Guest - I actually have thought this through. The funny thing is, I wasn't the one who thought of it. Superfluffy (the main person and the reason Secret Wars is even happening) was the one who came up with the idea, I just added my own ideas onto it. When we came up with Battleworld, we decided to come up with possible ways to make sequels. So, we thought of Bill Cipher coming to be the villain for Secret Wars 2, and others were considered for the next one.
I have also already used the concept of the Multiverse of Madness in my story "Across the BRANCHES," which followed a multiversal storyline with a multiverse Spider-Man as the main antagonist going up against Morlun, the "Spider-Man Killer." The Across the Spider-Verse movie is recent, but we've had this story in the works for the past two years.
Spot was never intended to be an antagonist in Secret Wars, because we never saw him as a necessary character. However, I do plan on using him as the antagonist for my Madame Web origin story, following Julia Carpenter before she becomes Madame Web, as she tries to stop Spot. The Batman Who Laughs (the main antagonist of the first Secret Wars) and Bill Cipher (the main antagonist of this story) are pawns for Barbatos, the leader of the Dark Multiverse. Spot isn't from that universe, so he isn't a concept character for anything going on here.
Lian Yu
Oliver was just... standing there.
He stood there, while Peter and Barry were left in shock and terror, unsure of how they should react. They were staring at their best friend, who had sacrificed his life during the Crisis on Infinite What If's years ago.
Oliver stepped forward, while the other two retreated a step back. They weren't quite sure if this was some sort of illusion or trap designed to trick them into a false sense of security.
"No, no, no," Barry said, raising a finger to what he assumed was an illusion.
"Stay right where you are," Peter demanded as he prepared for a fight. "Who the hell are you? Is that you, Chameleon?"
"The Cham- Peter, I'm not the Chameleon," Oliver promised his friend.
"What about an LMD? Are you one of them?" Barry asked as they both freaked out.
"Guys, you both need to calm down," Oliver said in a calm tone.
In shock and horror, Peter exclaimed, "You're not real. You can't be real. You died."
"Dying is the easy part," Oliver says, making no sudden movements to spook his friends. "It's those who keep going that make them true heroes."
Barry and Peter looked at each other, both questioning where they were. They recalled being hit and injured, and somehow ending up in this location. Then they realized that neither of them had any personal ties to Lian Yu, which was where they assumed they were.
Peter exclaims, "Is it really you?" as he realizes his spider senses never alerted him to any danger.
Oliver gave a simple nod and smiled reassuringly. "Yeah. It's me."
Peter and Barry ran toward their friend and enveloped him in a tight embrace they had never given anyone before. They had missed Oliver over the years at every gathering when they met up as the Justice League and at every event in their lives, from weddings to other get-togethers. Oliver was always missed by all of them, and they wished he could have been there with them to celebrate the life he gave them.
"Okay, okay," Oliver said, not going to be the first to admit he missed them. They may have driven him crazy, but they were practically the brothers he never had. But that didn't mean he missed being engulfed in their love like this. "Okay, let go." Neither of them moved. "Alright, let go!"
Peter was the first to let go, and Barry was quick to do the same. "Wait," Peter said, "if you're here..."
"You're not dead," Oliver quickly assured them. "You were close to death, so I was able to connect with you."
"Wait, all we had to do was get close to death for you to contact us?" Barry asks.
"Talk about hard to get ahold of," Peter quipped. "How did you do that?"
"I simply delayed your return," Oliver explains to both of them. "Because I needed to talk to you about the danger you are now facing."
"We got the gist already." Peter was sorry to tell their friend. "Bill Cipher is trying to conquer the world."
"Not just Earth-616," Oliver quickly corrected Peter, getting confused looks from both of them. "If Bill Cipher conquers Earth-616 and lowers the barrier between dimensions that Madame Web had placed, he will create a bridge between your dimension and the Dark Dimension."
Barry wonders, "What does that mean?"
"The Darkest Knight and Bill Cipher and his henchmaniacs aren't the bosses of this operation," Oliver warned them both. "There is a much bigger threat who is above all of them. His name is Barbatos."
