Super Smash Bros Adventures chapter 21
"Hey Mario, great job on that set against Mr. Game and Watch. The way you took out his last stocky was awesome." Sonic compliments.
"You did great yourself against Little Mac. With your super fast speed, you were all over him."" Mario compliments.
"Felt kind of bad since it's hard for him to keep up even if it wasn't my full speed. Maybe I should've went a little slower to give him a better shot." Sonic says.
"Don't do that. Little Mac wouldn't be too happy if anyone goes easy on him. I'm sure he's not upset for going all out on him. That's how he gets better in fighting." Mario says.
"Guess you're right. Then I won't hold back whoever my next opponent is. Might be you." Sonic says.
"Hope not. I rather fight you in grand finals so it'll be a good finale for the tournament. Rival vs Rival or Mascot vs Mascot." Mario says.
"I'll be cool with that. It'll be kind of like the Olympics. Man… it's been a long time since we had one." Sonic says.
"I miss those days. It was really fun." Mario says.
"We should be heading back. I think Sakurai is waiting for us." Sonic says.
"Let's a go then. Don't want to keep everyone waiting." Mario says.

As soon as Mario and Sonic arrived back from their break, Sakurai's workers beginning streaming the Smash Tournament again.
"Welcome back everyone to the Semi Finals of the tournament. We have only four Smashers left and the winners of the two set of matches will move on to grand finals and become the winner of the tournament. Now, let's see who'll be fighting next." Sakurai says.
The Smashers Screen randomizes the next matches and the first match is Mario vs Donkey Kong and Sonic vs Shulk afterwards.
"Looks like the battles are settled. Can I have Mario and Donkey Kong up to the Smash Computer and choose their stage they'll be fighting on." Sakurai asks.
Mario and Donkey Kong goes up to the Smash Computer and chose Battlefield in the form of Pokémon Stadium.
"It's me against you again. Another rivalry battle of ours." Mario says.
"This time things will be different. After I beat you, Pauline will fall in love with me." Donkey Kong says, thinking about the Mayor of New Donk City.
"No need to bring her up. Been a while since I last saw her." Mario thinks to himself.
The two Smashers transport to their stage and the battle begins in 3… 2… 1… Go!

Mario charges in and attacks with a Air Punch. Donkey Kong sidesteps and attacks with a few Punches of his own. Mario dodges them quickly and attacks with a Kick. Donkey Kong blocks the attack, grabs Mario's leg, and throws him away to the other side of the stage. Mario lands on top of the left platform and throws a few Fireballs. Donkey Kong jumps towards him and attacks with a Air Hammer Fist attack. Mario jumps up, Stomps on Donkey Kong's head, and follows it with a Air Mario Tornado, knocking him to the other side of the stage. Mario chases after Donkey Kong and attacks with a Backflip Kick. Donkey Kong blocks the attack, tries grabbing Mario's leg again, but missed as Mario double jumps and lands a Flying Kick to his face. Mario continues his attack by landing some Punches, followed up with a couple of Uppercuts, then a strong Kick sending Donkey Kong to the ledge of the stage, and hits him again with a strong Punch, sending him offstage. Donkey Kong recovers back with his Air Spinning Kong, but Mario hits him again with another strong Punch, sending him into the Blast Zone. Donkey Kong recovers back and charges up his Giant Punch on the top platform. Mario jumps up and attacks with a Backflip Kick. Donkey Kong quickly grabs Mario, puts him in a Cargo Hold, and throws him up close to the Blast Zone. As Mario falls back down, he Air Dodges, avoiding Donkey Kong and lands back onto the stage. Donkey Kong chases after Mario and attacks with a Spinning Kong attack. Mario jumps over Donkey Kong, lands a strong Kick, and follows it with a couple of Uppercuts for damage. Mario continues attacking, but Donkey Kong surprised him with a strong Headbutt, burying him down into the ground, and sends him flying into the Blast Zone with a strong Punch. Mario returns back on stage and charges up his F.L.U.D.D. Donkey Kong attacks Mario with a Air Spinning Lariat attack and follows it with a Air Stomp attack. Mario blocks each attack coming at him and attacks back with a Mario Tornado. Donkey Kong blocks all the hits, fights back by landing two Punches, following into a Roll Attack, lands another good Headbutt burying Mario, and ends his attacks with a fully charged Giant Punch for massive damage. Mario flies back really far close to the Blast Zone, and recovers back on stage with his Super Jump Punch. Donkey Kong quickly charges in and goes in with a grab. Mario ducks under Donkey Kong's arms, grabs him instead, lands a couple of good Headbutts, and Tornado Throws him offstage. Donkey Kong double jumps over Mario, lands on the top platform, and strikes with a Air Back Kick. Mario quickly jumps on top of Donkey Kong's head, strikes down with a Air Punch, but Donkey Kong grabs Mario's arm and throws him offstage for a better advantage. Donkey Kong jumps towards Mario and attacks with a Air Slap attack. Mario quickly Air Dodges onto the ledge, dodging the attack and returns back onstage again, and Donkey Kong double jumps back on stage and charges in with another Roll attack. Mario attacks back with a Breakdancing Kick, knocking Donkey Kong away, and pushes him farther with fully powered blast of water with F.L.U.D.D. Donkey Kong recovers with his Air Spinning Kong, but Mario jumps on top of his head, making him lose his momentum and fall straight down, ending the match.

