Killua's eyes flickered open as a streak of light brushed by his face.
Yawning, he sat up and stretched his arms.
Only to remember that today was Saturday.
The day given to him by Goku to check on Alluka's progress.
Relaxing, he fell back onto the bed, his head bumping into the soft pillow of the spare bed given to him by Chi-Chi.
He turned to his left to see his younger sister snuggled into the blankets. He scooched closer to her, placing one of his arms over her shoulder, bringing her closer and he felt Alluka's nose bump into his chest. The younger girl melted into her sibling's embrace, snuggling into his chest, all the while still asleep.
Minutes passed. Killua allowed thoughts to drift in his mind.
He, along with Gon, had been helping Alluka increase her endurance by travelling. She could already last quite a while before demanding a break.
It wasn't nearly as long as he or Gon could last, but it was still enough progress to make Killua swell with pride.
He had also made sure to keep up her resistance to poison by putting different types of it into their foods. Gon had even asked to join in, his friend thinking that it would be beneficial being able to resist poisons.
Killua smiled at the memory of the first time he had put a small non-lethal poison into Gon's food.
'He was in that stall for a whole hour!' He thought, suppressing a laugh.
Still though, the two made steady progress. Alluka kept her resistance, which was almost as strong as his and Gon bore fruit as well from the training. While the poison still made his stomach queasy, he was able to resist stronger poisons than the ones he had given him to begin with.
Killua even began to consider introducing his friend to a deadly dose.
When it came to fighting however, Killua simply couldn't bring himself to think about involving Alluka.
He loathed the thought of seeing his sister hurt.
During her time locked in the mansion, Alluka had become quite an astute learner. Reading many books about all kinds of stuff. As such, his innocent little sister was surprisingly well versed in a variety of subjects.
With her enthusiastic spirit, it was only natural that she would take an interest in the art of combat.
He had refused to teach her. When asked why, he simply said he wanted her to enjoy her childhood more.
Gon would sometimes try to encourage the idea by saying that it would be good to know self defence. Killua, as much as he knew Gon was right, especially with his family after Alluka constantly, simply couldn't bring himself to agree.
That was when he was forced to admit to himself that he was indeed an overprotective older brother.
The only reason he had let Chi-Chi train Alluka was because Alluka would argue about the matter had he refused. It would have hardly been fair if he and Gon got to train and she didn't. Plus it would make Chi-Chi more suspicious of their past. As such, he was left with no other choice.
While he hated the mere idea of his sister fighting for her life, He eventually had to admit to himself that having Alluka learn how to battle was, ultimately, a wise decision.
He also didn't want her to feel left out, especially while they were trapped in this strange new world.
Feeling tired of laying down and doing nothing, Killua felt his eyes slowly start to close and sleep enveloping him once more.
Killua let out a sigh. 'Guess I should go back to sleep. No use in staying awake for no reason.' He concluded before closing his eyes, glad to be able to sleep in late for once.
Killua fell asleep, snuggled right next to his sister.
After a few more hours, there was a knock on the door.
Alluka, already half awake by that point, had her face buried deep into Killua's chest. She sat up and rubbed her eyes, allowing them to adjust to the light.
She looked over at the door and heard a voice coming from the side.
"Kids! Wake up, it's time for breakfast!" The voice, revealing itself to be Chi-Chi, announced.
"Coming!" She cried back.
Turning to her right, she began to shake Killua to get him to wake up.
"Big Brother? Killua! Wake up! It's time to eat. I'm hungry!" She urged.
Slowly opening his eyes, Killua looked over to his younger sister, groaning from how tired he was.
"C'mon! You're too slow! We gotta eat fast so you can train me afterwards." She urged.
Killua rubbed his eyes as he too slowly rose from the bed.
"I'm coming, jeez." He murmured.
The siblings both eventually got up from the bed and began to change into their clothes, Killua slower than Alluka, much to the latter's impatience.
Eventually, both of them were out of the door and heading toward the Son family home.
"Come ON, Killua! You're so slow today." Alluka complained. Wanting to finish breakfast and train with her brother.
Killua inwardly smirked, before giving a loud, exaggerated groan. "I'm GOING! Kids these days are so impatient." He said, intent on annoying his little sister.
Judging by Alluka's impatience, it seemed to be working. "You're 12! You're a kid too!" she exclaimed, exasperated by her brother's teasing.
Alluka raced to Killua's back and pushed him, forcing him to walk faster.
"Ahh, to be young again." Killua said, letting out a sigh.
