And a pair of people woke up in a cold sweat deep in the Terminus system.
"Ahhh!" Ryoma Nagare briefly screamed before sitting up and staring at his clenched right fist. "Shit. I don't like this feeling. This universe couldn't have invaders. Could it?" He asked himself out loud. "Get a grip Ryoma." He looked out of his viewport off into space at the Mass effect relay and grit his teeth. He really didn't like the look of that damn tuning fork.
Councilor David Anderson looked out over the presidium. The sounds of society filling the skyway. Operations Chief Ashley Williams had returned from Horizon reporting that half of the colony was taken. And that Shepard, working with Cerberus, prevented the full abduction. Anderson didn't fully understand the whole picture but was willing to overlook some of the more pointed accusations made by Chief williams.
He made sure to send a request for a report from Shepard, given the activities in the Terminus systems. However he was surprised to receive a message back quickly, through a channel reserved for classified information.
"Councilor Anderson,
I will return as soon as this next recruitment is over with. Something is happening near Perseus veil. I can't go into too much detail over an unsecure channel. After this deployment I have several reports and advice about a potential situation.
Attached is footage from an engagement between an unknown force and batarian pirates.
SPECTRE agent Shepard"
David downloaded the file and pulled it up on a separate monitor. He'd been in his fair share of space battles, so it was no odd sight to behold one. What was simultaneously frightening and perplexing. Sensitive information indeed, Anderson felt that he would have to share this information with the council and get some form of reception ready.
The former admiral sighed as he briefly moved to grab a bottle of whiskey before shutting that drawer. The counselor briefly squaring his shoulders before calling the other council members. He waited, arms folded behind his back before the three councilors winked into existence.
"Anderson? What is it?" Councilor Tevos asked as she looked at him.
"Horizon was attacked by an unknown alien species. Half of the colony was abducted. Shepard intervened and stopped the entire colony's abduction. I've asked her to come back to The Citadel to give a debrief on her findings thus far. However it seems she's come across something more concerning."
"It could just be slavers and colonists are scared out of their minds." Sparatus chimed in, the Turian shaking his head. "However given the 'Geth' from two years ago. We should at least lend some weight behind Shepards words and actions."
"Agreed. Outside of one incident in council space revolving around one former Donovan Hawke, Shepard's activities have stuck to the Terminus systems." Valern hummed before extending his left hand forward. "Chief Williams corroborated this attack I assume?"
"Correct. I know Shepard is still on our side, not Cerberus's. Any chance she gets she uploads sensitive cerberus intel to the Alliance. Including what I'm about to show you all." Anderson said while reaching up and uploading the video. "This was recorded about a week ago. By apparently a Cerberus sattelite."
After the video footage was complete. The councilors all thought heavily on what they just witnessed.
"I am concerned about the sheer firepower those ships possess. I am reminded of how easily the 'Geth' dealt with our own fleet. And that was just one of them. Upon further research into the wreckage, it's some form of molten metal." Sparatus pointed out with a sigh.
"Indeed. Did SPECTRE agent Shepard elaborate on the situation? Those pirates ruined any chance of peaceful first contact." Velarn asked.
"Just that it was sensitive, too sensitive for even back channels to talk about. She'll be on her way here once she's dealt with a recruitment. I'm just glad she's on our side."
"I see. Hopefully she'll bring some of the crew from one of these vessels. Help us get an understanding of who it is that we're dealing with." Tevos nodded.
Doctor chakwas sighed as she looked at the X-ray scan in front of her.
"All your vitals appear to be normal. If I hadn't witnessed it myself, I'd have said you couldn't have died." The doctor sighed, looking at the formerly deceased young man.
"First time I've seen that in action." Orga hummed softly. "The most I've seen before this is his ability to scheme."
"I appreciate the flattery, but I'm quite capable at gathering intel. The brief incident with Miss Lawson was regrettable, but necessary. It afforded me a first hand experience with biotics." Lelouch said while sitting up with a disarming smile.
"Yea. And you got smashed." Mika poked before stuffing a plum into his mouth idly from his own table. The ship's ICU table was dedicated to scanning his body.
"Mister Augus. Just where did you hide that plum?" The Doctor asked with a sigh.
