The Daleks desire their help, so that they can defeat humanity once and for all. The Doctor and Princess decide they must play a high-stakes game, and risk everything, in order to defeat the Daleks once and for all.

What if when the Doctor said "Rose! I've just snogged Madame de Pompadour!" it was because they were keeping score? Rose had brought Adam and Jack on board, so it turned into a game for who could get the most attention from the opposite sex. Then when he regenerated it escalated to kisses.
