Harry Potter and the Dragon of Legend
ESKK: Well, here we go a bran new chapter please enjoy it.
(Start Hogwarts Care of Magical Creatures)
Harry should not be in this class at the moment nor should Hermione. But after the race the other day the current Care of Magical Creatures teacher. Hermione took it as a chance to see if this was a class, she would want to take next year. With more and more of these old dragons popping up their current teacher for the class thought an up-close look was warranted. "Now does anyone have questions on Mr. Potters Beau or Ms. Grangers Wyldfyr?" Kettleborn asked as he looked to the upper year class he was teaching. Cedric was unavailable for a lecture and most of the Slytherin's were trying to bond with their Psi Dragons.
Harry and Hermione were with Beau and Wyldfyre as the two dragons were laying on the floor. Wyldfyre seemed to live for the attention at the moment while Beau took it in stride. Hermione smiled glad to see that her new friend was being so well behaved right now. What made it even better was that Sirius had gone and provided those with dragons at Hogwarts specialized trunks to store them in. Inside said trunks had close to everything the Dragon needed to be comfortable acting as an enclosure for it. Harry had plans to meet his godfather this Christmas holiday and thus allow Hermione to introduce Wyldfyre to her parents.
"I have one!" A student said as she raised her hand. "What exactly do they eat?" She asked as Harry looked to the girl.
"Well Beau seems to really like fish, but he'll also eat just about anything you put in his bowl within reason." Harry said as Hermione nodded to this. "Strange thing is she would never even dine to go after human flesh despite hunting varying creatures like wild boars, rabbits, and sheep." Harry said as he wondered why Beau and Wyldfyre would not hunt actual humans seeing as they were meat eaters.
"So, they're safe to approach?" One brave student asked with a raised hand.
"Yes, they should be, as long as you do not come forward with hostility then Beau and Wyldfyre won't have reason to be hostile either." Hermione said as she rubbed Wyldfye's side glancing at the scar she carried from the beartrap. Thankfully the trap was not Hagrid's thus Wyldfyre had no reason to attack the Half-Giant and even than Hermione doubted Hagrid would intentionally cause harm like that.
Just then a small bell sound was heard and in turn Kettleburn nodded to this. "Well, it seems that all for today be sure to complete your assignments before we next meet, class dismissed." The one-legged teacher said and thus Harry nodded to Beau allowing him to stand up and stretch.
"Thank you for your time today, Mr. Potter, Ms. Granger." The Teacher said as he was happy for them allowing to use Beau and Wyldfyre for his class.
"It was no problem, Professor." Harry responded as he smiled to the Teacher before him.
"Now then I'm certain that you all have to attend your next class soon so hop to it." The Professor said and thus the pair nodded.
"Of course, see you later Professor." Hermione said and thus the pair left with their dragons in tow.
(Later)
Hermione was nearly skipping through the halls as she walked with Wyldfyr. Ever since they got the Dragons and participated in the race the bookworm had been asked about her nearly 24/7. From what Harry could see via Beau dragons tend to form packs or broods with each other and Beau was basically in charge of Wyldfyre in this case. Still Wyldfyre listened to Hermione first and foremost as the red Dragon was no doubt loyal to Hermione. It made sense seeing as Hermione helped her out of a bear trap so long ago.
"This is so exciting Harry, sure we had to miss a class, but we got valuable knowledge should we decide to attend Care of Magical Creatures next year." Hermione said with a smile on her face.
"Yes, but it felt more like we were giving the knowledge this time around." Harry agreed as he followed after Hermione with Beau close on his tail.
"Oh no need to pout we have the Dragons and the information its only right for us to share it." Hermione joked as she smiled to Harry while Wyldfyre smiled as well agreeing with Harry. Beau of course rolled his eyes a bit when he heard this as the Dragon found this a tad bit humorous. "Anyway, we best head to the Dragon Sanctuary after class are over, I'm sure Mortis has more information in his library about Dragon." Hermione said as Harry chuckled to this suspecting that Hermione all but lives in the library at this point.
(Scene Break Later that Day Dragon Sanctuary)
Classes came to an end as Harry, Hermione, Ron, Beau, and Wyldfyre were in the Sanctuary with Mortis. At the moment Harry was in another training session as Mortis walked around him. "Good Harry focus on the bond between you and Beau." Mortis said circling around the boy as he and Beau were currently fighting off balls being launched at them from the pillars. "Both of you have blind spots but where one has the blind spot the other does not." Mortis said making it clear what this was. "When you two are united nothing can escape your sight." Mortis said as Harry deflected another ball that nearly hit Beau to which Beau did the same for Harry.