"Pocket." Mika responded. As the scanning tools ran over his whiskers the young pilot felt his numb side twitch and flex in response. "Huh. I can feel my right side…That's not normal." Hearing that Orga, who had been lounging against the wall bounced off of it and unfolded his arms.
"Doc? What's that about?" Orga asked with His signature eye closed but his voice was a mix of worry and surprise.
"I don't know." She looked at her instrument readouts and tapped the protrusions on his back. "What do you know about these implants?"
"The 'Whiskers'? That's the Aleyja-Vijana system. It allows the recipient to interface directly with machines that have the appropriate coupling unit. It grants the pilot the senses of that machine and allows us to move it like our own body. The procedure was forced on many children on our home planet of Mars, in our dimension, that is. From what I understand based on a brief search on this…extranet, is that you found ancient ruins on Mars instead. Better a bunch of destroyed buildings than a mobile armor."
"Ok. We'll tackle that one at a time. Starting with, how dangerous was this procedure?"
"Very. Often it was done without anesthetic. Too costly. At least that's how it was for our little group. I underwent the surgery twice. Mika. He's had it three times. As a result, he's unrivaled in his mobile suit. But…well, there was a price for that power and I put him in danger more than I care to admit."
"Orga, It's not your fault. We're making a better future for Tekkadan." Mika consoled while curiously trying to stretch his left hand.
"And…these…'whiskers'. What happens to the pilot if their machine takes an incredible amount of damage? Or a sort of Feedback loop happens?"
"Death, loss of bodily functions outside of the machine. Mika's case is because the safeties were removed on the AV system of his mech. Took his sight in one eye, and control of the right side of his body. Anymore then that you'll have to ask someone from Gallarhorn, and the only one from my world that is, Is still onboard the Dreisstrager."
"So we're looking for damage to his nervous system. That's…simultaneously easy and more difficult." Chakwas sighed, while making notes. "And Mika, you can see and move the affected limbs while hooked up to your machine?"
"Mmhm." Mika nodded.
"Young man. That is not an answer." Chakwas chided her patient before sighing and adding in a non verbal affirmation. "I need specifics."
"I can move about just fine if I'm plugged into Barbatos. Even this machine is allowing me to stretch somewhat."
"It's likely a side effect of our technology interacting with your 'whiskers'. I wouldn't rely on it for a second. Personally, no response would have been better. Doctor Solus and I will have to be wary of complications arising during the corrective surgery."
"Am I free to return to my lodging Doctor?" Lelouch asked curiously.
"While I am still unsure as to HOW exactly you lived through that ordeal. Medically, I have to let you go. Though I would appreciate an explanation."
"I'll ask C.C to tell you. Think of it as…borrowed parts from a different dimension?" The Britannian offered cryptically. "I am personally not too familiar with the hows and why's of C's world. All I can say is that only the most extreme measures may actually kill either of us."
"So you're saying getting tossed into a sun could do it?" Mika asked morbidly.
"Quite possibly, I think that would work. However, the fact that you asked. Means that you entertained the thought more than once." Lelouch said while eyeing Mika with wary concern. "Concerning, given that we are allies."
"Not everyone is immortal, and friends can quickly become enemies if Orga says so." Mika commented, missing Orga wincing and biting his lip out of habit.
"Ah. You are his Jerimaiah. Loyal, strong, and more than willing to eliminate any threat to those you care about." Lelouch nodded before approaching the med bay doors which slid open for him.
"Mister Lelouch. Don't aggravate any more biotics. Not even for a bet. I'll personally toss you out the airlock." Chakwas warned sternly.
Shepard sighed as she moved down to the CIC.
"Joker, coordinate for our lift off and get us to the system where our engineer is located. Once we're loaded up, we're heading out. We've stalled long enough." Commander Shepard stated. The red headed woman looking at the galaxy map.
"Aye Aye, Commander." Joker responded before starting to follow up with those requests.
"Commander Shepard, I am requesting permission to interview our new crew mates for the time being. It wouldn't be good if our mission Jeopardized by a conflict of interest. Not when so much is unknown."
"Fair point. But do so delicately. No asking for secrets and the records are to be sealed using my SPECTRE authority." Shepard reminded Kelly. "Technically they aren't a part of the crew. If they agree to an interview that's all well and good. Just don't push the issue."
