"Any change?" Gold asked as Regina came out of the back room.
"No. He's not improving. He needs true love's kiss. He won't wake up until Mary Margaret comes back." Regina replied.
"Until? Well, that's rather optimistic, isn't it?" Gold questioned.
Is he implying something? I hope he's not implying what I think he's implying. I guess I'll know soon enough.
"What are you talking about?" Regina fired back.
"They're up against your mother. The only chance Snow, Emma, and Hazelle have of defeating her, is with the squid ink." Gold replied.
"Which is why you sent the message through David." Regina said.
"Which would be beneficial, if we knew that message was delivered. But alas, given the Prince's condition, we don't know. As such, it's important we take precautions. We have to consider the possibility that, when that portal opens, it won't be his family that come through. It'll be Cora." Gold said.
"And neither of us want that." Regina said.
"We have to find where they're coming through, and destroy that portal." Gold said.
Destroy the portal? Is he serious right now?
"But whoever came through would die." Regina said.
"Exactly. But, I'm confident between the two of us, we can summon up enough magic to complete the task." Gold said.
"Well, what if we're wrong? What if that portal opens up, and it's not my mother? What if Mary Margaret, Emma, and Hazelle do defeat Cora, and go through it?" Regina asked.
I'm glad that Regina is starting to think things through because if not, then I might just have to reveal myself, once again, and put a stop to this.
"Well, I believe in this world, they call that a win-win." Gold replied.
"How exactly is that?" Regina questioned.
"If we stop Cora, you are protected from your mother's wrath. If, on the other hand, we stop Snow, Emma, and Hazelle, well… You become the only mother in your son's life, now don't you? Look, magic is unpredictable in this world. If something unfortunate were to happen while you were attempting to help… Henry could hardly blame you for that, could he?" Gold replied.
"No. I can't lie to him. I am trying to be a better mother." Regina said.
"You won't be able to be a better anything if Cora comes through. And if she does, she will be a threat to everyone- including your son. So, if you truly want to be a good mother to Henry- to protect him- if you want to be better, prove it." Gold said.
What the hell? I can tell that Regina wants to do right by Henry, but she's also wavering. I hope she listens to her heart and keeps her word to Henry.
*Hazelle's POV*
We finally arrived at Rumple's cell, and I really hope we find the squid ink, so we can get back home.
"Rumpelstiltskin's cell. I haven't been here since before Regina's curse. This is where he told us you were going to be the savior." Mary Margaret said.
"He knew?" Emma and I asked together.
"It was prophesied. Come on." Mary Margaret said.
We went into the cell and went looking for what we needed.
"The squid ink- it's not here." Aurora said.
"Gold said we would find it." Mary Margaret said.
We started looking in the crevices in the walls and I hope we can find the ink so we can go home.
"Well, was there anyone else in here with him? Could they have taken the ink?" Mulan asked.
"No, he was kept alone. Visitors were forbidden. He was too dangerous to allow any human contact." Mary Margaret replied.
"How'd he keep from going crazy?" I asked.
"He didn't." Aurora said as she was looking at something.
"What is it?" Mary Margaret questioned.
"Is that a message?" Emma questioned.
"Yes. And I think it's for you." Aurora replied before handing, what looked like paper, to Emma.
"Why would you think…that." I went to ask but stopped when Emma unrolled the paper and all of us saw her name written over, and over, and over again.
*End of POV*
I listened as Henry read Snow White to David and I couldn't help but wipe a few shed tears because I feel so bad for this kid. I wish I could tell him what is going on because maybe then, he could stop Regina and Mr. Gold from trying to keep Emma, Hazelle, and Mary Margaret from returning home. Regina then entered the room, and I listened closely to see exactly what was going to say.
"I think this time, it'll happen the other way around." Regina said.
"You think so?" Henry asked.
"I do. Which is why I need you to stay here and watch David for a little while." Regina replied.
"Where are you going?" Danielle asked.
Wait a damn minute. Where in the hell did this girl come from? She wasn't here the whole time, but now she's here. I also can't believe that this bitch is playing these nice people. She's going to get what's coming to her when everything is said and done.