"Who is Barbatos?" Peter wonders.
"He is a monster worshiped as a god in the Dark Multiverse, and he possesses the power to back it up. Secure within his own dimension, he is no problem." Oliver explains to them. "But should he manage to escape and enter your own, he would be capable of conquering the multiverse with ease, much like a knife slicing through butter."
EARTH-616, TRISKELLION
Ava screamed as she shoved a bunch of papers and technology off of Peter's desk, leaving deep claw marks on the desk itself. She panted and growled, not unlike a tiger, and ripped the desk from its moorings, throwing it into the air.
"Did you let all your anger out, or do you need more desk space?" Angelica asked sarcastically. Ava snarled at her, causing Angelica to back off a little. "Sorry," she said.
Ava couldn't believe she had gone against Peter's first rule in training: never underestimate your enemy. "We can't reach Peter if Cipher and those goons are in the way," Ava said. "And there is no way we can just get past them."
"We lost Tommy, Tina, Peter, and Barry," Kara said in disbelief.
"Well, two of them are currently in the medbay. Frankie and Miles are keeping their eyes on them." Caitlin-1 was happy to hear that Barry and Peter had been found and rescued. But she was concerned about the twins and wondered what happened to them. "I just hope the kids are okay," she said.
Well, what do we do now?" Mia asked. "There has to be something we can do."
Cassie said, "We might have an idea." As she and Morgan approached the small group.
Thompson asks, "What's that?" and adds, "We are open to all suggestions."
"The Framework has a failsafe installed where anyone can evacuate if there is no operator," Morgan explained as she placed down her holo-tablet. "But it's recommended that an operator stays with the person at all times to get them out."
"What's the failsafe?" Caitlin-S asks her.
"It carries from location to location," Morgan said, regretfully. "Depending on the location and mission depends on the failsafe. It could be a tree, a lava pit, just about anything anywhere."
"Great," Courtney groaned, wondering what to do next. "So, what's the plan?"
"We need to go in and wake them up from the inside," Ava said, starting to see what she meant. "Bring them to the failsafe ourselves."
"So, you want us to take a trip into The Matrix?" Cisco asked worriedly. "Am I the only one who's seen any of those movies?"
"It's the only way to do this." Cassie was sorry to admit it. "If we were to shut down the Framework, it wouldn't do anything for them. There are backup servers around the multiverse, too many to pinpoint and too many places to hide."
Morgan was already hard at work looking into the coding and was looking for their avatars. "It seems that Peter also made a dozen of our own Avatars in this world. I have about a handful of us located within."
"So, we can just hook ourselves up to these avatars?" Cindy Burman asks them. "Like in that blue people movie?"
"Something like that." Morgan saw it would be easy.
"Sounds easy," Peter-2 said as he spun around in his chair. "Too easy. Come on, people, where's the catch? What is it?"
"Everything that happens in the Framework will happen to your real body. To an extent." Cassie informs them.
"If you're in the Framework for too long, your body can deteriorate in reality if we don't care for your bodies correctly," Morgan added.
"If you die in the Framework, you die in reality," Cassie said as she looked over the changes. "They altered the code so instead of waking you up; it'll basically kill you."
"Whose avatars did you find?" Ava wondered.
On the screen, Cassie quickly displayed for them all of the Avatars that they had discovered. What she pulled up were Peter Richards/Barton, Jemma, Cindy Burman, Eli, Ava, Cisco-S, Firestorm (Stein and Jaxson), and Alice.
"These are all of the ones that I managed to pinpoint." Cassie was sorry to say.
"Wait, how am I there?" Cindy asks in confusion.
"The Framework was connected to the universe, meaning that people you have never even met before are in there," Alice explains to her.
"So, the multiverse is merged in the Framework?" Caitlin asks.
"It's one of the simulations," Cassie explains.
Frost says, "Hell of a simulation."
"So, we just hook up to this machine, and we enter the Framework?" Eli asks.
"And you are the only ones who can," Morgan confirmed.
