Chapter 1 Prehistory in the Remaking
A massive asteroid was heading straight for Earth and all the dinosaurs in the area looked up at the sky. The giant space rock crashed into Earth sending all kinds of debris into the atmosphere, until…
"Egh! Ow I must have fallen asleep." A boy said as he fell from his bed, rubbing the back of his head and laying back down on it. "What a weird dream…"
This boy was named Max Taylor, a boy with brown spikey hair who was obsessed with dinosaurs, as his room was decorated with various dinosaur-themed items. He continued reading his dinosaur book that was on his bed. "And so, a giant meteor crashed into Earth causing all dinosaurs to become extinct."
As he was about to turn to the next page something caught his eye outside his window, it was a bright light. "Huh? What's that?" he said to himself. "Could it be a meteor?" Max fell off his bed again and ran to his balcony to get a better view. The bright light kept descending until it crashed into the forest, not far from a laboratory.
Max took a moment to process what he saw, then he ran out of his room to tell his best friend and roommate about it. "Hey! Rex! Wake up!" He opened the door to the bedroom to reveal a blonde short hair boy who was still sleepy.
He began rubbing his eyes and looked in the direction of his friend. "What is it, Max?"
"You have to get up! I think I just saw a meteor!" Rex stopped rubbing his eyes and looked at his friend. "A what?" Max, however, had his mind on something else.
"I have to call Zoe, She has to see this!" He declared and ran off. "Come on, get dressed!" He said and ran off again.
"Meteor huh? This better be good." Rex said to himself before getting dressed.
-Cue intro theme-
Once his friends were awake and dressed, Max led them to the forest where he thinks he saw the meteor land. He was currently wearing a red short-sleeve hoodie with a yellow hood. He also had orange pants, red and white sneakers, and red fingerless gloves on his hands. And to show his love for dinosaurs, he had a black fanny pack around his stomach with a dinosaur tooth on it. His most defining accessory was a red visor on his head with a clear brim and a pair of Triceratops horns that lit up.
Behind him and to his right was his friend and roommate, Rex Owen. He had blonde hair and was wearing a blue jacket over a white T-shirt, tan pants, and blue and white sneakers. He also had a dinosaur accessory like Max, a dinosaur tooth he wore around his neck with his name engraved on the back. It was a very personal item to him because it was the only remnant he has of his birth parents. Rex's adoptive father was a paleontologist who frequently travels the world, so he lives with Max's family so he can have a proper childhood.
"So what did you call me so early for? You know I'm not a morning person." Said a feminine voice after a yawn. This girl was their friend named Zoe Drake. She had pink hair that was styled into messy pigtails. She wore a black T-shirt that exposed her midriff, a yellow vest with red trimmings, shorts that matched the colors of her vest with a leather fanny pack, a pair of black stockings, and green and yellow sneakers. She also had goggles that doubled as cameras, a pair of green wristbands, a dinosaur tooth necklace, and a choker matching the color of her wristbands.
Rex was also tired and yawned. Max showed both his friends a golden badge that was both in the shape of a D and a dinosaur foot. "I contacted both of you because you guys are part of the D-Team, and the D-Team is all about adventure." He declared, reminding them of the little team they formed.
"Yeah, unless that adventure starts before breakfast, also I did a search on the internet and couldn't find any information." Rex replied sounding smug.
Max turned his head and glared at his friend. "You'll change your mind when we find that meteor, and hey, it could be a UFO from outer space." He said, for once in his life something came before food.
"First meteors and now UFOs? Well, I hope we find it soon 'cause I'm hungry." Rex's mind was clearly more focused on food than Max was.
"Yeah, I'm getting hungry too Max." Zoe interjected. "And isn't the D-Team supposed to be a group that studies dinosaurs? UFOs aren't exactly-" She turned her head and noticed something strange. "Huh? Look at that"
The two boys looked in the direction their friend was looking. Some of the trees were knocked down or had their tops missing, except for one that had a hole in the middle.
"That's weird what do you think happened to all those trees?" Rex pondered to himself. The tree with a hole in its middle caught the attention of Max. "Hey! Look at that one, see, I told you this must be where the meteor hit!" Max when up to the hole to see what was inside, and turned on the light on the horns on his visor.
"Be careful Max, it could be dangerous." Zoe cautioned her friend. "Hey, exploring dangerous stuff like this is what D-Team is all about, D for danger." Max replied to Zoe. "Well, I know two words that start with D, dumb and dead." Rex said as he decided to have a look around the area.
Max, when in deeper to get a better look at what was inside the hole "Huh? What is this?" He picked a stone with a lightning bolt symbol engraved into it. "It looks like a stone with a thunderbolt mark on it." He stated.