"Mr. Gold and I need to prepare for Emma, Mary Margaret, and Hazelle's return. Coming through the portal won't be easy. We need to make sure everything's in place." Regina replied.
"Really? You're going to help them?" Henry asked in shock.
"I promised both of you that I was going to do better- to be better. So, yes, I'm going to do everything in my power to see to it they come home safely." Regina replied.
"Wow. You really have changed." Danielle said.
All three of them smiled at each other before Regina spoke.
"Be back as soon as I can." Regina said before leaving the room.
I thought about following after Regina but decided against it because I figured that I would be more useful here watching over David, Henry, and Danielle.
*Hazelle's POV*
We continued searching for the ink, and Emma was still trying to figure out why Gold wrote her name so many times.
"What does this even mean?" Emma asked.
"He was obsessed with you, Emma. You were the key to breaking the curse." Mary Margaret replied.
"We've looked everywhere. There's no ink in this cell." Aurora said.
"Well, it has to be. He told David." Mary Margaret said.
"You were in a Netherworld. Maybe something got lost in translation." Emma said.
I looked at her funny because I don't understand why she would say that.
"No. She heard right." Mulan said as she pulled something out of a dark hole.
"You found it?" Mary Margaret asked with excitement.
"In a manner of speaking. There was ink in the cell." Mulan replied as she showed us an empty bottle.
"Son of a bitch…" Emma and I muttered together.
"Aurora, what are you doing?!" Emma and I yelled after Aurora threw a rock and hit the lever to trap us in the cell.
"Helping me." Cora said as she and Hook appeared.
"No." Emma gasped as she tried to get out of the cell to get the compass back from Cora.
"No. Don't waste your energy, dear. Rumpelstiltskin himself couldn't escape from this cell. Thank you, Aurora. We couldn't have done it without you." Cora said.
"Why would you do that?" Emma asked.
"How could you?" Mary Margaret asked.
"Don't blame her. She's only doing what she was told." Cora said as she pulled out Aurora's heart.
"You took her heart?" I asked.
"Actually, I did. It was a gift." Hook replied.
I growled lowly because I knew that if I didn't keep calm, I would explode, and that wouldn't be good for any of us.
Cora then gave Aurora's heart a little squeeze and Aurora yelled out in pain.
"Forgive us. We'd love to stay, but Storybrooke awaits." Cora said before her and Hook turned to leave.
"Hook. Wait. Please don't do this. My son is in Storybrooke. He needs us." Emma said.
"Perhaps you should've considered that before both of you abandoned me on that beanstalk." Hook said as he looked between me and Emma.
"You would've done the same." I said.
"Actually, no. Do you know what this is, Emma, Hazelle?" Hook said before asking me and Emma a question about a mummified bean on a necklace.
"The bean that the giant kept." Emma replied.
"Yes, indeed. A pirate always keeps a souvenir of his conquest, but this… Well, this is much more than a mere trinket. This is a symbol. Something that was once magical, full of hope, possibility… Now look at it. Dried up, dead, useless. Much like both of you. The time for making deals is done, just as I'm done… with both of you." Hook said before turning to walk away with Cora.
"That's why you could never beat Pan, and good will always triumph over evil, always." I said loud enough that I know Hook heard me.
*End of POV*
"Where are they? Regina and Gold." Ruby asked as her, Leroy, and the other dwarves entered the room where David, Henry, and Danielle were.
"What's going on?" Danielle asked confused.
"All the magic has been drained from the mines." Ruby replied.
"They stole it?" Henry asked.
"They snuck in after our shift and took everything. Nobody steals from a dwarf!" Leroy replied.
"Except the Queen." Doc said.
"And Rumpelstiltskin." Happy added.
"If they're not helping Emma, Mary Margaret, and Hazelle that… that means our mom lied to us." Danielle said.
Hold up! Did this girl just call Regina mom? Is this for real?
"I'm sorry, Henry, Danielle." Ruby said.
"We need to find her. We need to stop them. We need to help Emma, Mary Margaret, and Hazelle." Henry said.
This kid kills me. I love how he has a heart of gold, and I'm glad he took after Emma, even though she didn't raise him.