"Okay, then you guys better go and get ready for that," Michelle stated as she eyed the group. "You be prepared to enter a whole new world." She then looked to everyone else, old and new friends. "And the rest of you... Get to work on finding these monsters."
"You sure about this?" Ava asks. "I can stay here if you think you might need me."
"No," MJ stated as she knew it was time. "It's time for Project S."
"What-what is project S?" Eli asks.
MJ didn't answer as she approached a portion of the wall and placed her palm against it. Once she did, a safe appeared and they saw that it was empty. On the display was some sort of suit that had no headpiece on it. It was similar to Peter-2, Peter-1, and Cindy M.-2's suits. Instead of blue, it was white with a lot of technological features to it. It wasn't like a normal suit; it had something special about it. Instead of eye lenses, there were a pair of goggle lenses to take their place, and her hair could flow freely within the suit.
"What the hell is that?" Alice asks.
"This is my ticket to join the fight," MJ explained as an alert went off indicating there had been a shift in the Quantum Realm. They then watched as the Waverider finally arrived right outside their window, and the Triskellion opened the landing bay. "Looks like our friends have finally arrived."
CHAPTER 3
NOT SUCH A WONDERFUL LIFE
The Legends parked the Waverider in the landing bay and quickly made their way up to the main lobby of the Secret Warriors. They were shocked when they looked around and noticed just how many people there were and realized this threat must be big.
Whoa, looks like we have a couple of new faces around here," said Peter-65 as he saw the Incredibles and the Spider-Man that was with them. "Must be serious."
"You have no idea," Ava said as she approached them. "J'onn."
John worked quickly as he entered their minds and informed the rest of the Legends about what had happened. Everyone was left in shock and a small amount of horror with everything that had occurred.
"Whoa!" Sara was the first to find her bearings. "That...is a lot to take in."
"Where's the Englishman?" MJ wonders.
"Rip? He's gone. Left us a short while ago." Peter-65 explained.
"So, Bill Cipher, a giant pyramid, wants to conquer the multiverse?" Felicia asked. "Oh, and thanks for the recap of who everyone was. I have a feeling that was specifically targeted at me."
"Considering the fact after everything we have been through last year, I would hope so," Lane commented.
"What's the vault?" J'onn asks.
The Legends recalled what happened during their time and remembered what they found. When they returned to the Waverider, they showed everyone the vault that came with the Speedster Gun to stop Thawne.
"These weapons were created specifically to fight in this war?" Ava asks as she realizes this could be a big help.
"Something like that," Lane said as he strolled over and activated the message. "We found this along with it."
"Sorry to break the rules of time travel like this, Captain Hunter. But I need to warn you that something is coming. Something bigger is approaching, and it's because of my actions that have caused this to happen. So, I need you to keep what I'm about to tell you a secret. Especially from the other Legends. Battleworld was just the beginning...if we don't stop him before it begins, this battle of tomorrow could turn into a war. A war...for the future."
"Oh, god!" Ava exclaimed in worry.
"That's where my future happened," Mayday tells them. "The entire world is a desolate wasteland."
"She's from the future?" Nate asks.
"Long story," Courtney and Peter-2 said as they passed him.
"Wait, doesn't that mean that we survive this?" Peter-2 asks.
"Time doesn't work like that." Lane was sorry to admit it. "It could mean a bunch of things. Things can change or be altered. This could be from one timeline that didn't end well for us, or it could mean we survive this war only for another to start."
"We need to make sure everything stays on the right path," MJ stated. "Gear up. Please take all of these weapons and bring them to the science experts. Everyone else, gear up to enter the FRAMEWORK."
The Fearamid
Bill Cypher looked out from the largest window of the Fearamid in Washington as the citizens ran in terror as nightmares roamed the streets, eye bats turning people to stone with their gaze and carrying them away. He was enjoying the terror and fear that all of his monsters had caused throughout the world.
Ah, it feels good to be the king," Bill said as he took a sip, using his eye as a mouth.
"Bill," the Enchantress said, floating up to him with some news. "Our spy inside the group has learned that some of those heroes have plans to enter the Framework. To try and rescue their friends."