Mario and Donkey Kong returns back to the Smash Mansion and the Smashers cheered for the winner of the match.
"Looks like it's my win." Mario says.
"Even after all these battles we had, I still can't beat you in the main events. Ah well, can't blame you." Donkey Kong shrugs.
"Won't lie, you almost got me. I'll have to be ready for next time when we fight again." Mario says.
"Same here." Donkey Kong says.
Mario and Donkey Kong shake hands and went back to their seats.
"Both Smashers did a great job this match. If anybody doesn't know, these two been rivals for a long time. And Mario ended this match with his signature move from all of his adventures, the classic Jump Stomp. What a way to end this match. Next up, Sonic and Shulk, please come up to the stage." Sakurai asks.
Sonic and Shulk go up to the Smash Computer and chooses their stage, Hyrule Castle in the form of Final Destination.
"With the power of the Monado, I can keep up with your speed, Sonic." Shulk says.
"I like to see you try then. I'm the the fastest thing alive." Sonic smirks.
The two Smashers transported to their stage and the battle begins in 3… 2… 1… Go!

Sonic starts up the fight by running in and attacks with a Spin Attack. Shulk uses his Vision to see the future a little bit, dodges the incoming attack, and swings his Monado Sword. Sonic quickly dodges the incoming attack, hits Shulk with a Leg Sweep, follows it with his Punch-Punch-Kick combo, and finishes up with a double leg Kick, knocking him away. Shulk uses his Monado Sword to go into Speed Form and quickly rushes in with a running charge. Sonic rushes in with a Sliding Kick, but Shulk jumps over Sonic and lands a quick hit with a Back Slash, knocking him away a good distance. Shulk rushes up to Sonic, lands a couple of Sword Slashes, followed with a crouching Slash into an Air Downwards Sword Slash, and finishes up with a strong Beam Sword Slash, sending Sonic offstage. Sonic quickly recovers on stage with his Spring Jump and Shulk rushes in with another Beam Sword Slash. Sonic rolls behind Shulk, grabs him and pummels him with Knee Strikes, sends him flying up with the spikes on his head, and finishes up with a barrage of Homing Attacks into a Air Heel Kick, knocking him offstage. Shulk quickly uses his Monado Sword to go into Jump Form and recovers using Air Slash. Sonic quickly attacks with a downwards Air Kick, sending Shulk farther away from the stage and follows it with another Air Heel Kick, taking away the first stock. Shulk returns back on stage and uses his Monado Sword to go into Buster Form. Sonic runs straight at Shulk and attacks with a Spin Charge attack. Shulk blocks the attack, pushes Sonic back, and lands a good hit with a Sword Slash. Shulk continues his attack with more Sword Slashes, followed up with a few upwards Slashes doing a lot of damage, and ends his string of attacks with a upwards Beam Sword Thrust doing heavy damage, but not sending Sonic flying. Sonic quickly attacks with a downwards Air Kick, hitting Shulk, and continues his attack by landing fast Punches and Kicks, and ends his string of attacks with a Spin Attack followed with a forward Air Spin attack. Shulk changes into his Smash Mode and attacks with some Sword Slashes. Sonic dodges each of them and attacks with a Spin Kick. Luckily, Shulk attacks back with a strong Sword Thrust, sending Sonic flying into the Blast Zone and taking his first stock. Sonic returns back on stage and attacks with a Spin Dash. Shulk changes into his Jump Mode, jumps over Sonic, and attacks with Back Slash. Sonic jumps towards Shulk, Air Dodges behind him, and lands a strong Air Back Kick. Sonic continues on by grabbing Shulk and Kicks him away off the stage and then attacks with a Air Kick. Shulk Air Dodges the attack, but Sonic continues attacking with a quick Homing Attack, knocking Shulk farther away from the stage. Shulk barely survives and sees Sonic about to attack him with a Windup Punch. Shulk goes into his counter stance, predicting the hit, but Sonic charges up his Punch longer than expected and landed a powerful hit, ending the match.

