It was nighttime within the city of Celadon.
Within a Pokemon Center, Kim and Leaf were watching a movie while eating popcorn, Red was sleeping on her shoulder. Laughing at a joke in the show, Kim turned to Leaf, seeing Red sleeping soundly on her shoulder before a smirk appeared on her face.
"Your boo is asleep." She nudged the brunette who turned to Red. Leaf's eyes gazed at the teenager, the boy who took her heart. The boy who managed to make her swoon. Seeing his serene expression, the girl nonchalantly parted the hair on his face before positioning his head on her lap and intertwining their fingers with a smile on her face. She then turned to Kim who gave her a shocked look. "What?"
"I'm surprised you have not ripped his clothes off and started screwing him." Kim scratched her head before she pinched herself and then pinched Leaf's cheeks. "I hope Ditty or Zori isn't playing a trick on me."
"Ow! It's me, Kim. I just don't feel like it, you know. When I first met him and saw his face, I would love to but now…I don't know. Just being beside him feels warm. Is that weird?"
"Yes but it's just you." Kim shook her head as they both shared laughed before they let out a gasp, Leaf tearing up when they saw a kid in a cap and blue jacket saying goodbye to everyone before leaving with his Pikachu on his side. "I can't believe he's leaving the show for good."
"Yeah..." Kim took out a napkin and blew her nose. "He finally became a Master. I hope he gets a good rest."
'Interesting show. 4 out of 5.' Misdreavus said as she came out of Red's shadow. Dusclops also came out of his shadow as the ghastly cyclops squinted its eye at the TV. 'Hmm. I cannot help but feel that the main character of that show bears a striking resemblance to the young master.'
'Red?' Misdreavus raised a brow before turning back to the TV. 'I can see it actually. Maybe he's a fan?'
'It is possible...the world may never know.'
The two girls continued watching movies until they fell asleep, their nocturnal Pokemon deciding to turn off the TV and cuddle with them as they stood guard.
It was then morning, the sun rising above the clouds and letting out its rays to the city of Celadon. As a stray ray of sunshine hit Red in the face, the boy shuffled in his sleep before he opened his eyes.
"Ngh..." Red stretched himself before he noticed he was on Leaf's lap which made him blush as he quickly sat up and held his chest. "That's a feeling that is going to take a lot of getting used to."
He groggily got up from his seat and checked his watch before he went to his room, about to shower until he realized that his nightstand light was on. "Oh! I forgot to turn it off."
Going to his nightstand, Red looked to notice that it was not his nightstand light but the container holding the egg that Mr. Fuji gave him that was glowing intensely and moving around.
"Ohhhhh!" He gasped happily and hopped over to the container which alerted his Pokemon as they popped out of their Pokeballs and ran over to the egg.
'Something's happening! Something's happening!' Poli hopped excitedly as he watched the glowing egg.
'Shh! I want to see!' Vulpix said before she hopped on Red's head.
"Oh! It's hatching!" Red said with a huge smile on his face. His reaction caught the attention of his roommates who came into his room, Leaf yawning tiredly while Kim was nodding off. "What's...happening?"
"Red, I know you're used to waking up early but could you tone it down? We went for an all-nighter last night." Leaf said in a groggy tone before she noticed the glowing egg and her boyfriend's excited expression. Her eyes went wide as she shook Kim awake, the two eyes turned as wide as dinner plates while they all watched the egg cracking. Kim then frantically looked for her camera. "Hol-"
"Shut up! Shut up! I'm recording!" Leaf said with her Pokegear in her hands which surprised Kim. "How did you...never mind."
Pieces of the shell started to fall off, Red taking off the glass cover of the container as the Pokemon shook itself out of the eggshell until several small spikes rose from the top of the shell. As the light dimmed, Red noticed something struggling in the shell, putting his hands in the shell and taking out the Pokemon from the egg only to see a smaller shell with red and blue polka-dots around it which confused the trio.
"What just happened? Are we being scammed?" Kim raised a brow before they noticed something yellow coming out of the top section of the shell, two small hands before they wiggled as the shell started to move in Red's hands. Two round feet came out of the bottom section of the shell, the trio heard yawning sounds before the top of the shell cracked and fell off, showing a yellow spiky head, its beady black eyes looking at everyone before it smiled and cooed.
"Ooooooh, she's so cute~" The two girls squealed when they saw the little Pokemon who let out a cute yawn. Red smiled as he lifted the Pokemon in the air, getting a giggle from the infant. "Aren't you an adorable one?"