Bill didn't even take it seriously; he just broke out into laughter.
The Enchantress was a little confused by that. "I feel like you should be taking this a bit more seriously."
"Oh please," said Bill, not at all intimidated. "The Framework is the most diabolical prison I've ever constructed. It would take a will of titanium to make it through. And even if you did manage to get out, there's no telling the lasting implications of the Framework's effects on your mind! This is going to be great; I can't wait to watch!"
Triskellion
Those few whose Avatars were located were brought to a medical ward for comatose patients so that they could keep monitoring their vital signs from the base. They were being fixed up and would be watched over by Jemma and Caitlin-S.
"Okay, so, please, for my sake, explain this again," Peter-2 begged them, unsure if he fully understood what he was signing up for.
"How many times do we have to go over this?" Jax asked.
As many times as it takes to make sure I understand what we're doing," Peter-2 said worriedly.
Just do it, he isn't gonna stop." Cindy B stated.
"You're going to what is practically a parallel universe to our own," Caitlin said as she hooked up some devices on top of his head. "It could look anything like any of the universes that Peter has ever visited."
"These devices will connect your minds to the Framework," Jemma continued as she worked on connecting herself up. "And they'll allow us to see what's going on with you from here."
"Once you're inside, meet up at the destination we predetermined," Eli added as he gestured to the location, which was the fountain in New York. It seemed that was where everyone else would be located.
"Once we find Director Parker and our friends from Earth-S, wake them up so they can send us a message on where they are so we can save them," Cisco finished explaining after he got set up.
"Okay, and how will this feel?" Alice asks as she gets prepared, laying back down on the bed. "Like, give me a scale from one to ten, how will this feel?"
"Uh… I say maybe a 6," Caitlin-S decided to go with it as her answer. "7 at best."
"Seven?" Cisco asks in fear.
"It's like connecting a device to the internet. The moment that we discover the wavelength that Bill is keeping it on, you guys will-" Jemma was explaining when the room was filled with screams.
All of them let out blood-curdling screams as they felt their minds being practically ripped from their bodies and flung into the universe. Then, their brains were picked up and flung across the universe until they found their way to the Framework. They felt as if their minds were being ripped from their heads and literally downloaded into the Framework as if it were nothing.
Lian Yu
Oliver looked up at the bright sky, worrying. "Bill Cipher is about to begin his attack on the multiverse. Your friends have just entered the Framework to rescue your other friends who were kidnapped. Tommy and Tina are currently being held hostage somewhere I can't see them."
Peter asks in shock, "Tommy and Tina? They're being held hostage?"
"We need to get back there and save them," Barry said with concern.
"You need to send us back," Peter begged Oliver. "We need to go back."
"You have the power of a god, don't you?" Barry asks him.
"That was only during the Crisis," Oliver says. "Right now, especially now, my powers are limited. I can send you back, but what then? What's the plan?"
"We will make it up as we go." Peter shrugged.
Oliver chuckled as he should have expected that to be the answer. "I should have figured you never had a plan." He then ripped off the gloves he was weeing and smiled. "You guys sure you want to do this?"
Barry and Peter nodded, knowing they needed to go back and save their world. Oliver smiled and saw that as their final answer. He then raised his fists and punched the two of them in the face.
EARTH-616
Barry and Peter gasped as they woke up, startling the people in the room because they hadn't expected them to wake up so soon. Frankie was about to attack, but she calmed down when she realized who it was.
Frankie exclaims, "What the hell?" in shock.
"Don't scare us like that," Miles sighed in relief.
"Ouch, that hurts," Peter groaned as he held his face.
Barry asked, "Did he have to go for the nose?"
"Let's just say I got some enjoyment out of it," Oliver's voice filled the room, causing everyone to jump when they looked over and noticed that he was there. He was standing in the middle of the Triskellion. And it wasn't just him, it was him in his Green Arrow attire. He was there. Oliver Queen was in the land of the living. "For all of the years that you two tormented me."