*Hazelle's POV*
"We aren't going to break it down, Emma. It was enchanted to hold Rumpelstiltskin. We don't have a chance." Mary Margaret said as Emma was banging the cell with her sword.
Emma stopped banging and sat next to the cell door. I joined her and I could tell that she was absolutely defeated.
"This is my fault." Aurora said as she joined us.
"No, it's mine. Cora stole your heart because I failed to protect you." Mulan said as she joined Aurora.
"That's very sweet, but I believe it's my fault. I'm the saviour, and I'm not doing much saving, am I?" Emma asked.
"We're going to win this fight, you know. Good always defeats evil." Mary Margaret said as she joined us.
"You sound like Henry and Hazelle." Emma said.
"Guess optimism runs in the family." I said with a giggle.
Mary Margaret gave me a smile and I returned it.
"I think it skipped a generation." Emma said.
"You should know better than anybody. You broke the curse." Mary Margaret said.
"What have I done since then? I got us stranded over here, burned down the wardrobe, let Cora get the ash, and now, the compass. The only reason I ever broke the curse, was because it was exactly what Gold wanted me to do. I had nothing to do with it." Emma said.
"What are you talking about?" Mary Margaret asked.
"He told you I was the saviour. It was his plan. Once I fulfilled that role, maybe that's all I was ever meant to do. Everything I've ever done… he had it all mapped out before I was even born. I'm not powerful. I'm… I'm not… a saviour. I'm a name on a piece of paper. (Emma handed the paper with her name on it to Mary Margaret) I'm a pawn, and that's exactly why we are in here. And Cora's on her way to Storybrooke." Emma replied.
I could tell that Emma was really hurting, but we have to get through this for Henry. I'm not sure how, but I know we'll get out of here and back to our family before too long.
After a few minutes of silence, Mary Margaret broke it.
"We are going to get out of here." Mary Margaret said.
"How? By staring at that scroll? It's not like it's going to magically open the door for us." Emma said.
"Yes, it is." Mary Margaret said as she stood up.
"What?" I asked confused.
"When I was a little girl, I used to sneak into Cora's chamber and watch her practice magic. She had a spell book and, Emma, Hazelle… The spells were in the book." Mary Margaret replied.
"Yeah, isn't that what a spell book is? A book that has spells in it?" Emma questioned.
"Watch." Mary Margaret said.
Mary Margaret then blew on the paper, and the words lifted off of it.
"Whoa! Squid ink. Gold wrote the scroll in squid ink!" I exclaimed as Emma and I joined Mary Margaret.
Mary Margaret then blew the words toward the door of the cell, and that magically created an exit for us.
"Told you. Good always wins." Mary Margaret told Emma.
"Wait. I can't go. You have to tie me up." Aurora said.
"No. I'm not leaving without you." Mulan said.
"I can't be trusted. Not as long as Cora has my heart." Aurora said.
"Then I will get it back for you." Mulan said.
"Mulan." Aurora gasped.
"I will." Mulan said.
"Mulan, we have to go." I said.
"Do it." Aurora said.
Mulan tied Aurora up and I felt bad because I can tell that they both love each other.
"Good luck." Aurora told us.
"Thank you. Good luck to you." Mary Margaret said.
"Hopefully our paths will cross again soon." I said before we all left.
We finally caught up with Hook and Cora, and Mary Margaret shot an arrow and knocked the compass out of their hands.
"You're not going anywhere." Mary Margaret yelled.
"This portal's taking us home!" I yelled.
"The compass, get it." Mary Margaret told us.
Emma and I ended up fighting Hook, and Mulan and Mary Margaret were fighting Cora. Hook then catches Aurora's heart and gives it to Mulan.
"I may be a pirate, but I bristle a the thought of a woman losing her heart unless it's over me." Hook said.
Mulan didn't know what to do and we all knew what she needed to do.
"Go!" Mary Margaret told her.
"No, but you need the compass!" Mulan said back.
"And Aurora needs her heart." Mary Margaret argued back.
"Take it. It deflects her magic." Mulan said as she handed Mary Margaret her sword.