He forced himself not to laugh as he heard his sister groan of impatience.
The two of them eventually made it to the Son family home and had breakfast as usual. After breakfast was quickly devoured by all four of them, Goku, Killua and Alluka were just getting ready to head out the front door.
"You three be careful alright? I'll be here if you guys need anything." Chi-Chi informed. The three of them all looked back at her.
"See ya Chi-Chi! I'll be back for dinner!" Goku informed her, before turning his head over to the two siblings. "Be careful with training you two. Work hard and remember to have fun!" He said, giving a boyish grin as he waved them goodbye.
Killua nodded. "Yeah. good luck old man." He said coolly as Alluka waved goodbye in return.
"Take care, Goku!" Chi-Chi cried out before he left.
Goku nodded to the three of them before using instant transmission.
Killua and Alluka looked back to Chi-Chi.
"Good luck with training today Alluka. Remember to try your best alright?" Chi-Chi said.
Alluka nodded with a grin. "I've become much better thanks to you Chi-Chi! I'll be fine!" Alluka said, proud of her progress.
Chi-Chi smiled at her enthusiasm.
Killua looked toward Chi-Chi. "We'll be back before dinner too, so don't worry, yeah?" He said.
Chi-Chi nodded. "Well alright. You two take care of each other. And Killua?" Chi-Chi said, wanting to make sure the young boy pays attention.
Killua blinked, then focused on what she was going to say.
"Don't be too rough on Alluka alright? You're older and much stronger than her. Be sure to be patient while training her and let her take things at her own pace." Chi-Chi said, wanting to give some advice on how to train the young girl.
Killua nodded, slightly appreciating how Chi-Chi seemed to be looking out for his younger sister.
"Got it." He said, giving a small smile.
He looked toward the forest, grabbed Alluka's hand and began to walk.
"Be back soon, old hag!" He cried, waving his hand casually as he calmly walked away.
Alluka gave a bright smile as she turned around and waved happily to Chi-Chi, before turning her head back to the road.
The sound of nature once again enveloped Chi-Chi as the two siblings walked into the distance of the forest beyond the small home.
A look of Irritation made its way onto Chi-Chi's face as she watched them leave.
"Old hag am I..?" She asked to herself, her right eye twitching in annoyance.
Alluka bounced with excitement as she followed her older brother.
At long last, He would finally train her!
Both of the siblings had been walking through the dense forest for about five minutes. Curious as to where he would teach her, Alluka pulled on the back of his shirt to get his attention.
"Big brother! How much farther? I wanna get started!" She inquired eagerly.
Killua looked around, both of them surrounded by trees. It was an open enough area. The trees weren't too close to each other.
"Actually, right here should be fine." He said, both siblings coming to a stop.
Killua turned back to face his sister, who was bouncing on her feet from excitement.
After he had returned home from his own training, he had learned through conversation with Chi-Chi that she had been teaching Alluka the basics of martial arts, as well as some strength management as, apparently, she had broken a few plates while they were setting up the table.
From what he saw while they were eating, She had made great improvements. The way she ate looked almost normal. There were still moments where he noticed her struggling, but those moments had become less frequent.
For reasons that neither he or his companions could explain, This world they had travelled to had a much lighter gravity then from where they originated from. The first day here, he swore that if he had jumped into the air with even the most bare minimum of effort, he would have flown off into space.
They had been in this world for a total of three months. All of that time, they had spent mastering their bodies in this new environment.
By the time they had found Goku, two weeks ago, They had just about gotten used to the gravity here. Alluka still had a few difficulties and was still not as adjusted to this planet as he and Gon were, but she still managed fairly well.
That said, it was time to see just how much she had managed to improve.
"Alright. Here's what we'll do." Killua began, stretching his arms. "First, I wanna get a feel for just how strong you are. I'll be doing a series of tests to see just how much you've improved."
He held up his hand in front of Alluka. Alluka looked at him, confused. Killua quickly explained his actions.
"Punch me as hard as you can." He said, Nonchalantly.
Alluka's eyes widened slightly. "Oh. Okay." She responded, slightly thrown off.
She did not hesitate getting into a fighting stance, completely trusting her brother. Alluka closed her eyes, breathing in and out as she steadied herself.
In an instant, she opened her eyes and threw her fist at Killua's palm.
She returned her fist to her side, just as quickly as it had left. The force of the impact had created a small shock wave.
Killua nodded. "Alright. Not bad for a beginner." He said, feeling a small hint of pride. Alluka gave him a large grin in return. He walked around the area before turning back to face her.