"Oliver?" Miles and Frankie ask in shock.
"Wait, you came back, too?" Barry asks as he and Peter get off of the medical beds.
"It's only temporary," Oliver tells them. "I can only intervene when the multiverse is in danger. Last time, you moved too fast for me to catch up and I needed to let it happen."
"I think you missed me," Peter joked.
Oliver raised his hand, summoning his bow from Earth-Prime into his grasp. "Not as much as I've missed this," he said with a smile as he looked over his old bow. He spun the bow in his hands to get used to it again and was now ready for a fight. "What do you say we go and kick some ass?"
"So, these weapons can help us win?" Chris asks as he looked over some sort of missile launcher-looking weapon. "What does this one do?"
"Speedster-Cannon," Lane explains to his friend. "We used that against Thawne during our fight to get the Spear of Destiny."
"We need more of that story later," Emily comments.
"What do we do from here with all of this?" Violet wonders as she picked up some golden glowing grenades.
"Keep the city safe," Oliver said, causing everyone to freeze in shock when they saw him exit the medical bay. "We need to stop the Henchmaniacs before they cause any more chaos across the universe."
Peter-1 smiled as he gestured to Oliver. "Yeah, he's back."
"Oliver?" Caitlin was shocked when she saw he was back.
"The Green Arrow?" Ashley was shocked to see the hero alive.
"How...?" Caitlin was shocked to see him.
Mia stood shocked when she saw her father standing there. "Dad?"
"Hey, sweetie," Oliver said with a smile as he saw his daughter. "We have a lot to catch up on."
FRAMEWORK
When Daisy woke up, she let out a gasp before slipping into the bathtub. When she then got out of the water, she spat out what she had ingested on her way down. When she wiped the water from her eyes, she looked around and noticed the strange, expensive-looking apartment she was currently in.
As she got out of the tub, her phone buzzed, causing her to look over and wonder what was happening. She reached and picked it up, wondering who was trying to contact her. There didn't seem to be a name in the message, just the message.
It's time to get to work; wake up your boyfriend!
Daisy was a little confused as she then left the bathtub and quickly grabbed what she guessed was her bathrobe. She left the bathroom to try and figure out where she was, and she saw that she lived in what looked like some small apartment bathroom in the bedroom. That was when she saw there was someone in the bed, letting out a sigh of relief as she figured it was Barry. She was glad that he was here, figuring that there was nobody else who could be her boyfriend.
Daisy sighed in relief as she approached the bed to wake him up. "Barry."
She needed to get him out of the Framework and find out where they were being held so that they could save them. When she reached up to the blanket and pulled it back a little, expecting to see Barry. But when the person moved their head, revealing their face, Daisy was shocked when she saw it was actually Grant Ward. On instinct, she raised her hand to try and use her powers on him. But that's when she realized that nothing was coming out of her palm.
Her powers are gone.
"What...what's this?" Ward asks Daisy, doing the same action she did to try and Quake-Blast. "That a thing we do now?"
Daisy looked down at her palms in worry, wondering how she was supposed to get around this world without her powers.
"Tell me it means you're making the coffee," Ward asks of her as he starts to wake up.
"It's... I'm sorry, you startled me." Daisy decided to go with it as a believable lie.
"It's not like I sneaked in here," Ward said as he got out of bed, reaching over to grab his clothes. "So, what's up?"
Daisy quickly got over the fact that she was supposed to be with Ward in this world, which disgusted her given her history with him. However, she recalled how Barry told her how when Battleworld went down, Ward gave his life to help them save the multiverse. Maybe this version of him isn't as bad as she thought.
"I'll get dressed," Ward said as he made his way to the bathroom, doing the Quake-Blast hand gesture. As he started to dress, Daisy started to search through her own stuff and clothes, trying to figure out what else was different. "You know we've spent more nights out tracking Inhumans than we've had at home?"
Daisy almost froze when she heard that part. Hearing that she is supposed to be out tracking Inhumans makes sense since she doesn't have powers and things have been changed for her to be against them.
Ward questioned, "Bosses can't give us a morning off?"
