Leiko was grand. Her kimono was of the finest material, her hair was done up just right, and her makeup was flawless.
The girls watched from a high window as Sesshomaru offered his arm and she took it, they walked gracefully and slowly. Perfection.
Kagome pulled away from the window. "I don't see why we are here; she's perfect for him."
Sango and Naoko looked at each other "I could still have a chance you know," Naoko said bored, she really didn't care either way though.
"Would you really be ok just settling?" Kagome asked, looking at her,
She shrugged. "I would live."
Kagome could not believe someone would settle.
"Let's go to markets," Sango said,
"Can we?" Kagome could use a day away,
"We can ask," Naoko said, the girls agreed and set out to find the Lord, which wasn't hard.
"You wish to go to the markets?" He asked,
"Hai!" Kagome said as they all three stood up from their bow.
"Very well but please take the Monk and my youngest son Inuyasha, I believe his mate-to-be would enjoy female company."
They all smiled and agreed.
Inuyasha huffed, however, "Why do I gotta babysit Sesshomaru's women?"
"We aren't his women," Kagome snapped,
Miroku scratched his head "If you wish to spend this day in peace I beg you to not talk about your brother."
"K, she hates him?"
"That's an understatement" Kagome spoke, hearing them,
"Well I'm sure the feeling is mutual" He huffed back.
Kikyo watched her closely, something about her caught her eye, she walked in silence and deep thought.
Miroku had tons of fun, he kept near Sango and got slapped a few times. Inuyasha stayed away, close enough to help if needed but not close enough to speak to the humans of the village.
"How did you and Inuyasha meet?" Sango asked as they ate some chicken on a stick,
"I was guarding something; he wanted it."
The girls all looked at each other,
Kikyo pulled out a necklace, and Kagome gasped "It that, the jewel of four souls?"
Kikyo raised an eyebrow, then she felt a tug on the jewel, it had been acting strangely as of late.
"Indeed, Inuyasha was trying to get it, instead he ended up with my heart."
His ears twitched in the tree, a blush graced his face.
"Can I, touch it?"
Kikyo held it out, and Kagome reached to touch it, as she did, the jewel's power shot out in a wave of wind, though know one could see it but her and Kagome. Their eyes met.
"Look, my Lord, you brothers Miko and your human and making nice."
Kikyo and Kagome looked to see Sesshomaru and Leiko standing there. Many people had backed away at the mere sight of them. Kikyo replaced the jewel under her shirt and bowed, Kagome did not.
"You should bow to your Lord girl," Leiko spoke, Kagome wasn't going to, instead she was going to be outspoken, but Kikyo's hand on hers stopped her, she glanced at her then slowly, before him, bowed, her hair going to one side.
Sesshomaru looked at her, finally showing respect, but for some reason, her bowing before them did nothing for him.
"Rise," He told them, and they did, Kikyo didn't let her go, he took notice, and he didn't like it. This human rubbed him the wrong way.
"Tell me, Miko, how was it that you were able to tame the half-demon brother of our great Lord, do you plan on sharing your secrets with the human?"
Kagome gripped Kikyo's hand, but before she could speak, Kikyo stepped forward "Inuyasha is far from tamed, my Lady, I am the keeper of the jewel, and he is the keeper of me, one should say that I am tamed by him."
She scoffed,
Kagome respected Kikyo right away and decided to follow suit, after all, it seemed to only irk the girl.
"You need not worry, Lady Leiko, the only secrets Lady Kikyo wishes to share with me are that of a Miko' training" Kagome stuck her nose up high, accepting her fate. Sh
"It is as you said, Lord Sesshomaru, my service shall be needed one day."
Everyone gasped,
"You're a Miko?!" Leiko gasped "I wonder if your father knows, we must tell him at once!" She snapped,
Then a gleam came to her eyes "Perhaps the Lord is right; perhaps we may use your service at our mating should he so choose me."
"Enough," Sesshomaru finally spoke, "Inuyasha." He looked at his lazy brother,
"What?" He snapped,
"Take them back."
Inuyasha jumped down "K, fine, come on."
Kikyo pulled Kagome along, and the rest followed.
Once they were out of site Sesshomaru slapped the demon girl, her hand flew to her cheek "My Lord?" She questioned,
"You were out of line, do not speak for me again wench."
He began to walk away "Yet you let that human wench speak to you so!"
He stopped. "And she has a scar on her person for such liberties be grateful I only slapped you."
He left her behind.