Sonic and Shulk returns and the Smashers cheer for the winner.
"Wow, I didn't expect you to change the future that last second. Really thought I can make a good rhythm if you hit me sooner than later." Shulk says.
"That's what I'm known for. I always do the unexpected. Your future sight and Monado whatever really are useful for combat. Let's do this again sometime." Sonic says.
Shulk smiles and nods. "You know we will."
Sonic and Shulk shake hands and went back to their seats.
"And that wraps up our matches. Great job both of you making a match to remember. Sonic outplaying Shulk's future vision is something we can't look down on. Another match has finally been decided. Now it's the moment you've all been looking for. We'll be starting the final match of the tournament. Mario, Sonic, please come up back up to the stage. The final stage will be the real Final Destination, fitting to end this tournament." Sakurai announces.
Mario and Sonic go up to the Smash Computer and chooses Final Destination.
"This final match is something you can't miss. These two have been Mascot Rivals for a real long time and they'll be deciding who'll be the winner of this tournament." Sakurai says.
Mario and Sonic stare down with the blazing flames coming out of their eyes. Both of them grip their fists and smirk at each other, giving an extreme glare to heat things up.
"Mario, let's give everyone a show to remember." Sonic says.
"Yeah. Let's give it all we got." Mario says.
"I'll be fighting you in full speed. Hope you can take it." Sonic says.
"That's the way I want it to be." Mario says.
Mario and Sonic transported to their stage and the final round will being in 3… 2… 1… Go!

Mario and Sonic starts by dashing into each other and clashed with a attack. Mario quickly throws some Punches, while Sonic dodges them and attacks back with some quick Kicks. Mario dodges each of them, jumps up in the air and attacks with a Air Punch. Sonic sidesteps the attack and lands a Kick to Mario's face, followed up with a couple of Punches, and finishes up with a strong Kick, doing some good damage. Mario watched closely as Sonic runs in high speed and attacks with a Spin Attack. Mario jumps over the attack, looks back as Sonic continues charging in with his Spin Attack, throws a strong Punch, knocking Sonic out of his ball form. While he has the chance, Mario lands some strong Punches on Sonic, followed with a strong Kick knocking him back, grabs him with and throws him forward close to the ledge of the stage gaining the upper hand. Sonic watches as Mario jumps up and throws some Fireballs, easily jumps over them and attacks with a Air Spinning Attack. Mario quickly Air Dodges the attack, but was surprised by a hit to his stomach from Sonic's Homing Attack, knocking him offstage. Sonic jumps off the stage and attacks with another Homing Attack. Mario barely dodges the attack, recovers back with his Super Jump Punch, and returns to the center of the stage to gain control on the field. Sonic returns back on stage with his Spring Jump, turns into a ball and attacks with a Spin Charge Attack. Mario runs in and attacks with a Headbutt, knocking Sonic out of his ball form and follows it with a few Back Flip Kicks, and ends his combo with a Air Mario Tornado, sending him close to the Blast Zone. Sonic barely survived, falls towards the ledge of the stage, charges in as Mario lands on the ground, and lands a strong Dash Kick, knocking him down on the ground. While he has the chance, Sonic lands a Spinning Crouching Kick, followed up with a Air Flip Heel Kick, followed up with his Punch-Punch-Kick combo, and ends his combo string with a Breakdancing Kick Attack, knocking Mario off the stage. Mario tries recovering with his Super Jump Punch, but as he recovered back, Sonic jumps up and lands a strong Air Kick, sending him into the Blast Zone and taking his first stock. Mario returns back on stage and sees Sonic already attacking him with another Spin Charge. Mario takes out his Super Leaf Cape, turns him away with a quick wave, and lands a strong Punch, sending Sonic to the other side of the stage. Sonic runs in and quickly attacks with a Sliding Kick. Mario jumps up above Sonic, Stomps on his head, and follows it with a strong Drop Kick, knocking him off the stage. Sonic recovers with his Spring Jump, but Mario comes in with his own Slide Kick, knocking Sonic away even further from the stage and taking his first stock. Both Smashers are neck to neck and there's only two minutes left until the match is over. As Sonic recovers, he charges in with high speed and throws some Punches and Kicks. Mario strikes back with his own Punches and Kicks and both Smashers getting hit back to back. Mario attacks with a Headbutt, but Sonic side steps away, grabs and pummels Mario with some Knee strikes, and throws him away with a Back Flip Slam. Sonic runs up and attacks with a Homing Attack. Mario gets back up on his feet and lands a strong Punch, knocking Sonic away, and follows it with another strong Punch, sending him even further away. Mario continues his attack by throwing out a Kick, following up with a Uppercut, and ends his combo with a Air Mario Tornado, sending Sonic up to the sky. Sonic regains himself and attacks with a fast dropping Flying Kick, knocking Mario away. Sonic continues his attack with some Spin Dash Attacks from up front and behind, following up with Heel Kick to the head, and ends his combo with Double Kick, knocking Mario down on the ground. The two Smashers grin each other and they continue to fight as hard as they could. After sometime there's only thirty seconds left on the clock and the two Smashers are still fighting. Both of them took many hits and damage that only one more hit will end the match for good. Both Smashers breathe really heavily as they couldn't move an inch. Mario and Sonic stare down at each other, grit their teeth, and use the last of their energy they have left for one more attack. Mario rushes in with everything he has as Sonic does the same. Mario throws out a Punch and Sonic throws out a Kick with everything they got and surprisingly, both of them got hit at the same time. The two Smashers were both sent flying in high speed and the match ended with Sonic getting sent into the Blast Zone first and Mario surviving the last second.