"Help me collect some pebbles. We're gonna need them for your next exercise."
Alluka blinked, slightly confused by her brother's behaviour, before shrugging and doing what she was told.
Within a couple of minutes, they had quite a collection of pebbles, Killua standing right next to them.
"So, what are all the small rocks for big bro?" Alluka asked curiously.
"We're gonna see how good your reaction time is." He explained.
Alluka's brow furrowed in confusion. "Reaction time? What's that?"
"Reaction time," Killua began, "Is basically how long it takes you to respond to something. For example you would need to have a really good reaction time to dodge or block a punch." He said.
Alluka's eyes widened. "OH! Is that why you and Gon couldn't hit Goku? Because his reaction time was faster than your attacks?" She asked, as inquisitive as ever.
Killua smiled at her, feeling proud of his little sister for connecting the dots so quickly but not surprised. He and Gon already knew how intelligent she was.
"Exactly. Not only was he faster, but his reaction time is much more honed and sharper than ours. Which is exactly why he was able to evade and block all of our hits." Killua said. He bent down and picked up a handful of pebbles from the pile.
"So does this mean you're gonna throw rocks at me to see if I can dodge them?" Alluka asked.
Killua nodded. "Right again. As time goes on I'll increase the speed of the throw. Just try not to cry if you get hit too hard, okay?" He said, smirking.
Alluka puffed her cheeks. "I'm no cry baby! I can do this!" She declared.
Killua shrugged, getting into position. "Okay. Get ready then."
Alluka alerted herself and stood ready.
Killua then picked a pebble with his left hand and flinged it at Alluka with a small amount of force.
Seeing the attack, Alluka dodged to the left.
He threw another.
Alluka dodged to the right.
Killua continued to throw the pebbles slowly and Alluka was able to keep dodging.
Eventually, after about a minute and a half, Killua stopped.
"Alright. That level of speed would be easily perceived by normal people. Now, I'm gonna start throwing them with a speed that would be more on par with someone at peak fitness." He said casually. He refilled his ammo by picking more of the pebbles up with his right hand.
"Ready?" He called out.
Alluka nodded. "Bring it!" She said eagerly.
Killua repeated the process. But this time faster.
Alluka's eyes widened as she felt a pebble whiz by her cheek, almost touching it.
Killua then quickly began throwing a barrage of tiny rocks at Alluka, the latter barely able to dodge the hail of pebbles.
As three came at her, she threw herself to the left, her body crashing to the ground. She used the momentum to roll back up to her feet, managing to dodge two more that crashed into the dirt where she had thrown herself at.
She seemed to be putting on a good performance.
Unfortunately, however, It seemed that Killua had found her limit, as one of the pebbles hit her right in the stomach.
The impact threw her back into the ground.
"You okay?" Killua asked as he watched her have a coughing fit.
As she got up, she nodded, looking disappointed in herself.
"I-I'm fine!" She said. "How did I do?" She asked.
Killua went over to Alluka and patted her on the head. "Pretty good. Your reflexes are impressive for someone your age." He said.
Alluka smiled at that, but couldn't shake the frustration of failure off so quickly. While she had grown stronger, Alluka simply didn't feel like it was enough.
She shook her head. Right now, she just had to focus on performing as well as she could.
"Alright, what's next?" She asked.
Killua dropped the remaining pebbles in his hand. "Well, since I now know how strong and fast you are, We're gonna have a short sparring lesson. Physical capabilities don't mean anything if you don't know how to properly apply it." Killua explained.
"A sparring lesson?" Alluka asked.
"Yeah. Nothing serious. Just wanna see all the techniques Chi-Chi taught you. By knowing what your fighting style is, I can evaluate its strengths and it's weaknesses."
"Oh, and then we can figure out what to correct and how to make a style more suited for me, right?" Alluka said, putting in her own two scents.
"Yup. That's right." Killua responded.
Killua got into a stance, holding both hands open in front of him.
"I won't attack. Just make sure to try and hit me as many times as you can within the next minute. Understand?" Killua instructed.
Alluka nodded her head. "Okay. I'll do my best!" She declared.
Killua gave her a smile in return. "That's all I ask."
Alluka readied herself. As Chi-Chi had told her, she made sure to close her fists, and put her guard up. Making sure to cover as much of her head as possible. She then placed her right foot in front of her left and turned slightly left.
Killua gave her a nod. "Alright. Go!" He said, beginning the spar.
Alluka's eyes narrowed in focus before rushing in. She attempted a jab at Killua's head only for it to be quickly blocked by the older of the two. Not letting up, Alluka continued her assault.