"I found a stone too, it has a marking for wind." Rex said picking up the stone he found.
"I found one too, with a symbol for grass." Zoe said looking at the stone.
Max looked at the bottom of the stone and something caught his eye. "Hey, I wonder what this is for?" Max began playing with a microchip that seem to be stuck to the rock, and then he began to glow yellow. He was so surprised by this that he hit his head on the tree while trying to pull it out. Rex also began glowing but, it was a light blue color. Zoe also glowed, her color was green and she got a bit frightened by it.
"What was that?" she asked. "I don't know." Max replied, rubbing the back of his head. He looked back at the hole and noticed something else. "Hey! Check this out!"
It looked like a capsule in the shape of an egg, it was cracked open, and inside were two cards. Max grabbed the two cards and took a look at them. One of the cards was grey and the other was a pale orange.
"Isn't this a Triceratops?" Max asked himself as he flipped the grey card to reveal the same lightning symbol that was on the stone he found earlier. "And the card has the same symbol as this stone thing." He said, Rex was surprised by this and looked at his stone.
"Maybe that means you're supposed to put the two together?" Max asked him as he slid the stone upwards on the card. Suddenly, the card began to glow and summoned a real and breathing Triceratops. Its body was yellowish-orange and its frill had a rainbow-like pattern above its horns. The three-horned dinosaur roared as it landed in front of the kids. They all froze in fear before they ran behind some trees.
"It came to life!" Max said.
"It's coming this way!" Rex said as the Triceratops approaches them.
"You did this Max, now put it back!" Zoe angrily pointed at him.
"But I don't know how?" Max said.
"Maybe you could reverse what you did before." Suggested Rex as the Trike got closer.
"That's a great idea!" Said Max as he started fidgeting with the stone.
"AHHHHHH!" Zoe screamed as the Triceratops was getting closer.
"Max run for it!" Rex said as he ran away.
Max looked up for a second and saw the Triceratops was too close for comfort and screamed. However, the stone glowed and the Triceratops turned back into a card and landed on Max's hand. He turned around and the dinosaur was gone.
"Where did it go?" Rex asked. "I'm not sure, but I think it went back into the card." Max said picking up the card.
"No way, How?" Zoe asked. "Maybe it was some sort of hologram." said Rex stepping out from behind the tree he was hiding.
"There's no way! Just look, it wasn't a hologram that knocked over those trees!" Max said pointing at the knocked-over trees. "That dinosaur was real!"
"But how?" Zoe questioned. "Is it because of this?" Zoe and Rex looked at their stones, and when Rex looked back at Max he saw him sliding the stone on the card again. "No, Max! Stop! That can bring it out again!" Rex yelled at his friend.
"That's all right, I can change it back so no problem." Max said as he slid the stone downwards, but instead of the card becoming a full-sized Triceratops, it was a chibi-sized Triceratops with small horns and a tail. Its colors were a bit different than when it was full-sized, its body was now yellow with an orange stripe running down its back. It also had orange trimmings around its frill and white underbelly.
"Huh?" Rex said dumbfounded. "It's so cute!" Said Zoe.
Max walked over to it and kneeled down to its level. "Hey there little guy." The little Trike reached up and bit on Max's nose. "Yow! Why you bite me for?!" He said putting his hand on the dinosaur's face, so it would stop. Once he let go, the chibi Triceratops jumped on top of him licking him like a dog. "Hey, knock it off."
Zoe giggled at the predicament Max was in. "It either likes you or wants to eat you."
"Nah it's a herbivore." Rex said. "Well, I'm not a plant" said Max as the little Trike kept licking "Hey, take it easy." He said as it bit his nose again. "Ow, don't bite me"
"Well, it looks like you got yourself a baby Triceratops Max" Said Rex as it bit down on his wrist. "You mean it's got me!" Max shouted in pain as Zoe giggled.
Meanwhile, somewhere else…
The loud roars of different colored Tyrannosaurus could be heard as they ran in a massive stadium, as a vast crowd of people were cheering. There was also a cackling laugh, up somewhere in the stadium was a throne, and on that throne sat a short old man. This was Dr. Sonoida Zeta, or Dr. Z for short, and he had very little hair on his head except for a few strands that were in the shape of a mohawk. He also had a long white beard, a wine-red shirt, a red tie, a lab coat, brown pants, and red and black shoes.
Behind him, was a banner with a logo on it that vaguely resembled an A, and to his sides were two robots with the same logo on their chest. Below him, were his six subordinates. A green-haired woman, a tall skinny guy with round glasses, a fat chubby man with spikey purple hair, three kids, and a light-blue-haired man with markings on his face.
