And a whole bunch of Grimm everywhere!
"Using Kitsune Genjutsu: Abyss to kill him, not a bad idea."
'Bastard had it coming since day one, so I gave it to him. Plus, I can tell you enjoyed his screams, Karma-chan.' All Naruto heard was her chuckling as he jumped from tree to tree, surprised when he saw what looked like Iruka waiting for him. "Iruka-sensei, what are you doing?"
"I thought we would go back together. What happened to Mizuki?" His question was answered when Naruro slowly rubbed his neck. "Are you ok?" Naruto looked into the older man's eyes and smiled, Nodding his head.
"Yeah I'm fine, but I feel like there's another reason why you waited here." Naruto gave Iruka a sceptical look, watching as he scanned the surroundings. Cleaning his throat and pulling the oversized scroll from his back, he set it down in front of Naruto. "I think you deserve to have a look through this, just this once in case you don't believe me when I say I'm on your side."
Naruto was speechless. Iruka was allowing him to actually look through the Forbidden Scroll of Sealing? He would have laughed out loud if the seriousness of his face was otherwise. "Are you sure?" All he got was a smile and nod, confirming his question.
Taking it, he sat down and rolled it open. The list of jutsu contained within was enormous, way more than what he thought would be in here.
The good thing about having Karma within his subconscious, is that he not only allowed her to access his senses but also part of his memories. She could help sort through what he was looking at and pick out those that were useful or not. Scanning the scroll for ten minutes, Naruto rolled it up and handed it back to Iruka. "Thanks Iruka-sensei."
"...and that's what happened." Iruka had just finished explaining what had happened in the forest, excluding some parts. The part where Mizuki tells Naruto the secret and him allowing Naruto a look into the scroll. The blond had stayed beside Iruka without so much as a word, instead, taking in the room he hadn't been in the past five years.
"Thank you, Umino Iruka." Turning his eyes upon the newly fresh genin, the Hokage thought about what to do. The past five years had all but been different from what he thought, throwing plans out of the room. He hadn't seen much of the boy since the incident five years ago, and with his crystal ball unable to watch the blond, he didn't know what to do.
"How did you find yourself in that situation, Naruto-kun." Telling the aged Hokage how he saw Mizuki run with a large scroll of his back so late in the night, he followed him and observed him. He left out the part of Orochimaru and said that he was delivering it to someone, but didn't know who. "Thank you. It's a good thing you two were able to find and finish the traitor before he was able to escape."
Bowing before their leader, they both exited from the room and were hoping to catch some sleep. Before parting ways, Iruka reminded Naruto of the week break before they would return for team placements. Giving his thanks and a hug, they parted ways.
As Naruto was heading towards his apartment he caught something in the corner of his eyes, a figure moving within the shadows. He couldn't sense it, which was surprising since he could always see what a person was feeling if he wanted to. He could even tell what the Hokage was feeling, but was unable to identify what it was exactly as there were too many colors and new shades he never experienced.
Focusing back on the present moment, Naruto continued on his way carefully, trying to grasp what exactly is following him. 'Do you have an idea, Karma-chan?'
"I have no idea, but whatever it is doesn't have a soul." Naruto faulted in his walk, almost tripping. A soul is what makes someone or something alive, so what makes something that doesn't have a soul? 'Are you able to sense it?'
"Barely. It's radiating some type of negative energy that I've never felt before." Karma went silent for a few minutes, before talking. "There seems to be one watching Hinata-chan as well, but she's safe from what I saw."
'So it seems they are just watching us, but for what purpose?'
Arriving at his apartment, Naruto watched as the thing that was following him disappeared. "I can't sense the negative energy anymore, including the one that was watching Hinata-chan." Seeing as this was connected to both of them somehow, Naruto needed a plan.
It was a little past noon when Hinata showed up at Naruto's place, having been called over by mother fox- Hinata's way of calling her. The Hyūga heiress found her blond boyfriend mediating in the middle of his room, so she went to grab a drink for the both of them and waited patiently for him to finish. She noticed he was wearing grey baggy pants with a black shirt folded beside him.
She already knew why she was called over since she too had felt the eyes of something watching her, and it seemed her blond man had also. After a few minutes, Naruto finished his meditation and took a seat next to her, drowning half of the bottle. "Was it still there this morning?" Taking a moment to look at his girlfriend's state of clothing, wearing her iconic get up, grey jacket and pants with a black tank top underneath.
