During free period, Carrie walked around the library. She was trying to find the hall with the right set of books. The hall that Carrie needed was "Psychology". As she was using her hand to browse on the book shelf, she stopped her hand on a certain book and picked it off the shelf. When she got it off the shelf, she looked at the cover and read it, "Child Care: The Psychological Look Into A Child's Development And Needs". Carrie smiled.
"Found it.",she mumbled to herself.
Carrie's ears perked up. She heard giggling. She hid the book behind her back. She peaked through to see who it was. She looked through and saw it was Chris and one of her friends, Norma! They were laughing about something that they were talking about. Carrie was nervous, so she looked back at the book in her hands.
"If Chris sees me with the book in my hands, who knows what will she do?.", thought Carrie to herself.
To avoid conflict, Carrie went the other direction. That way Chris and Norma wouldn't see her. Carrie made her way to the front desk to rent the book, but ,as she was on her way,she spotted another one of Chris's friends, Helen! Helen was at the front renting a book which made Carrie sweat. She was worried if Helen spun around to see her holding the book,she would tell Chris! Carrie let out a sigh as she moved her arms forward with the book in her hands,and covered the title. She walked straight to the exit of the library. Once she had left the library,she looked both ways…the coast was clear. As Carrie was heading towards her locker to put the book away, she bumped into someone causing her to fall down. That person turned out to be Sue Snell.
…"Hey Carrie, I want to say to you that I am…" ,began Sue and before she could finish..
She noticed that there was a book in Carrie's hand! Sue was confused what the book was that she had.
"What is that you have in your hand?" ,she asked.
"Nothing!", shouted Carrie.
She ran as quickly as she could while Sue watched from the distance in confusion.