"This is the final goal of the Alpha Gang, the main stadium of my dinosaur kingdom, and I, Dr. Z will go down as the greatest paleontologist in history!" Dr. Z said enthusiastically.
"Ed, good work." Dr. Z turned to the chubby fat man with spikey purple hair. He wore a T-shirt with the Alpha Gang's logo on it, suspenders, brown pants, and boots. "I'm glad you're happy" Said Ed proudly.
"Now, Hurry and show me the fighting." Dr. Z demanded.
"Huh? I haven't gotten that far…" Said Ed.
"What?" Dr. Z said as he pointed at the computer screen, noticing something was off. "And why are there only Tyrannosaurus in there? I want a lot more than that!"
"That's all I had time to put in the computer." Ed said.
"You're mocking my dreams aren't you?!" Dr. Z said getting up in Ed's face. "You think I can't become the Dinosaur King, don't you?!" Dr. Z declared.
"No, that's not it all…" Ed said disproving Dr. Z's previous statement. "Doctor, I do believe you can become the Dinosaur King."
"That's right! I will rule over every dinosaur, and be the king of kings! I will be the Dinosaur King!" Dr. Z declared. "Well, I heard that you have to be a dinosaur to be king of the dinosaurs, you know." Ed said smugly.
"What was that?" Dr. Z questioned. "Oh, nothing…" Ed responded. Suddenly out of nowhere, a dinosaur smashed through the computer screen completely destroying it. It was a Tyrannosaurus Rex, and it had red coloring on top with a yellow stripe that ended right where its tail began, with a beige coloring on its underside and legs, and green eyes. It looked at Dr. Z and Ed and then roared at them, they both started running from it. The Tyrannosaurus Rex destroyed the rest of the building and gave chase to the two men through the jungle.
Meanwhile, A green-haired woman was lounging by the beach. This was Ursula and she was wearing her swimsuit, which consisted of a white bikini top with the Alpha Gang's logo on the neck string, a pink dress, and brown sandals. Next to her, was a tall skinny man with round glasses fanning her. This was Zander, and he wore a pink Hawaiian-styled shirt with a yellow collar, blue shorts, and red sandals. They were enjoying themselves when they heard yelling.
"Help me!" They turned their heads and saw Dr. Z being chased by a T-Rex. "Somebody! Do something about Terry!" He shouted as he ran for his life.
Three kids arrived on the scene. Two of those kids were Dr. Z's grandkids and the other kid was their friend. Their names are Rod, Laura, and Lexi. Rod wore a brown mechanic jumpsuit a white shirt underneath, an aviator's leather helmet with goggles on top of it, a belt with the Alpha Gang's logo on the buckle, and dark green shoes. His sister, Laura had pink hair and wore a loose-fitting purple cloak with pink cuffs and pink hood, the Alpha Gang's logo on her chest area, and purple and pink shoes. Their best friend, Lexi had long light brown hair and wore a black hairband with her name stitched at the bottom and a pin of the Alpha Gang's logo on top, a deep crimson red jacket with red trimmings, a white shirt underneath, black shorts with red trimmings, a pair black stockings with two red stripes at top of them, and black and red sneakers. Lexi's hairband was very personal to her because it was the only thing she had of a past she can't remember this hairband was all she had. Laura was holding a flat grey device with yellow cone-shaped antennas that had a screen and buttons on each side, and the Alpha Gang's logo on the back. She seems to be using it to control Terry.
"See, I told you he couldn't train Terry, he's got a while to go." Laura said. "Yeah, I see your point, but I think you should shut it off now, I don't think he'll find it funny." Rod said, worried about his grandfather. "Yeah, and I think he'll get hurt." Lexi said
"Help! Terry go away! You don't want to eat me! I mean just look at me I'm all skin and bones!" Dr. Z shouted as he ran around the beach while Terry was chasing him. "What about Ed?! He has plenty to spare! He could feed a family of four! Go for him!" What Dr. Z didn't realize was that Terry began glowing red as he was turned back into a card and summoned in his chibi-size. He rolled on the water biting Dr. Z from behind "Someone help! I'm gonna get eaten!" He yelled as he fell over and chibi-sized Terry jumped on top of him. "Terry!" He said as Terry began biting on his beard and pulling it. "Will you stop it already, Terry! Get off me!" Dr. Z said in annoyance as he flung him off. Terry landed on his feet while his three subordinates laughed behind his back. "Are you laughing behind my back?" Dr. Z asked sternly. The trio stopped laughing and straightened up like soldiers.
"Nothing's funny behind your back." Said Ursula.
Zander couldn't help but let out a little chuckle. "Tell him, Zander." Ed said. "You tell him" Zander replied.