"Oh! I gotta see what this is!" Kim said as she went for her Pokedex.
"It's a Togepi! They're super cute!" Leaf answered as she gushed at the little egg fairy. "A cute little Fairy type."
"I need more information. Like their whereabouts." Kim said from the other room, everyone hearing shuffling sounds. "I want five!"
"Welcome to the family, Togepi!" Red said with a smile as he looked at Togepi, the rest of his Pokemon looking at the little fairy with differing expression as they welcomed her. The blue-haired girl came back in the room with her Pokedex before she scanned the Pokemon.
"Togepi, the Spike Ball Pokemon. As its energy, Togepi uses the positive emotions of compassion and pleasure exuded by people and Pokémon. This Pokémon then stores up feelings of happiness inside its shell, then shares them with others."
Hearing the description, Kim searched intently for their whereabouts while Red took Togepi and its container and went out the door. "I'm going to take Togepi to Nurse Joy to make sure that she's alright."
"How can you tell it's a she?" Leaf asked, Red's face contorting to one of anxiousness before he looked at Togepi, hearing its feminine-like baby voice calling him 'Da'. "A hunch...I guess."
Leaf was confused until she let out a sigh and smacked herself in the face. "Oh, I forgot. Your powers...I feel stupid."
"It's no problem. I sometimes forget I have them too. I'll be back." Red smiled at her before he left the room.
While the nurse was inspecting and checking on Togepi, the three teenagers waited in the lounge room as they ate their breakfast. Red was slightly worried, momentarily looking at the nursing room before his Meowth hopped onto his lap.
"Red, it's gonna be ok. Your Pokemon is gonna be fit as a fiddle!" Leaf said as she slathered jelly on a loaf of bread and ate it.
"Yeah. Your little baby will be ok." Kim chimed in.
"So she's your child, huh? Then doesn't that mean that I'm the mommy then." Leaf wrapped her arms around Red's neck, her forehead touching his as her smile became bigger. Scooting closer to her boyfriend, the brunette blew into Red's ear before she pulled her face closer to his, their lips almost touching. Seconds felt like hours when he saw her coming closer, Red closed his eyes and mentally prepared himself until nothing came which surprised, opening his eyes to see the two girls snickering.
"Fell for the oldest trick in the book." Leaf laughed along with Kim at the boy's reaction. Red's eye twitched before he thought of something which did not go unnoticed by Meowth who smiled. 'This might be interesting.'
"C'mon, Red. You have to be more assertive." Leaf said, getting an eyebrow raise from her boyfriend. Red went close to Leaf, lifting up her chin as he smiled sweetly at her. "You want me to be assertive? To take action, right?"
The brunette's face blushed before she tried to speak, her speech coming out in stutters. "Y-y-y-yeah. I-I-I always take the approach. Y-you need t-to man up."
"Is that so?" Red said as he brushed her hair behind her ear and massaged her cheek, his lips coming close to hers. "So like this? Is there anything I'm missing, honey?"
Leaf's eyes widened like dinner plates when she heard that word, she lost all feeling in her body which made Red catch her. The brunette could barely stop her fast-beating heart as her breathing became ragged, Kim watched in complete surprise as Red held the girl like a princess. 'This feel like a scene straight out of a princess story. That's gonna make Leaf-'
She saw Leaf's face turned pure red, her mouth slightly drooling as she looked into Red's crimson orbs. Her mind was in disarray as she saw him coming close to her with a worried look. "Are you ok, honey? Or do you want me to call you a different name? Or is it that you want me to-"
"Talk to me dirty, Reddie. You know I like it when you do so." Leaf said as her hands latched to his head before she wiped the drool off her face. Seeing his face coming closer, the brunette prepared himself as she licked her lips. 'This is it! Just like the other night! Imma get myself some actual breakfast!'
She then readied herself, about to kiss him but was rewarded with nothing, opening her eyes to see Red snickering at her along with Kimberley. "Huh? Where's my breakfast?"
"It's on the table." Red said while laughing, unaware of Meowth hopping off his lap which surprised Vulpix. 'Why did you come down?'
'He's gonna regret his decision. Watch.' Meowth said as the rest of the Pokemon.
"That was cheating." She pouted. The girl let out a devilish smirk before she lunged at Red, sitting on his lap and dragging his face to her chest, looking at him and tracing her fingers along his lips. "I'm taking what you owe me. Bon appetit!"
