There was a nice calm atmosphere as Gohan ate alongside his wife and new student.

Thanks to it being the weekend, Gohan had the chance to cook for the three of them, giving Videl a much needed break.

She wasn't afraid to admit that she greatly enjoyed Gohan's cooking far more than her own.

While being rich had a lot of benefits, that privilege caused the young adult to never delve into the culinary arts. It wasn't until Gohan came to live with her that she began to learn how to make a proper meal.

The first several times she tried…

Well.

Let's just say that it wasn't exactly a pleasurable experience.

But Videl had long since improved and made great strides in her meals. After a year into her marriage, she finally managed to make something edible, (Much to Gohan's, and sometimes her father's, who came over to visit, relief).

She was certainly glad that Gon did not seem to mind her cooking. The boy would eat almost anything given to him.

During his stay, Videl could safely say that she came to care for this strange boy. He was honest and very determined, refreshing from having to deal with the liars and cheats in the world. He could be quite a gentleman too, as he usually offered to help around the house.

While initially thinking he was very simple minded, Videl had come to find out that whenever he took an interest in something, Gon showed frightening intelligence.

She got to know a few things about him personally as well.

For starters, his full name is Gon Freecss.

He's 12 years old and was born on some remote unknown landmass far away called, 'Whale Island'.

He was raised by his aunt, Mito Freecss, and his grandmother after his father left him there because he lost custody of him, as well as to pursue his own adventures.

What confused Videl the most about that tidbit of info is that Gon hadn't looked the least bit bothered by it. Oddly enough, he seemed happy despite his situation.

After traveling for a few days in search of his father, a man named Ging; He met Killua and Alluka, his two partners and began traveling with them.

A year of travel later he finally met his dad, and the two had a very nice time together. While Videl was glad that Gon was so happy about it all, she couldn't help but get a bit peeved at Ging for never even trying to make contact with his son and at Mito for lying to him about what had happened.

Apparently, she had told Gon that his father died in an accident.

While she understood that it was to give Gon a normal childhood, she couldn't' help but feel that the reason Mito adopted Gon was rather selfish and immature.

From what Gon had told her, it was easy to see that his aunt, while she did love him, did it mostly out of pettiness toward her cousin leaving.

After that, the trio decided to seek out training, which is what led them to Goku.

Videl eventually told the young lad about herself, from her childhood and upbringing to how she met Gohan.

She kept the Majin Buu part of it a secret though, deciding to go along with the wish that had been made to erase everyone's memory of it.

She also left out the whole, 'her husband is half alien' topic because then he'd just think she was crazy!

From what she was able to tell, Gon seemed to be incredibly awestruck by her stories, especially the one about Cell. She could tell that he gained newfound admiration for Gohan when he found out that he defeated the vicious android at the ripe age of 11.

As she reminisced, she suddenly remembered that she had not asked when Gon had been born.

Not that it was too important, but Videl found Gon intriguing enough to ask.

Looking up from her plate full of food, Videl gave him a warm smile. "You know, I completely forgot to ask you this but when's your birthday?"

Looking up from the food he had been viciously devouring, hungry from a full day of training, he swallowed what was in his mouth and gave a tired grin as he gave her an answer.

"It's on May 5th. Don't really remember the year though. What about yours?"

Videl's eyes widened. May 5th was next week. She smirked before answering. "I was born on March 19th, Age 757."

Gon nodded before looking over at his mentor. "When were you born Gohan?"

Gohan, looking up from his meal, casually told him. "Oh, I was born on May 18th. Age 757."

Gohan then saw that his wife was giving him, 'the glance'. the look she made whenever she wanted to speak in private. Gohan had no problem guessing what the topic would be about considering what they just learned.

Minutes later, Gon finished his meal and dragged his tired feet all the way up to his bed.

"Make sure to sleep early tonight, okay Gon? Tomorrow Piccolo is coming over and me and Videl are joining you guys."

Gon waved tiredly, "Got it. Good night!" He said. The couple bid their farewell for the night as they continued eating.

A smile made its way onto Videl's face as she glanced at Gohan. "Think we should get him something?" She asked.