"Tell me what?!" Dr. Z demanded.
"It's Terry, he got your butt." Rod pointed out as he let out a little chuckle of his own. Dr. Z looked behind him to see that Terry had bitten/ripped off part of his lab coat and pants, leaving buttcheeks bare for all to see. "Oh, bad boy Terry!" Dr. Z said pointing at Terry as he snapped at his finger. "Hey now, cough up my seat cover." He said nicely to Terry, but instead, bit on his beard pulling on it. "Hey! Will you stop that!"
"Grandpa, Terry thinks your beard is just another piece of clothing to chew on." Laura giggled. "Wow, he really is badly trained." Lexi said to herself.
"Oh yeah! Well, it's not!" Dr. Z yelled as he tried to get Terry off his beard.
"Stop this at once!" Said a booming voice. "Terry! How many times do I have to tell you not to chase the Doctor around?" Terry let go of Dr. Z's beard and bowed to the woman scolding him and backed away slowly.
This was their maid and cook, Helga. She had a German accent and brown hair tied up in a bun. She wore a white maid outfit with a cooking apron with blue trimmings, a brown pencil skirt, and red shoes. She was very strict with everyone and no one dared talk back to her.
"And Doctor, pull yourself together!" She told Dr. Z. "What happened to your rear?" She pointed at Dr. Z's ripped pants.
"Uh well… sorry, Helga…" Dr. Z mumbly responded. "I'll fix them later so take them off." She then turned her attention to Rod, Laura, and Lexi "As for you, Rod, Laura, and Lexi." They straighten up. "Am I to assume that your studies are complete?" Helga asked the three kids.
"No." They all said.
"Then get inside and finished!" She demanded.
"Okay." They all replied.
She then turned to the trio and glared at them and they shook up. "Breakfast is in 30 minutes. Don't be late." She told them.
"Yes, Helga. 30 minutes." The trio said as they signed when Helga went to go and prepare breakfast.
"What are we acting so nervous for, anyway?" Ursula pointed out. "I don't know." Zander replied.
"You fools! Without Helga, We don't eat!" Dr. Z yelled at them. "And what's with those clothes? This isn't a resort!" Dr. Z said pointing out the beachwear Ursula and Zander had on.
"Well no but…" Ursula tried saying. "The weather's so nice." Zander finished her sentence as he put his hands over his eyes looking at the sky.
"What?!" Dr. Z said, but was interrupted by a light-blue-haired man with reddish markings on his cheeks. This was Seth. He wore a brownish-red overcoat with pinkish trimmings and the Alpha Gang's logo on the right side of his collar, fingerless gloves that were the same color as his trimmings, brown pants, and black boots.
"Good morning, Doctor." He said as Dr. Z turned around covering up his ripped pants. "Oh! Seth. How are the repairs going on the time machine?" Dr. Z asked Seth.
"They're coming along fine, but there aren't enough parts to continue, we must procure them from somewhere else." Seth replied to Dr. Z.
"How can we? We're in a different time period." Rod pointed out.
"Yes, that is a valid point, but more importantly we need to find my dinosaur cards that were scattered all over the world when the time machine broke." Dr. Z said stroking his beard. "Hmm?" Dr. Z noticed that Laura was still holding the device she used to control Terry. "Well, what's this I see, Laura were you using the Alpha Scanner on Terry earlier?" Dr. Z asked his granddaughter.
"Yeah, sorry Grandpa." Larua replied innocently.
"Give that back, this isn't a toy." He said as he takes it back from Laura. "It's a complicated piece of equipment for doctors."
"And Lexi, you best behave yourself or else." Dr. Z said to her sternly
"Yes, Dr. Z, sorry." Lexi said.
The Alpha Scanner started beeping. "The Alpha search signal is reacting." said Rod. "The first one's appear, I knew it would work, now let's go find that card!" Dr. Z said enthusiastically.
Meanwhile, at Max's house…
The D-Team had returned from the forest and were back at Max's house. They were discussing what they discovered with Max's father, Dr. Spike Taylor. He had brown spikey hair just like his son and a beard. He wore a cowboy hat with a grey band around it, a gold shirt with his sleeves rolled up, a brown vest on top of the shirt, brown fingerless gloves, blue jeans, and brown and beige shoes.
"You're saying that's a real Triceratops?" asked Spike as Max placed a band-aid on his nose.
"Yep, Chomp's totally real!" Max said while the small Triceratops was biting a bench when he fell off it
"Did you say 'Chomp'?" Spiked asked.
"That's what Max named him because he chomps on anything he can get his teeth on." Explained Zoe as Chomp began chewing on the porch.