Mario and Sonic returns back to the Smash Mansion and all of the Smashers that were spectating cheer loudly for the winner. Some of them were disappointed that they lost the bet, but still cheer in the end because of how intense the match was. Mario and Sonic both pant really heavily as sweat falls down from their faces.
"I… I… won…" Mario surprisingly says.
"Hey Mario… What a battle that was! We were really going all out back there. None of us were holding back and I even used my full speed on you. Congrats on winning." Sonic says, offering his hand for a handshake.
Mario smiles and shakes Sonic's hand. "Thank you! This battle was insane for the both of us. I really thought I was going to lose when we sent each other flying that last second."
Sakurai goes up to the stage with a huge smile on his face. "We have our winner for the first Super Smash Bros tournament! Our winner is, Mario!!!"
The Smashers cheer really loudly for Mario and chants coming out from the crowd. Mario looks at all the Smashers, waves at them, and does his signature Jump pose as his victory pose for the tournament.
"Now that the tournament is over, can I please have all the Smashers who fought in the tournament to come up to the stage with Mario and Sonic." Sakurai asks.
Donkey Kong, Marth, Mr. Game and Watch, Charizard, Little Mac, and Shulk line up with Mario and Sonic, and Sakurai's workers prepared them the prizes.
"Now then. Everyone here did an amazing job showcasing for the first tournament. You all win Smash Coins and a Medal for competing. Sonic, you got second place in the tournament so you get more Smash Coins than the other Smashers below your placement, and a silver second place trophy. Congratulations." Sakurai says, giving Sonic a silver trophy.
"Thanks a lot, Sakurai." Sonic thanked, looking at his silver Smash Ball trophy
"And for you, Mario, since you won the tournament, not only you get the more Smash Coins than Sonic, you get a golden first place trophy, and two tickets to a fancy Italian Restaurant that's in construction in Smash City. Congratulations." Sakurai says, giving Mario his trophy and two tickets for a free meal at the Italian Restaurant.
"Thank you so much, Sakurai." Mario says, looking at his golden Smash Ball trophy.
"That concludes today's tournament. We hope that you all enjoy the tournament. Stay tune as more tournaments will be shown in the future. This is Sakurai saying thank you for joining us today for the first Super Smash Bros tournament. We'll see you all again really soon." Sakurai says, waving to the camera and ending the livestream.
"Mario!" Luigi runs up and gives him a big hug. "Congratulations on your win, bro!" Luigi happily says.
"Thanks, Luigi!" Mario thanked.
"You were so cool! You're all like bam! And hi yah! And ka pow!" Pit says, mimicking Mario's fighting moves.
"Ha ha! Thanks, Pit." Mario thanked.
"Really though, you fought amazingly out there." Link compliments.
"Just wanted to do my best to win." Mario says.
Sakurai then remembers something. "Almost forgot to mention. Later at night, there'll be a party tonight so make sure you all dress up nicely."
"Oh boy!" Pit cheered.
"We're going to have some fun tonight." Luigi says.
"Since this is Sakurai we're taking about, he always does a lot for us." Link says.
"Yep." Mario yawns. "I need a break from all this fighting."
"Make sure you all dress up nicely for tonight. We'll be having delicious food and picture taking." Sakurai says.

Later at night, the Smashers and workers gathered around at the ballroom for the after tournament party. A lot of delicious food and drinks were made, photographers came to take some pictures of the Smashers, and there were dancing and games for everyone. It was a good time for everyone to enjoy.