"Wait, Leaf. Calm do-"
Leaf started pecking him on the cheeks, not allowing him to move as she caressed his hair. This continued for minutes, Kim only seeing the boy struggling within the brunette's embrace as she relentlessly kissed him, laughing at his misfortune. "Damn. I guess you gotta learn next time, Red."
"Hel-help me please."
"You made it easier by not having your cap, sweetie." Leaf said as she put her hands through his hair. "Now pucker up."
After a while, she released Red from her clutches, the boy panting as his head hit the table while Leaf had a completely satisfied expression on her face. "That was wonderful."
'That took everything out of me...and she uno-reversed me.' He thought before he heard Nurse Joy calling him. As he went to the nurse, the woman handed him his Togepi with a smile, the Pokemon playing with his shirt. "So…h-how is she?
"Togepi is perfectly healthy." Nurse Joy said before she noticed something. "I'm surprised that you knew that it was a girl. You must have had a Togepi before."
"Uhh…not exactly." Red said before he scratched his head out of embarrassment. "I just read about them in a book and it shows the difference between them through their shell colors."
"Interesting. Are you planning to become a Pokemon Researcher or something?" She asked to which the teen thought about the question before he spoke his honest answer. "I…I'm not sure."
"Well, it's not a problem. Just take your time, Red. Oh! And here you go, for Togepi." The nurse said, handing him some baby Pokemon feeding powder and milk. She then handed him a fresh bottle of milk, the teen thanking her before he returned to his table.
"Is she ok?" The two girls asked in unison, getting a nod from the raven-haired teen who sat down, feeding his Pokemon with the bottle. After the trio enjoyed their meal, they went back to their room as the three discussed where they will be going.
"So are you planning to fight Erika soon?" Red asked Leaf who leaned back on her bed before she looked at her Pokemon. "Not really. I still need to train some more to make sure I can beat her."
"Huh? You're really taking it slow and planning everything. That's new." Kim said as she combed her Purugly's fur and giving a scratching post to Delcatty. Leaf's Eevee hopped into her lap as she started petting it. "Yeah. She's not only strong but she has that annoying fighting style and she has a field advantage. I need to make sure I have everything to throw her off her game."
"Oh! Interesting…" Red said with his arms crossed as his Togepi was struggling to walk. "That's explains why you want to train with me."
"Yeah…" She looked to Nida's Pokeball with a somber look on her face. "I wanted Nida to get revenge. Too bad she won't listen to me so change of plans."
Red and Kim looked at her with concern before the latter looked at Leaf's Eevee as it played with her Vaporeon. After a while, they all went to the back of the Pokemon Center, Zorua and Ditto looking around on Leaf's shoulder before Kim spoke her mind.
"So what are you planning to evolve your Eevee into?" Kim asked as they all went to the training room within the Pokemon Center, Leaf smiled at the question. "Thought you'd never asked. I'm thinking Flareon."
"You have a Torchic though? Are you sure that you want the same type?" Red chimed in, his Togepi happily playing with his fingers. Leaf turned to Red with a raised a brow. "You have a Poliwhirl and Milotic?"
"Uhh yeah-" Red scratched his head with a confused look.
"You have a Togepi and Clefairy."
"Ummm..."
"You also have a Porygon and Meowth."
"Fine, I lost." Red conceded defeat before he mumbled. "I was just saying."
"I know. Let's get some things for Togepi." Leaf gave him a peck on the cheek as they made their way to the department to get items for Togepi. Going inside of one of the department stores, the girls helped Red with picking the baby products along with his recommended list from Nurse Joy. After they were finished, the girls squealed when they saw Red wearing a baby carriage with Togepi happily hanging on the seat belt.
"She looks so cute." Kim said as she poked its cheek, Leaf joining her friend as they both patted the little egg fairy. "Who's a little cutie?"
Togepi giggled uncontrollably which caused the girls around to scream as they watch the Pokemon wobble in its little carriage. After a while of buying baby supplies, the trio decided to go to Route 16 to rest, they all released their Pokemon to play with each other until they noticed Red's bag starting to shake before a pair of long brown ears popped from the sides.
"Uhh, Red? Something's in your bag." Kim pointed at his bag, the bag opening to show an Eevee with a black collar around its neck which surprised the two girls. "An Eevee?"
Red smiled as his Eevee looked around the place until Leaf's Eevee went to speak with it, the brunette noticed the collar.
"What's with the black collar around its neck?" Leaf pointed at the collar as the Pokemon jumped onto Red's shoulder and wrapped itself around Red's neck, Leaf's own Eevee doing the same as Red petted both Pokemon. "It's a DNA inhibitor collar that prevents its DNA from changing too quickly...that's what Bill said."