"So, A card becoming a dinosaur…" Spike said to himself while picking up the egg capsule. "And what is this card?" Spike asked as he picked up the pale orange card.
"It came with Chomp's card, I thought you would know." Max replied to his father. "How am I supposed to know?" Spike said to his son.
"Because you're an expert on dinosaurs, Dad." Max said disappointed that his father didn't know what that card did. "True, I am an expert, and I thought I knew just about everything, but this is the first time I heard of little dinosaurs popping out of cards." Spike said.
"Actually, it was a full-sized one." Rex said.
"You're joking?! Where?!" Said Spike looking around frantically for it.
"Now, you have to mess with this stone thing and then Chomp gets big, Here." Said Max handing the stone to his father. "Twist that little knob thing on the side."
"This?" Spike began fidgeting with the knob. "Nothing's happening, you sure that's what did it?" He asked.
"Here, let me see." Max said as he took the stone and twisted the knob. Chomp had turned back into a card. Max then slashed the card downwards summoning a full-sized Triceratops. It roared as it landed in Max's backyard. Everyone but Max cried out in fright. "Max put him back!" Zoe yelled. Max turned Chomp back into a card and returned back to his chibi form. Everyone sighed in relief.
"This is a huge discovery!" Spike said excitedly. "But for now, let's just keep this our little secret." He said to the three kids. "So mom's the word, if news of this gets out it'll create all kinds of chaos for not just us, but everyone." Spike whispered as he put his finger on his mouth, while the D-Team nodded in agreement.
"I could have sworn I heard a loud noise out here, what are you four up to?"
Said Max's mother as they all froze. Her name was Aki. She had brown short hair and wore a red headband, a necklace with a green gem, a long whitish-yellow shirt, a yellow cardigan with her sleeves rolled up, light-blue jeans, and purple slippers.
"Oh, it's nothing dear, it was probably some loud construction nearby." Spike said. "Oh, Well anyways, breakfast is ready." She said.
"Oh hi, Zoe. I didn't know you were here." Aki said noticing Zoe. "Uh, yeah, I just got here." Zoe replied. Aki then noticed Chomp and knelt down in front of him. "Well now, who's this cute little guy?" she asked as her husband picked him up.
"That's… Chomp" Max replied.
"He sure is a unique-looking dog." She said.
"Yeah well, he followed Max home so what do you say, can we keep him?" Spike asked.
"Yes, that should be fine, but you'll be the one taking care of him Max." Aki replied happily as Chomp was biting on Spike's arm causing him to let go.
"I will, Mom." Said Max.
"Okay then, let's eat breakfast before it gets cold, Zoe your welcome to join us, we got plenty." Aki said. "Thank you, Mrs. Taylor." Said Zoe.
"Were keeping it a secret from Mom too?" Max whispered
"Yes, but only for a while, I don't think she'll react well to having a dinosaur living with us." Spike whispered to Max.
Meanwhile, out in the ocean…
Somewhere in the Pacific Ocean was a mysterious island where the Alpha Gang was getting ready for a mission. "The card appeared 1500 miles north from here, somewhere in Japan." Seth said as they all looked at a holographic map with a dot on Japan pointing out the dinosaur's location.
"Excellent! It's time to deploy our first dinosaur roundup mission!" Dr. Z said excitedly. "Alpha Gang, prepare for travel! Take Terry with you, you'll need some dino power to capture that dinosaur… Now, don't let me down!" He said pointing at the trio.
"You can count on us." Ursula said.
"A-Team out!" Said Zander and Ed as they saluted.
Meanwhile, in a laboratory…
On a hilltop, not far from where Max and his friends found their stones and Chomp's card, was a laboratory. This building was called the D-Lab. The front of the building was in the shape of a ceratopsian's head, and outside was a statute of a Plesiosaur and stegosaur-shaped flower patch. Inside were a couple of fossil skeletons of prehistoric animals, and on the main floor was the central computer lab where research was being done on the stones Max and his friends found.
"Accessing data… and awaiting users' input… fossil reclamation currently in progress at station 2098." Said a computerized voice as Dr. Taylor looked at the computer screen at some schematics for some devices he and a blonde woman were working on. This blonde woman was Reese, she was Zoe's older sister. She had on glasses, a green zipped-up swear, a white lab coat, a brown miniskirt, and dark red high heels.
"Any update on the translation device, Reese?" Dr. Taylor asked.
"Nothing yet but hopefully these devices will be able to decode whatever is stored in the chip on the stone." She replied. "But, I have to ask, what makes you think it's the dinosaur's thoughts that are what's stored in the stones? What part of your research brought you to that conclusion?" Reese asked as she was typing on the computer while looking at him.