Their training had made some leaps since the race as Mortis knew why that was the case. Of course, the exercise had its own difficulties for the pair as they tried their best to get through it showing that even if they got the hang of if they still had a long way to go.
Harry kept his eyes out as he saw a ball coming as he call out, "Duck!" at that Time Beau did duck as the fire ball missed them while Beau saw a fast ball coming at them as he acted on his own by leaping over it as Hermione soon ask, "They're going to be okay, right?"
"Not to worry young Hermione." Mortis began as he was overseeing the training as well. "While I shall admit that any and every exercise can be difficult to overcome Harry and Beau will face no true harm here," Mortis said as Hermione then directed her attention back to the training session. Just suddenly many balls came at them at once that Harry and Beau were unable to get out of the way in time. The pair were soon hit by those balls and cried out in pain before they fell down to the ground. Harry was heard groaning, while Mortis said," But it doesn't mean it they won't feel pain if an accident occurs."
Hermione rush over to Harry while Mortis shut down the pillars with the tap of his staff as Hermione said, "You alright Harry?"
"Yeah, just those last ones suddenly all came at once," Harry said as Mortis came up and said, "There will be challenges that you will face repeatedly, but it doesn't mean the outcome will be the same." Mortis stopped before Harry and Beau offering the pair wisdom for them to use. "As you learn how to fight and adopt to any situation, so too your enemies." Mortis said and thus Harry was confused by this.
"I'm still not understanding. What enemies are you talking about?" Harry said as he doesn't know what enemies Mortis is talking about as Harry went on saying, "The only real problem I am dealing with is that Basilisk that is hiding in some unknown chamber somewhere in the school."
"Hopefully we don't run into that bloody thing," Ron said as he didn't want to see that creature again anytime soon as surviving one encounter with it so far and not be killed by its eyes was dumb luck for them as Mortis said, "The Basilisk is one of many threats in this world but not the most dangerous, with your current skill you cannot face the basilisk alone but in time you will, but as right now you can only face a novice dragon rider."
"And what was the last training session for then?" Harry question as he wasn't really fighting, but more dodging as Mortis said, "For you to be prepared to face trained dragon riders that would be more prepared to face you, as fighting is one thing, surviving is another as you cannot win every battle so it's best to sometimes run, so if you can survive this session you would have a higher chance of surviving, now let's do it again and I will set the difficulty higher so prepare yourself."
Harry nodded as he and Beau gotten ready while Mortis and Hermione step back from the area as Mortis tap his staff again activating the pillars as they fire balls at Harry as he and Beau ran for it to dodge them.
(Scene Break London that evening)
Meanwhile in the city of London as Harry arrived using those transport location beacon as many were set around the world for harry to use from the Dragon Sanctuary to get around, while as the Dragon Booster, Harry kept his patrol short and fast as much as he wanted to keep looking for any wizards that doing any illegal activity and so far he hasn't seen anything yet.
With harry landed on the roof top of a building knowing it was the best place to hide at while patrolling as he looked around below and said, "Well another quite night, right Beau?"
Beau gave a small roar knowing it was a quite… a little too quiet to say as there wasn't a lot of people out tonight as Harry looked around and heard some trashcan being knocked over that caught Harry's attention and to his shock to see a tail of a dragon going into a dark alleyway as harry said, "A dragon way out here in the city? That can't be right."
Beau gave off a low Growl knowing something was wrong as Harry said to him, "Let's check it out." And soon enough they were off as they leap over and rush into the same Alleyway as silently as they could unaware of what they were walking into.
Arriving on the scene Harry looked around through the visor of his helmet while he and Beau were uneased. Walking wondering why a Dragon was all the way in the city. But entering the alley Harry saw nothing which confused him for a minute. That was until Beau growled a bit showing that he was uneasy and ready to fight if need be. Just then from the wall a blast went off forcing Harry and Beau to shield themselves from it to show a group of men exiting the scene. From the wall a group of men came out all holding large sacks in their grip filled with what one can only assume was either money or expensive valuables.
When Harry saw this, he whistled to them and thus got the criminals attention. "I'm quite certain your supposed to pay for those." Harry said as this got the crooks attention realizing they just been made.
"It's that Dragon Booster bloke." The Criminal called out in shock as they saw him here.