"Bosses," Daisy said a little more confused as she got dressed. "Who do you think's running the brief?"
Ward said, "I don't know, you got the text."
Daisy was becoming more lost in this madness of a world. But then she spotted what looked to be a photo of her and Ward on some island paradise. She thought that it looked similar to somewhere she had seen before but couldn't place it. Ward came over and wrapped his arms around her, startling her a little since she couldn't stand the idea of her and Ward, even if he was a hero in their world.
Ward said, "We should go there again sometime." As he kissed her up the neck, he let her go and started strolling around the room, looking for his tie. "Themyscaria was a beautiful place."
"Themyscaria," Daisy murmured when she heard that.
That was the place where Wonder Woman came from in her world. This world was built by the minds of her Earth-S friends, as well as the other people of the multiverse, including Peter-616, who had traveled to many worlds. This false universe was created to merge thousands of worlds and make sense of it all.
Ward asked her, "So, what did they say?" Daisy was still focused on all of the small details, trying to figure out what was going on. "Skye, who texted you?"
That was a bit of a shock to Daisy since she hadn't been called that for quite some time; ever since she had joined S.H.I.E.L.D., in fact. It was a bit odd to hear herself being called Skye after a few years of being called Daisy.
"Someone who knew you'd sleep in," Daisy decided to reply, not knowing who had texted.
Ward sighed as if he knew exactly who was texting. "Heart," he said, throwing his tie over his shoulder. "If it's August, then it's probably another intake briefing." He then grabbed a badge off the table and passed it to Daisy. "Don't forget this."
She then opened the badge and was shocked when she saw what was inside. The HYDRA logo. HYDRA Homeland Security. In the Framework, she wasn't an Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., she was an Agent of HYDRA.
?
Tommy and Tina stood as they faced their captor. A strange sphere kept them within the containment zone, preventing them from escaping. Whatever this man was, it seemed like he knew what he was doing and who they were.
Tina asked, "Who are you?" without showing any sign of fear.
"And what do you want from us?" Tommy wondered, also trying not to show fear.
"I am just a man who has lost a lot of time. Like you. But we can help each other with that." Their captor said.
Tommy asked, "Okay, but who are you? And I want a straight answer."
He whispered, "My name is Kang the Conqueror." He then walked closer to their cell. "I am the master of time and space. I know how everything ends...in every universe." As he said this, the Cosmic Cube appeared in his hand. "And there's nothing you can do to change it."
"You know how this war ends?" Tina asked in surprise. "Is that why you saved us?"
"Saved you?" Kang asks with a scoff. "I only protected time. You're not supposed to die yet. In fact, I need you to help me."
"You want us to help you destroy our worlds?" Tommy scoffed and even laughed. "Yeah, I don't think so."
Kang took that as his final answer, immediately raising a finger and flicking it. Tommy and Tina were both freaked out when they were flung around their prison and smashed into the wall. They screamed in terror as the cell was causing them to be electrocuted.
Earth-1
April gripped her head as her spider senses went berserk. She cried out and clutched her head, wondering what was wrong. But then she realized it wasn't her. It was Tommy and Tina. They were in danger.
"Oh, god."
?
Kang stopped and released the twins so they could back away from their cell walls and catch their breath. They were terrified of him, for he seemed to have the power to hurt them, despite their powerful suits and technology.
"Let me make this easy for the both of you," Kang said as he flicked his hand again, causing their cell to split into two separate ones. "You will do what I tell you...or I will kill her." He looked at Tina. "Then I will kill him." He looked at Tommy. "And I will do it again and again until one of you does what I want. Do you understand?"
Neither of them listened.
"Alright," Kang sighed as he realized they would have to do things the hard way.
He snapped his fingers, causing Tina's prison cell to start shrinking around her. She began to panic and struggled to stand, but as the cell shrank further, it became impossible for her to do so. She started to panic as she looked over to Tommy in panic.
"Tommy," Tina whispered in fear. She tried to push the force field, but the shield was too strong for her. "Tommy!"