Gohan gave a warm chuckle. "Don't see why not. From what I've seen he seems like a nice guy. He's also a good, hard working student."

Videl looked at the direction Gon had gone. "I think I'll get him some training weights then. Does that old perv Roshi have any?"

Gohan shook his head. "No. He usually just has giant turtle shells. You could find some at the lookout though. I'm sure Dende would be happy to give you a pair."

Videl nodded gratefully before giving off a mischievous smirk. "Don't think I've forgotten about you either mister…" She said, leaning forward slightly, her eyes half lidded.

"I think you're really gonna like what I've got planned for YOUR birthday.." She flirted huskily.

It didn't take two seconds before Gohan's face was as red as strawberry. "O-oh, ummm… Th-thankyou?" He said, short circuiting.

Videl let out a hearty laugh, before getting up and making her way behind Gohan. Wrapping her arms around his neck, she planted a kiss on his cheek. "I love you so much you big dork…" She said affectionately.

Gohan shyly scratched his cheek before going back to eating his meal.

The couple eventually finished eating, took a shower and went to bed.

Next Morning

Waking up with a start, Gon made his way down stairs. As he approached the kitchen, he saw Gohan, already awake, preparing breakfast. Videl was sitting at the table.

"Mornin'." Gon greeted, upbeat as usual.

"Good morning, Gon. Go ahead and take a seat. I'm almost done." Gohan said, greeting him back. Gon nodded and made his way to the table. Seeing him, Videl raised her hand at him in greeting.

"Hi Videl." Gon greeted her.

"Mornin' kiddo. How'd you sleep?"

Gon stretched before pulling up a chair. "Great. Feel all charged up from yesterday. And you?" Gon inquired as he sat down. Videl put her arms behind her back and stared at the ceiling.

"Slept fine." Videl answered. "Are you ready for today? It's gonna be rough!" She declared, pumped. Gon laughed and nodded. From behind them, Gohan brought breakfast and neatly set it on the table.

The three sat down, and began digging in.

"So what are we gonna work on today? More strategy?"

Gohan shook his head. "No, today we're gonna work on Ki techniques. Cook up some ideas so that you can show more variety."

Over the past week, Gon had shown to be exceptionally talented and interested in the art of combat, but he had really only shown off histechniques in hand to hand fighting and strategic mindset during battle. Today they were going to take a closer look at his aura.

This made Gon slightly nervous.

'From what I've seen, Aura is way harder to use than ki.' Gon thought, alert. 'It's hard enough trying to keep our secret, but this is gonna make it a lot more difficult. When it comes to nen, there are so many things to take into consideration. Nen categories, restrictions, curses. It's way more complicated than this 'ki' stuff.' Gon said, throwing a quick glance at Gohan.

'I'll just have to hope that they chalk it up to me being more talented with a hands-on approach. Other than the Ja-Janken, and the basics of nen, I can't show them anything else without them getting suspicious. Especially that other technique…'

The three of them finished eating and each person went toward their room to get dressed. Soon all of them came out with their own fighting uniforms and headed out the door.

"Took you long enough." A deep sound voice made its presence.

A familiar green humanoid was standing to the right side of the entrance. "Good morning, Piccolo!" Gon greeted him, happy.

"Hi, Mr. Piccolo. Sorry to keep you waiting." Gohan said bashfully.

Videl let out a smirk. "Yeah, Hi 'Mr. Piccolo'! How ya doin?" She addressed with her usual snark. Piccolo simply rolled his eyes and stood up properly, turning his back toward them.

"We should get going. We're wasting time." He said, covering himself in Ki before blasting off into the sky. Gon quickly followed suit.

"He seems happy today." Videl noted Gohan giving her an amused chuckle. The two of them rushed after Gon and Piccolo and caught up in little time.

After flying for several minutes, They found themselves at their destination. Soon, all four of them landed in a large grassy field with no hills or mountains in sight. The day was beautiful. Blue skies with little clouds to be found. a light, pleasant, breeze surrounded the area.