"DNA inhibitor collar?" Kim raised a brow.
"Evolving hurts him so I have to put the collar so that he does not accidentally evolve." Red said with a sad smile as the Pokemon went back into his bag. "Bill is currently working on a way to make evolution less painful to him."
"Oh, welcome to the family, Eevee." Leaf said as she petted Eevee who fell asleep before she turned to her own Eevee. "Eve. Make sure to be a good friend."
The Pokemon nodded before one of the brunette's Pokeballs opened, showing Torchic who was jumping into the air and ready to fight. Leaf tried to stop the Fire-type but it jumped out of her grasp before it ran towards Red with its beak glowing.
"I guess it's ready to train." The raven-haired teen thought aloud. Letting out a sigh, he took out Turtwig who stopped its attack before pushing it back.
"Alright, Red! Show me what you got!" Leaf said, her Torchic shaking in excitement and anxiety as it tapped its feet on the ground. Red smiled until his Turtwig stretched its body.
"Torchic, Scratch!" Torchic ran forward towards its opponent. Turtwig kept still as the Fire-type lunged at it, the attack barely doing anything to it before it pushed back the fire chick. Leaf was surprised by this when she made her Pokemon use another attack which did nothing, much to Kim's surprise. "How the hell? It didn't even flinch."
Tanking on another attack, Turtwig pushed back Torchic which made the chicken lose its balance before the grass turtle retaliated with Razor Leaf that sent the Fire-type onto its butt. The chicken then went on the offensive again, this time using Ember but Turtwig moved out of the way. The fire chick relentlessly attacked the grass turtle who was able to shrug off its attacks, much to Leaf's shock. "How is Turtwig so tough?"
During their bout, their Pokemon spoke with each other and welcomed the new member: Togepi. Everyone gathered around the egg of sunshine as Luxio acted as the little infant's guard. 'Hey! Careful with the little girl.'
'So you're the new member of Red's team?' Vulpix said as she walked around the egg fairy with a curious look. Togepi started giggling, the group mesmerized by its cuteness before Beedrill made a declaration. 'I like her!'
'You'll start to realize that our trainer is sort of a trouble magnet.' Meowth said as she stretched her body and went to sleep which confused the little Pokemon.
'Meowth, stop confusing Togepi. She just got born.' Luxio let out a sigh as Poli poked the little Pokemon, getting a giggle from it. Red noticed his Pokemon playing with Togepi, a huge smile on his face as he saw the new member laughing innocently.
"Red! Eyes on me, sweetie!" Leaf said, knocking him out of his trance before he refocused back to her. After a while of battling, the two trainers having to go at it until Torchic is satisfied.
"Finally! Torchic is so energetic!" Kim said as she provided the two with bottles of water.
Leaf chugged the water while Red was enjoying the breeze and playing with Togepi. Red then called for Vulpix who roared, the sunlight getting intense which made Kim take out a parasol.
"Alright, Vulpix. Try to store in your Flamethrower." Red said, the fox nodded before it prepared itself as fire started to come out of its nostrils. After a while, the Pokemon closed its eyes, a ball of flame glowing intensely in its stomach.
Kim spoke her mind when she saw the ground under its feet starting to burn. "What are you doing? I realize that you were doing this for a while."
"Oh, I'm trying a new thing. You see, Vulpix is very proficient with its fire and I know its ability increases the strength of the sunlight but there are going to be times that I cannot rely on the sun and it may get weaker. That's the point of this." Red explained which surprised Kim and Leaf, the teen smiling as he watched his Pokemon starting to glow. "It's kinda like Erika's strategy with her Solar Beam."
"Hmm, interesting. Maybe I can use that." Kim said with a smirk, Leaf, on the other hand, was a bit conflicted before she felt pecking on her foot, turning to see a determined Torchic. "Alright, got it. Red, sweetie! Let's go at it a few more times! Torchic wants a rematch!"
After a few more bouts with each other, the two trainers were done for the day as they went to their Pokemon teams, the girls welcoming their Pokemon. As they got their things sorted, Red noticed something's different as he looked around the place, his eyes widened when he realized who was missing.
"Where's Togepi?"
Everyone was shocked before Kim's Piloswine bumped her leg before it turned for them to see a huge red and black centipede dashing down the road as going into Celadon City. Kim took out her Pokedex to scan the Pokemon as Leaf went beside her to read the information.