Tommy cried out, "Hang on, Tina! I'll save you!" He shot a blast of mist at the shield, but it didn't even interact with it. "No!" He then punched as hard as he could, but nothing happened. "No!"
Tina whimpered and tears filled her eyes as the field became too small for her to even curl up in. Tommy knew there was only one way he could save his sister, and he folded.
"Alright! I'll do it! Just stop!" Tommy pleaded for him to stop.
Kang then stopped and allowed the force field to expand. Allowing the force field to expand and allow Tina to breathe. She looked up at her brother, seeing he did what he needed to do to save her. She was relieved her brother didn't let her die but was now worried about what he just agreed to do.
"Remember," Kang said as he shut down Tommy's force field. "You may be heroes...but against me, you're out of your league. Just be glad I need you."
"What do you want me to do?" Tommy asks.
FRAMEWORK
Ava woke up to the sound of explosions, followed by cries of fear and pain from people. She tried to see what was happening but could only catch a glimpse of an explosion before she ducked down and covered her ears.
"Ava!" A familiar voice cried out as Ava looked to see Shuri racing over to her, revealing she was in a trench. "You've gotta move!"
Shuri began to realize the gravity of the situation as she held onto Ava. The sight of Wakanda, once a prosperous nation, now destroyed and attacked by well-trained S.H.I.E.L.D. agents bearing the menacing HYDRA symbol on their uniforms left Ava stunned.
The agents were shooting down the Wakandan people with ease; they were able to take down a few others in retaliation, but it was a massacre on both ends. People cried out in pain and fear as citizens and warriors of Wakanda were shot down as they charged toward or ran away from the soldiers.
Shuri then looked and saw the forcefield that kept their home safe was no longer strong enough. They had something attached to their vehicles that allowed them to pass through the forcefield. Shuri was leading Ava out, using her gauntlets to fight off the incoming agents as they torched and scorched everyone and everything around them.
But then she watched what must be the leader's ship land and saw a woman wearing a skin-tight black outfit with a hint of red under her chin. Her long flowing hair covered half of the left side of her face, only revealing one of her pale blue eyes, and she was about the same age as Ava.
She asked one of the troopers by her side, "Have we found their leader?"
"No, Madame Belova," the soldier replied.
"Find her," Yelena Belova, also known as the Crimson Widow, demanded of them as they continued shooting at the Wakandans as they approached.
Shuri led Ava to a collapsed cave with a small entrance, which would have been easily missed if one weren't looking for it. They made their way inside, but they didn't go back far enough for them to talk. Ava was still trying to get her head on straight, knowing that it was going to take a moment before that happened. She looked and watched as her hands shook, wondering what was going on here.
"We're not going to make it out together," Shuri said in exhaustion and dropped Ava down beside her. Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out something that looked like a hard drive advanced by Wakandan technology. "You take this, and get it to the resistance. It's safer with you than it is with me."
"What?" Ava asked in confusion.
"Hey," Shuri said, forcing Ava to look at her face. "I need to know you can do this. The people need you. Can I trust you to protect them?"
"Y... yes," Ava finally answered. "Yes, of course."
Shuri smiled and stood, fixing her gauntlets. "Good. I'm going to buy you some time. This tunnel leads right out of Wakanda and into the jungle. A mile north and you'll find one of our emergency jets they haven't discovered yet in a hanger disguised as a rock formation." She gestured towards the tunnel, but Ava was still trying to keep her head on straight. "Wakanda Forever," she whispered to herself before racing back to where they had come from.
Ava watched as Shuri blasted down a dozen HYDRA agents. She was using all of her power to fight back and punched a few heads off with her gauntlets. Then she activated her gauntlets to send shockwaves to knock them down. She was practically unstoppable. That was until one got a hit on her leg. She looked down at her knee and saw a spider bite electrocuting her entire nervous system.
The blonde woman from the ship then strode toward the fallen Princess of Wakanda, with one fist raised in victory, revealing she was the one who shot her. She called off the others to stop shooting and began taking prisoners.