"To start." Piccolo began, as everyone started stretching. "I want you to show us all of your abilities. This will give us a good grasp as to what you know in terms of Ki."

Finishing a small warm up, Gon stood up and nodded, his eyes showing off an excited determination. "Sure! Anything specific you want me to show you?" He asked.

Piccolo nodded. "Gohan and Goku already gave me an idea as to what you're capable of with and without using your full power. Now I want to see what abilities you've conjured up with your energy."

Gon nodded, trying to keep a straight face. "Okay. Will do."

He jumped back a significant distance from the group and settled into a battle stance. Closing his eyes, he breathed in and out. Doing his best to concentrate.

'Okay. Nothing too hard. All I've gotta do is show them my Ja-Janken. They shouldn't have any reason to suspect anything out of the ordinary. For all they know, it's just regular ki control.'

Gon activated his ren, causing the ground beneath him to shake. The force of his aura pushing away the grass and dirt.

"Alright!" He cried out. He clenched his right fist and let his left hand hover over it. "First comes rock…"

His aura concentrated into his right hand, the energy becoming so condensed that it morphed from a transparent white to a fiery yellowish-orange hue.

"Jan…"

His charged aura let out a shock wave as it began preparing his attack. The force of it caused Piccolo's cape to sway from the wind. Videl winced and covered her face with her hand from the sudden burst of wind, even taking a step back. Gohan and Piccolo however, did not budge. Small cracks appeared on the ground from the pressure.

"Ken…"

He reared his fist toward the sky. Using the momentum of his body, He let his fist rocket toward the ground.

"ROCK!"

The entire ground lit up with a large explosion of dirt and grass. A shockwave even larger than the first one hit the area. Videl this time had to grab on to Gohan just to not fly off into the distance.

Gohan and Piccolo used their own Ki respectively to push the incoming dirt away from their bodies, as to not let it get on their clothing or eyes. Gohan made sure that Videl was included in his Ki protection.

As the dust settled, Gohan and Videl's eyes widened at the area, Videl gasping in awe. Even Piccolo looked taken aback from the destruction he saw.

In front of them was a large crater that was just a few meters away from their feet. In the center of the crater was a giant whole that seemed to go down several meters.

Gon was still visible though, as it wasn't that deep. His knees and everything below however, were not.

Gon Jumped high into the air and performed a somersault toward the group, landing just in front of Piccolo.

"So," Gon stated. "That was my Ja-janken: Rock."

Piccolo quickly regained focus and nodded in approval. "I see. That was a rather impressive display of control over your energy. It's hard enough keeping your ki up at all times all around your body, much less focusing all of it into your fist. Very good."

'For a human his age, that is.' Piccolo thought.

Gohan smiled and gave Gon a thumbs up. "He's right! Way to go Gon."

"Now I'm really glad you didn't go all out on me last time. Jeez..." Videl muttered. She couldn't help but feel slightly envious though. She didn't even have that good control over her Ki yet. She also felt proud of him of course.

Realizing something, Gohan quickly piped up. "Oh! Hey Gon, the Janke- I mean Ja-Janken has two other variations right? One for scissors and the other for paper."

Everyone looked at Gohan in a moment. Gon seemed surprised.

"Yeah! How'd you know?"

"My dad knew a technique called the Janken. So since both are based off the game, I figured that that yours would also have three forms. Did anyone teach you that ability?"

Goon shrugged. "Nope. I thought up myself." He said, honestly.

Gohan nodded. Gon's attack was different from the regular Janken in that it used ki. It probably varied in other ways. He would just have to wait for Gon to show them off. Piccolo grunted to gain Gon's attention. "Can you show us the other two parts of the 'Ja-Janken'?"

Gon quickly regained focus. "Sure." He smiled before separating himself from the trio by jumping a few meters away.

Settling back into his stance, he once again began charging up his attack.

"First comes rock…"

Once again, his energy condensed and caused turmoil to the surrounding area.

"Jan… Ken…. Paper!"

Gon unleashed his hand outward into the distance, his palms outstretched, and The warm energy shot out, the force from the blast causing a small recoil.

The attack flew off into the distance before dissipating into thin air.