"Hello." Harry greeted and thus the group pulled out wands on him making Harry react. Firing of hexes and cursed the two obvious Wizards were trying to cause harm to Harry but Harry and Beau were fast and able to avoid it. Beau roared out and fired off a mag shot disarming the men of their wands. Once that was done Beau magged Harry and slung him at the men for a drop kick against them. Harry managed to get one of them and before the second Wizard could respond Harry was already on him.
But just then from out of nowhere Harry was hit by something knocking him down to the ground much to his shock. "What?!" Harry asked as he then heard growling from an unknown source. Just then Beau was the next to be hit by the invisible force and hit the wall for it. Beau and Harry looked around for the one responsible for that attack, but they only saw the men Harry had tried to stop. Looking around Harry heard movement and in turn was hit again by the unseen beast prowling the area. Only this time Harry found the creature biting down on him and dragging him off.
"Beau!" Harry called out and thus Beau acted fast and magged Harry. Harry felt the mag and then saw how it caused whatever had him to glow. The result was what was unseen becoming seen once more revealing it to be some sort of Dragon. Harry was left wide eyed in shock as he looked into its soulless white eyes that glared at him with a killer's intent. Just then the dragon dropped Harry as Beau pulled his rider back to him and thus the second foe opted to make itself seen. The two crooks saw this took the chance and grabbed the bags as well as their wands and made off with it leaving Harry and Beau to be cornered by the two dragons with them. Beau glared at them ready to fight as the hissing sound of these beasts showed they were ready to attack at a moment's notice.
Harry looked around for a way out as did Beau bit it seemed that their way out was blocked by these dragons. "Any ideas Beau?" Harry asked as he rubbed the side of the Black and Gold Dragons head. "Because I could use something." Harry said as Beau then saw something. Beau then growled and got Harry's attention before gesturing with his head to the large trash bin and a few things Beau could claw on. Harry saw this and smiled to the Dragon who was clearly smarter than he let on. "Good idea." Harry said and thus Beau got moving. Acting fast Beau magged the trash bin and forced it forward and jumped over it as he did so. Once the bin passed Harry the two unknown dragons quickly acted and got out of the way of the attack. This gave Beau and opening to move and thus charged at the bin.
Using the Trash Bin as a springboard Beau jumped off of it and off the wall before escaping the scene. The two Dragons saw this and began to give chase to the Dragon Booster. Unknown to Harry and Beau the armor the Dragons were wearing had something shining on it watching the entire scene play out.
(Location Unknown)
"Oh, look at him run." Morgana said as she saw the scene before her via a video feed. A wireless feed was something that the world had yet to perfect and Morgana had already done so. She kept all the fun toys to herself until she grew bored of it and shared it with the world As, she saw the scene, she could not help but find it funny how the Dragon Booster ran when in the past he would have stood and fight.
(Back with the chase)
"Their chasing after us!" Harry called out as he and Beau kept running away from the two Dragons giving chase.
Beau and Harry looked for another way out and in turn avoided spike balls the Dragons sent from their chest area. The first one missed while the second one almost got Harry who was protected by his armor. In turn the second dragon fired off a grappling hook of sorts which grabbed Beau by the leg and thus caused the Black and Gold Dragon to fall down with Harry falling off. The two slid on the ground a bit before stopping but as they tried to get back up the two Dragons were already on them.
Harry got back up and looked in shock as the two dragons looked ready to finish it. The pair were ready to fight back but then to their shock the Dragons roared and began to run off leaving Harry and Beau behind when they had them right where they wanted them. "What?" Harry asked as even Beau was confused as to why they ran off.
(Back with Morgana)
Morgana had pressed a button on her controls calling back the two Dragons as she smiled to the scene. "Well, that was an ideal test run." Morgana said as she relaxed on her chair a bit. "I held my end and now Lucius owes me a great deal that I plan to cash in on when I need it." Morgana said making it clear on what her next plan was. "Besides I still need the Dragon Booster." She added knowing of her own enforcer that played a pivotal role in her grand scheme centuries in the making.
It was no easy task to reacquire the old Wraith Dragons and even more difficult to apply the newly upgraded control great to them. In fact, this was the gears and Wraith Dragons first test run and from what Morgana saw they had worked splendidly. This would serve her goals well as she continued to progress her plans that hinged on what happened in this era. If so, much as one piece was out of place, then all of Morgana's centuries of planning and schemes would come undone for it. But for now, she held her end of the deal and thus simply had to wait for Lucius to arrive to meet with him or contact the Pureblood Wizard herself.
(Scene Break Dragon Sanctuary)
With Hermione and Ron waiting for Harry to return, while Mortis was preparing Harry's next training session, from the transport circle, harry and Beau suddenly appeared, looking worse for wear and exhausted as Hermione take notice of this as she rushes over as she said suddenly, "Harry!"
