It was a dark and stormy day in the Amazon rainforest as the rain poured from the sky and lightning cracked from the clouds. A lizard was resting on a tree and was being showered by the rain. Near the lizard was a cliff and on its edge was an egg capsule. Due to the rain, the capsule fell off the cliff's edge and into a river below. It floated down the stream until it hit some rocks cracking it. Inside was a grey and pale orange card and they both had a water symbol on the back. As soon as the rain and water touched the cards, they began glowing blue. The glow scared the lizard as it hid behind the branch it was on and poked its head out to see what was happening. When the glow stopped there stood a sauropod dinosaur as it bellowed lowly with lightning striking in the background. The lizard hissed at the dinosaur and stuck its tongue out.
-Cue intro theme-
On a mysterious island, Dr. Z was looking at the world map with a dot on South America, specifically the Amazon rainforest. "A dinosaur!" Dr. Z shouted. "The Alpha Search Signal has detected a dinosaur, so let's get a move on!" He told the trio who were busy playing a game of chess.
"Yeah give us a minute," Ursula said. "So, I guess it's my move right?"
"Yes, it still is," Zander replied stroking his hair. "I thought you said chess is a game of quick decisions."
"Yes, but I meant for you, not for me. What am I supposed to do when all your men are surrounding my beautiful queen?" Ursula said looking down at the white queen piece that sort of resembled her. It was surrounded by Zander's black pieces.
"Don't worry, 'cause no matter what you do, you're gonna lose anyway." Ed snickered while he was eating a snack.
"And, who asked you?!" Ursula retorted, snatching his snack.
"Hello?! Am I talking to myself here?! I need you three to go out on a mission now!" Dr. Z shouted at the trio.
"Right away, sir! Your fearless team stands before you ready for duty!" Ursula said to Dr. Z saluting at him. She then kicks the table causing all the chess pieces to fall. "There, I made my move." She said. The only piece standing was her white queen.
"How'd she do it?" Ed said astonished.
"Incredible," Zander said.
"Well, look at that, I won!" Ursula said with glee.
"Alright, team let's go get that dinosaur!" Ursula said as the trio ran off. "Wait!" Dr. Z shouted as the trio stopped in their tracks. "Follow me." He said. "Uhh… okay," Ursula said confused.
Dr. Z led the trio to where they kept their aircraft and other vehicles. "You won't be able to take any of our jets because they are out of fuel and we need to get some." Dr. Z explained. "So, in the meantime, you'll be using this," Dr. Z took off a large tarp of some large object. It was revealed to be a giant blimp with four rowing paddles on the balloon part of the blimp, and two paddles on the basket.
"Is that a hot air balloon?" Ed ask.
"No, it's not you nitwit!" Dr. Z replied. "This vehicle uses the paddles to make it move, requiring no fuel." He said as he laughed. "Now, go and bring me that dinosaur card!"
"You can count on us!" The trio said.
At Max's house…
Max ran downstairs and hid in a closet below the stairs as Rex and Zoe entered his home. "Uh… Hey Max, what are you doing in the closet?" Rex asked. Max poked his head out of the closet. "Shh! Quiet, I'm testing Chomp's sense of smell." Max said.
"How come?" Rex asked.
"Cause it's fun, I'm trying to see if he has a good enough nose to find me," Max replied, chuckling a bit. "Quiet, here he comes." He said closing the closet door.
Chomp jumped from the stairs and started sniffing the ground. "What's up Chomp, are you looking for something?" Rex asked Chomp. Chomp ran to the closet and sniffed the bottom of it. He began scratching the door as Max opened it.
"Hey, way to go! You found me, Good job!" Max said as he went in to hug Chomp, but he jumped out of the way and grabbed a bag of dog food. "Wait, you smelled dog food?" Max said.
"Good nose, at least he'll never go hungry," Rex commented.
"That's right, looks like you're smell test was a success," Zoe said.