"Understood Commander. I will be discreet." Kelly said with a disarming smile. The Yeoman nodded before saluting and moving to the elevator in order to perform her interviews.
"Commander, We had to disembark the M44 hammerhead in order to make room for The Gekkoi Sui, the Barbatos and a…SCOPEDOG? Ok. Some of these names border from classic Japanese, to mythological or on the nose. Next you'll tell me we found an Urbanmech. Just so you know Commander I am all for more firepower, but deploying some of those machines from ours is going to be a pain in the ass." Garrus chimed in. "And I have to say. They were guarding a prisoner, with that monster of a gun?!" Shepards omni tool lit up to show a gun that was several meters long. "That's just the thirty mil. It's also got missiles, Fifty cal, some form of claw and pilebunker…and shoulder mounted artillery. I'd give the rest of my right mandible to pilot this beautiful machine. The Armor on this seems to be a ceramic-titanium composite steel."
Over garrus's com line shepard heard Grunt chime in:
"It can't be all that tough!" The sound of a mattock assault rifle being fired.
"Commander Shepard, I have detected small arms fire in my cargo bay." EDI chimed in.
"Oh crap, Ricochet! Head's down!"
"God damn it Grunt." Shepard sighed before rushing to the elevator before the doors closed. "Yeoman Chambers. Please push the cargo bay button." Kelly did so without a second question before shaking her head.
At the floor for the crew quarters, the doors briefly opened, allowing Kelly to disembark from the elevator. The doors then shut once more and opened on the cargo bay floor. Shepard was greeted by Garrus pushing himself off the floor and a grinning krogan with a mass effect round slightly embedded into his head plating.
"Heheheh. Tougher than I gave it credit for. It passes the Grunt test." Grunt chortled while winking at the commander. "Felt good to get some of this anxious energy out of my system. Should be good for the next mission though."
"Grunt. No discharging your weapon when there is no threat." Shepard chided Grunt as she stepped out into the Cargo bay only to be presented with the various machines. The first of many warning signs. A few Radioactive and explosive warning labels had been put on fuel crates and munitions crates. And near the mobile suit that took up the entirety of the starboard cargo bay. A few Kids and one supervising Adult doing final checks on the rigging. "What…in the living hell?" Shepard blinked as she took a moment to let the scene sink in.
"Grunt. Don't piss off Shepard. Rule number one of The Normandy. Rule number two. You obey Shepard…unless it's to get inside the Mako, then you pray and hope you didn't have lunch. Rule three; Don't play Skyllian five with Shepard."
"I will challenge rule one." Grunt retorted with a grin.
Shepard sighed as she eyed a wrench next to her before grabbing it and chucking it with all of her strength. The metal object catching Grunt on the snout and dislodging the projectile lodged in his head plating. The Krogan recoiled back in surprise at the motion while Garrus kept a poker face.
"Grunt. I will talk to you after we're enroute to recruit the engineer. Garrus, lock his weapons up." Shepard ordered. "Dismissed."
"Shepard…" Grunt acknowledged with a pout that only a krogan could manage.
"On it Shepard. Grunt. The rifle please." Garrus asked while holding out his hand.
"I can carry it myself." Grunt countered grumpily before trundling his way past Commander Shepard, followed by Garrus who rubbed at his head lightly. The Turian gave her a wry shrug before winking and moving to stand beside the Krogan and pushed the button to head towards the CIC.
For the time being Shepard walked up to the supervising adult.
"You're the mechanics for this machine?" She asked politely while standing at ease. Her eyes not missing the battle scaring and scorch marks that littered the Chassis.
"Correct. You can call me Nadi, I've known The Barbatos here since before he was hooked up and used as a generator. Though at the time I didn't even know his name. It was just some ancient mecha we'd uncovered on Mars." The dark skinned male nodded politely before giving the Commander a sad smile. "I know what you're thinking. Yes, war is all that Tekkadan knows. Raised by it and buried by it."
"You sound like you don't approve." Shepard noted.
"I don't. But I put my personal feelings aside so that as many come home safe as possible." Nadi shrugged before running a hand along The Barbatos's Anetennae. "Did you have any questions?"
