Gretel POV
We were in the small town of Deirdof beginning the search for Charylisabella and so far we found nothing. No trace of her or her kidnappers. I was starting to wonder if this town was a dead end and she wasn't even here. It was getting dark and I didn't want to run into witches.
Hansel and I were in the tavern with Ben as we were discussing our plan for tomorrow's search for Charylisabella. I could tell that Hansel really didn't want Ben here. But this may be our only chance to get her back.
'So, we all know what the plan is for tomorrow?' I asked as they nodded. 'Good.'
I headed up to bed as I wanted to have a bath before bed and try to work out what was going on around here. I was trying to work out why Charylisabella was taken away from Muriel. There has to be something more to all of this than we were seeing.
Hansel came to join me as he noticed I was looking at my feet as he looked at me.
'You alright?' He asked as I looked at him.
'Yeah just trying to work out why Charylisabella was kidnapped. There has to be something Muriel is not telling us. Something that could tell us what is actually going on.'
Hansel POV
I sat there listening to what Gretel was saying as I couldn't help but wonder if she was right. There is something off about this whole kidnapping of the younger sister. There must be a reason, something so obvious that we are missing it.
'Oh this must be so obvious that we are missing it.' I said as Gretel looked at me. Almost every town has a Grand Witch more powerful than the last. But this is not an ordinary witch, this is the Queen Bee of witches.'
'The Witch who entered here from another dimension.' Gretel said as she looked at me. 'I remember Muriel saying about her. But why come back now and why take Isa?'
'I don't understand yet.' I said to her. 'But if I could access her birth records it might or might not provide us with the answer.'
'But her birth records mysteriously disappeared the night Lilith was burnt alive.' Gretel said as she looked at me before continuing as she sighed. 'I don't know Hansel but something is wrong with all of this.'
