Chapter 24
We spent time just hanging out downstairs. Seated beside each other in the living room.
"You've become important to me too Lucas."
"I never thought when this started that we would be in this place."
"Close. Connected. I've missed it." Brooke admitted.
"I've missed it too. I care about you so much."
"I know i have a way of showing it that isn't the best."
"I'm very flawed. But what you see you in me You inspire me to push myself to become deserving of what life has given me."
"Especially you." Lucas proclaimed.
Brooke didn't know what to say to any of this.
Even more so. She didn't know to prepare or ready herself for what came next.
Lucas caressed her face. And kissed her.
Brooke kissed him back. Feeling herself get pulled towards him.
Lucas ran his hands through her hair. Touching her carefully.
Brooke found herself. Breaking the kiss.
Their eyes locked on each other.
"I really need to go to bed." Brooke announced.
"I thought you wanted this." Lucas replied.
"I do. For longer then you realize but i can't be you're rebound or you're replacement. Peyton's dead. I can't spend the rest of my life trying to fill her shoes and fill the space in you're heart she left behind." Brooke confessed. The emotion thick in her voice.
"That isn't what this is."
"Let me you show you. I'm serious. That my heart is with you."
"You can trust me." Lucas said. Wanting to reassure her.
"I trust you. I want to be with you." Brooke admitted.
"I want to give you everything you want. To love you. To make you're dreams come true." Lucas replied.
When she kissed him back. He knew he had her.
The look on her face. In her eyes. She was open and vulnerable.
