The celestial stars shined brightly in the skies over Jasper City as everyone was enjoying the night life, Over in a quiet neighborhood Humphrey while wearing his pajamas sat on the front porch of his house looking up at the stars and moon overhead taking in the beautiful celestial sight. But then his attention was pulled away from the sky after hearing someone running towards his house Humphrey then saw a middle aged male wolf with light gray fur, slightly muscular and he was wearing a black shirt and khakis pants.
Humphrey didn't exactly know this wolf but he has seen him around the neighborhood in fact he knows that his house is a little further down the street as he saw him mowing his lawn from time to time, Humphrey watched as this wolf stop in front of his house panting frantically,Humphrey began to think he was in trouble. The wolf then looked towards Humphrey and spoke in a panicked voice "Please please you gotta hide me she's coming!!!"he exclaimed "Wha...who's coming what are you talking about?"Humphrey asked in confusion "This woman i just met,she's after me,she wants to abduct me!"The wolf exclaimed with fear, now this caught Humphrey's attention "Abduct you, would you like me to call the police?"Humphrey asked with concern as he was about to head back into the house to call the cops but the wolf grabbed his arm stopping him "No no don't, they've infiltrated the police."the wolf said with panic "who's infiltrated the police?"Humphrey asked now more confused "The Saurians."the wolf answered Humphrey looked at the wolf with confusion and slight amusement.
Humphrey had heard of the Saurians, they are the topic of all conspiracy theorists everywhere, they are a race of Reptilian beings that was said to have lived along side the wolves sharing the earth for a million years, however one day the Saurians decided they wanted the earth all to themselves and they tried to take it from the wolves causing a fierce 10 year war, that ended with the Saurians being defeated and nearly driven to extinction, and the wolves claimed the earth. Now lately there's been reports of these Saurians being spotted from time to time prowling around and even there's been rumors that Saurians have infiltrated some parts of the government either in the United States or in other countries,by shapeshifting into important political figures, there was once a video of a member of the u.s congress that was allegedly revealed to be a Saurian in disguise, but this was quickly debunked as fake and the video was taken down however some people weren't convinced.
"The Saurians, you mean the shapeshifting reptiles hiding among us?"Humphrey asked with an unconvinced smile "Yes."the wolf nodded "ok uh... you're not a smoker are you?"Humphrey asked wondering if this wolf was high "What no, I'm serious, this woman a Saurian and she's coming for me!"the wolf exclaimed just the Runt came out of the house "Dad is everything ok?"Runt asked in confusion and worry as Kate came out behind him and saw the scene in front of her Kate gently pushed Runt behind her "Uh is he okay?"Kate asked in confusion "uh yes dear he's fine,just talking."Humphrey said with a little laugh as he gestured her to go back inside which she did.
"Ok you do realize how ridiculous this situation is right, your standing out here spouting out nonsense about the Saurians."Humphrey said in a low tone "It's not nonsense I'm telling you, the Saurians are back, stronger than ever and this woman is one."
"Ok how do you know, did she tell you?"Humphrey asked crossing his arms "No i saw her eyes change for a brief second while i was talking to her about my job at the mayor's office."The wolf explained "Look pal you need professional help and some medication because i don't think your mind is functioning properly."
"I'm not crazy,argh,i got to get out of here!"the wolf exclaimed looking back the direction he came from and then he continued running down the sidewalk, Humphrey rolled his eyes and headed back into the house "What was that all about?"Kate asked as she was sitting on the couch with Runt Stinky and Claudette next to her "nothing Kate just someone who lost his mind."Humphrey said with a joking smile as he sat down, then while he began to watch tv out of the corner of his eye he saw something dart past the window,he glance over at the window in confusion but then he shook his head and brushed it off as his imagination tricking him and he went back to watching tv.
Later That Night
While the pups were upstairs in their rooms asleep Humphrey and Kate were still in the living room watching TV, while he stared at the screen he saw something dart pass the living room window, Humphrey looked over at the window and saw mostly the empty street. Humphrey then got up and went out the door and looked around at the eerily silent neighborhood, as he looked around his eyes landed on the side walk where he noticed a black shirt laying on the ground, Humphrey walked up to the shirt and picked it up,he wasn't sure at first but he believed it belonged to the strange wolf earlier.
Now Humphrey was getting a little bit concerned,why would he discard his own shirt and where is he now hopefully he isn't hurt or anything terrible, "Humphrey what's going on?"Kate said walking up behind Humphrey then she noticed the shirt "Who's shirt is that?"she asked curiously "Nobody's, let's just go to bed."Humphrey said as he and Kate walked back into the house.
Much Later That Night
Humphrey and Kate were sound asleep in their bedroom, until Humphrey stirred awake as he felt the need to get some water, Humphrey slowly got out of bed and walked down the steps into the kitchen where he got a bottle of water out of the refrigerator and began to drink it until he saw a shadow dart across the kitchen window. Humphrey look out the window and still saw nothing "Ok someone is playing tricks with me."Humphrey said as he sat the water bottle down and walked out the door and began to look around at the neighborhood trying to find whoever is messing with him but still he saw nothing,now he was getting frustrated and a little spooked.