Mulan then left, and Emma and I got ready to fight.
"I had no idea you had such a soft side." I said.
"I don't. Just like a fair fight." Hook said.
I was confused because this wasn't a fair fight unless he thinks one of us can't fight too well, but he'll learn soon. Emma and I continued to fight Hook before he knocked me away and flipped Emma on her back.
"Normally, I prefer to do other more enjoyable activities with a woman on her back. With my life on the line, you've left me no choice. A bit of advice? When I jab you with my sword, you'll feel it. You might want to quit." Hook said.
"Why would I do that when I'm winning?" Emma said while showing Hook the compass.
I tackled Hook off of Emma, but let her finish him off.
"Thanks." Emma said before punching Hook and knocking him unconscious.
"Now, let's go home!" Emma and I yelled together.
*End of POV*
Ruby, Henry, Danielle, and myself finally found Regina and Gold, and boy did I want to show myself, but I knew that it wasn't time.
"Mom? You're not helping Emma, Mary Margaret, and Hazelle, are you?" Henry asked.
Regina and Gold were confused, but Gold didn't seem to care, but Regina did.
"I'm helping you, Henry, Danielle.' Regina replied.
"What are you talking about?" Danielle asked.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around this, but soon enough, this girl will get what's coming to her.
"You're going to kill them." Ruby said.
"Sorry, dearie." Gold said as he used magic to push Ruby back and knocking her out.
"Mom, what are you doing?" Henry asked.
"We can't let Cora come through the portal. You have no idea what she would do to us." Regina replied.
"Emma, Mary Margaret, and Hazelle are going to defeat her. They're the ones that are going to come through." Danielle said.
"Henry, Danielle, your mother's right. It's going to be Cora." Gold said.
I knew right then that these two had no idea who was actually coming through. They really think it's Cora, but they don't want that, and they don't want Emma, Mary Margaret, and Hazelle coming through either.
"No, it won't. Good always defeats evil. You should know that more than anyone." Henry said.
"What I know, is my mother will destroy everything I love- and that means both of you. And I can't let that happen." Regina said.
*Hazelle's POV*
Emma and I went after Cora but she disappeared. Emma, Mary Margaret, and I ran towards the portal, but Cora reappeared and magically threw us back. Emma and I went to go after Cora, who was going after Mary Margaret, but Cora magically threw us to the ground.
"Why do you want to go to Storybrooke?" Mary Margaret asked.
"Because my daughter needs me. And now, I'm going to give her the one thing she's always wanted- your heart. Goodbye, Snow." Cora replied.
"No!" Emma and I yelled before I got up and shoved Mary Margaret away.
"Alycia!" "Hazelle!" Mary Margaret and Emma yelled at me as Cora's hand went into my chest.
"Oh, you foolish girl. Don't you know? Love is weakness." Cora said in shock that I did what I did.
Cora then tried to pull my heart out, but couldn't. She couldn't believe that she couldn't and was trying to figure it out.
"No. It's strength." Emma and I said together.
A burst of light pulsed out of me and made Cora disappear. Emma and Mary Margaret joined me, and now I'm even more confused.
"What was that?" Emma asked for me.
"That… is a great subject for discussion. When we get home." Mary Margaret replied.
We dashed to the whirlpool and got ready to jump.
"Ready?" Mary Margaret asked.
"Yeah. Let's go." Emma and I replied.
We then jumped in the whirlpool heading back to Storybrooke.
*End of POV*
I almost came out of hiding when Henry ran towards the well, but Regina beat me to it, because she restrained him.
"You can't! Stop it! You're going to kill them! Please! No! They're going to make it through! We have to turn it off! You're going to kill them!" Henry yelled.
He then broke free and tried to run to the well again, but Regina stopped him.
"Henry! What are you doing?" Regina asked.
Did she really just ask that? Also, why isn't Danielle trying to do the same thing? I'll have to ask a good friend of mine about why she's here and not where she's supposed to be.
"Emma, Mary Margaret, and Hazelle are going to come through. I know it. You said you wanted to change- to be better. This is how. You want me to have in you? Have faith in me." Henry replied.