"Yeah, he'll always be able to find me, as long as I smell like dog food," Max said disappointed as he tried shaking Chomp off the bag. He then started smelling something good. "Speaking of smells," Max ran to the kitchen. "Hamburgers! My favorite meal of all time! Your hamburgers are the best, Mom! Don't mind if I do." Max said as he was about to take one but Aki snatched the plate before he could.
"Nice try, you know you have to wait until dinnertime." She said.
"Just one please Mom, please," Max begged his mother.
"You'll have to wait for everyone else," Aki told her son.
"I'll take it to my room and eat it," Max said.
"No, Max," Aki said.
"Wow, when it comes to food Max and Chomp are just alike," Zoe commented.
"Yeah," Rex said
Suddenly, the kids' Dino Holders began beeping. This caught the attention of Max.
At the D-Lab…
The D-Team soon arrived at the D-Lab. "The signal was coming from the jungles of the Amazon," Reese said typing away at the computer.
"Ah, the Amazon, the world's largest rainforest home to countless exotic plants and animals." Dr. Taylor said. "What I wouldn't give to be able to come along." He said holding a bunch of supplies.
"You say that every time, Dad, but you can't," Max said.
"Leave everything to us, Dr. Taylor," Rex said.
"Well alright then. Now listen, take this for insect bites, use this in case of stomach ache, use this one for snake bites, this is to keep piranhas away, and this one is in case of bad breath." Dr. Taylor said giving a bunch of supplies to Max.
"Uh, thanks, Dad," Max said.
"We better get going Max or the Alpha Gang is gonna get there before us," Zoe said.
"Yeah, good point. Okay, gotta go Dad." Max said.
"You kids be careful now." Dr. Taylor said backing away from the teleporter as the kids disappeared, but the supplies Dr. Taylor gave Max stayed behind.
"Ah! All of the treatments didn't transport, maybe I'd go w-" Dr. Taylor said, but was interrupted by Reese. "They're fine. Chomp and the others will protect them." She said.
"Not from bad breath." Dr. Taylor said disappointed.
At the Amazon Rainforest…
The D-Team landed in the middle of the misty jungles of the Amazon. "Now, which way to the dinosaur?" Max asked as Chomp wandered off into the jungle without anyone noticing.
"Well, the transporter puts us in the general area, but it doesn't tell us which way," Rex said.
"Hear anything Paris?" Zoe asked her dinosaur but shook her head in response.
"Remember, this could be a dangerous jungle so be careful everyOOOONNAAAHHHH!" Max yelled as he slid down a cliff into a puddle of water.
"You alright?!" Rex asked
"Yeah, see what I mean," Max responded.
"Need some help?" Zoe asked as she and Rex slid down the cliff to help their friend.
"It could have been worse at least you didn't land in quicksand," Rex said optimistically.
"That cliff should have a warning sign on it," Max said. "Hey, where's Chomp?" He said looking around.
"Huh?" Rex said.
"That's weird, I know he was with us when we transported in," Zoe said.
"Chomp! Are you out there?! Can you hear me?!" Max called out to his dinosaur.
Chomp continued wandering the jungle alone when he spotted and followed a butterfly.
The D-Kids walked alongside a river in search of Chomp. "We're never gonna find him in this place. Poor Chomp." Max complained.
"You know what Max, Maybe Chomp is still playing hide-n-seek," Rex said.
"Playing wha- Oh!" Max remembered when he hid from Chomp in the closet at home.
"That's right, he probably thinks it's your turn to find him now," Zoe said.
"This isn't a good place for him to be running around alone," Rex stated.
"I know! You think I don't know that! You gotta help me find him!" Max exclaimed. "Come on!" He said running off with his friends following behind.
"Chomp!" Yelled the 3 kids.
"How am I ever going to find chomp in the Amazon?" Max said. "Wait, the Dino Holder should be able to locate him." He pressed buttons on his Dino Holder but it wouldn't turn on. "It's dead. It must have gotten wet." He groaned. "Chomp! Where are you?! Come on! Chomp, come out now!" He shouted as he continued wandering through the jungle.
Rex and Zoe met back at the river. "Any luck?" Rex asked.
"No," Zoe replied. "Hey, Rex where'd Max go?"