Jab.
Cross.
Cross.
Left Hook.
Right uppercut.
As Killua blocked these strikes, shockwaves were created from the enhanced force of the blows. Alluka decided to add a bit more variety to her attacks. She pivoted her left foot, and aimed a side kick at Killua's hip.
Killua sidestepped the kick, and took hold of Alluka's heel. With his own restrained strength combined with the momentum of the strike, he threw Alluka a few meters to his right.
Disoriented from being thrown to the ground, Alluka looked up at Killua and frowned.
"Hey! You said you wouldn't attack!" She cried out, to which Killua gave her a smirk.
It was a very annoying smirk, in Alluka's opinion.
"What? I just pushed you away. Big brother would NEVER attack you!" Killua in a very fake shocked tone.
Alluka wasted no time as she charged back at Killua, by attempting a flying side kick.
Killua simply side stepped, to which Alluka almost landed face first on the ground. Thankfully, she stopped her descent with her right hand. She grasped the ground and used her hand to propel herself toward Killua.
Punch after punch and kick after kick, Alluka simply could not strike her brother. He either dodged or blocked any hit she gave out.
Eventually, Killua jumped back and held his hand up, signaling for Alluka to stop.
"Alright. Time's up." He said, finishing the match.
Alluka relaxed her stance and stood up straight.
She looked down at the ground, frowning at how she was unable to land a single blow.
Killua, being as observant he was, took note of her change in demeanor immediately and walked over to her.
"Something wrong?" He asked, feeling slightly worried.
"I couldn't even hit you once." She said, sadness in her voice.
He ruffled her hair affectionately. "Ah, don't worry about it. You're just starting to learn how to fight! Everyone's got to start from somewhere, right?"
Alluka smiled at the comfort. "I guess…"
Deep down though, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.
She considered her learning rate in the art of combat to be rather slow in comparison to her brother's and Gon's. No matter how hard she had tried these past two weeks, She began to realize that, for whatever reason, She simply could not pick up techniques, or become stronger at the same rate as her two traveling partners.
Was there something wrong with her?
What was it that she was doing wrong?
Perhaps, at the end of this lesson, she would find out.
For now though, She would simply have to power on through.
Although he wasn't convinced, Killua decided not to press the issue.
'Alluka's an honest girl. She'll definitely tell me what's up when she's ready.' Killua thought to himself, knowing his sister well.
He contemplated everything he had seen from her, and decided that Alluka was ready for the next exercise he was about to give her.
Nodding to himself, He looked to Alluka.
"Stay here, alright? I gotta go get something from the house."
Alluka, confused, still nodded. "Oh. Alright." She said,
He gave her a wink. "Good. Be right back!" He told her.
He turned around and made his way back to where the Son family home was. Alluka watched her brother leave quietly.
'I wonder what he's up to.' Alluka thought, watching him leave.
Before Alluka knew it, Killua was already out of sight. She laid down on the ground, making sure not to sit on any twigs, and let herself relax.
She breathed in fresh air and stared at the beautiful blue sky.
So far, she can honestly say that she liked this world. Maybe even more than their own world.
After all, She was constantly chased around by her psychopathic family, as such, her and Killua never had any time to really settle down and she felt bad for roping Gon into it, despite his instance.
They both tried to downplay the seriousness of it all, but even she could sometimes see their expressions falter from how close a call they sometimes found themselves in.
She appreciated that the three of them finally got to chill out. Not having to worry about being found.
And killed.
Well, not her and Killua.
She was their precious weapon while Killua was the so-called destined leader of the Zoldyck clan.
She had no doubt in her mind, however, that they would definitely eliminate Gon.
And if that ever happened…
Well, she could not begin to imagine how sad it would be for her. And especially how sad Killua would be.
While he could be selfish when pursuing something, he was an amazing friend. As time rolled on, she, like Killua, even began to see Gon as a brother.
But here, they had no reason to worry.
The Zoldyck family would be unable to find them here, and a large majority of this planet's inhabitants were so weak compared to them, that they would not be able to endanger them even if they tried.
Of course, there was always a chance that someone here could be smart enough to build some type of machine that would be able to endanger them.
If they were careful, made sure to lay low and not cause any mischief, then they really had no reason to be concerned.
With all of that taken into consideration, was it really a bad thing that they were here?
Alluka began to wonder if maybe all of this was a blessing in disguise.
Maybe the accident that led them here was all a good thing.