"I'm glad you asked Reese, I estimated these were created about 66 million years ago, roughly about the same time the dinosaurs became extinct. My analysis shows that they're emitting some kind of consciousness, it would seem that somehow the consciousness of the dinosaurs was compressed into these stones just as they were on the verge of extinction and then embedded with those chips for decoding purposes. I don't know who design it, but the system used to turn dinosaurs into cards lies within that chip!" Dr. Taylor explained. But, Reese was unimpressed and walked away. "She's never impressed." Dr. Taylor sighed
Elsewhere, at sea…
Out in the ocean, a periscope was looking at the coast of Japan. "Destination dead ahead." Ursula said in a submarine with her teammates and chibi-sized Terry. She was now wearing her everyday outfit which consisted of a neck choker with the Alpha Gang's logo, a purplish cape-like cloak with pointed edges at the end held by two gold buttons near her chest, a sleeveless red skin-tight jumpsuit with a diamond shape cut out that revealed her navel, pink gloves that when up to her upper arm and left her fingers bare except for her middle one, and pink high heels.
"Prepare to surface." She notified her team. "Yes ma'am." said both Zander and Ed as Terry walked in front of Ursula. Zander was also wearing his everyday outfit which consisted of a dark brown trenchcoat with the Alpha Gang's logo on the right of his collar, a red shirt underneath, black pants, and black shoes. He still wore his black tinted round glasses.
They surfaced the submarine and were immediately rammed by an oncoming ship.
"I didn't say to surface yet!" Ursula yelled at them.
"We're taking in water!" Ed cried out.
"Help!" Zander shouted.
Meanwhile, at a park, Max and Chomp were playing with a frisbee while Rex and Zoe sat on a bench and watched them play.
"Catch!" Max said as he threw the frisbee in the air and Chomp caught it. "Way to go Chomp!" Max knelt down to pick up the frisbee from Chomp.
"Max is so lucky to have Chomp." Zoe sighed.
"Yeah, and they've really bonded, looks like they're getting to be great friends." Rex said seeing Max continue to play with Chomp.
"You think it's because Max was the one who found him?" Zoe asked.
"Probably, and Chomp's card only works with the stone Max found too… I wonder if our stones can do the same." Rex said.
"I was wondering the same thing." Zoe said.
"Too bad ours didn't come with a matching card." Rex said disappointed.
"Hey, maybe our stones do have a card with a matching symbol, but got lost somehow." Zoe said trying to guess why they didn't have cards. Suddenly, they heard a man worriedly pointing out a large shadow in the water.
"What's that in the water?" He said. "It's coming straight for us."
"What is it?" Said another. "Let's get out of here."
"It's huge." Another person said.
"What's that?" Zoe said.
"It's hard to tell." Rex replied.
The large shadow was swimming closer toward the coast. Max and Chomp arrived to see what the commotion was about.
"Hey, what's going on?" Max asked. "Look, out there." Zoe pointed at the shadow.
Suddenly, the large shadow burst out of the ocean and revealed itself to be Terry in full-sized mode as he flung 3 people off him into a nearby tree as they yelled. He roared and scared everyone and then set his eyes on the kids and Chomp.
"A Tyrannosaurus Rex." Rex exclaimed.
Meanwhile, the Alpha Gang landed in a tree somewhere. They were tangled up in the branches. "Next time Ursula, be more specific with your orders." Said Zander.
"Oh be quiet! It's not my fault that you and Ed are idiots!" Ursula said. "Anyways, where's Terry?" She asked.
"He's right over there." Said Ed pointing at him.
Everyone was running away from the dinosaur that appeared from the ocean, while the D-Team looked at it in shock.
"So, T-Rex really can swim, and was it carrying people?" Zoe asked.
"Awesome!" Max said completely oblivious to what was going on, while Chomp was growling at him.
"How about we ask questions later, guys?" Rex said worriedly. "Run!" He shouted, as they began to run Terry chased after them.
"It's following us!" Zoe said.
"Let's split up." Rex suggested.
"Okay." Max agreed. They ran in opposite directions to try and confuse the T-Rex, but Terry chased Max who was holding Chomp in his hands because of the familiar scent of the Triceratops. Luckily for him, he ran into his dad who had some equipment with him.
"Wow! A real T-Rex!" Spike said amazed.
"Dad…! Is that gun?" Max asked about the rifle Spike was holding.
"Don't worry it's a dart rifle, I borrowed it from Zoe's dad." Spike reassured his son. "Now, watch the expert at work." He said as he ran up to the T-Rex with no fear.
