Later that evening...
Jaune was inspecting his new dorm room with his new teammates for the next 4 years, his fellow members of team JNPR. The young man from Naranja Academy still could not believe the circumstances that led him to being transferred to another world, where he and his Pokemon would have to fight monsters made out of darkness.
"Still not able to comprehend what happened."said Pyrrha, appearing behind Jaune.
"Ah!"said Jaune "You scared me."
"Sorry."apologized Pyrrha.
"I... I just don't know what to feel right now is I'm a little overwhelmed with the whole situation. I mean, just this morning I was going to go explore more of Paldea. Now I find myself attending a school where we fight monsters."said Jaune, who knew that he wasn't the only one feeling the pressure.
Crocalor, Tinkatuff, Staravia, Flaaffy, Ogerpon, Arctibax, and Koraidon were all feeling the pressure of adjusting to this new environment that was completely different from anything they were used to.
"I know this is a lot for you and your... Pokemon to adjust to. But considering the alternatives, I believe this is the best choice you made."said Pyrrha, feeling that Jaune made the right choice to stay at Beacon Academy.
After all, he had no place else to go as this world was completely different from his own and his chances of survival without proper adjustment would have been next to nothing...
"She's right, Jaune-Jaune."said Nora, appearing behind the two partners with her childhood friend, Ren.
"Nora, where did you come from?"asked Jaune, as he didn't hear Nora come in.
"I'm a master of stealth!"said Nora with a proud look on her face.
"She was waiting here the whole time for you to come back."said Ren, revealing that Nora had been in the room the whole time, she had just been hiding.
"Soo... can we see your Pokemon?"inquired Nora, as she wanted to see the Little cuties again.
"Fine... they need to adjust to this new environment so a bit of leg room will not do them any harm."said Jaune, before he called out his Pokemon by tossing all seven pokeballs into the air.
A few seconds later all of Jaune's Pokemon appeared in the dorm room, and begin looking around at their new environment as they were curious to see what this school would have for them. Tinkatuff and Ogerpon on the other hand were hiding behind their trainer as Nora was giving them a weird look.
"Come on, I just want to hug you guys."said Nora, with the hammer Pokemon and mask Pokemon readying their weapons in case she tried to jump them.
"Nora, down. Your scaring them."said Ren, calling his childhood friend to back off.
"Oh boo!"said Nora, not happy that she wasn't able to hug the little cuties.
"Tinkatuff and Ogerpon are just nervous around strangers."said Jaune, who knew better than anyone that his Pokemon did not trust people they did not know.
Especially people that tried to give them hugs out of nowhere...
"Wait a minute!"said Ruby, who opened the dorm room to let herself and the rest of her team in.
"Like you're going to show them off and not show them off to us."said Ruby, before she, Weiss, Blake, and Yang made their way into team JNPR's dorm room.
"Wow, aren't you a little cutie."said Yang to Tinkatuff, admiring the muscles the hammer Pokemon must have developed over time to wield her hammer.
"Just wait until she evolves, then she'll get an even bigger hammer."said Jaune, knowing that Tinkatuff well the One Day become a Tinkaton, her final evolution.
"Ah, I want one even more!"said Nora, admiring the hammer Pokemon, hoping that one day she would get one of her own.
"Guys! I don't...know...why..."said Weiss, who was about to scold her friends for admiring weird creatures before she got to look at Ogerpon's face.
The mask Pokemon was doing a little dance as she went over to a nearby desk to place all of her masks.
"Oh... you're such a cutie!"said Weiss, before she ran over and started hugging the mask Pokemon.
"Oger!"said Ogerpon, broke away a few seconds later to run back to her trainer.
"Wow, she's really nervous around people."said Blake, noticing that other than Jaune and his group, Ogerpon didn't trust anyone else.
"Well, considering what she's been through it's understandable."said Jaune, confusing everyone else in the room.
"What do you mean?"inquired Pyrrha, wondering what Jaune meant by that.
"Sit down as I tell you a story."said Jaune, causing everyone to sit down, with Ruby and Nora taking the front.
"Story time!"said Ruby and Nora with excitement, as they love stories.
Jaune chuckled for a bit before he looked at everyone in the room with a serious look.
"This story took place a long time ago in a place called the land of Kitakami."said Jaune, before he began explaining the tale of Ogerpon.
A Long, long time ago, a man and an ogre came to Kitakami from a foreign land.
The people of the local village feared the man and the ogre, who looks so different from them...
And so they refuse to let the travelers come anywhere near the village.
The man and the older were saddened that the villagers did not welcome them...
But they were happy just to have each other. They settled quietly in a cave on the local mountain.
There was only one villager who pity the two travelers: the village mask maker.
He made several masks for the man and the ogre.
The masks were brilliant works, adorned with gems the man brought from somewhere far away.
By wearing these masks, The travelers could hide their true faces and mingle with the villagers.
The man of the old girl were overjoyed. They thanked the mask maker for his kindness.