"No, it seemed that it was tasked with watching me for a while last night before disappearing." Naruto nodded his head, having guessed it wouldn't be there in the morning. "Was your Byakugan able to see it?"
"My eyes couldn't see anything activated."
"Krama said I couldn't sense it because it didn't have a soul, but if your eyes couldn't see it then this thing watching us is something that isn't from around here."
They discussed his plan on what to do before heading out for some ramen, only to have to stop in their tracks as a pool of black liquid appeared in the middle of his bedroom. Emerged from it was a creature that was all black but with a skull like mask on his face and its red eyes. It was on four legs and looked like a very oversized wolf.
"My Master… has… requested your pres...ence…" the wolf creature said, staring at them. Naruto and Hinata had both taken a fighting stance, and hadn't losses as they spoke. Carefully studying the creature, Naruto got out of his stance but still had his guard up.
"Who is this Master and what does it have to do with us?" Naruto said. Whatever this creature was, it was able to get past his defences and who knows how long it had been watching them till it showed itself.
The creature stood in the pool of darkness liquid, as he answered. "She is… the one that… rules over the...Land of Dark… ness." It's voice never once showed emotions, and Naruto doubted it could feel any. "But why us?"
"It is not… my place… to say." So all he found out is that the ruler of this land of Darkness wanted them both, and that she had been watching them for some time now. Turing to get Hinata's answer, he received a nod before facing forward.
"Okay, we'll go."
"Then… come and stand… within… the shadow." Carefully making their way toward the strange black creature and within the strange liquid, they only had a few seconds before they started to sink.
"Once you… get… there… be prepared…" was the last thing they heard before they were fully submerged, everything turning black.
Soft and barely audio footsteps could be heard down a long and lightly lit hallway, where a tall and beautiful woman was on her way to check on her champion and his first lover. Arriving at a tall black door that was tougher than steel, she quietly opened it to find the two in bed, the girl snuggled up to her blond champion. And as if by some magical force, the two started to wake up from their slumber.
It took them a moment to realize that they weren't in any place they recognized, hearing a chuckle from the person in front of them. Their eyes widened looking upon the beautiful woman.
She had deathly white skin with a slightly brighter white long hair, and crimson eyes with black scleras. Her white hair was styled in one big bun with three smaller ones on each side, tied with thin black string like material. She stood at a height of a hundred and eighty-two (six foot five), with mpressive B-cup breasts and a thin waist. She wore a short sleeve black dress with red lines running through it, a diamond cut between her cleavage. She also had dark reddish/purplish veins running through her exposed arm and up her face, connecting to her eyes.
The woman was the first to break the silence seeing as they were speechless. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Namikaze Uzumaki Naruto, Hyūga Hinata. I am Salem, the Master of Grimm and ruler of the Land of Darkness." Walking towards the door she waved for the two very young teenagers to follow her, and seeing as they were literally in her territory they had nowhere to go.
"You said Grimm, what is that? Is that the black creature we saw?" Naruto asked as Hinata had her Byakugan activated as they walked down the very long hallway.
"The one that brought you here was a Grimm called 'The Hound', it's a very adaptable Grimm that can talk and change its form to an extent. Grimm are creatures of Darkness, created for the sole purpose of destroying humanity. But that was eons ago, and such have no purpose now. They serve one Master of Darkness to the next, an almost never ending cycle."
It was quiet after that until they arrived at their destination, two huge double doors made of a black material stood between them and the inside. "I'm sure you have many questions, so don't be afraid to speak." Pushing them open, they saw a rectangular table with seven wooden chairs surrounding it. "Take a seat and we may begin."
Salem took the one at the end, with Naruto and Hinata taking a seat on her right. "What are you?" Was Naruto's first question when they were all seated, seeing as she didn't look nor feel human. Salem let out a small smile before she spoke. "You're going to have to be more specific."
"You don't feel like a normal human, at least not one I've ever sensed before. So what exactly are you?"
"I was once a human many many centuries ago, that I am sure of. But after coming here and entering the Darkness, I was reborn as something close to a God."