Perhaps then, she had no reason to feel guilty..?
Before she could continue her pondering, she heard footsteps coming from the right. Turning her head, she saw that it was none other than Killua.
And a turtle shell.
'Oh, no…' Alluka's eyes widened in horror.
Killua gave a large, mischievous, grin as he waved at his sister. "Yo! I'm back!" He announced.
Killua let the turtle shell drop to the floor, with it letting out a large thud as it impacted with the ground.
Alluka stood up, eyes widening nervously as she more or less knew where this was going.
Uneasily, she looked at her brother, who was looking quite smug.
"...This is for me making fun of how you looked with that thing on isn't it?" She asked.
Killua stretched his arm and looked at her with his self satisfied grin widening. "That is definitely a bonus."
Alluka let out a pathetic whimper.
Something told her that this was going to be a LONG training session.
Arriving at Kame House, Goku merrily walked up to his old mentor's home and knocked on the door.
It only took a few seconds for a familiar, short, bald headed man to answer. His mouth formed into a grin as he saw his best friend from youth.
"Hey, Goku! How ya been bro?!" Krillin greeted, putting his hand up for a high five. Goku grinned back and happily slapped his hand against Krillin's.
"Awesome! How's everything going Krillin?" Goku asked.
"Same old, same old. It's been forever since you visited, man! Come on in!" Krillin said, dragging his old friend inside of the small house.
The two walked over to the couch, where Goku saw his old master sitting, drinking coffee and reading…
Well, whatever it was that he enjoyed reading. Goku never cared enough to ask. Nor was he nosy enough to find out.
"Hey Master Roshi!" Goku greeted cheerfully. The old man looked over at his student, his beard moving from his face shifting to a smile.
The old man let out a hearty laugh, glad to see his disciple. "Goku, my boy! What brings you to my humble abode?"
As Goku sat down, Krillin tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention. "I'll be right back. I'm gonna go get 18 and Marron. They'll probably want to say hi too." He explained, before going off to his and 18's room.
Goku turned back to face his old master.
"Well, I was wondering if you were interested in participating in a tournament I'm gonna hold." Goku explained. Master Roshi looked at him curiously.
"Oh? You're holding a tournament? Well I guess it has gotten a little too peaceful around here, huh?" Roshi asked, not really surprised at this course of action. Especially coming from an adrenaline junkie like Goku.
"Right!? I mean, it's nice that the Earth isn't blowing up but I really want a challenge." Goku said, grinning. "What better way to do that than to hold a tournament. That should motivate everyone to try and get stronger, right?"
The old hermit stroked his beard thoughtfully. "Well I guess that depends. Do you have some kind of reward to give should someone win? That would definitely help motivate a lot of our friends into this."
Goku thought for a moment. His eyes then widened as an idea came to his mind.
"Hey, maybe we can use the Dragonba- Oof!" Goku gasped as a force slammed into him from behind. The figure wrapped it's short arms around Goku's neck, pulling him into an excited embrace.
"HI UNCLE GOKU!"
It was none other than Krillin and 18's young daughter, Marron. Goku stretched his arm to the back, caressing Marron's hair.
"Hey Marron! How' ya been?" Goku asked, as the young girl flipped high into the air before landing on Goku's lap, snuggling into his chest.
"Great! Are we gonna train today?!" The little one asked.
Goku gave an apologetic smile before patting her head. "Sorry, not today. Today I got something to take care of." He explained making the little girl pout.
He turned his head to see his best friend back with his wife.
"Yo 18. What's up?" He asked casually.
The woman gave a small smile, wiping a strand of hair from her face, her crystal blue eyes, looking at Goku. "Everything's been stable. Right now we're just focusing on moving into our new home." She said, glad to finally be moving out.
Shortly after the disaster that was Buu had been destroyed, Mr. Satan, as promised for letting him win the final round, had given 18 the money he owed to her.
They had spent the next two years discussing what kind of lifestyle they wanted, as well as wanting Marron to be a little older before they moved. Now though, plans had been made, and the family was finally going to have their own home.
Master Roshi decided to interrupt, wanting to know what his student was going to say before he was interrupted. "So what were you going to offer Goku?"
Goku looked back at his master. "Oh! Yeah. I was gonna say, why don't we offer up a wish from the Dragon Balls as a reward? That should get people's attention." Goku suggested.
"Wait, what!? A wish from the Dragon Balls? Reward? What are you guys talking about?" Krillin asked. 18, interested, looked at Goku curiously.
Marron simply sat on Goku's lap, not really paying any attention to anything, allowing her mind to wander.
