The next day in Miss Bustier's class, things were pretty normal as Miss Bustier took attendance:
"Kim Lê Chiến?"
"Here!"
"Sabrina Raincomprix?"
"Here!"
"Lila Rossi?"
No response from Lila.
"Lila Rossi?"
Still no response.
"Has anyone here seen or heard from Lila?"
The class just gave confused, uninterested murmurs.
"Well, anyways…"
Miss Bustier continued taking attendance.
At lunchtime, the hot topic of discussion was, naturally, Lila's disappearance:
"It's weird that Lila's not here," said Marinette. "She never passes up an opportunity to lie to us or manipulate us."
"Knowing her, she probably skipped on this school to attend another school under a different identity," said Alya Césaire.
Adrien chuckled. "Why am I not surprised?"
"Personally, I think we're all better off without her!" said Ivan Bruel.
"I'm not usually one to get involved in these feuds, but knowing what I know about Lila, I agree with Ivan," said Mylène Haprèle.
Kagami looked off into the distance. "Still, I do wonder what happened to her…"
"I know what happened to her!"
Everyone looked over at Kim. Alya shot a snarky glare at him.
"Do tell."
"OK, has anyone here ever heard of the Jigsaw Killer?"
Everyone shrugged or otherwise gave looks of confusion, indicating that they hadn't.
"OK, so, in the 80s, there was this killer who kidnapped his victims and subjected them to these really messed-up escape tests. If they failed, they died, and he took a puzzle piece-shaped piece of flesh from them, which is why he was called the 'Jigsaw Killer'. The cops never caught him!"
Adrien burst out laughing. "Oh Kim, that sounds so made-up!"
Mylène was shivering. "I d-dunno, that s-s-s-sounds p-pretty t-t-terrifying."
Ivan did his best to comfort Mylène, while Kim countered:
"Oh no, this guy was real, and he's back, and ya know what else? He's among us! Boogity-boogity-boo!"
Mylène screamed as she clung to Ivan to prevent herself from jumping out of her seat, while Ivan got up and gave Kim a piece of his mind:
"NOT COOL, KIM!"
Kim gently backed away and made a pushing motion towards Ivan. "Hey hey, relax, ya big ox! I was only joking!"
"Joke this!"
Ivan wound his fist back and prepared to knock Kim out, but Marinette stepped in:
"That's ENOUGH! Ivan, I can understand you're angry at Kim, but please, don't resort to violence to solve this matter! Besides, the Halloween Ball shouldn't be marred by fighting!" Marinette turned to Kim. "As for you, Kim, you should be ashamed of yourself for scaring Mylène with such nonsense! Apologize to her!"
"Fine." Kim walked over to Mylène. "Sorry for scaring ya."
"It's OK, I guess…"
Ivan shot Kim a death glare as he took his seat.
Later that day, Kim got a message from Alix Kubdel asking him to meet him at the Parc des Princes. According to the message, she had tickets to a soccer game against the US team. When he got to the stadium, however, he found that it was closed.
"Huh? What's going on here?"
Before Kim could find out exactly what was going on, he felt someone place a cloth over his mouth, and everything soon went black.
When Kim came to, he found himself in a dimly-lit room somewhere. He couldn't tell exactly where he was, but almost immediately, he found himself having to hold his nose because something stank to high hell in here.
"Hey, what the hell's going on here!? Somebody let me out!"
A TV in the room turned on, and the mysterious puppet from when Lila was captured showed up on the screen:
"Hello, Kim. I want to play a game. For years, you've been playing your own games with your fellow students, always challenging them to various dares, yet also playing malicious pranks on them. You used me to scare them, too, didn't you? Well, now it's my turn. In this room, there are two walls of spikes across from each other. They will start closing in, and you will eventually be crushed to death. However, there is a way to escape your fate. I've placed the key to unlock the door in a vat of manure in the center of the room. This should be no trouble for someone like you who takes on various dares. Live or die, make your choice. Let the game begin."
After the message finished, the walls began closing in, setting about a slow fate for Kim, who ran over to the vat of manure in an attempt to grab the key. Unfortunately for him, the very thought of digging through such filth sickened him, and he ended up throwing up on the floor. After recovering from the shock of throwing up, Kim slowly got back onto his feet and tried to dig through the manure again. Again, however, the smell proved far too overpowering for him, and once again, he had to throw up, only he didn't puke as much this time owing to how much of his stomach he'd emptied previously. Kim tried a third time, but no matter how hard he tried, the stench was just way too much for him to bear without wanting to throw up. He tried busting the door down, but it was too strong, and he inevitably got impaled on the spikes as the walls closed in.
Criticism is gold. Negativity and nitpicking are pyrite.