Drawing Mortis attention as he inspected Harry and Beau, and didn't like what he saw as he walk over with Ron joining as well wondering what had happen as Ron ask, "Blimey Harry, what happen to you?"
"Dragons were in the city, and they suddenly attacked us out of nowhere," Harry said as Mortis take notice of this while Hermione ask, "Dragons in London, how could this be? There should be no way for a dragon to be that close to a city let alone in one."
"I don't know why, but they were there," Harry said as he undid the dragon booster armor with him and Beau returning to normal, as Mortis he came up and said, "These dragons, were there anything odd about them?"
"Well… they didn't look like any normal dragon that we had seen before, they were almost completely black, and they had these strange armors on them with many different rune symbols, they could also turn invisible, and they also had this… crest on them that looked like an eye," Harry try to describe them as Mortis knew what Harry is describing as he said, "As I feared."
"What is it?" Hermione question the dragon priest man as he went over to the large bookshelf and grab one from a high place as he said, "During the first Human dragon war, there were many that try to command many dragons under their rules, but there weren't always enough riders to do this." Mortis explained as Hermione oddly enough was taking notes on this. "So, a sorceress founded a way to control dragons against their will." Mortis revealed as he flipped through the pages of the book.
Mortis soon found what he was looking for as he showed it to the group. Harry was surprised to see what is on the page as he saw dragon with similar look to the ones that attacked him as Harry said, "These are-
"Wraith Dragons were what they were called, fearsome dragons that were powerful in their own rights and harder to tame for some, so those who wished to rule over both human and dragon kind alike capture these dragon and place specially made armor on them to keep them in check and be controlled over as much is hard to say that these dragons were victims to this war as were everyone else," Mortis said as Harry, and Hermione were shocked by this as Ron just looked worry as Harry said, "Who was it that made these armor."
"The one who made them were called Dragon Eye Clan of the Black Draconium Nation, they were the ones that wish to control the world through the Dragon Human War and nearly succeed until the first Dragon Booster came forth and turn to tides and freed many dragons under the Dragon eye clan's control," Mortis said as Hermione soon ask, "So if the first Dragon Booster was able to free these dragons from their control, how did he do it?"
"I am unsure, many records from the Dragon Human War were lost through the ages." Mortis said much to Hermione's displeasure. "I'm sorry to say that I cannot help in this regard." Mortis said as Hermione was saddened by this. These Dragons were being control against their will and there was nothing they could do to help them, as Harry soon said, "We'll free them, somehow, I just don't know when."
"In time you may find the answers, but for now rest and recuperate, you will need your strength for what's coming," Mortis said as Harry asked, "And that is?"
"More training of course, and for you young Granger, I suggest you join with Harry as well as he may need your help in the future," Mortis said as that all he can do for Harry, with Hermione seem a little hesitant to this idea, but Mortis does bring up a point as Harry couldn't do this alone at the moment, as Ron said, "In a way I'm glad I don't have a dragon."
"Don't be so sure Young Weasley, at times dragons would chooses their own riders if the need were to ever arise. It is through the unity between dragon and rider that would help bring out a dragon's true power and the Riders in return," Mortis said while hinting out something Harry or Hermione didn't expected to hear which made their mind tick of a rider bringing out a dragon's true power?
Mortis soon took his leave leaving the golden trio to themselves as he prepared something that could help Harry and Hermione for the battle to come, he just hoped it will help them.
(Scene break, Morgana)
Back at Morgana's office she had called up Lucius via a message so discuss their deal. No doubt he gotten the news of the Dragon Booster being attacked by other dragons her Wraith Dragons. She had been waiting for him and as the dark wizard walked up to Morgana, the ancient body snatcher could not help but smirk to this. Once he got to her desk Lucius took a seat ready to speak as she said to him, "So I take it that you gotten what you needed, correct?"
"That's right, and I heard that you had taken care of this meddlesome would-be hero, Dragon Booster," Lucius said as Morgana had a hidden smile to this question as she then responded with, "I had some of my dragon pets go after him, but it seem the dragon booster had escaped before my dragons could destroyed him."
Morgana was of course lying as she had let Dragon Booster get away on purpose. After all the Dragon Booster played a key role in her plans. She couldn't control the Black and Gold Dragon without the Dragon Booster and she doubt the Dragon Booster would be willing to aid her plans. This left Morgana with her only option being to manipulate the Dragon Booster from the shadows to unknowingly aid her plans and her ambitions.