Wearing the masks, the man and the ogre started secretly joining the village festival.
The mysterious pair soon became the talk of the village because of their brilliant masks.
In fact, rumors about them quickly spread far and wide, even to distant lands.
But rumors of exquisite, shiny masks attract more than just innocent curiosity...
A group of three greedy Pokemon soon made their way to the land of Kitakami.
These Pokemon sneaked into the cave in which the man in ogre lived... and tried to make off with the masks, which were carefully stored away.
The man happened to be there. He managed to hold on to one of the masks... but he was not strong enough to protect them all.
The greedy Pokemon stole the other three masks.
Several hours later, when the ogre return to the cave... it found it's beloved home in ruin. All that was left where signs of a struggle and a teal mask.
The ogre donned that mask and went down to the village, perhaps to search for its friend.
It found the greedy Pokemon there, gloating over their stolen masks, and defeated them.
The villagers, of course, had no idea what was happening nor why.
All they saw was the raging ogre. And they felt great fear.
The villagers thought that the three Pokemon had fallen trying to protect the village from the ogre.
To honor their sacrifice, the villagers named them the loyal three and interred them with care.
Wounded and weak, the ogre return to its cave-alone and with great sadness.
Jaune finish the story as he held the mask Pokemon, who was crying as that tale always made her cry.
"Wow, those villagers were such jerks!"said Nora, unable to believe that the villagers treated the villains so well while the hero, the ogre was treated so harshly.
"They didn't know what was happening."said Weiss, defending the villagers.
"But they didn't have to turn away the man and the ogre just because they were different."said Blake, showing unusual rage when she heard the story.
"Poor Ogerpon."said Jaune."Up until we meet, she had never trusted another human before. I don't know why but she opened her heart to me, and eventually she decided to join my team."
Jaune gave the mask Pokemon chin scratches as he said that, something she appeared to enjoy.
"I can't believe she went through that. I can't imagine being alone for that long."said Ren, before placing his hand on Nora's shoulder.
Nora smiled as she touched the hand back lovingly.
"If I ever meet those greedy Pokemon! I'm going to knock their teeth out!"said Yang, whose eyes had turned red.
"I wonder about that."said Jaune."I was actually thinking of looking for them with the intention of capturing them."
"Why? When they treated your friend so badly."said Ruby, wondering why Jaune wanted to add those greedy Pokemon to his team.
"I'm sure with enough time and patience they can be reformed. Everyone deserves the second chance, at least depending on what they did. Ogerpon told me that there was no signs that they did anything horrible to the man who was her original partner. I don't know what happened to him, as he just disappeared according to her. I promised her I wouldn't do the same."said Jaune, holding the mask pokémon around him, something she appeared to enjoy.
"Your a better person than me as I would have broken their legs."said Nora, wishing she could do that to those greedy Pokemon that hurt such a cute creature like Ogerpon.
Jaune smiled as he noticed a different reactions from the people in the room. Ruby was having a cookie over Ogerpon, with the mask Pokemon happily taking it. Yang was admiring Ruby's antics. Blake had a strange look on her face as it appeared that the story somehow resonated with her. Weiss was being indifferent. Ren was trying to keep Nora away from Tinkatuff. And Pyrrha was watching everything with a smile on her face
Jaune's Pokemon on the other hand stumbled near their trainer, before they begin hugging him.
"Jaune, you're really close to your Pokemon."said Ruby, noticing that these Pokemon creatures trusted Jaune with every fiber of there being.
"Well we've been through a lot together, as I was taking part in the treasure hunt. And before you ask, I was not looking for a real treasure. More like, I was looking for something I treasure."said Jaune, noticing that a few people were going to ask him if he truly was looking for treasure.
"Something you treasure?"questions Yang, before looking over at Ruby, someone she treasured.
"I don't know where I came from, or even when my parents look like."said Jaune, with his Pokemon coming towards him.
"I only know the name I was given... nothing else. I was using the independent assignment to look for answers."said Jaune, making the people in the room feel bad for him.
"Jaune..."said Pyrrha, feeling bad for her partner as he basically admitted that he was an orphan.
"I don't know what's going to happen now that I'm here. But my Pokemon and I are going to try to make the best of it. It's not like we have any other choice."said Jaune, knowing full well that Mew made that choice for them.
"Well, we should be getting to bed everyone, and Jaune, if you ever need anyone to talk to, I'm here."said Ren, who knew what Jaune was going through as he and Nora were orphans as well.
Only with different circumstances.
"Thanks man, I really appreciate that."said Jaune, who wasn't against the idea of making new friends.
After all, everyone needed friends in this world if they wanted to be happy.
"Well, let's get going to bed, Team RWBY!"said Ruby with excitement, before she and the rest of her team left the room.
With Weiss being the last one. Jaune noticed that the white haired girl had a scale on her face, and had it pointed at Ruby... he wondered if she was not happy with the results of the team setting. He hoped nothing came out of it, and that Weiss would just accept the results as is.
He when later learn tomorrow how wrong he was.
