(Welcome back to the next chapter. Can Lincoln's friends figure out what's wrong with him and Big Chill before something worse happens?)
The next day at the Loud House, Lincoln came down the stairs and went to the kitchen. He opened the fridge and looked around before spotting a jar of pickles, "Perfect!" he took the jar and removed the cap. He took a pickle and started eating it.
Suddenly his sisters walked into the kitchen and saw Lincoln, "Lincoln, are you seriously eating pickles right out of the jar?" Lola asked rhetorically.
"Yeah, so?" he asked.
"I literally did not come home for the weekend to see this." Lori said sounding disturbed.
"Lincoln, are you ok?" Lana asked.
"Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?" he asked before taking another pickle.
"As of late you've been snacking more than you normally do." Lisa noted.
"Hey, I'm a growing boy." Lincoln argued, as he ate another pickle.
"Well, you keep that up, you're gonna grow in all the wrong places." Luan motioned to Lincoln's stomach, before chuckling.
"Are you calling me fat?!" Lincoln snapped, much to their surprise.
"No offense, Lincoln. But you really should cut back." Leni said nervously.
"I'll do what I want, and eat when I want to!" Lincoln continued to speak offensively, before eating the last pickle. Then he drank the juice right out of the jar before burping, "Man, I love these things." he walked right past his sisters who were gawking.
"Did he drink the pickle juice?" Luna asked in disbelief.
"He did." Lily confirmed.
"What is with him?" Lynn asked, as the sisters had no idea how to answer.
Later, Lincoln was hoverboarding around Royal Woods, before he passed the Burpin' Burger to see the chewed up sign, "Whoa. Did I? Nah, it can't be." but it didn't end there. Lincoln went passed several other places to see chewed up from a car wash sign, the car wash itself, several post office mail boxes, Flips sign. The more Lincoln saw places that had metal signs that looked chewed up the more nervous he got.
He stopped into the park and sat down on a bench, "This can't really be happening." he told himself.
"Lincoln!"
Lincoln looked over seeing Clyde, and their friends coming over, "Guys."
"Thank goodness you're all right." Stella said in worry.
Ya really scared us last night." Liam admitted.
"Lincoln, what happened?" Rusty asked.
"You guys tell me. Because I am seriously blanking on last night." Lincoln replied.
Clyde spoke up, "You said you were going to go Jetray to see if any of your other aliens were experiencing the same behavioral pattern as Big Chill. You started out as Jetray, but in a second suddenly switched to Big Chill."
"I could only switch between aliens while I was still one when I had Master Control unlocked." Lincoln noted.
"After that you took off and we followed you to Burpin' Burger." Zach continued.
"We thought you were going to go on another burger binge, but instead..." Clyde was cut off by Lincoln.
"I ate the sign."
"Right." Stella confirmed.
"And a few metal trays." Liam put in.
"And I did the same at Flips, the car wash, and several mail boxes." Lincoln listed off.
"You saw, huh?" Zach asked, as Lincoln nodded.
"Well, that's only what we witnessed you doing." Rusty said.
"We couldn't keep up with you forever, and you just vanished." Clyde added.
"Lincoln, where did you go?" Stella asked.
"All I remember is waking up in a ditch late last night outside Royal Woods." Lincoln recalled.
"Why did you go all the way out there?" Zach asked.
"Again, don't remember." Lincoln reminded him.
"You really think this is another Ghostfreak incident?" Clyde asked.
"If it is, then I'm worried." Lincoln said, as he shook.
The group not threatened by the possibility of Lincoln losing control huddled around him for a group hug. Lincoln smiled feeling glad they had his back.
Back at the Loud House, the girls were sitting around in the living room deep in thought, until the parents entered, "Are you girls ok?" Lynn Sr. asked.
"We're fine, dad." Lana replied.
"We're just concerned about Lincoln." Luan said.
"He's been acting weird the last two days." Leni added.
"Girls, weird behavior is just part of being a teenager. You girls should know." Lynn Sr looked to his eldest daughters before Lincoln was born.
"Just give it time, Lincoln will grow out of it." Rita assured them.
"Normally that would be logical, however the signs we've been noticing about Lincoln behavior point in other directions." Lisa explained.
"What do you mean?" Lynn Sr. wondered.
"Have you noticed Lincoln's been snacking on more than his usual daily after school snacks?" Lola asked.