Wha? What do you mean? I thought he was with you." Rex said.
"No." Zoe sighed.
"Where are you, Max?!" Rex shouted.
"Can you hear us?! Say something?! Max!" Zoe shouted.
"Great, now we lost them both. This trip is a disaster." Rex stated.
"Let's make sure Paris and Ace don't get lost in this jungle," Zoe suggested.
"Good let's keep them in their cards," Rex said as Zoe nodded. Ace and Paris were then turned back into cards and Rex and Zoe placed them inside their Dino Holder. They then heard a loud noise coming from the jungle.
"Let's go!" Rex said as he and Zoe ran in the direction of the noise.
Meanwhile, above the jungle in the sky, the Alpha Gang was paddling their giant blimp. Well, it mainly was Zander and Ed doing the paddling with Ursula barking orders at them. "Stroke, stroke, and stroke! Come on you two, at this rate that dinosaur really will be extinct before we find it!" She ordered Zander and Ed with a megaphone. "Pull that oar and let's go, guys! I'm helping the best I can!"
"Uh, maybe you can help a little less?" Ed said getting tired of rowing.
"Ah! One spikey-backed Saltasaurus straight ahead!" Zander said spotting the dinosaur.
"Really?" Ursula said as she too spotted Saltasaurus walking through the jungle. "My, my, that's a good one too. Luckily, I found him. Hmmm… Why haven't we landed yet? Get this gas bag on the ground!" She ordered.
"Right." Both Zander and Ed said.
"Hey, sounds like she wants us to land in a hurry," Ed said smugly.
"We better give the admiral what she wants," Zander said.
"Yep, here goes…" They both snickered as they let go of the oars.
"Uh-oh," Ursula said as the blimp rapidly began falling to the ground. "Are you two insane?!" She shouted at them.
"This went better in our heads!" Ed yelled as they crashed down to the ground.
Meanwhile, Rex and Zoe ran in the direction of where they heard that loud noise when they spotted the dinosaur. "There it is. It's a Saltasaurus." Rex said.
"You're right, I can tell because it has all those bony plates on its back," Zoe said.
"Yeah, lucky for us it's another herbivore and not a carnivore," Rex said as Saltasaurus turned around and headed in their direction.
"No kidding," Zoe said.
"Okay, Ace time to go to work," Rex said pulling his Dino Holder out.
"Uh-oh!" Zoe said.
"What?" He said. He then noticed Saltasaurus approaching them. "Run for it!" Rex said.
Saltasaurus trampled over a tree as it continued walking in the same direction. Suddenly, a blue light appeared in front of it. It was revealed to be Spiny in full size. The sky changed to an orangish-purple color.
Somewhere else in the jungle, Max was still searching for Chomp when he noticed the change in the sky color. "What was that?" He said.
Back at the beginning battle, Rex and Zoe ran to the battle site to get a view of what was going on. "Haven't we seen that Spinosaurus before? Oh, I remember." Rex said remembering the owners of that dinosaur.
Not far from where they both were, the Alpha Trio was standing next to their crashed blimp and Spiny. Ursula began laughing. "I hope you didn't forget about us, need me to jog your memory? It's Ursula, Zander and Ed, hi." She said.
"The old lady again," Zoe said disappointingly.
"Grrr! Would you stop calling me old?! I'm not old!" She yelled as Zander and Ed were trying to hold her back.
"She said 'bold lady' not old!" Ed said.
"Right! Bold, strong, brave." Zander said.
"Oh, alright then, get in there Spiny, and tear them all to pieces!" Ursula ordered.
Spiny roared at Saltasaurus getting ready to attack it. Saltasaurus bellowed back at Spiny and got into a defensive stance. Spiny then lunged at Saltasaurus his claws and mouth ready to tear the dinosaur apart. However, Saltasaurus lowered its neck and bared its back at Spiny. When Spiny made contact with the dinosaur's back he couldn't bite or scratch its bony armor. Saltasaurus then got up on its hind legs for a bit and knocked Spiny away. Spiny growled at the sauropod and the Saltasaurus stomped its foot down telling him to back off.
