It had been many years since Bagheera found a baby Shanti abandoned in the jungle and gave her to be adopted to the wolf-clan. She'd grown into a strong, capable jungle girl. purple loincloth and chest bindings concealing her modesty.
All in all things were happy...until HE came prowling about...
Shanti stood before the wolf council.
"Shanti, Shere-Khan prowls the jungle. He's made it clear that he wishes to end you."
Shanti says nothing, she waits for her elders to finish respectfully.
"Now...were rather split on this...on the one hand you've proven yourself of being able to look after yourself...on the other hand...Shere Khan is one of the most feared creatures in the jungle for a reason...and many of us wonder if it might be best to just send you back to your own people..."
Shanti was horrified by the thought of being forced to leave her family...however, she continued to remain quiet as her elders spoke.
"Finally...we've decided on a test. You are to go to the man-village, you are to find something to fight shere-khan with and return it to us. All the while not revealing your presence! If you do this, and what you find is good enough, we will allow you to remain with us."
Shanti bowed, "I will not fail you elder."

Shanti was stunned...she hide in the bushes and watched the humans...she'd never seen people like her before...
But she was even more stunend by their 'red flower's'- or 'fire' as they call it -such a useful thing! With it she could improve the livelihood of her tribe and defeat Shere-Khan!
Only problem was...she couldn't think how to take it with her...
Couldn't take it with her directly, that would burn the jungle and that would be stupid...
She couldn't get closer to observe, she was forbidden to reveal her presence...
So where did that leave her...?
...maybe she could abduct one of them? Make them teach her? But that would be a hassle...it would have to someone puny, useless, annoying, someone no one would miss, and couldn't fight back against her...
"MOWGLI! YOU WORTHLESS, LAZY LOUT! STOP GOOFING OFF AND COME HELP!"
And then Shanti was treated to the sight of the most klutziest and ill-suited for his environment man-cub flopping to the ground in panic as he tried to get where the voice was yelling, he was a scrawny thing that wore nothing but a little red loincloth...
Shanti smiled, she had her target...