"Ah I see." Gohan spoke up. "So paper is an energy blast."

"Seems pretty weak compared to the rock attack though… no offense." Videl quickly said afterwards.

For a second, his eyes seemed to widen, before quickly regaining his previous demeanor. Gon laughed nervously, not seeming offended. "Nah I agree. I guess I'm just better at enhancing my body with aura than using ki blasts, huh?"

Piccolo's eyes narrowed. Before he could say anything, Gohan added in his own point. "Nothing to be ashamed about. We all have our own specialties when it comes to Ki usage." He said, offering reassurance.

Piccolo sighed, deciding it was probably nothing. He then proceeded. "I'm guessing scissors is up next?"

Gon quickly nodded, eager to continue. "Right! Although I can't really use this on anything. This is gonna be me showing off what it looks like…

Everyone seemed confused at that, but decided to let Gon display it. Hoping it would be enough explanation.

Gon then settled back into his stance one last time.

"Okay! First comes rock…"

"Jan.."

"Ken…"

"Scissors!"

Gon made a swinging motion and instead of the concentrated aura breaking the ground in which they stood on or flying off, It stayed there on his right hand.

Gon had stuck out both his index and middle finger and from it, the aura formed into a sharp, almost knife-like shape.

"The idea of this attack is that it lets me cut stuff." Gon summarized.

Piccolo looked intrigued. "This is new…"

"Yeah!" Gohan spoke out in amazement. "I've never seen anything like it. Really good Gon! It takes a lot of creativity to come up with something like that." He complimented.

Videl nodded. "I kinda wanna see it in action though… Is there anything we can use to test it out?" She asked.

Gon shook the back of his head with his left hand. "Ummm…" He quickly glanced down at his feet. "I guess I can try cutting the grass?" He said, sounding unsure.

Piccolo scoffed. "No need. We can use the crater you made to make something for you to cut."

Gon's eyes furrowed in confusion before quickly picking up what Piccolo was referring to. "Oh! I get it. There's bound to be a bit of solid dirt inside there. Good thinking!"

Piccolo turned toward the crater and then proceeded to close his eyes. His face adopted a stern, deep look of concentration.

Gon stared at him, bewildered. "Um... Piccolo? What are you doing..?"

Videl walked over to Gon's left side. She bent down to Gon's height and spoke gently into his ear with a serious tone...

"I think he's trying to let out a fart…"

Gon broke out into a laugh. "Pfff- W-what?!" He said, both of them giggling. Gohan, despite knowing what Piccolo was doing, felt himself grin and moved his hand to cover his lower face.

Piccolo was not amused.

Eventually, a piece of solid earth made its way skyward from the center of the crater. Both Gon and Videl were caught off guard.

"How is that thing flying?!" Gon said, caught off guard.

"That's telekinesis. A very advanced technique." Gohan explained.

As soon as Videl picked her jaw up from the ground, she gave Gohan a glare.

"Since when has THAT been a thing? Have you been holding out on me?!" Videl said, slightly annoyed.

Gohan gave a nervous grin. "O-of course not honey! I just…" He looked down at the ground embarrassed, blushing slightly while scratching his cheek. "I just kinda forgot to mention it…"

Videl gave a playful eye roll before Piccolo called for their attention. "Gon!"

Gon looked back at Piccolo, once more, regaining his focus.

"Prepare yourself. I am going to launch this your way. Understand?"

Gon nodded, adjusting his body into a stance ready for battle. He held his right arm with the energy blade with his left arm, planning to use the strength of both to cut through the mass of and Videl moved in order to give Gon some space.

"Okay! Go ahead!" He shouted.

Second after those words left his mouth, The floating piece of earth rushed at him at great speeds.

Gon narrowed his eyes and focused everything he had into the blade.

Inhale.

Pivot.

Step forward.

Swing.

SLASH!

The piece of ground, now behind Gon, Split cleanly in half and fell to the ground. Gon relaxed his posture and allowed the sharp aura in his hand to dissipate. Piccolo flew over to him and gently landed on the ground.