"Well, I did see him grab a whole fresh bag of barbecue flavored chips, and noticed it was empty when I threw something away." the dad recalled.
"And when I tried to warn him to cut back, he took it harder than he'd normally take a joke." Luan added.
"Yeah, almost like when Lori and I were during each of our..." Leni began only for Lori to clamp her mouth shut.
"Leni, we literally don't need to talk about that phase of our lives." the younger Loud sibs, minus Lisa were confused by that.
Back with Lincoln and his friends, nighttime had started and Lincoln spoke, "I guess I better head home."
"You gonna be ok?" Clyde asked.
"I'll manage." Lincoln was about to pull out his hoverboard until he looked up at the moon and his eyes went blank as if he were in a hypnotic state.
"Uh, Linc?" Rusty asked.
Lincoln said nothing, as he activated the Omnitrix and transformed into the ice alien again, "Big Chill!" the moth alien flew off, as the others looked worried.
"Oh, no. Not again!" Clyde said in worry.
"Come on, before we lose him!" Stella called, as they got their bikes and followed their friend.
Later on, Big Chill arrived at the Royal Woods Steel Mill, and started devouring several girders like it was an all you can eat buffet.
"Mm, freshly made too." Big Chill said while smacking his lips together.
"Hold it right there!"
Big Chill turned back and saw three security guards aiming their guns at him, "Do not interfere!" the alien hissed.
"That ain't how this works, son." one of the guards replied.
Big Chill hissed looking ready to attack causing the guards to open fire. Fortunately Big Chill went intangible causing the bullets to go right through. He flew above them, as the first guard called.
"Come on down here and give yourself up!"
"I warned you!" Big chill hissed, as he unleashed his ice breath freezing their feet to the ground.
"Can't move!" the third guard struggled.
"Now where was I?" Big Chill asked himself, "Ah, yes." he resumed devouring more girders.
"Hey!" came another order, as Clyde and the rest arrived.
"What're you doing?" Stella demanded.
"This ain't what a hero does." Liam motioned to the cops with their feet frozen.
"This doesn't concern you all!" Big Chill hissed.
"Look, why don't we just sit down and talk this over?" Zach suggested.
"How about 'no'?" Big Chill let out more ice breath creating a wall to block them.
The teens pounded on the ice wall, before watching Big Chill look up at the molten vats. He flew up to one, and poured it forward drinking the contents without a problem.
"That's gonna give him heartburn later." Rusty feared while clutching his own stomach.
When Big Chill drank enough he phased through the ice wall and left, "After him!" Clyde ordered, as the teens headed back for their bikes.
"Hey, what about us?" one of the guards called.
"Don't worry, you'll thaw." Stella replied, as they hurried.
As the teens peddled after Big Chill, Clyde called up, "Lincoln, get a hold of yourself!"
Big Chill just responded by breathing more ice down on the street making it frozen and slick, "Pull up!" Zach called, as they pulled to a halt before their bikes started skidding.
"There's no way we can go after Lincoln on our own." Rusty said.
"Better call in the fam." Clyde said, as he pulled out his cellphone.
Meanwhile, Big Chill arrived at the very ditch he woke up in the last time he changed back. He began spitting the molten metal onto a pile of metal debris and watched it harden, "It's almost time." he told himself.
Back at the Loud House, Lori heard her cellphone ring. She expected it to be Bobby as always, but saw it was Clyde's name. Regardless, she answered it, "Clyde what's up? What?" her sisters and parents looked over in confusion, "Where is he? Don't worry, we'll be right there!" she hung up.
"What's wrong?" Luna asked.
"Lincoln turned into Big Chill and has lost his mind." Lori explained.
"Elaborate on that." Lisa said.
"According to Clyde, Lincoln just went Big Chill, flew to the steel mill and started devouring whatever metal he saw there."
"Wow, he must really be hungry." Lynn Jr said in shock.
"And when Clyde and the others tried to talk him down, Lincoln tried to attack them sounding offensive and moody." Lori continued.
Lisa turned to her parents, "Still think this is stereotypical teenager behavior?" she asked rhetorically.
"This is serious," the father admitted, "Lincoln's behavior is starting to remind me of how your mom was when... Wait a minute, honey, you don't think?" the two looked at each other, as Rita gasped and spoke.
"Can it be?" she asked.
"Can what be?" Luna asked.
