I'm not going to do a recap for this chapter because I don't really see a need to. So to refresh everyone on what is going on – even though you should still remember, but I can be forgetful sometimes myself – Harry is learning more about a spell I gave him a while back. By the time this chapter is over, he will have it mastered.

"Concentrate, Harry. Feel the soul of the demon you have taken and then summon it," said Death.
Harry took in a deep breath and then held out his wand arm. He closed his eyes to remember what the presence of the demon felt like, which was hard to forget because it was one of those feelings you wish you could forget. Once Harry had that spine-chilling feeling in mind, he flicked the elder wand.
"Trem Animarum*," he called out firmly. The white hand of death came out of the tip of the wand while holding the soul of the demon he called forth. Harry suddenly felt fear. 'What if I can't control it?' he questioned.
"Don't be afraid, Harry," said Death. "If you show it fear, then you will have no control over it, but if you show it who the master is, then it will be completely loyal to you."
Harry took in another breath to calm his nerves. When he let that breath back out he felt his Gryffindor courage rise. He would not be scared of the thing he summoned.
Harry examined the creature's soul that he brought back into the world. It looked the same with its dementor-like appearance, stag-like horns, and black, charcoal skin, but there was one difference: it no longer had legs.
Harry heard a gasp from Zeref somewhere behind him, and it made him wonder why. He'll have to ask him later.
"Good job, Harry. Now tell it to destroy that rock over there." Harry did as Death told him to, and ordered the dementor lord to tell the soul in the rock to explode. The demon just touched the rock with its boney hand and then backed away. Once the demon was far enough away from the rock it laid its hand on, it made a hissing noise that caused the stone to explode. "Good, it looks like you can control it. Now let's put it back within the wand. All you have to do is say 'return', and it will enter the elder wand again," said Death.
"Return," said Harry to the demon. The demon faded into a white, ghostly tendril and entered the wand Harry held out for it.
Death nodded in approval. "If you ever lose control of the demon's soul – or any soul for that matter – you can return it to the wand."
Harry turned to Death. "How many souls can the elder wand hold?" he asked.
Death moved over to Harry and pointed out the bumps on the wand. "You see those? Now, do you see the little indents within those bumps? That's how many souls you can carry."
Harry's eyes widened. "But there are a lot of indents! There are some even in the handle! Are you saying that a soul can be placed in those too?" he questioned.
"Yes, every single one of those indents – including those in the handle – can house a soul."
"That's like an army of souls."
"Ah, but there is a catch," said Death amusedly. "You can only summon one soul of this kind at a time. The Resurrection Stone can summon all the souls you want it to, but the catch for that one is that they are only good at distracting your opponents; they can't be used in a fight like the souls your wand devours."
Harry made a face at that. "That makes sense, but I feel a little cheated," he said.
"Well, there is a reason for why battles were always one on one," said Death.
"It was to make everything fair," said Harry.
"If you want to see it that way, then you're not wrong. Now I want you to summon the demon's soul again and have it fight Zeref for as long as you can, so we know how long you can keep it out for, and to see how well you can control it. After that, I'm going to have you steal another soul."
"Wait, how am I supposed to take another soul in a frozen time zone?" asked Harry.
"Time is the living's weakness, not death's. You can steal a soul from a frozen body, but once time starts up again the body will start to decay," explained Death. "Now summon the demon."
Harry did as told, and Zeref got ready for the fight. During the fight, Zeref was able to keep up with the demon, like he had fought it before. Harry wondered why, but again, he'll have to wait on asking him.
The battle only lasted for five minutes before the demon faded away again. Harry fell on his one knee in exhaustion.
"Why did that tire me out so much?" Harry asked.
"You'll get used to it. Right now you're not, so the strain is taking its toll on you. Once you get used to it, a soul can fade when time is up and you won't feel as tired, and you would be able to summon another soul right after," said Death. "I say you have mastered in controlling that soul, but I get the feeling that you still don't know everything about it. But you'll have to learn about the soul as you go. Now, let's get another soul so you can learn how to summon which soul you want, without getting the one you don't."
Harry and Zeref follow Death deeper into the forest where they find a huge, scaly monster. It wasn't a dragon, but Harry had no idea what it was, Zeref did, however.
"Is that a rollidillo?" Zeref asked.
"Yes and a fully grown one at that. Normally they are scared of loud noises, but this one is stubborn. I decided that this soul would be great for Harry to have when in a pinch," said Death. "The soul is weaker than the demon's, but that will help Harry get used to the strain faster and safer. It will also last longer when summoned. One more thing, it can roll up into a ball and roll over large groups of people if you need to get away."
'Why do I feel like he knows something like that is going to happen?' Harry questioned.
"That would come in handy," said Zeref before he turned to Harry. "What do you think? You are the one that is going to have its soul."
"It would help if I'm surrounded, so I guess it will be okay, but… what if this one has a family?"
"Don't worry about that. These creatures are loners, so this one doesn't have one. Besides, it doesn't have much longer to live anyhow. You'll learn how to pick that kind of thing up without thinking about it later on in your training, Harry," said Death.