"I thought you said you would take care of him," Lucius said sounded very upset by this news, as she reply back, "I said I will help you with the dragon booster, I never said anything about destroying him, and beside with how its escalated, the dragons could have been discover by muggles and I would have been harder to hide and keep a secret from both mundane and magical worlds."
Morgana had of course been ready with what to say to Lucius as she knew full well that the Death Eater would not like the fact the Dragon Booster was still alive. But what Lucius was happy or unhappy about was irrelevant unless Morgana could use it to her advantage somehow. For now, it would be best to let the Malfoy family patriarch rant to make his displeasure of things known. Still Morgana wondered just how far the apple had actually fallen from the tree between Malfoy Senior and Malfoy Junior.
"So, you hid like a coward, and couldn't finish the job!" He said sounding very angry now as Morgana didn't like this tone as she said, "I had finish said job, it was you who failed to give out detail of what you wanted done, I taken care of the dragon booster long enough for you to retrieve what you didn't want founded by your rivalry as you said? Now you owe me."
"I owe you nothing!" Lucius said as he stood up from his seat before Morgana snap her fingers and suddenly from behind dropped down two Wraith Dragons. They had caught Lucius by surprised as he turned to see them. Just as he was about to pull out his wand until one of the dragon used its power as it send a dark energy whip towards his cane and took it away from him before he could draw forth his wand in it as Morgana said, "As I said, you owe me Lucius Malfoy, as if you don't follow the agreement we had then consider yourself dragon chow and your entire power base gone, do you understand me Death Eater?"
That gotten his attention as he kept silent as he knew he was back into a corner with no way out as he gave in and said, "Fine, I understand I'll do as you wish."
Morgana smile as she then gave the signal to have the dragon released Lucius and give back his cane. Lucius then grabbed it in his hands and slowly walk out without saying anything. That was of course until he reached the door and said in warning, "Be warned, you will pay for this, as once the dark lord rises up again, you will pay for this transgression."
He soon left without another word as Morgana just kept smiling. The woman then looked towards a window with a glass of scotch in her hand as she soon said, "Oh I'm counting on it, Death Eater, I'm very much counting on it."
Morgana had plans and while she had no illusion the Dark Lord of this era won't tolerate any rivals; he has no idea that he will be serving Morgana. After all it made her schemes easier when she had someone to take the blame for things involving her schemes. Tom had served his purpose wonderfully in the past even when he didn't realize he was her pawn and when he returns, he will once more perform the purpose she required of the man who feared death above all living things.
Morgana had spent countless lifetimes surviving in this chaos that they called life. And for this ancient being it had become increasingly clear that humans had not changed in all the time she had walked the Earth. Violence and chaos, it was in their very nature and needed to be corrected for any hope of true peace to be achieved. Thus, she had bided her time, waited, and continued to do so until word finally came in of a new Dragon Booster appearing. For Morgana this meant that two of the five were now accounted for and thus put Morgana one step closer to the fulfilment of all her ambitions.
For now, the only thing Morgana can do is wait for the last three to appear. Once that was done, she can strategically guide them to the needed Bone Marks and ensure their dragons have all the strength she will allow them. After all she could not risk them turning on her the moment, they find out her true goals. She never understood why humans tend to freak out whenever they learned what her plans were. They claim it's inhumane or not right, yet humans have been prone to do things among a similar mindset sometimes even worse than herself. Still, one cannot fault them for they always fail to see the bigger picture and arrogantly believe they know how the world operates.
Such arrogance and pride have been the downfall of many civilizations and Morgana will be the one to break that cycle. She had witnessed the fall of one great dynasty in the first Dragon Human War and bore witness to a nation fall when World War 1 ended. She would win this time and if she cannot then this world is not worth of such bountiful gifts.
(Meanwhile with Mortis)
Mortis stood in the Dragon Sanctuary as he overlooked the text of the Wraith Dragon. He knew well that many Dragon types both big and small had existed for many ages. But the fact a Wraith Dragon was seen let alone two Mortis began to grow concerned for what was to come. What he had not informed Harry and Hermione, was that the Sorceress who created the Wraith Dragons had not dine to share her methods according to legend that is. If this truly was her work Mortis feared that they may already be on the path to another Dragon Human War.
Thus, all he could do is guide Harry and Hermione as best he could and hope his fellow Priests were ready with the artifacts that needed to be given. As legend foretold only five colors of power and balance when united can stop the dragon human war. And if Mortis hunch is correct then Hermione Granger may be one of the five needed to stop the upcoming war.