"Girls, we need to go find your brother," Rita began, "Lori, where did Clyde say Lincoln was?"
"Not far outside Royal Woods." she answered.
"Mom, dad, what's wrong with Lincoln?" Lana asked, as the girls felt their parents knew something.
"Let's just find Lincoln and we'll deal with it." Lynn Sr. said, as they piled out of the house.
Meanwhile, Clyde and the rest of the group had been watching from a safe distance looking down at the ditch where Big Chill was curled up above the metal structure at the bottom of it.
"Clyde?" came a whisper, as the teens saw the Loud Family.
"Good, you made it." Clyde said in relief.
"Where is he?" Rita asked.
"Down there." Stella motioned to Big Chill.
"What's he doing?" Lily asked.
"It's like he's a bird sitting in its nest." Lana noticed.
"Good eye." Lisa confirmed.
"So what do we do?" Lucy asked.
"Let's take it nice and slowly." Lynn Sr. spoke.
"Follow us." Rita instructed, as the kids followed the adults, as they slowly made their way down in the pit.
Once they reached the bottom they stepped lively and quietly, until Lynn jr stepped down too loud alerting Big Chill who looked at them and hissed.
"Uh-oh." Leni gasped, as Big Chill stood up and spread his wings before flying at them.
The alien unleashed his ice breath, only for Lucy to conjure a magic shield to repel it, "Lincoln, stop!" Lucy called.
Rita called, "It's ok, honey! We just wanna help you!"
"I don't need your help!" the alien hissed.
"Sport, we know what's going on!" the dad called.
"We do?" Leni asked the others who were just as confused as she was.
Big Chill just ignored them, and tried to attack, with more ice breath. The Louds and Lincoln's friends jumped for cover, as Lucy looked up at him.
"Sorry, Lincoln. But I'm gonna have to ground you." she used her magic to bind Big Chill in Magical restraints and tugged him down to the ground.
"He seems very protective of that nest over there." Lynn noticed.
Big Chill called, "It's none of your business. And if I were you and didn't want to be frozen to death, I would stay as far away from here as possible!"
The group gasped at his threat, "Whoa, take it easy little bro." Lori calmed him.
"It's not his fault," Rita said, "It's just that part of the phase."
"The teenage cycle?" Lisa asked.
"No. Something else." Rita said, as they started getting closer.
"No!" Big Chill burst out of Lucy's magical restraints and flew at them.
Lynn quickly picked up a crowbar from the pile of metal and swung it at her brother, only for him to eat it, " Oh that's right. He eats metal." she said sheepishly.
"Some people just don't listen or pay attention." Big Chill tried to freeze his sister, only for both Lori and Luna to hit him hard with two metal pipes knocking him down.
"Lori and Luna Loud! Was that necessary?" their dad scolded them.
"He'll walk it off. He's been hurt worse before." Lori reminded him.
"I'm sure our male sibling will be alright. Just as long as we destroy that metal pile." Lisa suggested.
"I don't think that's such a good idea." Rita said, as Luan climbed up to look at it.
"Why not?" Luan asked, as she and Liam whacked at the pile, until sploosh green goo squirted on them, "Well, this is a gooey situation." she chuckled.
"I've been covered in worse." Liam admitted
"Luan, you need to be sanitized and fast!" Lola ordered.
As everyone crawled up to look at the metal pile, they saw the goo was bubbling, and a blue orb floated out from it.
"What is that?" Clyde asked.
"I hope it's not something bad." Stella feared.
Suddenly the orb opened up to reveal a baby version of Big Chill, much to the ladies awe, "Awwwwwww!" The Loud girls, Rita, and Stella cooed.
Lori smiled, "That is literally the cutest thing I've ever seen!" she started filming it with her phone.
"O-M-Gosh, totes adorbs!" Leni cooed.
"Hey there, little Chill." Luna said, as the baby flew around her.
"This is so cute, my heart stopped cold." Luan joked while holding her hand over her heart.
"If I had a heart it'd be bursting with joy." Lucy replied.
"Beautiful." Lola marveled.
"It's unbelievable." Stella gasped.
"You've got to be kidding me." Rusty said in disbelief.
"Look there!" Clyde said, as they saw more Baby Big Chills were hatching from the puddle of goo.
"More of them?" Zach gasped.
"It's like a miracle of nature." Lynn Sr said, as he and Rita stood close together looking happy.