"Go! Hit him again!" The Alpha Trio cheered.
"I don't think we should put Paris and Ace out there," Rex commented.
"What? Why?" Zoe questioned.
"If Spiny is having trouble with that dinosaur Ace and Paris won't fair much either. Max and Chomp would probably have a better chance at fighting it." Rex explained.
"Great, what a lousy time for Max to disappear," Zoe said annoyed.
Elsewhere in the jungle Max was still lost and searching for Chomp. "I can't find Chomp, I can't find the new dinosaur, I can't even find me in this jungle without my Dino Holder." He said complaining while he pressed buttons on his Dino Holder trying to get it to turn on. "Why won't this dumb thing power up? Come on!" He said frustrated. "Oh, it's hopeless, oh man." He moped as he sat down on a log with a stomach growling. "And now I'm starving, I wish I had a couple of those hamburgers. Chomp is probably hungry too, wherever he is." Max said to himself. "Hey, Chomp!"
Meanwhile, Chomp was still wandering the jungle aimlessly. He stopped for a second to look at the trees. However, unbeknownst to Chomp, he was being stalked. Suddenly, a caiman lunged out of the river but missed Chomp. He backflipped and landed on his feet. Chomp growled at the caiman before it began running towards him.
Back at the battle with Spiny and Saltasaurus, a flock of birds was flying away as Spiny and Saltasaurus stared each other down before Spiny began charging toward the Sauropod. Spiny grabbed the neck of Saltasaurus and bit down it. He also used his claws to try to inflict more damage on the dinosaur. However, Saltasaurus got up on its hind legs and then slammed down on the ground causing Spiny to lose his grip and be knocked back. Spiny then tried to get back up. However, Saltasaurus charged at Spiny ramming him with tremendous force.
"Wow! Incredible!" Rex said amazed by what he just saw.
"It looks like Saltasaurus is gonna win!" Zoe said.
"Ursula, this is not going well, maybe we should throw in the towel," Zander said unamused.
"That dinosaur is kicking Spiny's butt," Ed said.
"Thank you, both for your confidence," Ursula said, sarcastically. "I have another trick up my sleeve, did you forget the special card Dr. Z gave us?" She said holding a move card.
"Oh yeah, the move card," Zander said.
"But you don't have sleeves," Ed said.
"It's just an expression, you idiots! Now quit wasting time, swipe that card, and let's swipe that dinosaur." Ursula yelled at them as she tossed the card at Zander.
Zander then slashed the card on his Alpha Scanner. "Go Spinosaurus! Tail Smash!"
Spiny glowed for a bit and roared. He then smacked Saltasaurus in the face with his tail."Ah! Saltasaurus move out!" Zoe shouted at the dinosaur. Spiny smacked Saltasaurus with his tail two times, with a powerful last one causing the Sauropod to be knocked to the ground.
"NO! Come on, get up!" Rex shouted.
"This battle is over. All right now, Spiny finish it with one last shot. Go on!" Ursula said.
"You can do it," Zander said. Spiny looked down at Saltasaurus and growled at it.
Meanwhile, Chomp still had to deal with the caiman that ambushed him. They both stared at each other before it lunged at Chomp. However, Chomp jumped over the caiman's attack and attempted to grab its tail, but was flung into a tree. The caiman walked toward Chomp, but he then jumped over it again and ran away as the caiman just watched choosing not to pursue him.
Back at the battle scene, Saltasaurus was still downed on the ground as Spiny got closer to finish it off. He lunged at it but was smacked in the face by its tail, knocking him back a bit. Saltasaurus then got back up and began to glow blue. Then, a giant sphere of water formed around Saltasaurus' head as it shot it out at Spiny. He was lifted off the ground, trapped inside it, and beginning to drown. Saltasaurus charged forward and jumped into the air ramming itself against Spiny in the water sphere, causing Spiny to be sent flying and hitting the ground hard. Spiny got back up on his feet and was panting. He growled at Saltasaurus before he collapsed from exhaustion and turned back into a card.
"Wow! It looks like Spiny turned back into a card." Rex said.