"Princess Shuri," Yelena greeted her before delivering a right hook across the face. "We know what you stole from us. Director Parker wants it back."
Shuri said, "Go to hell."
A lasso suddenly wraps around her, and she looks to see that it's coming from Wonder Woman, aka Donna Troy. She wears a bodysuit; the top half is red with a gold-colored stylized W on the chest, and the bottom half is blue with stars and silver padding, and red boots.
Donna said, "She asked you a question. Answer it." She added, "Now, answer!"
Shuri groans in fear as she tries to free herself from the lasso's grasp, but it only becomes more painful the more she resists. "I said...go...to...hell!"
Yelena saw that she was strong enough to resist the powers of the Lasso of Truth, so she knelt and placed a hand on Shuri's shoulder. "I'll meet you there," she said.
A gunshot echoed through the jungle as Shuri collapsed lifelessly onto the ground, and Ava had to cover her mouth to prevent herself from screaming out in terror. She tried to remind herself that this was all just a fantasy, that nothing she saw here was real, and nothing was permanent. She was merely watching Code die. The sting of watching her cousin fall lifelessly to the ground didn't make it any easier.
Yelena commanded the troops, "Leave no stone unturned." She then removed Shuri's gauntlet as a spoil of war.
"Ma'am, what about the villagers?" John Walker asked her as he approached with his bloodied shield.
He wore a suit in the colors of HYDRA - red and black. His cowl featured eyeholes that opened at the bottom, revealing his face. A large H adorned his forehead, while wings extended from either side. Bulletproof scale armor crafted from duralumin protected him, with a HYDRA logo emblazoned across his chest. Red and black stripes decorated his stomach, while the red coloration stopped at his upper arms, where white sleeves and red gloves took over. Red pants and black boots completed his ensemble.
Yelena looked towards the village where people were all crying at the loss of their princess, and the last of the royals. She then had a giant grin on her face as she knew that if anyone knew anything, it would be easier to cut off all links.
"Kill them all," Yelena said as she gave the order to the leader and then strolled off, just listening to the cries of terror that were immediately silenced by gunfire. "Hail HYDRA."
"Hail HYDRA," John replied with a salute and marched off to ensure that no one was left alive. "You heard her, men. No survivors."
Yelena tapped the end of her ear, activating her comm to get in touch with headquarters. "Director, Wakanda is ours. But we lost the drive. They're still out there."
"Good work, Agent," the Director reported back. "And don't worry about the drive, it'll turn up. Bring the Princess to our base. We'll question her there."
Yelena froze when she heard that and looked at the dead princess. "Uh..."
Director Parker took a quick guess. "You killed her, didn't you?"
Yelena looked at Donna, who rolled her eyes. "She didn't make it."
Director Parker sighed. "Will you be needing any backup for the cleanup?"
"No, we have got it all under control from here," Yelena assured him.
"If you need it, you know where to find it."
She then hung up and noticed that she had blood on her suit from shooting Shuri. "Ugh, come on." She whined when she looked and noticed the stain. "I just washed this outfit."
"Why didn't you wear the red outfit that we designed for this exact purpose?" Donna asked her as they strolled across the battlefield, while the people of Wakanda were being murdered by the HYDRA soldiers. "It's red to take blood, but not stain."
"Yeah, but I look too intimidating," Yelena shrugged as she stepped over another body.
Donna looked shocked to hear that and rolled her eyes. "You're one of the most feared women in the world, only rivaled by Ivy. It doesn't matter how you dress; people are going to be afraid of you. And let's face it, you just killed the Princess of Wakanda. That's pretty damn intimidating."
Yelena thinks about it and realizes that Donna might have a point. "Okay, I get it, I need to work on my people skills."
"Ha! A few Red Room visits late for that," Donna mocked.
"Says the woman who was raised on an island full of only women," Yelena mocked right back.
Ava's eyes widened in shock as she witnessed the massacre of her home, and quickly made her way through the cave and down into the jungle where she discovered a Wakandan jet with cloaking capabilities.
She'd only been here for under ten minutes, but Ava could already say one thing about this world...it is Hell.