"Darkness sure is used a lot." Karma jokes, earning a mental Naruto shaking his head. "Jokes aside, I've been feeling an astronomical amount of negative energy."
"How long have you been watching Naruto-kun?" Hinata asked, a bit of jealousy in her voice as she grabbed his hand. Naruto smiled as he tightened the hold, looking at Salem. Salem herself envied the love they had, as she had been watching them for some time.
"Right around the time he met you I believe, if that fight against the lowly human dog was anything to go by. If anything, I should be thanking you Hyūga Hinata, since it was your strong feeling of love you had for him that allowed me to sense him."
A few more questions were asked, like how she was able to watch them and if she always had eyes on them. She had explained that she had her Grimm watch them a few hours everyday during and after they were at the academy, having them stay in the shadows at all times.
"There's just three more questions I have for you." Getting a nod, he continued. "What is this Land of Darkness? Who are you and why were you watching us?"
"The Land of Darkness isn't part of your world nor any world for a matter of fact, having a different time zone of one day here being eight hours in yours, the land and everything within it was banished and thrown away from my world after losing the war that had been raging on for centuries. The land was created by an actual God in my own world before the times of humans, but it was barren and home to the creatures it made.
"Within these lands are Pools of darkness, where Grimm are born and where I was reborn. They are made of the Gods energy, filled with powerful dark and negative energy. It was in these Pools of Darkness that I entered but instead of it killing me, my body absorbed some of the energy and I was reborn as the master and ruler of the Land. I am no longer human, but a God within these barren and dark lands.
"As for the reason I have watched you two, it's because I wish for you to become the new ruler and master of the Land of Darkness and have my long life wish come true." Salem finished her answers, watching as the two young teenagers took in her explanation.
It has been some time since she had an actual conversation with another person since the banishment, and since Grimm weren't the best partners for talking, it was a breath of fresh air for her. After a few more minutes of watching them go over what they had heard Hinata asked her a question. "What do you mean when you say 'New ruler'."
"I wish both of you to enter the Pool of Darkness and become this world's ruler, so that my children will have a purpose again." It wasn't hard to know who her children were, and Hinata didn't know what to say or how to react. Taking a glance at her boyfriend, she was surprised to have seen a smile appear on his face, one she hadn't seen on his face before.
"I'll do it." Naruto said, looking Hinata in the eyes, waiting for her answer. Staring into his eyes, the Hyūga heiress could see that he wasn't pressuring her into doing. She let out a small cute chuckle, having already decided the answer as Naruto spoke his own. "I'll follow you anywhere, Naruto-kun."
Salem couldn't be more proud of them, having them accept the position and responsibility and the love they had for each other, she knew her children would have a grand purpose. "We will proceed with the ritual tomorrow and in the meantime, I'll have 'The Hound' show you around the area."
Naruto and Hinata were surprised as they walked the barren land, nothing like anything from their home. The sky was dark red with a lighter shade or red clouds, and a bright broken moon in the sky. The land was rocky and had large black crystals embedded into the ground scattered across the area. They passed quite a few of those Pool of Darkness along the way, where Naruto and Karma were able to feel an enormous amount of negative energy swirling inside it. They had seen Gimm of all species and sizes on land and in the sky, all black with the white face skull and red eyes.
"This… is the Sea… of… Eternal Darkness… where… our Master… was reborn in." 'The Hound' said with his monotone voice. As Naruto and Hinata gazed upon the Sea of Darkness, they could physically feel the power and negative energy on their skin. Karma was absolutely floored with the amount before her, where she could practically feel it inside Naruto's mindscape.
As they returned to the crystal castle, they were led into the same room they had their talk with Salem. The only difference was that there was food now where they all sat, with a cup of some red liquid. "I hope you do enjoy it." She said as they took their seats and watched her eat. There was mashed potatoes, bread and a piece of meat on a bone. The drink was their first taste of wine and they honestly liked it too, having gone through a few glasses.
By the time everyone was finished eating, Salem showed them and their tipsy selves back to the room they were in earlier that morning and bid them a good night. That night Naruto and Hinata didn't know what happened, having woken up with them in only their underwear cuddling.
After a small breakfast, the three of them sat quietly. "There's a few things you both need to know when you take in the power, and understand the heavy responsibilities that come with it. Which means you two could die when stepping into the darkness." Salem said, Hinata's eyes widening and her hand being grabbed by her partner.