"Ah, Goku here was talking about holding a tournament between the whole group. He's saying that the winner should get a wish from Shenron." Master Roshi answered, stroking his long beard all the while. He looked at Goku.
"I'd say that's a good idea! It'd be a fun way to reunite everyone. The wish is also a good add on!" Master Roshi said, smiling.
18 looked over at Krillin, who sweat dropped, and gave a sigh.
He knew very well what that look meant.
"We're entering that tournament, Krillin." 18 said, not leaving any room for argument. Krillin looked over at his wife pleadingly.
"Aw, c'mon babe! You know I'm not strong enough to fight Vegeta. Or Gohan! Or literally anyone of the group who wasn't born on this planet. Any one of them could beat me without even using super sayian, you know!" Krillin expressed nervously, trying to appeal to his wife.
18 shrugged nonchalantly. "Then train harder. We both know fighting isn't all about strength. If you can find a way to outsmart them, then you can win. Besides, it's been way too long since any of us have had a workout routine. This is good exercise." 18 finished, knowing she had already won. Krillin slumped further into his soft seat.
Goku gave a warm chuckle. "Don't worry, Krillin! I'll go easy on you, I promise!" He said, trying to comfort him.
"Yeah, but Vegeta sure as heck won't…" Krillin groaned miserably. Goku nodded in agreement, while snickering.
Goku then turned to Master Roshi, having remembered a very important detail he had forgotten to mention. "Oh yeah, I need to tell you something Master! There's three new people who are going to participate in this tournament!"
"Really now? Some new friends of yours?" Roshi spoke up. Goku nodded.
"Well, tell us about them! Who are these new guys?" Krillin inquired.
Goku smiled as he began to tell them all about the three mystery children who had shown up at his doorstep, as well as his ideas and plans for the tournament.
Alluka dropped on her side of the bed, completely drained from the training Kilua had put her through. Killua settled in next to her, pulling the covers over both of them. He looked at her, smiling.
"You did good today. Keep it up and we'll be activating your nen before you know it." He said, encouragingly.
While she did not agree with that statement, believing herself to have not made enough progress, she was far too tired to care at the moment. Alluka let out a muffled sound escape her lips from where they were being smothered by the pillow that sounded like, 'Good night.'
"Good night to you too." He said, turning to his side of the bed.
It did not take long for Alluka to fall asleep, considering how worn out she was. She closed her eyes and darkness quickly consumed her.
But then something unexpected happened.
Alluka's eyes were forced awake. She gasped, confused as to why she had suddenly woken up. All traces of exhaustion had left her body.
"W-what? Where am I..?"
She looked around at the empty blackness. There was absolutely nothing. No people.
no trees.
no animals.
All she could see was darkness.
Darkness as far as the eye could see.
Something felt strange about this place. Was this a dream? It certainly did not feel like one. Even Lucid dreams weren't this real.
Suddenly a black substance, resembling steam, descended upon Alluka, coating itself all around her body. Despite this, Alluka did not panic. She felt a sensation of familiarity around her. A sense she had felt all her life.
She immediately knew who it was.
"Nanika?" Alluka asked, wanting confirmation that it was, who she considered to be, her twin.
The black substance moved away from her, and slowly assembled itself into a humanoid figure. In a matter of seconds, it had transformed into an exact copy of Alluka. It's eyes were not visible however, both of them being covered by the bangs of it's hair.
The figure slightly glanced up at Alluka, smiling gently at the girl.
"Hello, Alluka." The creature greeted. Alluka understood it's words and yet, could not hear its voice.
"I think it's about time we had a talk."
Chapter 12 is in the house, baby!
I hope all of you like the story so far.
I'm trying to depict Alluka as insecure about her learning rate because, if you think about it, at this point in the story she's only ever been around her family and Gon. It's only natural that she would compare herself to them. Little does she know that people have different potential when it comes to combat and, sadly, Her potential, while high, is nowhere near close to Gon's and Killua's.
As mentioned several times throughout the manga and anime, those two are complete monsters.
As part of her character development, this is a fact that she will simply have to over come.
I'm also trying to make more character development for even the least important characters like Marron. Like having her think of Goku as an uncle or the fact that, as revealed in this chapter, Goku trains/play fights with her.
I deeply value characterization.
Also, it seems like Alluka and Nanika will be having a little chat next chapter.
What will they talk about?
Well, you'll just have to keep reading and find out!
As always, be sure to let me know what you think in the comment section. Stay tuned for more,