'Scolipede, the Megapede Pokemon and the final evolution of Venipede. With quick movements, it chases down its foes, attacking relentlessly with its horns until it prevails.'
Seeing the Scolipede going through an alleyway, Red quickly went on the move and returned his Pokemon, sprinting towards the Scolipede that had his Togepi.
'Too bad, kid.' Scolipede said as it darted across the street at an astonishing speed. He tried to chase the bug but he immediately lost it in an alleyway.
"Where did it go?" He wondered as Luxio's eyes glowed as it looked around the place. 'This ain't good.'
Meanwhile, Scolipede was going through the streets, surprising some of the people on the streets. It was about to crawl up a building but it was hit by an Ember, turning to see Leaf and Torchic.
"Torchic, again!" Leaf said while putting her Pokémon above her head. Her Torchic was about to shoot a fireball but Scolipede put Togepi in the way which made her put down the chicken. "No, Torchic! We can't hit Togepi!"
Scolipede smiled before it fired a barrage of purple spikes that hit the ground in front of the brunette. Leaf got out a Pokeball as the centipede escaped.
"Get the hell back here!" Kim ran from down the street to chase Scolipede but Leaf stopped her. "The hell, Leaf? We almost got him."
"We can't. Look." Leaf sent out a Pokeball that released Roselia who absorbed the spikes in the area which took a while. After it was finished, they both continued to chase Scolipede but they lost the Pokémon. "Dammit! Where did it go?"
At the other side of the street was Scolipede who was running towards Route 7, he heard chanting which confused the bug when he looked at Togepi who was singing happily. 'What is she doing?'
Togepi was wagging its hands playfully, its hands starting to glow intensely which confused the bug.
'What the? Oh no...' Scolipede's eyes widened in realization. It then tried to stop Togepi but it was too late as the fairy lowered its hands that stopped glowing. Within an instant, the egg fairy erupted into a flash of light that covered the entire area. 'No-'
Meanwhile, during his search for his Pokemon, Red noticed a beam of light that pierced through the sky like a beacon which made his eyes widen in realization.
"That's Togepi!" Red said as he broke into a mad sprint towards the location. They all were able to arrive to the area in record timing, seeing Togepi on top of a confused and disoriented Scolipede, the bug slowly coming to before it ran away from them.
"Oh no, you don't! Meowth, Aerial Ace!" Red said as he called for his Meowth who rushed towards the Bug Pokemon by using Aerial Ace. Scolipede nearly escaped before a brown blur went around it and appeared in front of it, revealing Lopunny that nearly hit it with a kick.
'Niiiiice job, rabbit.' Meowth smirked, getting on the rabbit's nerves. 'Shut it, cat!'
As they both chased Scolipede, the Bug tried to shake them but it was having issues as it suffered a few blows from the two Pokemon. 'You too are persistent. Take this!'
Scolipede shot a barrage of poison spikes that went to the ground, causing the flow to let out an eerily purple glow which Red noticed. "Wait stop-"
As soon as the two Pokemon stepped on the ground, they were hurt by the spikes. Scolipede smiled as he used the opportunity to escape but it was stopped by a bolt of lightning until it was grabbed by Luxio. 'Don't think you're getting away that easy?'
'Let go of me!' The Bug-type said as they both struggled against each other.
Meanwhile, both Meowth and Lopunny were frustrated as they set their eyes on Scolipede, the two nodding at each other as Meowth spoke. 'I'll attack his back, you'll attack his front.'
'Gotcha! Let's crush him!' Lopunny nodded before they both vanished, surprising their trainers as they both had one focus.
Scolipede could not get the chance to escape when it was tackled into a wall, knocking Togepi into the air before Luxio caught it. 'Gotcha!'
Solipede tried to dash at Togepi but it was knocked into the air by a powerful kick from Lopunny. The bug could barely do anything as the rabbit sent it rocketing to the ground with an axe kick.
"Togepi! I'm happy that you're not hurt." Red said as Luxio gave him the fairy who giggled uncontrollably. Slowly regaining its bearings, Scolipede's body turned to metal before it blitzed towards Togepi, much to Red's concern. "Oh crap! Luxio-"
"Mothim, Air Slash!" The Poison-type was battered by a barrage of air blades that pushed it back, Red looking at the situation before he remembered something. "Meowth, Thunderbolt! Luxio, Discharge, beam!"