"Yeah, that move must have done a number on him," Zoe said. "Hey, Saltasaurus is leaving." She pointed out.
"Oh no, let's go after it," Rex said.
"Right," Zoe said as she and Rex chased after it.
The A-Team went over to pick up Spiny's card. "What the heck was that move, Zander?" Ursula asked.
"It used Tragedy of the Sphere," Zander replied.
"I can't believe we lost when we were so close to catching it!" Ursula complained.
She then looked at Zander and Ed. "Well, don't just stand there go after that dinosaur!" She ordered.
"Yes ma'am!" They both saluted her.
"Those brats haven't seen the last of me," Ursula swore.
Meanwhile, Max has still yet to find Chomp. "Chomp, where are you?! Answer me, Chomp!" Max shouted as he walked down a river with his Dino Holder tied to the horns of his visor with some vines. He was also using a leaf as a fan to cool himself down. "I feel like I've been looking for hours. I wonder if he's out looking for me too." He then stopped for a moment. "What if I never see him again," Max said worriedly.
Suddenly, Max heard rustling from a nearby bush. "Hmm… is that you, Chomp?" He said checking the bush. "I've been looking all over for you! Come on out- uh." A lizard was what he found. "Ugh! Never mind, it's just a lizard." Max then heard loud footsteps approaching him. "Hey?" He said looking around when he saw Saltasaurus' head poking through. He then got up and ran.
"AHHHH! Why are you chasing me?! You eat plants and I'm a boy made of meat!" Max shouted as he ran from the dinosaur
Not too far away, Rex and Zoe spotted Saltasaurus chasing something. "Where do you think it's going?" Rex asked.
"I don't know, but it looks like it's chasing something," Zoe said
"Help me! Someone?!" Shouted Max.
"Is that Max?" Zoe asked spotting her friend
"Hey, Max!" Rex shouted.
"Huh? Oh, hi." Max waved at his friends as he ran.
"We need to get across this stream somehow," Rex said.
"That's not the only problem," Zoe said. Not too far from where Rex and Zoe, the Alpha Trio were on a boat rowing down the stream.
"Row faster! It's a good thing this boat was in that blimp's storage compartment." Ursula said spotting Rex and Zoe. "Oh look it's those kids again. Why so glum? Up a creek without a paddle, HAA!" She taunted them.
Suddenly, a shadow appeared above Ursula and her team as Rex and Zoe jumped onto the row boat. "Grab the oars, Zoe!" Rex said as he grabbed Ed's head. "Hey, let go of my head!" Ed said.
"Why don't you both go jump in the river?!" Ursula yelled at them as she grabbed Rex's jacket and tried throwing him off the boat. "Technically, this would be called a stream." Zander corrected her as both Rex and Zoe rowed the boat to the other side of the stream.
"You can have your boat back now. Thanks for the ride." Zoe said.
"See ya," Rex said.
"Why me? I try to be a good villain, they always set me up for a fall," Ursula complained.
"A fall! A fall! A fall!" Ed repeated panicking.
"Yes, I just said that… Huh?" She looked forward.
"No, I mean a waterfall!" Ed yelled in fear.
"Why are you two just sitting there?! Jump!" Ursula ordered as the trio jumped onto land while their boat went over the waterfall.
"Well, there goes our boat," Zander said.
"What now?" Ed asked.
"We follow those kids to that Saltasaurus. They'll most likely battle it and when they weaken it, we send in Terry and finish it, swiping the cards for ourselves." Ursula explained.
"Good plan, but…" Zander began saying before he was interrupted by Ursula.
"But what, don't tell me you forgot Terry?" She asked.
"No, we have Terry. It's just remember…" Zander replied.
"Terry's a fire dinosaur. He won't do so well against a water dinosaur." Ed added.
"Oh. Well, we'll just use Tank. Let's go." Ursula said as she ran in the direction Rex and Zoe went.
"Right." Zander and Ed said following right behind her.