"Impressive." He said. "But it can still be improved."

Gon looked over at him, confused. "How so?"

Piccolo looked at Gon's right hand. "While the blade itself is incredibly effective, You can still work on the length of it. Right now, given how short it is, You'll only be able to use it during close combat or when you and an opponent are rushing each other."

"I get it... Then I'd be able to use it to keep my opponents away while having more options for long range combat!" Gon said, immediately getting his point. Piccolo nodded as Gohan and Videl walked over to Gon's side.

"That. Was. Awesome!" Videl praised "Hey, Gon? You think you can teach me how to do that?" She asked.

Gon nodded, a boyish smile on his face. "Sure! No problem." He said casually. Piccolo raised a brow at Videl.

"I thought you were supposed to be the teacher." He remarked. Videl gave him a playful glare.

"It's never too late to learn something new." She pointed out.

Looking over at Gon, Piccolo closed his eyes, crossing his arms over each other. "Be patient with her. Compared to you, she's a slow learner." He jabbed.

Videl squawked in offense. "Hey! Shut up, you…" She said, fuming. Piccolo looked at her smugly.

Gohan shook his head in amusement and began to think about how he could pitch in to help Gon's training. For starters, they would definitely need to work on his ability to shoot Ki. While the blast Gon had shot was strong, it took up way too much time to charge.

The same could be said about the other two variations of the Ja-Janken. In battle, as Gohan had learned over many years, It was imperative that you make every second count. Even the smallest slip up could cost you the fight. Or worse, your life.

Perhaps even he could get his father to pitch in and give some tips. When it came to all forms of combat, his father was a very special teacher to have. After all, he took to martial arts like how a fish takes to water.

Speaking of which…

Gohan had noticed that Goku had been rather busy these past few days. He seemed to be running around a lot from what he had heard during a call with his mother. Even Videl said that when she had seen him, he had seemed to be in a rush. Knowing his father, it probably had something to do with fighting. After all, he had gained three new students. It wouldn't be illogical to think that he had something planned for them.

'I wonder where he is now..?' He thought silently.

Goten stared into a sea of trees, his backpack hanging loosely from his shoulders and back. He smiled excitedly as he took in the precious view.

He had just seen a large opening within the forest that led to a cave entrance. According to the local villagers, There was a humongous dinosaur sleeping inside. Goten decided to go investigate and see if he could study the creature.

He leapt down gracefully from the trees and began walking to the cave.

As he made his way toward the large stone structure, Goten made sure to check the map that he obtained from a group of local merchants. He took out a pen from his shirt pocket and jotted down his location to make sure he didn't get lost, after which he put the map away.

He reached into his right pocket and took out a small notebook. On it, he jotted down his next plan now that he had finally arrived at the correct location.

'Let's see... I should have enough time today to see if the monster is real or not. After that, maybe I'll be able to study some of it's habits before I'm done.' He thought as he wrote fervently.

Before he could continue, he felt himself bump into something strong and solid. Rubbing his face, he looked up to see none other than his own father.

"Hi!" Goku cheerfully greeted.

...

"Dad!" Goten cried out after getting past the initial surprise. He latched onto his father's legs as the older man patted his head.

"Gosh! Looks like your hair's gotten longer son! Chi-Chi's gonna wanna give you a haircut when you get back." Goku commented, chuckling

It had been three weeks since Goten left on his adventure. This was the fourth and final week before he had to go back home. Before he had set out, Chi-Chi made sure to give him a comfortable set of clothes and equipment fit for traveling. Right now, he was wearing a buttoned up white shirt with pockets on both sides, beige shorts with side and back pockets, and brown hiking boots.

While he had been away, Goten had learned quite a bit during his travels. From history to traveling tips and even a few techniques.

One of his favorite subjects to learn was, of course, animals. From the type of animal to their habitats and daily routine, he just couldn't get enough of it! Which was why he was going to explore the dinosaur that had been seen by the nearby villages recently.

"What are you doing here?" He asked, clearly happy to see him.

Goku bent down to Goten's height and placed a hand over his right shoulder. "Sorry to interrupt your adventure, but I have some really exciting news for you and I just couldn't wait!"

