Kinger was never really looked at as the person to go to when someone needs help with something.

He wasn't necessarily seen as the sharpest tool, but he's a lot more than people see him as, more than a scared paranoid chess piece on the verge of a mental break down.

He usually hid in his pillow fort of solitude, pillows were soft and comforting and didn't try to hurt you or lure you into dangerous situations, unlike everything else around the 'circus'.

Everything was just so scary and unpredictable, he didn't understand how Ragatha, Jax, or Zooble could be so calm about everything. Maybe, he thought, maybe they were just pretending that everything was okay, yeah, that sounded right.

A new human had entered this realm as well, or at least that's what Cain said, What was her name again? Pomni? Yeah Pomni. He wasn't sure how to think of her yet, going insane as the rest of them of course. At least she was something new in the middle of what was now normal for him.

The definition of Insanity is doing the same things over and over thinking something different will happen... They were all insane no matter how sane you seemed to be... or how new you were.

Kinger was in his solitude of his pillow fort, sitting there in his own silence for now until something happened, or Cain decided to throw another adventure at them.

But right now Kinger was holding a paper with stickers on it, with a few flower stickers on it, he just stared at them for a while. The flowers remind him of someone though he couldn't put his finger on it...

Oh wait, yes I can. He grabbed one of the stickers and peeled it off of its plastic prison and stuck it onto his wooden forehead.

Kinger started humming a tune he remembered a while ago, but couldn't remember where he got it from.

He then heard someone, muffled crying from somewhere?...

Kinger, curious, slid some pillows out of the way to peer out of his pillow fort for a moment, the crying only got a little louder then died down again. He wondered if it was Gangle again, Jax messing with them or their comedy mask broke again.

He got out of his pillow fort, tucking the stickers into his robe. Now even more curious, and even concerned that the crying continued. Now that he was walking to said crying, even Gangle did't cry that much, although on the verge of crying at least, but this was actual crying, crying of sorrow or stress.

He kept walking, until he spotted someone, and it wasn't someone he was expecting too, but at the same time he did.

Pomni.

The small Jester girl who arrived not too long ago, sitting on the ground, her back against one of the brightly colored walls as her knees were brought up, her arms over her knees, laying her head on her arms to conceal her face...

Kinger has seen this before, but he wasn't the best at comforting the others as well as Ragatha, he was actually considering getting Ragatha, but he couldn't just leave Pomni like this, right?...

As quiet as he could, he went over to Pomni, his hands kept together, and his posture lowered so he didn't seem as intimidating to the small Jester. Her soft sniffles and cries twisted his heart, feeling bad for the newest prisoner to their circus, trapped with the rest of them...

He remembered how Pomni was consistent to finding an exit, but they all knew no matter how hard you try to, there was no getting out...

"Pomnie?..." Kinger hesitantly but curiously said her name to get her attention.

Her head snapped in his direction, flinching at the sight of Kinger before her. Her pinwheel eyes looking at him almost frightened as tears streamed down her face.

"Oh! I-it's just you..." She said, her voice shaking slightly, and her voice a little horse from crying. She calmed down just a little bit by the sight of Kinger, even though they didn't have the calmest of interactions, remembering how she flinched when he abruptly got closer to her, he couldn't blame her for that.

Kinger crouched down by her, his curious and almost innocent figure and gaze trying to seem less intimidating.

"Why are you crying?..." He asked softly and yet curious despite already knowing the answer.

Pomni seemed hesitant to answer, as her gaze was to the side on the ground, as she calmly got back into her original position before she had gotten spooked by Kinger...

Kinger patiently waited on Pomni, sitting down by her, and even if she didn't answer at all hat was okay too.

Pomni rubbed the tears from her eyes, before a few small hiccups escaped her as well, before turning back to Kinger but not looking at her yet.

"How... How do you get used to... all this..?" Pomni hesitantly said as she waved her arm mentioning, well everything with an almost sad and fearful expression before looking back at him.

Kinger wasn't really expecting that question, well actually he was but still.

He then was in thought about that question, glancing at the tilled floor before looking at the wall, and then how the rest of there living quarters, almost an endless colorful odds and twist of the space they've all lived in for years on end... like he was looking for answers...

He tries not to think about it.. About what?... He couldn't remember now...

He looked back at Pomni, who seemed a little sad and yet waiting on him to answer..

Kinger put his hands together once again as he decided to answer and how...

"Well you don't really get used to it... You really just don't try to think about it, That's what I do! And look how I turned out." Kinger added looking at Pomni, but she still didn't look comforted or convinced, and even started tearing up again...

Kinger didn't know what to do, he wasn't one to comfort people as said, but he did need to try, just a little bit, just for Pomni...

He was hesitant, but decided with it anyway.

He softly took Pomni's hand and gently ran his thumb over the back of her hand, and from the most sane parts of his mind left he tried to find the words to help Pomni...

He usually tried to help Gangle on a daily bases, so hopefully it was enough to calm Pomni enough to stop crying and think on the brighter side, as he looked up at her to get a look at her face.

She was looking at him curiously and almost as if she wanted to hear what he had to say and looked at there hands, but Pomni didn't move away.

"Look Pomni... I'm sorry you're stuck here with us now, and everything changed all of a sudden, to not how you usually live... I know I'm the last person to give you advice and help you with adjusting with your new life, i was even considering getting Ragatha, but I couldn't just leave you alone when you were so down and alone. It might not be the real world, and none of us want to be here, and we all have our ways of dealing with this new change, but I know with you around, I'm sure we can try to make this better than ever... with all of us, how about that?..."

Kinger said softly, that might have been the most sane thing he's ever said. Or did he even say it? It just kept coming out like it was true, which it is. Maybe Pomni could really change things around here...

He looked at Pomni once again, and Pomni looked almost in awe, no tears either. She gave a light squeeze to Kingers hand, and then unexpectedly she hugged him.

"Thank you..." Pomni thanked Kinger quietly, the white fluff of Kingers robe tickling her face as she felt a hand pat her back since Kinger didn't have arms...

She giggled and held onto Kinger just a bit longer.

His words did make things better, it still didn't make the dread completely disappear, she guessed she could try to get along with the others then trying a way out for now, maybe even try to find an exit while doing adventures with the rest of them, even Cain, but she wasn't sure how to feel about him.

While in thought She realized she was neatly sitting on Kingers 'lap'. She didn't mind really, at least she was okay enough to stop crying, and she hasn't heard Kinger scream in the last 30 minutes randomly, making it was a stress mechanism...

Either way, she was glad to just sit here, and with Kinger... which made her question something...

"Hey Kinger.. how did you know what to say?..." She asked looking up at the chess piece.

Kinger hummed and thought for a moment, "Well I guess the small sane part of me left saw how you were and well.. I just went for it I guess..." He said softly looking down at Pomni...

Pomni nodded, and decided to just sit there for a while with Kinger.. They sat there for a while, just talking. Apparently Kinger knew a lot about the digital world Pomni didn't know about. And for the first time, Pomni saw the brightly colored walls and tent a bit differently than before...