"I would actually like to know more about both Tekkadan and The Barbatos, it's unlike the other…mobile suits? I saw on the way in." She asked honestly.
"Ah. Fair, our hangar is usually hangar three. While it shares the name, GUNDAM. It's built for close combat. This is actually its sixth iteration. Mika keeps breaking it during combat. The armor plating is resistant to energy weapons, effectively splitting lasers and other heat based weapons around its armor plating. Kinetic though, that'll still do some damage." Nadi offered.
"Does it have any form of ranged options? I doubt a squad of mercs will just let such a large machine get too close." Shepard asked seriously.
"It's got a pair of two hundred millimeter cannons, one in each arm. And then there's the tail blade on the back. We had to snubnose the cannons to internalize them, in order to prevent Mika from ripping them off when he really gets going. It had a blade for precision strikes, but Mika prefers the mace, plus it was destroyed in combat."
"I'm sorry. When he gets 'going'?" Shepard asked politely. "That sounds ominous."
"The Alayja-Vijana allows Mika to move The Barbatos as if it were his own body. And if he taps deep enough into the machine. He can almost seem feral. Most pilots rely on thrusters to change position. But they still have to rely on inputting the commands. Those with the Whiskers don't. They think about activating the parts they want. Just…try not to get the Lupus too damaged while Mika is in it. I don't want to see the young man lose any more of his humanity."
"I'll try not to worsen his situation until Doctor Chakwas and Mordin have a look at him." Shepard promised.
With all of the final checks finished, The Normandy's cargo ramp closed back up.
"Commander Shepard, we have been given the green light to go on our way." Joker's voice chimed in. "We are now en route to the mass relay. I still can't believe what's happened today. Makes Sovereign seem so far away." The commander of The Normandy looked apologetically to Nadi.
"I have to go. Keep yourselves safe, as soon as Mika is cleared for combat on board this ship, I'll let you know." Shepard said before turning and making her way back to the elevator.
A Few minutes later…
"So, Mister Zanvolt, how old are you?" Kelly Chambers asked curiously of the tall, ash haired man.
"I am Twenty nine." Sanger responded while idly sipping on some coffee. "Not that it matters to one such as I. I will likely meet my end in the cockpit long before Age claims its toll."
"You speak so casually of your own demise. From your hair alone I'd have thought you to be much older than Commander Shepard." The Yeoman paused to think a bit. Kelly tapped her dataslate as she thought about the individual before her. He was very closed off and rigid. Much like a soldier that had seen far too much combat. "How long have you been in service?"
"Since I was old enough to enlist. It is a warrior's duty to defend the weak and cultivate the next generation." The veteran soldier said brusquely.
"A warrior's duty? Would you please elaborate upon that line of thought?"
"It is simply my code, from a young age I was fascinated by Bushido. The Samurai strove to protect those under their care while punishing evil. Personal Troopers are but an extension of this logic. By my sword will I protect those who cannot defend themselves. By my sword shall evil be cut in two. And when it cannot, I will simply smash it."
"I see, that's both intimidating and commendable to be so steadfast in your convictions." Kelly nodded, making a note about that to further it later. "Have you ever encountered someone or a situation where you couldn't follow through with that commitment?"
"Has a soldier ever lost a battle? Of course. And while shameful, they have lessons to be learned. Even serving under the noble Dreikruz, we are not without fault." Sanger said honestly. "A cunning fox can lay many a misleading trail. And we had to hunt several cunning foxes simultaneously."
"Didn't you have help? Surely your command would want these 'foxes' taken care of."
"Merely old bickering men, squabbling for power in most cases. The red tape of politics bind many." Sanger paused before elaborating. "That and too many fronts that need aid. Imagine a foe that could strike any time, anywhere. Now add in warring internal factions. That is the chaos we had to deal with. Did. Deal with."
"Could you give me an example?"
"A man I came to know as The Claw. Fitting name as he was an elderly murderer with interesting dreams. He sought world peace by global murder." The Samurai provided. "For his insanity. He proved quite lucid when it came to his schemes and manipulation of others."
"Was his name metaphorical or a result -"
"It was for a Reason. His Right hand was a claw like Prosthetic. Two of our pilots had scores to settle before they could move on with their lives. I hear even Lelouch had a run in with the fiend."