"So, Mister T-Rex nice to meet ya, This is a meeting 66 million years in the making, so now prepare for sweet dreams." Spike said as he took aim and fired a dart at Terry.
Terry looked at the dart on his snout and roared in frustration. Spike was about to shoot another dart when he realized that he only brought one.
"I should have brought more…" Spike trembled as he ducked down and Terry walked over him, heading straight for Max and Chomp. "Max!" He yelled at his son.
"Why do I get the feeling that thing is after me?" Max said as he ran. He headed into a little wooden drink shop, the owner saw him and the dinosaur and ran for their life. Terry walked right up to the building and rammed his head into it, completely destroying it. Max was in shock as he fell to the floor.
"Aah! Get away from us! Just leave us alone! Stop it!" Max yelled at the T-Rex as he tried to run but tripped over. This gave Chomp a chance to escape Max's hold. "No Chomp!" Max cried out. Chomp jumped and bit on Terry's snout. Terry was surprised by this and flung Chomp onto a tree knocking him out on the ground. "Chomp!" Max shouted worriedly. Terry looked at Max for a sec and then looked at where Chomp landed and made his way over there.
"Chomp, run!" Max told his Triceratops, but he didn't move as Terry got closer to him. "Leave him alone!" Max yelled at Terry.
"Max! Here use this!" Spike rummaged through his bag and then tossed something at Max who catches it.
"What the heck is this thing, Dad?" Max asked, looking at the strange device.
"It's a device to make utilizing the functions of the stone easier, Use it to make Chomp bigger. Here, read the manual!" Spike threw a thick book at Max.
"Uhh… I'll just trust you and read it later." Max began pressing buttons on the device.
Terry was right next to Chomp and opened his jaws, but right as he was about to close them shut, Max pressed the right button on his device and turned Chomp back into a card.
"Okay, Here we go!" Max slashed the card on the device's card slot and the screen on it changed into the lightning symbol that was on the stone and the back of Chomp's card. Chomp transformed into his full-sized and faced Terry. This caused the sky to change into a purplish-orange color.
"What's happening?" asked Zoe.
"It looks like some sort of battlefield." Max's father replied
"What?" Rex said.
Meanwhile, back at a nearby tree. "Whoa! Ugh!" Said the Alpha Trio as they fell from the tree they were stuck in. "Finally, we're out of that tree." Zander said. They heard the familiar roar of their T-Rex coming from somewhere.
"Huh? Terry?" Ursula said looking around.
"It's coming from over there." Ed said pointing in the direction the roar was coming from.
"Let's go." Said Ursula.
Terry was cautiously circling Chomp looking for an opening to attack. Chomp then charged at Terry ramming him into traffic. Cars swerved out of the way or stopped causing some to crash. Terry and Chomp bashed heads together with Terry coming out on top, pushing Chomp back.
"There he is!" Ed said as the Alpha Gang showed up at the scene.
"It's a Triceratops!" Zander said.
"Yeah, and Terry seems to be winning!" Ed said excitedly.
"Yeah! Let's hope that Triceratops doesn't have a move card, or that can mean big trouble for us." Zander commented.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Ursula said. "Don't tell me you didn't bring a move card?!" She said to them.
"We don't have any, remember?" Ed said.
"Yeah Ursula, they were scattered along with the dinosaur cards when the time machine broke." Zander said.
"Oh." Ursula said disappointedly.
Terry roared as he bit down on Chomp's horn and threw him down again, causing him to land on his side. Terry looked at Chomp like he's seen this Triceratops before.
"Chomp!" Max cried out seeing that Chomp was losing the fight.
"It's no use, in a fight between these two, T-Rex is most likely to win." Rex said.
"So, what now?" Zoe said worriedly. The device Max was holding began beeping. The screen with Chomp's card started flashing red, indicating that Chomp's energy was low.
Terry repeatedly stomped on Chomp's belly as he didn't want to kill him but return him back into a card. With each stomp, Chomp let out a cry in pain. However, Terry would soon start to feel the effects of the dart Spike shot at him earlier as he started to feel drowsy.
Another beeping noise could be heard, this time it was from the Alpha Gang. Ursula pulled out her Alpha Scanner and saw the screen was flashing red. "Uhh… Why is Terry low on energy? You guys did feed him before we left, right?" Asked Ursula.
"Yeah, I did." Zander replied.
"Then why is Terry losing energy?!" Ursula demanded.
"I… I… don't know." Zander said trying to find an answer but couldn't.
"Hey, what's this?" said Ed as he picked up a dart. "Let me see that." Ursula said as she grabbed the dart out of Ed's hand. "That's a tranquilizer dart." She said.