Meanwhile, Max was panting and had reached the edge of a cliff from being chased by Saltasaurus. "There's no place left to run." He said. Saltasaurus was approaching from the jungle and Max turned around to face the sauropod. "Oh no." He worriedly said. The lizard that Max found had followed him and hissed at the dinosaur. Curious, Saltasaurus let out a loud bellow.
Not far away, Chomp heard the bellow of Saltasaurus and was looking around trying to figure out where the sound was coming from. However, another caiman showed up ready to lunge at him.
Saltasaurus got closer to Max and the lizard as Rex and Zoe showed up. "Oh no!" They both said. Saltasaurus continued to look at Max and the lizard with curiosity, making low bellow noises. "HEY CHOMP!" Max yelled as loud as he could for his dinosaur.
Chomp stood his ground against the caiman. It then charged forward and Chomp did the same thing, but instead of jumping over the caiman like last time, Chomp went under it and launched him in the air and back into the river. He then ran in the direction he heard Max.
Saltasaurus continued looking at Max while Rex and Zoe tried to figure out what to do. "We gotta help him, Zoe," Rex said.
"Right, let's call out our dinosaurs," Zoe said.
Suddenly, Chomp jumped out of a bush and ran to Max showing up just in time.
"Huh?" Rex and Zoe said.
"Chomp! It's you!" Max said happy to see his dinosaur again. "All right now, this better work," Max said grabbing his Dino Holder from his head and began to press a button hoping the device would turn on. "Yes!" He said as his Dino Holder finally turned on and turned Chomp into a card. "Ready to go, Chomp?" Max slashed the card. "Dino Slash! Go Triceratops!" Chomp was summoned in his full size ready to face off against Saltasaurus
Chomp charged forward toward Saltasaurus. He makes contact with the Sauropod, but Saltasaurus turns to its side so that the impact would be absorbed by its bony armor. They both backed up a bit and charged again with the same results happening again. Saltasaurus would bite down on Chomp's frill trying to push him back.
"Hang in there, Chomp!" Max shouted.
Meanwhile, the Alpha Trio would arrive at the battle scene. "There they are," Ed said.
"That brat summoned his Triceratops, Grrr! This is going to make things more difficult." Ursula said annoyed.
"You're right, if he uses Electric Charge, he will defeat that Saltasaurus and get the card," Zander said.
"So, what do we do?" Ed asked.
"Simple, Ed you'll use Tank right before that kid uses his move card and finish off that Saltasaurus," Ursula explained.
"I like the sound of that plan. Let's wait for our opportunity to strike," Zander said as the trio hid behind some bushes and watched the battle.
Meanwhile, back at the battle, Chomp broke free from Saltasaurus' bite and attacked, but his horns only grazed the Sauropod's bony plates, causing sparks to fly. However, it didn't do damage to Saltasaurus.
"Whoa, it'll be hard for Chomp to get through those plates," Rex commented.
"Watch out! It's coming from behind!" Zoe shouted.
Saltasaurus used its tail to trip Chomp pushing him back and knocking him to the ground. Chomp groans in pain as he lays on the ground. Saltasaurus began to glow blue again as it got ready to use its move again. "Uh oh, it's using that move again!" Rex shouted. A water sphere formed around Saltasaurus' head. He shot it toward Chomp trapping him in it and drowning him as it floated in the air. Saltasaurus ran towards the floating water sphere and jumped into the air, ramming into Chomp and knocking him to the ground.
Chomp groaned in pain but still had some fight in him. "Come on, Chomp! Don't let him beat you, get up!" Max shouted at his Triceratops. Max then remembered something. "I better use my move card now," he pushed a button on his Dino Holder and out popped the move card. "Now! Electric-", but before Max slashed the card he was interrupted by somebody shouting something.
"Now Ed!" Ursula shouted.
"Go Saichania! Finish the job!" Ed said slashing Tank's card on his Alpha Scanner. Tank was summoned in her full size with a small ball floating around her head.
"It's that Saichania from the museum! Where did he come from?" Rex asked and his question would soon be answered when he heard laughter.
"Hahaha! Did you miss us? I'm sure you did. Oh and for the record, 'he' is actually a 'she'." Ursula said pointing at Tank.