Harry nodded. "Okay then. I guess it will be fine," he said as he lifted his wand and pointed it at the rollidillo. "Anima Devoratrix," he cast. The hand of death came out of the wand again, and it grabbed the soul of the creature. Since time was not moving, there was no resistance on the animal's part, so absorbing the soul was easy.
"Good work. I believe that is enough for today, you and Zeref should get some rest," said Death. Harry looked at him confusedly. He wondered why they needed rest. They were souls after all.
Death knew what was going through Harry's head. "You may be souls, but that is where the magic comes from. If you don't rest you could damage your spirit."
Harry nodded; he now understood why he needed to rest. He guessed he should have thought of that after he became exhausted from summoning that demon.
"We'll work on how to summon your new soul tomorrow. After you learn to do that, we'll move onto something else," said Death.
Harry watched Death walk away to somewhere else, but he disappeared from view, so Harry had no idea where he went. Shrugging his shoulders, Harry decided to sit by the lake and waterfall that was in their training area so he could wash his face. He was soon joined by Zeref, who sat next to him.
"Hey, Zeref," greeted Harry.
"Hey, how are you holding up? I heard you got your memories back from Death, but that had to have given you something of a headache, since you got it within one year" said Zeref.
Harry shrugged his shoulders "Could have been worse, I guess. It did hurt for a little, but I bet it would have been worse if I were in my body. Also I could have slept all 7 years, but then I wouldn't get this chance to train," said Harry.
"I told you some of what I went through throughout my life. You want to tell me what happened to yours?"
Harry hummed in thought, thinking of what he could tell his newest friend. "Well… a lot happened, but it all steamed from Voldemort. Ever since I was a baby I had this scar on my head. It turned out to have been a Horcrux, but in the end, I was able to get rid of it.
"I went to a magic school called Hogwarts – I know, weird name. It was there that I met my very first friends: Ron and Hermione. We got into a lot of trouble, but I like to think most of the trouble found me. The first year we tried to find out who was trying to steal this stone for Voldemort, only to be Voldemort himself possessing my Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher – DADA for short." Harry told Zeref his years at Hogwarts and all of the magical creatures he ran into. When he had gotten to the dragon in his fourth year, Zeref was shocked.
"You fought a dragon?!" he exclaimed loudly.
Harry jumped at the sudden noise from Zeref, and with wide eyes he slowly nodded. "Well, kind of. I didn't really fight it, but I did fly faster than it. There weren't a lot of spells that worked on dragons," said Harry.
Zeref sat back again with a sigh. "It sounds like the dragons were a bit different from 500 years ago. Did they talk?"
"No, they didn't."
"Well, the ones after your time did."
"They also seem to be a LOT bigger, if that black dragon we saw was anything to go by."
"Acnologia is one of the biggest out there, and one of the last, but he wasn't a dragon first. He was human."
Harry's eyes widened in shock. "He was human? Is he an animagus?"
"What's that?" Zeref asked.
"You know how I turned into a giant snake? Animagus is a witch or wizard that has the ability to turn into an animal that best suits them," Harry explained.
"Oh, no then, he wasn't an animagus. Acnologia turned into a dragon due to his dragon slayer magic. That kind of magic is too powerful for the human body to handle, so they either went crazy or their bodies would turn into a dragon to fit the magic. I found a way to stop either of these two things from happening, but I don't want Natsu to find out yet. I would rather Igneel tell him."
"How can he tell him? Natsu and I can't find him," said Harry.
"The reason you can't find him is because he is inside Natsu's body," said Zeref, making Harry's mouth fall a little in surprise.
"How…? Why…?" Harry couldn't really form his words.
"A little spell work from me to get the dragons in, and the dragons do the rest. They create antibodies in the dragon slayers so they don't have any of the negative side-effects," explained Zeref.
Harry sighed as he took in what he learned. Dragons were complicated creatures in his opinion. Speaking of creatures, Harry remembered what he wanted to ask Zeref.
"Hey I have a question for you. You created demons, right?" he asked, and Zeref nodded in reply. "Did you know or create the dementor demon? The demon I can now summon?"
"Yes, I created that thing. I based it off of this creature known as dementors. I thought that if I had my soul taken out of my body, then I would die; however, that didn't work. When I created that demon, it could not take my soul. It also started to evolve. It gained the power to create more dementors, but they were stronger than those older ones. Also, both dementors of old and what that thing created would not even come near me. They avoided me because my death magic could kill them," said Zeref.
"Could you tell me what else this demon can do?" Harry asked.
"I'll tell you some other time; right now I kind of forgot what it can do. It was one of my first creations. All I remember is that it can suck out souls, make the souls in plants and stones explode, and move very quietly like a ghost."
"That's all I know about it too," muttered Harry.
"Why don't you tell me the rest of your time in school?" requested Zeref.
Harry smiled cheerfully. "Sure thing!" Harry told Zeref the rest of his fourth year, and then what happened in his fifth and sixth years and why he had to skip his seventh year. When he got to the end of his tale, he said, "When I get out of this barrier, I'm going to find out how to help my friends out of their own frozen time zone. After that, I'll have to get them used to this new world. It took me a while to get used to it. Everything is so different, but not having my memories helped me adjust a lot faster, I think."