"Well, there's your answer someone must've shot Terry with this dart, which is why he's losing energy." Zander explained. "Who is stupid enough to shoot a dinosaur with only one dart?" Ursula commented.
Back at the battle, Max watched as his Triceratops was losing the battle. "There has to be something I can do!" Max said pressing buttons on his device. When the other pale orange card popped out of the top of it.
"I'm not sure what that card does, but I included it just in case. Now would seem like a good time to try it out." Spike suggested to Max. "Okay, here goes nothing." Max swiped the card on the device.
Suddenly, Chomp began to glow yellow, causing Terry to back away. The sky turned dark with lightning crackling and then a lightning bolt struck Chomp. It charged him with electricity as he roared at Terry. The kids were in awe at what they were seeing. Terry's vision was blurry from not just the light but also his tiredness, he roared back at the Trike. Chomp ran and rammed into Terry with a ball of electricity causing him to go flying over some treetops. He grunted in pain as he tried to lift his head and get back up but couldn't and turned back into a card. The sky went back to normal and Chomp collapsed and reverted back into a card.
"I gotcha!" Max said catching Chomp's as it fell into his hands.
"Is he okay?" Zoe said worriedly.
"Try a swipe." Rex suggested.
Max swiped the card on his device and Chomp returned back as chibi form. "Oh, Chomp are you alright?" Max asked as rushed to his dinosaur picking him up while Chomp nibbled on his nose. "Oh, ouch!" Didn't hurt that much, but Max was relieved.
"He's okay." Zoe said happily, knowing that Chomp was fine.
"It looks like the Tyrannosaurus Rex turned back into a card too." Rex said looking over where the dinosaur was defeated. Ursula when over and picked up Terry's card and turn to the D-Team.
"Who do you brats think you are screwing up our very important mission?!" Ursula said to them angrily.
"My name's Max. Wait, aren't you the 3 people who were on the T-rex when it came out of the ocean? Who are you?" Max asked.
"We are…" Ursula started. "...so fearful we can silence the crying of children…" Zander continued. "...the greatest organization, the Alpha Gang!" Ed ended.
"Oh, so Ursula!" Ursula introduced herself.
"Zantastic Zander!" Said Zander.
"Ed, I said!" Said Ed.
"Silence children crying?" Zoe said puzzled.
"Greatest organization?" Rex asked.
"The Alpha Gang?" Max said. "But, nobody is crying, and what do you guys want with us?" Max asked.
"Well, That's for us to know and for you to find out, isn't it? But if you interfere with our work again we will make you cry! Let's go!" Ursula said as she ran. "Right!" Zander and Ed said running after her, leaving the D-Team confused.
"Wow, she was weird." Max said.
"The old lady?" Zoe added.
"Excuse me!" Ursula said as she came back after hearing the pink-haired girl calling her old. "Did I hear you call me an 'old lady'?! I'm not old, I'm eighteen!" Ursula began ranting, before Zander and Ed showed up and dragged her away. "Come on, shake it off." Zander said trying to calm her down. "Did she say 'eighteen'?" Ed said knowing that was a lie. "Nineteen!" Ursula shouted leaving the scene.
Max turned to his dad and friends. "Hey, Dad what is this?" asked Max.
"A Dino Holder." Spike replied. "So, it's like the stone?" Max said opening a red panel on the device and revealing the lightning stone inside.
"I bet it does more than that." Rex said.
"Yep, It's also a translator. It takes the thoughts of the dinosaurs and puts them into words." Spike explained.
"So, they'll be able to talk to us?" Max said.
"That's right and I have ones for Rex and Zoe." Spike said looking in his bag and handing them their Dino Holders. As soon they took hold of them the kids began glowing and Spike had to step back. "Please… Help… Us…" Various voices began talking as the kids looked at their Dino Holders. "Help… Us…"

Sorry that took so long, I've been busy playing Tears of the Kingdom. But, I finally finished chapter 1. Since this is a reboot, I add some extra scenes and alter some scenes and dialogue. Some of the lines are from the English sub of the anime. Only episodes 1 and 2 are subbed, and you can find them on Youtube. One more thing, I originally only planned to retell this story with the canon DK characters only, no OCs. But, then got this idea to add another member to the Alpha Gang. This character would be a background for most of the story. Mainly hanging out with Rod and Laura. They aren't going to play a big role until towards the end of the story like in the original. Let me know if that sounds interesting to you guys and might add them to this chapter and future chapters. Anyways, thanks for reading see you next time.
Update: After some thinking, I decided to add the character I was talking about and named her Lexi Zeta. Oh yeah, side note, all the Alpha Gang characters except for Seth and Helga, have the last name of "Zeta" because that's what I believe Dr. Z's last name to be.