"Then that's when I got my shoes and ran away as fast as I can." Sonic tells a story about Amy stealing his shoes.
"Crazy… Amy is really obsessed with you. Like really really obsessed. Luckily, Mrs. Pac-Man isn't crazy like her." Pac-Man says, taking a sip on his red fruit punch.
"Same thing for Roll. She's not crazy at all. Well… maybe not as crazy as her, but you know what I meant." Mega-Man says, eating a slice of vanilla cake.
"Girls in general are crazy. Even the most calm kind can be crazy her own way. That's just normal for them." Mario says.
"Yeah… Are you ok with sticking to this kind of conversation? Because you know…" Sonic asks, hoping not to make Mario uncomfortable.
"It's all right. Go on keep talking." Mario says.
"You sure? We can stop and talk about something else if you like." Pac-Man suggests.
"I actually enjoyed listening to y'all's stores of your love interests. It's really entertaining to hear of what kind of things you've been through." Mario says.
"If you say so. Then I'll go next with how Roll almost sank Dr. Light's lab in water." Mega-Man says.
"Before you start, let me get another plate of food." Mario says.
"Ok. We'll start until you come back." Mega-Man says.
Mario walks to the buffet table and gets himself a new plate of food. "Let's see… I'll try the barbecue chicken, Texas toast, and chili cheese hotdogs. Oh, the Mexican rice looks delicious too."
"Hello, Mario."
Mario looks behind him and sees Lyn, who was the one that greeted him. "Oh hey there Lyn." He looks closely at her of the dress she's wearing. It's a blue dress that Peach wore from long ago when they started as friends. "This dress… is this, Peach's?"
"That's right. Princess Peach let me have one of her dresses since I don't have one for special occasions like this. It's really nice of her giving this to me, even though I'm not use to wearing these kinds of outfits." Lyn embarrassingly says.
"This dress was one of the first dresses that Peach wore when we met up a long time ago. I don't really see her wear it anymore since she likes wearing pink more than blue. You look great in that dress." Mario compliments.
Lyn's cheeks turns slightly red. "Aww, thank you. You look nice in your outfit as well."
"Thank you for that. By the way, did you enjoy watching today's tournament?" Mario asks.
"I really have! You did an amazing job winning the tournament. I was really happy that you won that I couldn't stop smiling. Congratulations!" Lyn happily says.
"Ha ha. Thank you. It was a tough tournament, but I managed to win it. And it was thanks to your help that I won." Mario says.
"Oh, I didn't do much. It was your strength and hard work what made you win." Lyn says.
"But what you said to me before the tournament really helped me to give it all I got and the training we've been doing since the Super Smash Bros tournament started. Really, I'm really thankful for having a friend like you doing this for me. So thank you for helping me win, Lyn. I wouldn't have won without your support." Mario thanked, letting out a big smile.
Lyn smiles after hearing Mario's kind words, making her heart skip a beat. "I'm glad that I could help. Just wanted you to do your best. When I fight in a tournament, I hope that you support me like what I did for you."
"Of course! I'll give you my full support!"Mario says.
A Photographer came up to them. "Excuse me, can I take a picture of you two?"
"Sure you can." Mario says.
"I'm… not quite sure how this work. I'm used to people just drawing portraits." Lyn says.
"It's easy. Just look at the camera and smile." Mario says.
Mario and Lyn look at the camera and smiled. The photographer takes a picture of the two of them and gave each one of them a picture for them to keep.
"Wow, this is a really nice picture." Mario says.
"It really is. I'm going to keep it for good memories." Lyn says.
"Me too. I need to go back to my group. About to listen a story about Mega-Man's girlfriend." Mario says.
"Ah ok. I'll see you later then. And congratulations again." Lyn says.
Mario and Lyn wave bye to each other and went back to their groups. When Mario arrived, he sees Sonic, Mega-Man, and Pac-Man with a huge grin on their face.
"Uhh… is something wrong?" Mario asks.
"Don't play innocent, Casanova. We saw you talking to Lyn over at the buffet table." Sonic says.
"You looked really happy when you were talking to her." Pac-Man says.
"And you also took a picture with her. Must be nice for you." Mega-Man says.
"Of course I was happy. She was one of the reasons why I won the tournament in the first place." Mario says.
"Yeah sure… Maybe you were actually happy of the dress she's wearing." Sonic says.
"It's not like that! Can we stop talking about Lyn and get on with the story!" Mario says.
"Ok, ok. We'll stop." Pac-Man says.
"Just teasing you. Ok, let me tell you all how it all started." Mega-Man says.
"Still… Lyn does look pretty in the dress she's wearing." Mario thinks to himself, slightly blushing.