"Actually, your friends will be out of Tom Riddle's spell two years before Fairy Sphere lets you out," said Death, startling both Harry and Zeref.
"When did you get back?" asked both magic users.
"Just as you started mentioning about getting your friends out of their sleep, Harry," replied Death.
"Oh," said Harry. "Wait… They'll get out of the spell on their own?"
"Yes, the spell was supposed to hold for 507 years for everyone but the user, but you only came out when you did due to Voldemort having your blood in his veins. Before you ask, blood feeds the soul, so magic is within the blood too," explained Death.
Harry made a face. 'He is getting to know me too well,' he thought. "Thanks for that, but other than learning about magic being in both blood and soul, I'm glad to hear that everyone will be okay," Harry said aloud. "That means I can look for them once I get out. Maybe I could ask the rest of Fairy Tail to help me out."
Zeref smiled for his friend. "I'm sure they will."
"You two should get some shut-eye," said Death. "Tomorrow, Harry, you're learning how to choose which soul to use in battle."
Both Harry and Zeref nod their heads.
"Right."
With that said, Harry looked for a spot to sleep, while Zeref went to the base of a tree he picked out a year ago to sleep. Harry found a thick patch of grass by what looked like a den, and so chose that spot to sleep from now on until the magic lets them out.
"You already know what the demon's soul feels like, so now feel for the other, newer soul. The two should feel very different," said Death the next morning in the training field.
Harry had his eyes closed, feeling out for the weaker soul while Zeref sat up in a tree to watch. Harry could feel the demon's cold soul, but a little further up the front of the wand, he could feel a wild and stubborn soul.
'That must be it,' thought Harry.
"Once you have the soul in sight, summon it," commanded Death.
Harry took a breath to calm himself – he feared that he might summon the demon again. Focusing purely on the new soul, Harry flicked his wand. "Trem Animarum!" he said confidently.
The white, ghostly hand came out of the wand with the soul of the rollidillo. It looked normal, but just as with the demon, its back legs were no longer there, giving the lizard a more ghost-like appearance.
Zeref clapped his hands. "Good job, Harry," he said joyfully.
"Thanks, Zeref!" said Harry, just as happy to have succeeded in his summoning.
"Yes, Harry, great job. Now I want you to return it and summon the demon. Go back and forth with the two souls until you are used to how they both feel, and then we will use the rollidillo in a battle against Zeref," said Death.
"Right," said Harry. He got to work on telling the difference between the two souls, which wasn't very hard since they felt very different. After having no problems with summoning either soul, Harry brought out his rollidillo and used it to fight Zeref, but Zeref was a lot faster than the lizard; therefore, the rollidillo was never able to bulldoze into him, and rolling was the fastest move the creature could use.
This strange game of dodge ball lasted for 20 minutes before the rollidillo disappeared back into the elder wand. Harry still felt the strain, but it didn't bring him to his knees this time.
"20 minutes isn't bad. Most fights don't last that long, so I'd say that's a good time limit," said Death. "Now then, I want you to open up Necromancy and read the first page."
Harry did as told and got the book from his pile, opened it to the first page, and began reading. This page spoke of a ritual.
Necromancy Ritual:
This ritual will allow the user to bring back the dead. To raise the dead, you must draw this circle, but it has to be over the body you want to bring back. You can make the circle as big as you want if you want to raise an army of the undead. The dead bodies can be anything, be they human, animal, or magical creature. The only creature you will not be able to rise is the unicorn, since they are creatures of life.
Harry finished reading the page and saw the picture of the magic circle. The page next to it showed how to draw it.
"We'll work with just one body for now, and luckily for us, there are plenty of skeletons on this island for us to reanimate," said Death, sounding a little too cheery about raising the dead. "Let's go find us a body!" Death picked a direction to go in, followed by Harry and Zeref.
TBC
Should I have Harry in the GMG or should he look for his friends and then show up as the dragons are causing problems? I don't think I really need to do this, since Harry's friends might show up at Fairy Tail all on their own thanks to news clippings and such.
Now about how Merlin could have fought the demon Zeref created, because I know someone might point it out. I know Merlin is a lot older than Zeref since he had been around before even Harry, but it is said the guy is also immortal. He could be alive now as Harry and Zeref become closer friends.
* Trem Animarum = summoner of souls
Harry: This turned into a long chapter. I'm surprised that you were able to write so much for a spell.
Zeref: It wasn't just a spell though. She also had character development put in there.
Natsu: I get the feeling that the ritual you're teaching Harry now is going to be used somewhere in the future.
Enj/Dark: It might, but I'm keeping my mouth shut about it.
Voldy: Potter is learning Necromancy. I can see Dumbles now. He is rolling in his grave.
Enj/Dark: Wouldn't that be calling the kettle black? After all, Dumbledore did use dark magic when he was younger.
Harry: He did? :/
Enj/Dark: He was friends with the Grindewald, remember?
Harry: Oh yeah… -_-
Zeref: Natsu, it is your turn.
Natsu: Please review! XD