Meowth and Luxio unleashed blasts of electricity that immediately went towards Scolipede, electrocuting the centipede. Scolipede got up from the ground and attacked Red who rolled out of the way, the bug not getting the chance to continue its assault before it was by Meowth and Lopunny. This did not stop Scolipede as it tried to attack, Red able to dodge its move before he released Vulpix who attacked the red centipede with a Flamethrower which it evaded. Seeing the battle, Torchic was getting excited before it thrashed around Leaf's grasp, jumping out of the girl's arms before it shot an Ember at Scolipede, hitting the bug which caused it to burn. "Woah!"
"Talk about convenient." Kim said as she watched the bug moving around in pain. Seeing this, Vulpix took the opportunity to hit Scolipede with a fireball.
'Darn it. I'll get you-' Scolipede paused when it noticed the glares from Red, Kim and Leaf as Luxio, Meowth and Lopunny walked towards it, the rabbit cracking its knuckles. 'It's high noon.'
'Noooooo!' Scolipede yelled as the Pokemon beat him up, the teenagers watching the spectacle with differing expressions.
"Damn!" Kim winced as she recorded the scene, Leaf leaning on a wall with a bored expression. "Yep but the Scolipede deserves it."
"Well, at least everything is alright." Red said as he cradled his Togepi, putting it on the baby carrier that he had. Within a single moment, Meowth felt something odd as she looked around the place, seeing a blur going past her and towards their trainers. 'Red! Look out!'
Red heard her before his Vulpix went on the offensive and unleashed a wave of flames which made them heard a cry of pain, seeing a Breloom slightly burnt by the fire. Red held the baby carrier before he noticed that Togepi is missing from his grasp, looking ahead to see Breloom holding both Togepi and Leaf's Zorua, much to the brunette's surprise. "What the? How did it get Zori?"
"Good job, Breloom." The person said in a distorted voice, the trio seeing a masked man dressed in an all-black outfit. The man returned his Scolipede and ran away, the three teenagers chasing him in hot pursuit.
"Damn this guy. Lopunny, Return!"
"Meowth, Aerial Ace!"
"Stop him in his tracks with Air Slash, Mothim!"
The two Pokemon rushed towards Breloom who stood still before it unleashed quick blows at Meowth and Lopunny which sent them flying back. Not having time to recover due to the fleeing burglar, Red and Leaf returned their Pokemon as they dashed towards Breloom.
"Change of plans, take out Breloom, Mothim!" Kim commanded, her Pokemon immediately attacking the mushroom kangaroo in front of it. Within an instant, they all realized that the Pokemon had vanished, looking around the place. "Where did it go-"
Within an instant, Breloom quickly appeared in front of Red, its feet just inches from his face. 'Oh crap.'
Vulpix quickly let out a wave of fire that pushed back Breloom but it went forward again but it was suddenly attacked by Beedrill who emerged from the fire and used Poison Jab that knocked it back. The two traded blows, Breloom's speed overpowering the bee until Beedrill took a hit which managed to hurt it more than usual, causing it to descend to the ground and flinch in pain.
"Ok. Something's wrong. Its strikes are so powerful." Leaf said as she saw it coming towards her, sending out Wartortle who blocked Breloom's attack. Not wasting a minute, Red sent out Clef who swung its fist which the mushroom managed to dodge, ready to attack before it was hit by a drop kick from Lopunny. Seeing the situation with the thief running away and Breloom not letting them pass, Red tapped his shadow before he pointed at the masked man. "Catch him!"
His shadow quickly dashed towards the man, moving around Brelooom as a huge grey hand grabbed the man before flinging him towards them.
"The hell?" The masked individual said as he was falling towards the battle, quickly taking out a Pokeball. "Ambipom, catch!"
The Pokeball released a purple, two-tailed monkey that grabbed the man before it let out a Thunderbolt that warded their enemies away from Breloom. Seeing Ambipom picking up its fellow teammate and face them, Red's expression turned serious. "Great..."
"This is troubling." Leaf clicked her teeth, Kim snapped her fingers as she called Mothim. "Red, you take on Breloom. Leaf, deal with Ambipom."
She noticed the masked man running away again, she sprinted towards him as she waved at them. "I'll try to catch Masky over here."
Meanwhile, Breloom unleashed a flurry of punches which Beedrill tried blocking but it ended in failure as it took a Thunder Punch to the arm that made it hold the injured limb. 'Ouch!'
"You good, Beedrill?" Red asked, getting a nod from the bee as it lifted its arm and dashed towards Breloom. Red watched with a pinch of worry as Beedrill took another hit, turning to Clef as he had an idea. "Beedrill, Clef! Stay beside each other. Clef, defense."