"What is it?" Goten looked at him curiously.

Goku grinned. "Okay. So about a week ago, Three kids showed up looking for a teacher. From what I saw, they had some serious potential!"

Goten was immediately intrigued. "Really?"

"Yeah! Asked me to train 'em and everything!" He elaborated. "So anyway, two weeks from today, I plan on fighting all of them at once. A week after that, I'm gonna hold a private tournament, so that all of our friends, and the three new kids, can compete and see how much everyone's improved!"

Goku held up a fist toward his son. "I came here to ask if you wanted to be in it. The winner gets a wish with the Dragon Balls." He said in an offering manner.

Goten's eyes sparked with interest. "That sounds AWESOME! Will I get to meet the new people too? Are they strong?"

Goku gave an equally excited smile. "They sure are! Right now they're training for when they fight me, but you'll definitely see them when you get back."

Goten nodded, now fired up. "Count me in then! Ooh, is Trunks gonna be there?"

Goku nodded. "Of course. I doubt he'd miss out on the chance to fight you. Plus Vegeta is probably not gonna be happy if he doesn't enter." He said, confident in his statement.

Goten laughed, nodding.

Goku then proceeded to fill Goten in on who the new people were, who they were being trained by and how the training seemed to be going. Goten made sure to listen to his father intently. Goku then looked up toward the sky and proceeded to face his son. It was time for him to go, as he had many things to do and so he said his goodbyes to Goten.

"Be sure to keep getting stronger. You can train alongside them when you get back if you want!"

Recognizing that his father was leaving, Goten nodded. "Got it. Thanks for telling me dad. Good luck setting up the tournament! I'll see you soon! I love you!" he waved.

Goku gave him a wink before placing his fingers on his forehead and disappearing.

Now alone, Goten once again headed for the cave. He put his excitement for the tournament and newfound eagerness to return home on the side and once again regained his focus on what he was doing previously.

'Now, let's find ourselves a dinosaur!'

For three hours, Gon had been training nonstop.

At this point, the boy was sweating profusely as he worked on his aura. Gohan looked over at Gon, who was currently trying to increase the size of his ki blade. Piccolo was at his side supervising. Suddenly, Gohan remembered something important.

"Hey Gon!" He called out, getting the boy's attention. "Dad told me you fought him. Did you use your Ja-Janken against him?"

Gon nodded before turning back to his energy. "Yeah. I used paper but he countered it with a ki blast." He responded, exhaustion lacing his voice.

Gohan nodded and began to contemplate. Videl turned to him. "What are you thinking about?" She asked. Gohan turned to her and told her what was on his mind.

"Just thinking of how we could help Gon improve his energy blasts." He explained. "Do you have any ideas?"

Videl pondered for a minute. "Maybe we could have him shoot them repeatedly throughout the day. That way, it would exercise his ability to shoot energy blasts, as well as increase his ki." She suggested.

Gohan smiled. "That's a really good idea. It would also help increase the power of the blasts."

They both grinned and nodded to each other before turning back to Piccolo and Gon.

Gon grunted as he exerted more energy into his finger tips. His energy blade had increased by a mere four centimeters.

Piccolo raised his hand. "Alright. Take a quick breather." He commanded.

Gon's energy blade dissipated and he fell to the floor exhausted.

Videl took out a bottle of water from a bag she had brought from home, wanting to make sure all of them stayed hydrated. Gon gave her a tired smile and nodded in appreciation. He downed half of the bottle within a couple of seconds.

"It managed to increase by a small amount." Piccolo stated. "Keep up the training and soon enough it will be longer."

Gon sighed and looked back up at Piccolo. "How long do you think it should be..?"

"Right now it's about 25cm. But it would be more helpful for you if you managed to increase it to the size of an actual sword. 75 cm should be enough."

Gon looked down at his fingertips, his eyes furrowing in concentration.