"What do you mean we could die? You didn't think it was important to use this yesterday!" Naruto angrily said, one hand gripping Hinata's hand and the other on the table edge, cracks forming from his grip. "Would you have stayed if I told you that there was a ninety-five percent chance of death for both of you? I think not."
Naruto's left eye twitched as he realized she was right, he most likely would have declined and was close to doing it now if it didn't mean setting his plans back a few years. Plans he had yet to tell Hinata about and was going to if he still wanted Hinata by his side and her help, after all, he loved Hinata more than anyone in his life- the Ichiraku family included. "So that was the reason you had your 'Hound' guide us through the land yesterday, to give us a good understanding of the surroundings."
Salem nodded at Hinata's conclusion. "That is partly true, for I had a sense he wouldn't disagree." Naruto's eyes widened a bit at the implications, Hinata shooting him a questionable glance. "How long have you known?"
She said she had been watching him for sometime so it wasn't a total surprise that Salem would know, but how much she knew was the question. "For some time now, plus, if I noticed it in your eyes yesterday your lover surely noticed something." Naruto looked over at Hinata and knew Salem was right, Hinata knew something was up and if the slightest sudden feeling he was sensing from her was anything, he knew he would have to tell her.
"But that aside, let's continue our conversation. The Sea of Darkness is where I was reborn into what I am today but even then I only received a vastly small portion of its power, the amount similar to what chunin in your world have. My children of Grimm are born from the many Pools of Darkness that scatter across the land, holding a vastly small amount of negative energy compared to the Sea of Darkness.
"The reason is that when you enter, the high density concentration of negative energy is made partly of the life force of the God of Darkness, and gets absorbed into your body and into each of your cells. The energy will alter your body to suit its need, and it will try to take control of your mind. If that happens, there is nothing anyone will be able to do but wait as you lose all sense of reason and die a few hours later."
Salem, before she got banished, had tried to create another ruler, only to have been heavily injured and part of her children gone. Since her banishment, she's been waiting for the moment someone could come and take her place, ridding her of the curse of immortality and the responsibility that comes with the land and its inhabitants. Don't get her wrong, Salem loves her Children of Grimm, but she knows she could only take them so far and that another master who was more capable and powerful is what her children needed.
Naruto looked at Hinata, having a mental conversation of what they wanted to do. They knew the risks were high but so was the idea of rewards, something Naruto himself was willing to take. Hinata knew her blond man would survive, and even though they were perfect for each other, she would make it through the process.
"How would we go about doing this?" She needed to know if she could make it, she needed to stay by his side no matter what!
"You would both enter the Sea of Darkness and submerge underneath for three days and three nights, where you would be in a sleep-like state. Your body will go through a massive amount of pain as the energy is absorbed into your cells, destroying and reconstructing your body, soul and mind. Once you emerge, you will have full control over the Grimm and will be able to communicate and create more when need be. You will also experience changes to your body, both physically and mentally.
I will accompany you to the area and will go from there."
Arriving at the Sea of Darkness, Salem still remembered the first time she came here almost those centuries ago. The idea of ending her life of immortality and to curse the God of Light, instead she was reborn as the new master of the land with the purpose of destroying the God of Light and its world, but that was in the past of her old world. Now she'll be able to leave this life of her's and enter an eternal sleep, knowing her children shall be reborn into stronger creatures and serve a new purpose with their new ruler.
This was how it was always supposed to be…
Reaching into a hidden pocket in her black dress, Salem pulled out two small and thin valves that were half filled with a black substance. "Drink this, it'll help stabilize the energy absorption process." They looked at it for a second before drowning the liquid. It was thick, tasteless and slightly rubbery, allowing them to get it over quickly.
"What was that?"
"A mixture of my blood and a low concentration of negative energy from the Pool of Darkness. We'll let your body get used to the substance before you go in, so we will continue in a few minutes. Are there any last minute questions?"
"What do we have to do with you achieving your wish?" Naruto asked. He wasn't going to ask but with everything happening right now, he wanted to know why she needed them other than succeeding her place in the Land of Darkness. Salem was silent as she looked over the Sea of Darkness, a smile gracing her lip, as if remembering a long lost memory.