His Pokemon did as told, seeing Breloom was about to go for another punch which Clef blocked before Beedrill followed up with a Twineedle. As their fight continued, Red was observing Breloom's movements with a serious expression.
'Alright, it is fast but...' Red thought as he watched his Pokemon get pushed back by the Grass-type. As he tried again and let Clefairy block another Thunder Punch, his eyes widened when he realized that his Pokemon was able to take the attack without being pushed back. '...it's not strong. It's just hitting their weak points. Which means...'
"Beedrill, Assurance and wrap yourself with String Shot!" Red made his command as his Beedrill then unleash a dark aura and wrapped itself in silk to block Breloom's strikes, the Bug-type able to land a Poison Jab that pushed back Breloom. While watching the battle, Red crouched beside Clef with his hand on its head. "Clef, charge Meteor Mash and wait for my signal."
'Got it.' Clef said as it charged its move while Red is looking for an opening.
Mwanwhile, Leaf was battling against Ambipom, her Wartortle trying to hit it but to no avail as it skillfully evaded the turtle's attacks. The purple monkey blasted a Thunderbolt which the Water-type stopped with Protect, the Pokemon continued firing bolts of lightning until the shield until it's broken.
"Aqua Tail, Wartortle!" Wartortle readied its Aqua Tail and swung its tail, Ambipom dodging the move before wrapping its tails around the turtle with a huge grin on its face which made Leaf worried. "Wartortle! Go for another Protect!"
This fell upon deaf ears as Wartortle tried to use the move which failed when it was hit repeatedly by Double Hit and then electrocuted by Thunderbolt.
"Damn it!" Leaf said as she went to get her Pokeball but another opened, releasing Torchic into the battle which surprised her. "Torchic!"
Torchic did not waste time as it shot a barrage of fireballs that battered the monkey which made it turn its focus onto the chicken. As it did so, Wartortle took this chance to use Water Gauntlets to punch Ambipom in the face which sent it back. The blue turtle then rushed at its opponent with Aqua Tail which the monkey was about to block until it suddenly burst into flames which made it get hit by the attack. Seeing this, Leaf smirked as she congratulated Torchic who was happy before it continued to support Wartortle.
"Time for my counterattack!"
Meanwhile, Red watched as Beedrill starting to hold its own against Breloom, Clef playing defense as it attacked them before the bee went on the offensive. They continued with this tactic, the two Pokemon pushing back the mushroom until Clef landed a punch onto its face that sent it to the floor.
"Nice!" Red said, his Pokemon nodded as they watched Breloom. As soon as the Grass-type got up, it vanished, surprising the teen and his Pokemon as they looked around. Suddenly, Beedrill was hit across the face which sent to a wall.
"Beedrill!" Red yelled before Breloom vanished again, the teen was prepared this time before he made his move. "String Shot!"
Not wasting time, Beedrill shot a barrage of web strings that stick around the walls and the ground as Red waited for the next move. Breloom suddenly appeared in front of Beedrill, about to attack but it got caught in the silk strings which made the teen smile until his opponent started pummeling Beedrill at an astonishing speed.
"Twineedle to intercept! Clef, charge Meteor Mash!"
Beedrill started to retaliate against Breloom, its Twineedle managing to hold its own against Breloom's Mach Punch. Red clicked his teeth as he noticed his Pokemon being overpowered but he could not do anything about it as Clef is trying to charge Meteor Mash.
"Hold on, Beedrill! Assurance!"
After a while, Beedrill started getting more aggressive as its Twineedle that transformed to Assurance, the two fighting at an equal footing until Beedrill begun to overpower Breloom. Red was about to smile but he then noticed a difference in the Bug and Poison-type's attack which confused him. "Wait! That's not as aggressive and strong as Assurance...what's happening with her pincers?"
Beedrill's pincers started to glow, spikes coming out of them before they launched a barrage of white needles that exploded on impact of Breloom, pushing it back.
"Now, Clef!"
Before Breloom could recover, it was hit in the face by a Meteor Mash that sent it into the ground. Red, Beedrill and Clef were watching the smoke as it cleared, they all dropped their guard when they saw Breloom being out cold.
"Finally..." Red said as Beedrill hugged him as he looked around for any other opponents in the area. "We need to get after him."
Meanwhile, Leaf managed to take down Ambipom when her Wartortle landed multiple Brick Break into Ambipom's stomach before Torchic shot an Ember that made the monkey burst into flames until it collapsed to the ground.