"It's the old lady again," Zoe said annoyed.
"GRRRR! Listen you! When I get my hands on you, I'll show just how young I really am!" Ursula angrily shouted as Ed and Zander were holding her back.
"Ursula, stick to the plan," Zander said.
"Yeah," Ed said.
"Grrr! Would you 3 clowns get lost already!" Max shouted at them.
"Huh! Not a chance, that dinosaur is ours!" Zander said.
"Go Tank! Capture that Saltasaurus!" Ed ordered.
Tank bellowed loudly as she charged toward Saltasaurus and rammed into its side pushing it back. "Chomp! Go help Saltasaurus!" Max shouted. Chomp got up and made his way to Saltasaurus, but Saltasaurus decided that it wanted revenge, and tail-smacked Tank sending her back into some trees. Chomp couldn't stop his momentum and rammed into Saltasaurus knocking it in the direction Tank was. "Oh no!" Max said.
"This is taking forever. Ed, use a move card already!" Ursula said.
"Okay," Ed said as he pulled a move card out of his Alpha Scanner. "Tail Smash!" He slashed the card on the device.
Tank glowed for a bit and slammed her tail on Saltasaurus' sides two times, with a powerful third hit sending the dinosaur flying through some trees. Exhausted from fighting 3 dinosaurs in one day, Saltasaurus gave up and turned back into a card.
"Yes! Zander, go and get that card!" Ursula said.
"You got it," Zander said running after Saltasaurus' card.
"Chomp go and stop him!" Max told Chomp. But before he could do that, Tank got in the way and blocked him.
"Good job, Tank," Zander said picking up Saltasaurus' card.
"No! They got the card!" Rex said.
"Hahaha! That's one card for us and zero for you." Ursula taunted the D-Kids. "And as a bonus, we'll be taking your Triceratops too. You know what to do Tank!" Tank bellowed and charged toward Chomp.
"Oh no you don't! Go Electric Charge!" Max slashed his move card on his Dino Holder. Chomp was struck by a bolt of lightning charging his body with electricity and then charged toward Tank, ramming into her with a ball of electricity sending her flying. Tank landed in a nearby stream and was spazzing out from the attack. She then got back up having survived Chomp's attack.
"What? She didn't turn back into a card…" Max said surprised.
"No way, she's still standing after that?" Rex said.
"That attack didn't seem to do much damage to her too," Zoe added.
Chomp was getting exhausted and panting. Max's Dino Holder began beeping red indicating that his dinosaur was low on energy. "Whatever, let's try that again Chomp. Go, Electric Charge!" Max slashed his move card on his Dino Holder, but nothing happened. He then noticed that his move card had lost all its color and was greyscale. "What? What happened to my move card?" Max asked.
The Alpha Trio began laughing. "Didn't you know this? All move cards have a certain cooldown." Zander explained.
"Yeah, super moves have the longest cooldown, while normal moves have a shorter cooldown," Ed said before getting hit in the head by Ursula. "Is there anything else you want to tell the enemy, Ed?" Ursula said.
"Sorry." He apologized.
"Oh no!" Rex said.
Tank loudly bellowed at Chomp and swang her clubbed tail at his face knocking him down. Chomp couldn't fight anymore and turned back into a card. "No! Chomp!" Max shouted as he ran to pick up his card.
"Yes! That's another card for us!" Ursula said as she ran after Chomp's card.
"He's not fast enough to make it!" Zoe said worriedly.
"He may not be fast enough, but Ace is," Rex said pulling out Ace's card. "Dino Slash! Carnotaurus, blow them away!" Rex slashed the card on his Dino Holder summoning Ace in his full size. "Ace, go and get Chomp's card!" Rex said.
Ace went straight for the card and Tank ran toward him to try and stop him. However, he dodged the attack that Tank was going to do and got in front of Ursula's way blocking her from getting the card, and snarled at her. "Th…that's a good dinosaur no need to get violent…" She said nervously. Max finally managed to make it to where Chomp's card was and pick it up. "Yes! Thanks, Rex, and thank you, Ace." Max said.
