I don't own the Loud House.

Welcome back to another chapter of L Is For Love. A few of you left reviews guessing which way this story would go and let me tell you...you'll find out next chapter! Haha, sorry but I had to build it up for a story as unique as this and this chapter will be taking place from Sam's POV. It will all make sense later on, trust me. But it's important for the story that we get a little backstory for Sam.

Please enjoy!

L Is For Love

Chapter 2: Sam's Day

It was a pretty glum Friday morning for Sam as she sat in her bed. She felt like crap but no because she was sick, no. She felt bad because it was Valentine's day and once again, she was sure that no one would give her a love letter again this year. It wasn't like she wanted one because she wanted a boyfriend, no, that wasn't it. But every year since she was in kindergarten, there were always girls who got love letters or confession letters and while most weren't serious, Sam knew that the girls who received them were always flattered.

But year after year, Sam never received one. She had gotten cards and chocolates from her friends and family but no boy or girl for that matter had ever confessed to her. A part of her thought that maybe once she got into high school that the boys would grow up and see what a beautiful and desirable girl she truly was and that at least one boy would confess his love for her. She would probably let him down gently because she wasn't looking for a relationship at the moment but it didn't mean that she didn't deserve to be confessed too!

It was stupid, Sam knew this of course. But she couldn't help feeling like no one thought she was worth it...like she was undesirable and ugly compared to other girls. And she tried not to be jealous but Sam knew that Luna had gotten at least three letters last year from boys and girls. Her best friend just laughed like it was nothing but to Sam, who had never even gotten a sticky note, she knew it wasn't nothing. To Sam, it meant that Luna was more desirable and attractive than her. But she didn't let these stupid feelings get in the way of her friendship with Luna. She just buried it deep inside of her and acted like nothing was wrong despite feeling like the world's ugliest duckling.

When Sam arrived at school, she was greeted by her friends and eventually Luna showed up as well. The two of them joked around for a bit, saying how awkward it was to come to school on a day where couples would be showing off. And Sam noticed that Luna was acting strange.

"Are you okay, dude?" Sam asked her friend.
Luna chuckled awkwardly before coughing into her fist. "Look bruh, I uh...wanted to-" Luna began but she stopped when she reached into her backpack and couldn't feel the letter. She was frozen for a second before she turned around and practically ripped open her backpack. The letter wasn't there where she placed it and a sudden dread began to fill her stomach. 'Oh no...I lost the letter!' Luna cried in her mind.

"Luna? Are you okay?" Sam asked her friend. Luna looked like she was about to lose it.

But as Luna turned around, someone stepped in between the two of them. A girl, a freshman at that, had walked up to Luna, her face flushed from embarrassment and courage and stuck her hands out.

"L-L-Luna! Please accept this token of my affection!" the girl cried out, handing Luna a small box of chocolates and a small pink letter that was sealed with a wax heart. Then before Luna could reply, the girl turned around and practically fled in the other direction.

Sam and Luna shared a look before they both stared down at the box and letter in Luna's hands. At once Sam felt the jealousy that she always felt in the pit of her stomach. She couldn't believe that Luna got another love letter! Well, she could, Sam admitted sadly. Luna was funny...smart, cool, and beautiful. It was a no brainer why she kept getting love letters by the truck load. Sighing, Sam turned around to leave while Luna stared dumbfounded at the items in her hands.

By the time that Luna had realized that Sam had gone, the bell had already rung and Sam had entered their first period class. And the rest of the day, each time that Luna tried to talk to her best friend, another person would give a letter to Luna. Luna wasn't sure what the hell was going on but she had never been so popular before and she almost lost it when Luan gave her a letter as a joke.

"Are you serious, Bruh?" Luna asked her sister when she noticed the sad look on Sam's face as she walked away.

"What? Everyone else was telling you that they loved you, so why not me? I am your sister after all!" Luan said as she defended herself. "Just read it and you'll know just how much I love you. Come on, don't be shy. I incest, get it?"

Luna almost punched her sister. "You went to all that trouble just for that shitty joke, Luan?" Luna deadpanned.

"Okay, okay, okay, I know it's not my best material but it being wrong is all relative. Eh?" Luan joked, wagging her brows at her sister.

Luna grabbed her sister by the shoulders and began to shake her. "Quit it with the lame jokes, Luan!"

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry...I guess I should learn not to keep it...in the family...eh?" Luan couldn't help but make another joke and this time she found herself being tossed into a trash can courtesy of her big sister. "You know that you love me, don't run away from your feelings, Luna!"

But Luna was already walking away from her sister, her appetite no longer there. Leave it to Luan to make incest jokes on Valentine's Day. Luckily everyone knew that Luan liked to take jokes too far sometimes and no one seriously thought that they were in a incestous lesbian relationship. Could you imagine that? Being in love with your own sister? Luna shuddered. Right now wasn't the time thing about dumb things like her and Luan scissoring. She needed to find Sam, Luna could tell that something had been bothering her friend all day.

Luna had meant to give Sam a love letter but since she lost it, she felt it was best to just focus on cheering her friend up instead. And as she was making her way towards hers and Sam's lockers, she realized that she hadn't checked her phone all day. Unlocking it as she walked, Luna saw that she had three texts. One was from her folks reminding her that Lily needed a bath that night, it was her turn after all. The second was from Sam from that morning asking if she had finished their homework. And the last was from Mazzy.

"What the!?" Luna nearly shouted as she read the text. She couldn't believe what she had just read! She ran towards the lockers as fast as she could, nearly knocking over several students as she did. She had to get there before it was too late!

Sam felt more than a little silly and just a tiny bit depressed as she walked away from the Loud Sisters. Sure, she knew that Luan was joking about being in love with her sister. But even if it was just a joke, Sam still felt the sting of jealousy because a part of her wished that Luan had given her a love letter instead, even if it was just a joke. Because at least that would mean that Luan had at least considered her pretty enough to receive a love letter.

Sam just couldn't understand why she hadn't received a single blasted letter! It wasn't like she was ugly or had a terrible BO, was it? Just to make sure, Sam opened her teal jacket and leaned in to sniff her armpit. They smelled fine to her, she did wear deodorant after all. But for whatever reason, no one wanted to approach her for love it seemed. Maybe that was her lot in life, to live alone in the woods with a million cats.

The thought made her grimace and she sighed once more as she continued her way towards her locker. She needed to get her chemistry book out and drop off her literature books. But as she did, she failed to notice that her friend, Mazzy was following her at a slight distance in order to see the moment when Sam got her first love letter.

Sam turned the combination lock and opened her locker with another sigh. But as she did, she heard the sound of paper sliding out and felt when it gently crashed against her stomach. She stared at the rectangular envelope as it fluttered down towards the tile floor and fell flat against it. For a moment, Sam just stared at it, wondering what it was. And then she gasped.

Could it be? Could it really be!? Had someone ACTUALLY given her-HER- a love letter?! She quickly bent down to pick it up and nearly dropped it a couple of times with her trembling hands. She glanced around but didn't see any of her friends nearby. She was terrified but excited at the same time. No one had ever given her a love letter before and the possibility that someone had finally given her one, had finally deemed her worthy of one...Sam felt like she might burst into tears.

With trembling fingers, Sam opened the envelope and read the letter inside. It wasn't very long but it did have a poem inside, one that was probably written with her in mind. And as she finished reading it, the bottom of the page had been signed with L.L. Tears had formed on the edge of her eyes while she read it and when she finished, Sam gasped. Could it be...?

Before she could finish the thought, a shout erupted a few feet away.

"He WHAT!?" Sam heard Luna shout angrily.

End of chapter.