"Well, that's two troublesome pests out of the way. Time for the main boss!" Leaf said as she wiped her brow. As soon as they were about to search for the burglar, they heard a beep from Leaf's Pokegear which she took, getting a message from Kim telling them where she was. "She says she's down the road. Let's go!"
The couple ran down the street, the two finding Kim by Route 7 sitting on the burglar and checking her nails with a bored expression. "Hey, you're late."
"Those Pokemon were strong. You didn't look like you had much to deal with." Leaf put her hands on her hips. Kim grinned before she pointed to a pile of fainted Pokemon which the two noticed, the one that caught Leaf's eye was a Magmar and a Toxicroak. "How the hell?! He had a Toxicroak? Why does he have a Toxicroak? How did you beat it?"
"Psybeam." Kim said honestly, her Mothim perching on her shoulder. "It helps alot. I told you, you should start using Misdreavus."
Leaf shuddered when she heard the Pokemon's name, Misdreavus immediately coming out of Red's shadow and blew an Icy Wind at her which frightened her. "Misdreavus, don't do that!"
Meanwhile, Red ran over to Togepi and checked its body, happy that it does not have any injuries. "Thank goodness."
Zori ran over and hopped into Leaf's arms as she tried to move away from Misdreavus who tried to tease her. As they called for the police, they heard shuffling sounds on the ground, seeing the thief thrashing around and trying to escape.
"Damn! I would have gotten away with it too." The burglar grumbled in an angered tone. "This will not be the last of Iron Mike. I could have gotten all of those Pokemon."
"Why don't you steal Pokeballs? You can literally steal those, go to Route 7, or any route for that matter, and catch some Pokemon there. Hell, I think I saw an Arcanine there the other day. Do better." Kim crossed her arms and raised a brow, Red thinking about it for a moment before his eyes widened. "Now that you think about it...she has a point."
"Oh, I understand. Does that mean you're gonna let me go?" Mike, the burglar said, the three teenagers smiled innocently at him before Kim patted him on the head. "What do you mean 'let you go'? You're already caught."
Mike then heard sirens in the distance, his body broke into a cold sweat. The police officers grabbed the man and took him away, the man watching as the teenagers waved at him. "Have fun at jail."
"NOOOO!" His voice pierced the air until he was put into a car.
After a while and taking some rest, the trio went home, Red having a lot on his mind when he went into his room and thought about what happened earlier in the day against the thief.
'It took me so much just to hold my own against Breloom. I had to use two Pokemon just to beat it.' He thought before he looked at his team, giving them their food as he fed Togepi. Taking out his Pokedex, Red checked his Pokemon and their moves until he scanned Beedrill, the results surprising him. 'So it did learn a new move. Pin Missile, huh?'
'So this is what Aero meant. I have grown but not in the way that I should be growing. I can't face Erika nor Blue like this.' Red thought as he cradled the fairy, his Vulpix taking his hat and playing with it. Seeing that it was not too late and his Togepi fell asleep, Red decided to get up from his bed and gathered his items, seeing Kim who was lounging in the living room. "Where are you going?"
"I'm going to train for a little bit." He said as he picked up his bow and his party of Pokémon. "I'm going to be right back."
As he went to Route 7, Red enjoyed the breeze as he took out his team, his party looking around the place before he looked at Aero who was perching atop a tree. 'Another training session? This is stra-'
He noticed the look on Red's eyes before he smiled. 'Alright, let's get starte-'
"You're here too?" Red was surprised by this before he turned around to see Leaf who was walking to him with her party beside her. The raven-haired teenager noticed the girl had braces on her arms as some of her Pokemon got acquainted with his. "So you're training too?"
"Yep! I need to make sure that the next time I fight Erika is the last time." Leaf said with a huge smile on her face. "Since you're here. I don't need to say anymore. Let's train together."
"Got i-" They heard a loud roar, turning to see a huge Houndoom who glared at them. As it lunged at them, the two teenagers smiled as they rushed towards them with their starter Pokemon beside them.
"Alright, Wartortle, Brick Break!"
"Lux, Thunder Fang!"
As they shouted their commands, their Pokemon able to take down the huge hound with relative ease. The two then shared a high five before they begun their training with on goal in mind.
To beat Erika.
Alright, a new member of the group: Togepi. I'm sorry but I had to include my favorite Pokemon in this fic so I'm going to have a lot of fun from here. Also, Beedrill learned a new move. Also, Red and Leaf are about to train for their match against Erika and I'm excited to write out this battle so be prepared. I had some fun writing this chapter so hope you guys enjoyed this.