Just then Humphrey heard a voice coming from behind him "what's going on?" Humphrey looked behind him to see Kate standing behind him in confusion, then came back in and closed the door and locked it "Nothing dear just wanted a little bit of air."Humphrey said with a little smile then he was about to go back upstairs until he noticed the backdoor was open slightly which confused him because he was sure it was closed "Kate was that back door closed before?"Humphrey asked Kate looked at the door "I think it was,I'll go close it."Kate said as she walked towards the backdoor and closed it Humphrey rubbed his eyes as he was thinking he was getting spooked by shadows and the ramblings of a nut job.
Just then Humphrey's attention was soon captured by Kate's voice "Humphrey...?" Humphrey did a double take as he saw Kate...standing on top of the stairs looking down at him with a tired confused expression "What are you doing downstairs?"she asked about to come down the stairs, Humphrey stared at Kate with horrified silence, if that was kate then who's...?
Humphrey's heart pounded in his chest as he slowly peered towards the direction of the back door to see Kate or what looks to be Kate just standing at the back door Humphrey saw her slowly shake her head then she locked the back door, Humphrey fought the urge to scream as he didn't want this...this...imposter to do something drastic,as Humphrey stared at the intruder who continued to stand by the door, Humphrey noticed something about her that he really should have before, this imposter Kate was wearing a white nightgown and the Kate that was upstairs was wearing a white t shirt and pink pajama shorts.
Just then the imposter Kate slowly turned her head towards Humphrey and that's when he saw another difference: her eyes what was supposed to be a beautiful Amber color was instead replaced with a Reptilian like green slits. Now in complete panic mode Humphrey quickly ran up the stairs motioning for Kate to get back in the room which confused and frightened her "Humphrey what's wrong?"Kate said frighten "Shh,hide in the room,close the door and call the police."Humphrey said as Kate quickly ran back into the room and closed the door slightly and Humphrey hid around the corner of the stairs, just as the imposter Kate came into his view although she didn't look towards the direction of the stairs she instead moved towards the couch and stared at the discarded black shirt he left there.
Just then something else happened that shook Humphrey to his very core the imposter kate's body started to transform into a female Reptilian like body, green scales replaced fur, feathers and horns replaced hair and a long Reptilian tail replaced the wolf tail, her 5 foot hight size grew to a hulking 7 foot, Humphrey could hear the fabric of the nightgown rip as that grown was getting too small for her now, Humphrey couldn't believe what he was staring at, a Saurian an actual Saurian.
Humphrey watched as the Reptilian monster grabbed the shirt from the couch then she turned her head towards Humphrey her reptilian eyes meeting his terrified blue eyes then she began to walk towards the steps and then she began climbing them, Humphrey retreated back into the bedroom and closed the door. Kate looked up at her phone while she was dialing 911 as she heard heavy footsteps accending the stairs "What is that?!"she asked in low panicked voice Humphrey motioned her to be quiet and then the footsteps stopped in front of their door then Humphrey heard Kate's voice from the other side "Humphrey...why did you close the door?"
Kate was absolutely horrified that she heard her own voice "Open the door Humphrey,we need to talk."the voice continued Humphrey shook his head as Kate stood there frozen in terror "Humphrey...open..the door."Humphrey and Kate flinched and whimpered as the voice became more annoyed and they heard a little growl behind it a growl a wolf wasn't known to make. "Open the door Humphrey,we need to talk."the voice said with more authority.
This situation was sending Humphrey over the edge he had to get this creature out of the house before the pups wake up and sees it and Fenrir only knows what would happen then, "you...you need to leave right now, we're going to call the cops."Humphrey threatened In a terrified voice then Kate's voice was spoken in a offended tone "why,I just want to talk and cuddle."
"Leave right now."Humphrey said with more firm authority in his voice even though he was still terrified just then there was a gutteral growl at the door and then the next voice that spoke wasn't Kate's it was a slightly raspy voice that spoke with irritation and anger "Fine." just then Humphrey and Kate heard footsteps retreating down the stairs. Humphrey then glanced at the closet and grabbed a metal baseball bat and worked up the courage to open the door when he did he noticed the completely torn white nightgown on the floor. then he looked down the stairs and saw the tail of the Saurian exiting the house and then the door. Humphrey breathed heavily after what he had just seen everything he's been told is a lie, "it's gone."Humphrey said as he walked down the stairs with Kate following him as Humphrey walked over to the door and slowly opened it to find nothing or anybody there the Saurian disappeared into the night. "what was that?"Kate asked completely freighted.
"Kate i need you to listen to me closely:we're in trouble not just us,not just the pups, the whole world is in trouble."Humphrey said with seriousness in his voice as he looked at the night sky as he was now a believer of the Saurian conspiracy and a believer of this fact: the Saurians have returned and they were walking among them.