"It was no problem. Now, it's time to finish this," Rex said pressing a button on his Dino Holder, and out popped a move card. "Cyclone!" Rex slashed the card and a cyclone came crashing down, enveloping Ace in wind. Ace ran to where Tank was, grabbed her by the tail and began swinging her round and round. She was thrown where the A-Team was as they began screaming and got out of the way. Tank landed on the ground hard and turned back into a card.
"Way to go, Ace!" Rex congratulated. Ace roared in victory.
Ed went over to pick up Tank's card. "Should we summon Terry?" He asked.
"No, there's no point we already have the Saltasaurus card. Come on, let's go back to the blimp and head back." Ursula said.
"You think that thing still flies? Zander asked.
"It better," Ursula said as the A-Team disappeared into the jungle.
Rex pressed a button on his Dino Holder and turned Ace back into a card. Max looked at Chomp's card and swiped it in the opposite direction summoning him in chibi-size. "Chomp! It's great to have you back. Let's never get separated again." Max said as Chomp nibbled on his cheek.
"Hey Max, are you okay?" Rex asked as he and Zoe made their way to where he was.
"Yeah," He replied as his stomach began growling. "Ugh… I'm starving though."
"Hey, look!" Zoe said.
"Oh yeah, I forgot about that lizard," Max said.
"Where'd you find it?" Rex asked.
"In the Jungle, running away from Saltasaurus, Just like me," Max said as he let Chomp down.
"Oh! That means…" Rex and Zoe both said.
"Saltasaurus wasn't chasing after you, Max," Zoe continued.
"It wanted the lizard." Rex finished as Chomp chased it.
"Listen up, you three brats!" The D-Team looked up and saw the semi-repaired blimp of the Alpha Trio. "You may have won that round, but we still got the Saltasaurus card! So, we still won, and you can guarantee this won't be the last you'll see of the Alpha Gang!" Ursula shouted at them through a megaphone.
"Yeah! What she said!" Zander and Ed both shouted.
"Alright!" Ursula started. "Now let's stroke!" They all said together.
"I hope Dr. Z got the fuel for the jets because this is just tiring," Zander said.
"I hear ya," Ed agreed.
"That old lady never quits, does she?" Zoe asked her friends.
"I told you before, I'm not old! Got that?!" Ursula yelled as their blimp floated off in the distance.
Back at Max's house…
It was now nighttime and Rex, Zoe, and Dr. Taylor were sitting outside in the backyard, while Rex and Zoe explained what happened in the Amazon.
"So you're saying that the Alpha Gang got the card?" Dr. Taylor said.
"Yeah, they used that Saichania from the museum to capture it," Rex explained.
"You can't win them all, you'll get them next time." Dr. Taylor said.
"Oh yeah, before we met back up with Max. He and a lizard were being chased by Saltasaurus. We guessed it was because it was chasing the lizard." Zoe explained. "Do you have any idea why?" She asked.
"Hmmm… well Salta is the name of the town in South America where its fossils were discovered. The translation of the name 'Saltasaurus' is lizard from Salta" Dr. Taylor explained.
"So, it's a lizard too?" Zoe asked.
"Not necessarily. While yes dinosaurs are reptiles, they're more closely related to birds than to lizards. So, it was probably chasing Max out of curiosity about what he was." Dr. Taylor explained.
"That makes sense. Max, did you hear that?" Zoe asked him, but he and Chomp were too busy eating dinner.
"Did you say something?" He asked.
"Never mind." She said.
"You were right, those two are just alike," Rex said.
"My goodness! Where are your manners?! Slow down! You're both eating like you were raised in a jungle." Aki said to them.
Max looked down at Chomp and smiled at him. "If only she knew, huh, Chomp?" Max said as Chomp looked up at him and then went back to eating.

Hi again. I don't have much to say here other than I'm sorry this took so long. The final act of this story took 7 to 8 rewrites before I was satisfied with it. I also took a short trip to New York to see the city for the first time, so I didn't work on it for a week. I just started college again so I don't think I'll be able to write these any faster.