"My purpose for choosing you and her was so that I may give my children a reason for their existence now that can not roam outside these lands. But long before I became the ruler of this place, I had wanted to reunite with my beloved who was taken from me by the very God that created me and it's people. I wish to meet him in the afterlife even for just a second, so that I may tell him that I still loved him after all these years." Her last sentence was directed at both Naruto and Hinata, knowing they'll always love each other.
"There's one more thing that needs to be done before either of you enter…" Walking up the negative energy sea, she made her way in. "...I need to give up my right to the power I hold and leave this life. That is when you both need to enter so that this world doesn't collapse on itself with no ruler." Before either of them could say anything, Salem entered the Sea of Darkness and slowly descended underneath.
'Ozma, you may not be able to forgive me after everything I've done but I couldn't take it when you were taken from me again. I've placed my children in the hands of my champion and his first love, how they remind me of us before we were cursed with a never ending war. I know they will be able to give the Children of Grimm a new purpose, one that I could never fully give them after the banishment. I hope to see you one last time, so that I may tell you….'
She thought as she was fully submerged and felt the negative energy that once gave her so much power start to flow back into the Sea of Darkness, and her life force following along. '...that I never stopped loving you!', and with her last thought, Salem ceased to be the master of the Land of Darkness and Children of Grimm.
After a few minutes they started to notice the sky turn black when it always stayed blood red, signaling their time to get into the Sea of Darkness. Nodding to each other they both walked hand-in-hand, feeling the dense and potent negative climb up their legs, pain slowly increasing. Shearing one last kiss, they took a deep breath and submerged themselves within the dark liquid.
When Salem said they would feel pain throughout their body and the reason why, they didn't know it would be something right out of a die hard sadistic religion type of pain, ones where you never die but keep experiencing the unrivaled pain every second of your time in that type of hell. The only thing that kept them going was their joined hands, knowing they'll make it through together.

"They're misunderstood creatures, Ozma! Forced to do the bidding of the God that created them, just like us, forced to fight them in an endless fight!"

"God of Light, please bring back Ozma for he has been devoted to you since the beginning! I beg of you!"

"Salem… I love you…"
"T...This wasn't supposed to happen… Why? Why bring him back if you were going to take him away so soon!? Why God!"

"If we can't be together in the living, I'll break the curse of immortality and die in the Land of Darkness. May this God be more merciful than the one that took your faith and abandoned you…"

Naruto and Hinata both emerged, covered in black tar like liquid dripping off their bodies. Making their way to the rocky shore that covered the entire land hand-in -hand, the substance started to be beginning to be absorbed by their skin and leaving them dried. Eyes still closed, they let their enhanced senses spread out onto the world, their power calling all types of Grimm to them. When they opened their eyes all the Children of Grimm that were with Salem were bowing down, land and air Grimm were covering the space in front of them for miles and miles.
After a few seconds, the one they recognized as 'The Hound' stepped forward and spoke. "We wel… come… the new… rulers of the… land…" while his voice was still monotone, the both of them could tell that 'The Hound' and every single one of them were loyal to them.
"We're glad to hear that, Hound. We are counting on you and the others in the future, but for now you may all go so me and Hinata-chan can discuss some things." Receiving a nod in return, the hundred of thousands of Grimm started to disperse. Once they were all gone, Naruto turned back to the Sea of Darkness and started to think about what he saw while he was submerged.
All this time Hinata was taking in the change her blond man had taken in, and she liked it. His blond hair was a shade darker with black streaks and longer, stopping between his shoulder blades. His skin that was once a healthy tan was paler now, along with more shape and defined muscles. His face was a noticeable change, with him now having longer canines that poked out from his mouth and more darker and shaper whisker marks. His eyes were the same bright blue but with a black and hint of red pupil.
He was still wearing his black shirt that now hugged his body tightly and his gery baggy pants were not as baggy now. Hinata licked her lips as she looked upon his magnificent form, her loins starting to become moist and her stomach fluttering.
Hinata too had undergone a physical change, with her long lavender hair reaching a little past her middle back. Her skin had a healthy pale completion, along with sharper muscles but also kept her feminine charm. She went from C- cup breasts to D-cup breasts, with more of a bounce to her hips. Her pale lavender eyes were paler and had a darker lavender look into them. She also had slightly longer canines that barely poked out from behind her lips, and was a few centimetres taller.
