I don't own the Loud House.
Sorry guys for the lack of updates. I've been busy with life, moving to a new home which has been a hassle and a half. I haven't had much time to look over what I have written in order to edit the chapters. I barely had time to look this one over and I figured I was long overdue in letting you all know what was going on.
I really need a way to let you guys know when I'll be busy. I joked to some friends that I should add updates on my twitter and I think I will do that from now on. If you want to follow me, my twitter handle is the same as the one on here. I do have some stuff worth checking out on there such as my art commissions and art pieces that I draw myself. So I highly recommend that you do follow me so that you can check out my stuff that isn't fanfics.
Anyways, I'll try to post everything by next wednesday but I can't make any promises. For now just enjoy this chapter till I'm able to post regularly again.
L Is For Love
Chapter 3: Lincoln's Surprise
Lincoln had managed to sneak into his school with no issues at all. Luckily for him, he had an inflatable Lincoln double that was stored away neatly in his locker at school. Clyde, his best friend and partner in justice, knew the combination to open it and use it to fool the teachers that he was really there. It looked just like him after all and with a few spare clothes that he had stashed away in the locker, Clyde and the rest of their friends were able to use the double to fool Mrs. Johnson for the first period. When they were going to gym class, Lincoln gave Clyde the signal to meet in the boy's bathroom and they deflated the double and put him away in the locker.
And the rest of the day went without incident. Lincoln felt like he had done a good thing for his big sis and nothing could bring him down. He joked with his friends, pretended to flirt with Girl Jordan when he gave her a Valentine's Day card that he brought for everyone. Girl Jordan flirted back and even gave him a playful kiss on the cheek which was followed by Cookie, Molly, and even Stella, much to his surprise. They had all heard about what he had done for his sister and they wanted to reward him for his good deed. They all liked him as a friend though and Lincoln was okay with that.
But as well as his day had gone, Lincoln really should have known that all good things have to end sometime. And that time came when he walked home from school with Clyde and Stella. They were going to do their homework together then play some Muscle Fish in his room. Stella had beaten them both the last time they played and Lincoln wanted revenge. But as they entered the Loud House, they noticed that there was yelling inside.
"Is everything okay?" He asked as he opened the door.
At once the shouting had stopped. All eyes turned towards the door and Clyde, Lincoln, and Stella saw Lincoln's sisters all standing in the living room around Luna, who looked distraught. But when Luna looked up and saw Lincoln, she glared at him. Lincoln took a moment to notice her red eyes, a clear sign that she had been crying, no doubt upset because Sam had rejected her. He moved in to give his sister a big hug just as she sat up and made her way towards him. He thought that she was going to give him a hug as well, what he got instead was a punch to the face.
There were loud gasps all around the room, including from the front door where Clyde and Stella were still standing. Lincoln had fallen to his butt with his hands over his face, covering the spot where Luna had punched him. He looked up at her with alarm, fear and confusion clear in his expression. But that one punch was all that she was able to deliver because at once, Lynn jumped in and pushed her against the wall underneath the stairs, practically growling at her sister.
"Luna, what the hell do you think you're doing!?" Lynn demanded as she pressed her forearm into Luna's chest, pinning her to the wall.
Luna struggled against Lynn's hold but Lynn was strong enough to keep her there. "Let go of me, Lynn! That asshole deserves what's coming to him!" She shouted.
This snapped Lincoln out of his momentary state of shock. "What's going on? What did I do to deserve getting punched?" He asked her.
But to his surprise, it was Lori who answered. "Don't act like you don't know, twerp." Lori said as she crossed her arms across her chest and glared down at him. The term 'twerp' which she often used as a term of endearment was now full of contempt. It hurt Lincoln more than he cared to admit to hear her use that tone with him. "How could you do that to your own sister?"
"Do what?" Lincoln asked again, not understanding what was going on.
"L-Lincoln's been at school all day." Clyde said, stepping in to aid his best friend and brother. It surprised them all a little bit, even Clyde, that he dared stand up to Lori when he normally would faint at the mere sight of her. But when his best friend needed him, Clyde would always be there to lend a helping hand. "He couldn't have done whatever it is you're accusing him of."
"Yea, that's right. Lincoln was at school with us. And we even walked here together." Stella added. She and Clyde had stepped into the Loud House and had helped Lincoln back to his feet.
Leni was the next to speak and even she was looking down at Lincoln, making the ache in his heart grow. "But he wasn't with us in the van this morning." She pointed out, recalling that they left without him. "And when we got home, like, one of the bikes was gone."
"Plus we heard from Mazzy that Lincoln had gone to our school this morning..." Luan added, her eyes holding the same contempt that Lori and Leni held. "Do you deny it, Lincoln?" she practically spat his name when she said it.
"No..." Lincoln said but he was cut off by Luna.
"See! He admits it, that fucker!" Luna cursed, once more struggling against Lynn's hold.
Upon hearing Luna curse him, several of the younger louds plus Clyde and Stella gasped and Lynn slammed Luna against the wall once more, cracking the sheetrock.
"Say that again Luna and you won't be saying anything for a week!" Lynn warned her.
Seeing that Lynn was serious, Lori made to go and aid Luna when Lucy stood in front of her. "Move aside, Lucy, this doesn't concern you."