'While making it longer will definitely help, I don't think that should be the only thing I do to improve it. No. A much better upgrade for my Ja-Janken, would be to start using conditions.' Gon thought, sitting up right. 'As it is right now, I can pretty much use my Ja-Janken in pretty much any situation I want. But to make each of the techniques more effective, I'm gonna have to put limits as to when and how I can use them. Maybe Killua can giv- Wait. That's it!'

He thought for a moment, before turning to get Piccolo's attention.

"Hey, Piccolo?"

The tall mentor looked down to look at Gon.

"I was wondering, could you ask Goku if it would be alright if I meet up with Killua and Alluka one week before we fight him?"

Piccolo, raising a brow, nodded. "I'm sure he won't mind. Why though?"

"I wanna strategize with them on how we could beat Goku. Maybe work on a technique that could help the three of us take him down." He explained.

Piccolo nodded in understanding. "Sure. I'll talk to him about it." He said, taking pride in the fact that Gon was going for a smarter approach.

Still though… Beating Goku would be no easy task.

On top of him being a saiyan, Goku had years worth of experience fighting opponents several times stronger than Gon. It also didn't help that, at full power, he could destroy the planet about as easily as a person could break a wooden toothpick.

Gon smiled and breathed out a sigh.

'Perfect! This way, the three of us can work on our aura more effectively. Training with them has really made me stronger, but I need to be able to work on my nen without these guys getting suspicious of how different our aura systems are."

Gon looked up toward the distance thoughtfully.

'I wish Nanika would help us out on this. I wonder why it hasn't been coming out anymore... ' He contemplated, slightly upset.

He figured that maybe it's magical abilities didn't work in this world. Maybe they were restricted to their original world. It didn't change the fact that he started to miss the clever entity.

It had a very intelligent and analytic view on things, much like Killua. It was kind, intelligent and refined in it's mannerisms. It could also be surprisingly snarky, and had a rare quirky sense of humor that never failed to get a giggle out of him.

Whatever the case was, Gon couldn't help but feel that something wasn't right.

Shaking his head, he accepted that there was nothing he could do about it. Hopefully nothing bad will come of it.

Something was wrong with his sister.

This morning, when he had awoken, he noticed that Alluka had a few tear stains on her face. Chalking it up to it being a nightmare, he had offered to listen to her explanation of what she had seen once she had woken up. But despite his insistence, she refused to speak of it. politely declining.

That was fine. Nightmares sometimes did that to people. He would just have to wait for it to wear out.

She seemed happy, leading him to breakfast, greeting Chi-Chi as kindly and cheerfully as usual.

But Killua could tell that there was something off in her expression.

Whenever he wasn't looking, she gave him longing glances, before quickly looking back at her food. She ate slower than normal, with a contemplative look on her face. While she was good at hiding it, there was no fooling him.

To Killua, all of her mannerisms seemed so... forced.

It was- it just felt wrong.

Was it his teaching methods?

Did he mess up in some stupid way that made her like this?

Sighing in frustration, he focused more on his food, eating his worries away. He could only hope that whatever was causing her to act so unusual would pass. After all, most nightmare effects did. And if not then surely she would approach him on the matter. He and Gon had taught her to always be honest with how she feels to them. That there was no shame in feeling sad or having a bad day.

She wouldn't keep it in. Not for long.

Right..?

Alright!

I hope you liked the two chapter special. I promise I'll try to make sure future chapters don't take as long.

Next time on Dragon Hunter ZX, Goten is coming home!

I Always found Goten as someone who was interested in studying animals. I don't think he's really all that passionate about fighting, but rather views it as a way to have some competition with Trunks as well as to bond with his father. Although I guess he also views it as a fun sport.

In hindsight, it's probably why he grew apart from it at the end of Z. He see's fighting the way we see hobbies. They're fun to do, but not all the time. And as you grow up your interests tend to change a lot.

BTW: I will be including both Gon's and Gohan's birthday in this fic, just to make it more wholesome. I won't be including Piccolo's though. Don't get me wrong, I love our mean green fighting machine as much as the next guy, but considering his life style, I don't think he celebrates it. Heck, under the circumstances he was born under I'm not even sure he knows when it is.

Anyway that's all I gotta say!

See You all next chapter!