Regina then walked to the well. I knew right then that she was going to try to stop what was happening.
"Regina." Gold called out.
Regina held her arms out and used her magic to remove the electrical barrier from the well. Regina got rid of the barrier, and the force threw her back. No one came through the barrier, but I was holding by breath.
"No!" Henry yelled.
"I'm sorry, Henry. I'm sorry." Regina said.
All of a sudden, a hand appeared. Then Emma pulled herself out, followed by Mary Margaret and Hazelle.
"Mom?" Henry asked.
"Henry!" Emma yelled.
"Mom!" Henry yelled as he ran towards the girls.
Emma hugged Henry as tight as she could, and Mary Margaret and Hazelle joined in the hug.
I knew this was my time to leave, but I knew that I would see this group of people again very soon.
*Hazelle's POV*
"I missed you!" Emma said.
"I missed you, too." Henry said back.
"We missed you so much." I added.
"What's going on?" "What's happened?" Emma and I asked together.
Gold was slowly making himself scarce, Regina was on the ground, and Ruby was laying on the ground but coming around from, I guess, being knocked out.
"She saved you. She saved all of you." Henry replied.
"Thank you." Emma said to Regina.
"You're welcome." Regina said back.
"Are you okay?" Ruby asked.
Ruby then hugged me before hugging Mary Margaret. I'm so happy to finally be home.
"Where's my husband? I need to find him." Mary Margaret said.
Mary Margaret and Ruby started walking off.
"Um, your mom… She's, uh… She's … A piece of work, you know?" Emma said to Regina.
"Indeed, I do. Welcome back." Regina said.
"Thanks." Emma said before we all followed after Ruby and Mary Margaret.
We entered Gold's shop and went to the room that David was in. Mary Margaret walked over to David and kissed him. We all felt the rush of magic pulse through the room, and we knew that the curse was broken.
"You… You did it." David said after he woke up.
"Did you ever doubt I would?" Mary Margaret asked.
They kissed again and I was so happy to see them back together.
"No. Though, the burning red room did give me pause." David replied.
Emma and I went to talk to Gold because we needed some answers.
"We need to talk." I said.
"Yes. I believe apologies are in order." Gold said.
"No. No apologies necessary. We understand why you wanted to keep Cora out of here." Emma said.
"Just remind me never to bet against either of you in the future, Miss Swan, Miss Evans." Gold said.
"It's not really a bet when the game is rigged, is it?" I questioned.
"To what exactly are you referring?" Gold questioned back.
"Your scroll. I saw it in your cell. You wrote my name again, and again, and again." Emma replied.
"Just wanted to make sure it would stick." Gold said.
"The ink- it was there all the time. You could've gotten out." I said.
"I was exactly where I wanted to be. You needed to find that, so all this could occur." Gold said.
"You created the curse, Gold. You made me the saviour. So everything I've ever done… It's exactly what you wanted me to do." Emma said.
"I created the curse, dearie, but I didn't make you or Miss Evans. I merely took advantage of what you are- the product of true love. That's why you're powerful. And everything you've done, you've done yourself." Gold said.
"So you don't know." I said.
"Know what?" Gold asked.
"Cora… Tried to rip my heart, but she couldn't. She was blasted back by something inside me. By… By-" I replied, but I wasn't sure how to finish my sentence.
"By magic. Whatever that was, I didn't do it. You did." Gold finished for me.
Emma and I looked at each other before going back to the rest of the group.
"Emma, Alycia." Mary Margaret said as she noticed us.
"Looks like we have some catching up to do." David said to us.
"You have no idea." I laughed.
"How about dinner at Granny's? On me." Ruby asked.
"As long as it's not Chimera, I'm in. Hey, kid. You hungry?" Emma replied before talking to Henry.
"Yeah." Henry replied.
"I'll see you later." Henry told Regina as he pulled away from her and joined us.
We all walked to Granny's and I was inbetween Emma and David. I can't believe that these people are my family. I'm glad that we found them, and I can't wait to get to know them and for them to get to know me. I hope we can live our lives normally, well, as normal as can be, for a little while.