"I see. And other individuals were just as dangerous? I don't know what terrifies me more, our battle against the Collectors. Or what you had to face."
Kelly paused to formulate her thoughts. She noted that the pilot was oddly at peace and yet, his sheathed katana was always close to his dominant hand.
"Have you ever had to face an al-"
"Miss Chambers. There's questions that we all don't want to answer. It's best to let that one lie." The undertone of Sanger's message not missed by the Yeoman. He had indeed fought his own allies. And didn't regret it. "I am a soldier. My duty is my Honor. Even if that duty pits me against comrades, I will see it through."
"I only ask because we do have a Krogan on board. And I want to make sure that I can find a safe place to be in the event of unplanned full contact sparring."
"Oh ho? Should he offer. I certainly wouldn't turn the pup down. Indeed, full contact sparring is the only way to gain the measure of an individual." Sanger hummed curiously. Intrigue sparking in his eyes as he thought about the prospect.
"We are hitting the relay in five…four…three…two…one." Came Jokers voice over the loudspeaker as the subtle vertigo hit all about as the inertial dampeners kicked in.
"I really would advise against it. Grunt can be…enthusiastic." Kelly said, trying to be persuasive, hastily making a reminder to request Shepard do all in her power to stop the two from sparring.
Tali'Zorah Vas Neema looked over her findings one more time. There was no reason for such a young star to already be dying. And yet, there were traces of dark energy on their solar surveys. Had the star been tampered with? What purpose did that serve the Geth? For the young Geth expert it made no sense.
She half turned as she heard a voice behind her.
"Ma'am, while you're confirming your findings I'm going out to check the perimeter. We're still in Geth space. I'm leaving some of my best Marines to keep you safe, ma'am." Kal'Reegar stated while giving her a crisp salute.
"Thank you Reegar. And it's Tali." The female quarian lightly chided the Marine with a shake of her head.
"Sorry, you're in charge of this mission. And one of the few scientists out here willing to pick up a shotgun Ma'am. So I'll be giving you the proper respect." Reegar joked back before giving her a wave which she returned as he walked outside, nodding to three of his best from their small contingent. "You three keep her safe, even if it costs you your lives you hear?"
"Yes Sir!"
"Not a single Geth will make it past us." Came the enthusiastic replies from his Marines.
"Good. Zaal, Jole, you're with me. We're going to check on the other three." With that said, Kal'Reegar departed to check on the last three quarians in his squad. Rito, Naesin and Vaem.
As they passed by the shadows, keeping out of the sun as much as they could. A geth dropship passed by, prompting the Quarians to duck into cover as Reegar poked his head up.
"That's the second pass so far…" Reegar briefly said before calling up his perimeter guards. The marine brought his right hand up to his helmet, worry lacing his voice. "Rufe'Xehz, a Geth dropship just flew overhead again, can you see what its doing from your post?" Static greeted his call. "Rufe'Xehz, this is Kal'Reegar, are you there? Respond."
"Vot. Prepare for Geth!" Reegar ordered before unslinging his Vindicator rifle as a mass effect round slammed into Zaal's helmet. The Quarian falling dead. "Sniper! Get to cover!"
"Reegar, Sir! Rocket launcher!" Jole said before tossing the weapon to his CO, who caught the weapon with his left hand before magnetically attaching it to his suit.
"Thanks. Should come in handy. Now let's give them a Quarian welcome."
In Orbit above Haelstrom…
Joker sighed as Shepard, Miranda and Garrus deployed in the shuttle planetside. He didn't like the looks of that star very much. But he still had a job to do as he flew The Normandy in quick and quiet.
"EDI, open the cargo bay, we're going to drop our friend in hot. I sure hope those Geth appreciate the present."
"I doubt they will like it very much if at all." The AI chimed back as she lowered the cargo ramp.
A few moments later all he got over the comms was;
"Deploying now." As Joker watched the 'Scopedog drive itself out of the cargo bay and hit Haelstrom's surface at full speed.

Hiro: Altered Chakwas and Orga's conversation, thank you to the guest "duelgundam" for the critique and lore correction! I appreciate it. I do apologize if I'm not 100% accurate one some things, some of the mechs involved, SRW is my only exposure to them.