"Anything that involves my sisters and brother concerns me, Lori." Lucy said, a rare tinge of emotion in her voice. "You are all assuming things without hearing Lincoln's side of the story. If you truly love our brother then hear him out like you should have done all along."
"Yea!" Lana called out from her spot on the couch. She and Lola were standing on the couch so as to be able to see Lynn pin Luna against the wall.
"What's there to hear?" Lola asked, her tone similar to Lori's. "We all know how Lincoln likes to plan behind our backs. He probably set the whole thing up!" She accused.
"While Lincoln is quite intelligent, I do not believe him capable of hurting his sister or any of us like that." Lisa spoke up from the ground while holding Lily, who looked upset that her siblings were fighting.
"Okay, enough!" Lincoln shouted as it appeared that the twins were about to start fighting once more. All eyes turned back to him and he stood up tall. "First, I don't know what's going but someone needs to tell me right now because I know that you're wrong. And second, Lynn, let Luna go."
Lynn looked over her shoulder towards her brother and saw the look in his eyes. With a nod of respect, she glared once more at Luna before she backed away and stood in between them and Lincoln.
For a moment the only sound was that of Luna panting. She had struggled pretty hard against Lynn's hold and she hadn't been able to break it. Once she regained her breath, she sniffed loudly before wiping her eyes with the back of her hand.
"You stole my letter from my backpack and gave Sam yours instead." Luna told him.
And at once, Lincoln understood what had happened. It was so stupid to him that such a misunderstanding had happened that he couldn't help it. He laughed. This, however, had been the wrong thing to do because Luna lunged at him and Lori did as well. Lynn managed to grab Luna's wrists before she could grab Lincoln but she wasn't able to stop Lori, who grabbed the front of Lincoln's shirt and lifted him off the ground, cutting his laughter short.
"You think this is funny, you prick!" Lori shouted at him as she shook him once. "How could you stab your own sister in the back!" And with that, she threw him onto the ground roughly.
Lincoln landed with a yelp onto the carpet and he looked angry now. "I didn't stab her in the back!" He shouted. "I found Luna's letter at the bottom of the steps and I nearly broke my neck when I slipped on it!"
"If that's true then why didn't you call or text her about it?" Luan asked, clearly not believing him.
"Lynn wet my phone and Lisa is still fixing it, right Lisa?" Lincoln explained, looking at his second youngest sister for support.
"That is correct. I have his phone in my room and I will have it repaired by tonight." Lisa said, nodding.
"So why didn't you, like, use the house phone?" Leni asked in a moment of brilliance.
As one, they all looked towards the home phone that was sitting on the table next to the couch. They all tilted their heads slightly like they just realized they still had that.
"I uh...forgot we even had that." Lincoln admitted and he could see that he wasn't the only one. "But I didn't want to let Luna's day be ruined so I grabbed a bike and pedaled as fast as I could towards the high school." He quickly explained the events and by the time that he had finished, Luna was looking furious. "I swear, I didn't even open the letter! If you ask Sam, she can show you the envelope and you will see my footprint on it."
"Yea right!" Luna spat. "Mazzy told me the truth! She said that she saw you in our school and that you looked nervous, sweating bullets-"
"Because I pedaled quickly!" Lincoln interjected but Luna continued on.
"-and your face was red from blushing and that you asked her for help finding Sam's locker so that you could confess your love for her! She said that you said you were doing this so that you could marry her!"
"What!?" Lincoln, Clyde, and Stella said at the same time.
But Luna wasn't done. "She said that you blushed when she mentioned that if things worked out between you two that Sam could be part of the family!"
Clyde and Stella gasped, turning to look at their friend. "Did you really say that?" They asked at the same time.
"No!" Lincoln protested. But then he stopped. He did recall that part of the conversation. "Well, I did agree that if things worked out that Sam could be part of the family but I never said that I wanted to marry her! I was referring to you!" He pointed at Luna who just huffed.
"Oh yea, then why did you tell Mazzy that it meant a lot to you that she helped you find Sam's locker? Huh, dude? Were you hoping to confess to her all this time? Did you fantasize about her giving you a kiss?" Luna asked him, taking a step towards him, bumping chests with Lynn. "Tell me the truth, you think she's hot, right!"
Lincoln, who felt like the walls were closing in on him, took a step back. He wasn't sure what was going on but it was clear to him that Luna wouldn't be able to think clearly while she was upset. But he didn't know what to do to calm her down. The only thing that he could think of was to just answer honestly.
"It did mean a lot because I was trying to help you, Luna. I swear to god I was!" Lincoln said, hoping to reason with her.
But Lola shouted. "See! He didn't deny that he thinks Sam is hot!"
"You fucker! You did this just so that you could fuck her, huh!?" Luna shouted again, trying to push past Lynn but Lynn was not budging. "You prick! You fuck! You fucking bastard!"
At this time, from the doorway, which had remained open, a voice called out. "That's enough, Luna!"
Everyone turned to see Sam standing in the doorway and she looked like she had been crying as well. She marched over to Lincoln and with a glare towards her former best friend, she leaned down and placed a kiss on his lips. All was quiet for a moment as everyone stared at Sam in shock, including Lincoln. And all hell broke loose.