Lily saw one more Big Chill hatch to reveal it was the tiniest, "So small." she said.
They watched as the Baby Chills flew over to Big Chill who woke up and got on his feet. He watched the babies fly around him, before flying up into space. The smaller one stood behind and looked at the big one.
"Go on. Fly." Big Chill said giving his baby a nudge, and the baby started flapping harder before going up to join the rest of its siblings. Big Chill looked up at the starry night sky before changing back into Lincoln. The teen boy looked around confused and then turned to his family and friends for answers.
"Mom? Dad? Girls? Guys? What am I doing here? And for that matter, what you all doing here? What's with the giant trash pile? Why are Liam and Luancovered in goo? And why do I have this strange feeling in my heart?
They all look at him and each other perplexed, "Son you might want to sit down for this." the dad began.
After discussing the issue, they showed Lincoln his offspring on Lori's phone, "To put it in simple terms Lincoln, those are your children."
Lincoln looked incredibly shocked, "How did this happen?"
Lisa being the scientific one spoke up, "According to the data, Necrofriggian, that's Big Chill's race, lays eggs once every eighty years or so. They'll live in space where it's cold, and they feed on solar plasma.
"That's too bad, because those little Chills were totes cute." Leni said.
"I wished I could've kept one." Lana said.
"Me too." Lola agreed.
"Great, so what you're saying is that I'm now a... huh. Was sure I was confident going into that sentence."
"What? What were you gonna say?" Stella asked.
"Things considered, I was gonna say mother, but... well I was gonna say father, but..."
"Why not just settle for 'parent', dude?" Luna suggested.
"Works for me." Lincoln admitted.
"When the girls told us about your behavior from the food craving and mood swings It dawned on your father and I you were experiencing what I had to go through eleven times." Rita said.
"That's childbirth for you." Lynn Sr noted, before realizing something, "Honey, do you know what this means now?"
Rita gasped as she realized it too, "We're technically grandparents now!" the married couple hugged and cheered in joy.
"And that means..." Leni began, as Lori spoke up.
"We're aunts!" she cheered with the rest of the girls.
"It does make sense." Lisa admitted.
"Well, how about that, Lincoln?" Lynn playfully punched his shoulder.
"Looks like you got to be a parent before any of us." Lori added.
"Yeah. Looks that way." Lincoln realized that.
"Well, what say we go home and I cook us up a feast to celebrate Lincoln's Little Chills?" Lynn Sr offered, as the whole group cheered.
As they were about to head out, they saw Lincoln standing alone looking up at the sky. Lucy appeared next to him in her usual way, "You okay, big brother?" but Lincoln didn't respond or jump like always, "Gasp. He wasn't spooked at all."
The rest of the family walk over to him, "Lincoln, sweetie, are you ok?" Rita asked.
Lincoln who had watery eyes, "Huh? Oh, yeah I'm fine."
"Dude, are you crying?" Luna asked.
"Wimp," Lynn chuckled, only to get smacked in the back of the head by Lori and Leni, "Ow!" the two oldest sisters frowned at her insensitivity.
"You're thinking about them are you?" Lana asked.
"Yeah," Lincoln confessed, as he rubbed the tears out of his eyes, "I just feel this sudden emptiness in my heart thinking about my little Chills up there. Probably the mother in me I guess. And I can't believe I'm saying that."
"There's nothing to be ashamed of, Lincoln," Rita held her son close, "This is just one of those hard parts of being a parent. Letting go. Your father and I felt the same when Lori, Leni, Luna, and Luan moved out."
"Will it ever get easier?" Lincoln asked in concern.
"Well, son," the dad began, as he stood by his son, "It never gets easier; especially in a family as big as ours. But that's the way it is. You just need to learn to let go sooner or later."
"And remember, Lincoln. Your kids will always have each other." Stella noted.
Lincoln with renewed happiness smiled, "Thanks, you guys." he was hugged by his family and friends.
"You're welcome, sweetie." Rita said.
"Now come on, let's go feast!" Lynn Sr announced, as they headed out of the pit.
Once they all climbed out, they headed back to Vanzilla, and the older sisters rides, as Lincoln stopped to look up a the sky one last time and whispered.
"I love you all." he continued on with his family.
(And there you go. Also just because I don't use certain characters right away like Lincoln's family in the first act doesn't mean they won't show up. You gotta understand build up and know not every scene can have everyone there. Other than that, see you next time.)