Her jacket had apparently disappeared from her body, leaving her in just her tight tank top which highlights her developed chest, and her pants were slightly above her ankles.
Just then they started to sense something within the Sea of Darkness start to swirl and thrashed underneath the negative liquid before an explosion erupted and another person emerged. This one was a female sporting long dark red hair with four black streaks, with a healthy pale completion. She had curves in all the right places and a bounce in her hips, C-cup breasts and muscular but feminine body. She had two red and white fox ears and nine long red tails, slowly swaying from side to side. The one aspect she had that they recognized was her bright golden red eyes that now had a black outline separating the golden outside and red pupil.
"I'm just as surprised as you-" She said before getting tackled by the young man, laughing at his antics."Hahaha! It's good to feel you too, Naru-kun. You too, Hina-chan."
"As you, Karma-chan." Hinata replied with a greeting bow, before she too hugged the physical body of the Kyuubi-no-Kitsune.
Arriving at the castle, all three of them sat at the table, Naruto taking the seat at the head and Hinata on his left with Karma on his right. "So first thing first, do you know how you were able to escape from the seal? Cause I can still feel you and the seal." It was a question of curiosity and not of a demanding and accusing one, just pure curiosity.
"My only conclusion would be that when your body started to absorb the negative energy, my Bijū negative chakra and the Sea of Darkness negative energy mixed and formed a body, pulling part of my consciousness with. So while my body is made out of Grimm energy, my Bijū chakra is flowing through this new body, a body I am definitely liking." She said, looking down at her seated body, Naruto and Hinata sweat dropped at the perverted fox they had known for years.
"Well, it's good to finally meet you out in the real world, Karma-chan." Smiled Hinata.
"Now that the perverted fox situation has been solved, we have another problem. We've been here for three days, meaning a day and half has passed out in our world and I know the Hokage has already sent out his men to search for us." Naruto explained to them the complications that could befall them if they weren't back within the next twenty fours hours with an excuse that they could use.
After a few hours of brainstorming ideas and people that could cover for them if they needed an alibi, it was now Karma's turn to admit the truth.
"Now for the last topic that needs to be discussed." This drew both of the young lovers' attention, looking at her with confused expressions. Even if this goes horribly wrong, she needed him to know what was going on in the beginning. "You need to know the truth about the night we first met, and what I was about to do as well."
Taking a deep breath, she began. "That night when you were telling me about how the village and its people mistreated you, keeping knowledge away from you, I noticed the anger and betrayal rolling off of you. I was going to use that to make you into my slave since I couldn't escape the seal unless you died of natural causes, breaking your mind until you submitted yourself to me."
Seeing his expressionless face, Karma took a deep breath and continued. "But I couldn't do it, it didn't even last more than a few months before I actually saw you as my own son. The time we spent together, teaching you as much as I could was one of the proudest moments in my life. I'm not looking for forgiveness, but I am very sorry that I even had those thoughts." By the end, Karma had her head bowed and tears on the edge of her eyes, hoping he wasn't going to be too mad.
"It's OK, Karma-chan, so pick up your head." Slowly doing as told, her eyes widened when instead of a frown or angry expression, he had a genuine smile, one that was reserved for only those he trusted. "I figured something like that was happening in the beginning, and I would have gladly followed you if that happened."
"But it didn't, so let's put that to rest." Hinata finished. With It being a long three days for the three of them it was time for some relaxation, something Hinata planned to give him tonight.
On their way, Krama pulled Hinata to the side. "I know what you're planning, and I want in." Now Hinata didn't know what to think about this, mainly because Karma was like a mother-in-law to her and a mother to her boyfriend. She had been there for the both of them through the years, but she knew the love they had for Naruto was different. Karma's love was that of a mother and son, a mother that was free to do anything she wanted with her everything but blood son now that she had a physical body. Hinata's love was where she was practically ready to give herself to him from day one of dating, giving him her heart, soul and body.
Now she wasn't in the slightest disgusted by her notion but found herself more turned on, way more than she would have thought. "Only if I take his first, and then you can join in after the first shot."
"We both know he has the stamina to take us both many times over, so how about this. You can take each other's first times, and then I'll jump in when it looks good."
