Emma, David, and Mary Margaret came by to get me as they were on their way to the town line. Emma explained that there was something going on at the town line, and we needed to hurry. I got in the squad car and we headed to the town line. When we got there, Gold and Belle were at the town line, Hook was on one side of the road, who nobody has noticed yet but me, and there was a car on the other side.

"I'm at the town line. Two people down, maybe three. There's a car- pretty banged up with Pennsylvania plates." Emma said through her radio.

David and Mary Margaret went to Gold and Belle, while Emma and I headed towards Hook.

"Hey, beautiful. Here, I didn't think you'd notice." Hook strained to say.

Emma ignored him, so I bent down to check his wounds. I pressed on his ribs and he yelled out in pain.

"Your ribs are broken." I said.

"Oh, that must be why it hurts when I laugh. Did you see his face? His one true love, gone in an instant! Just like Milah, crocodile! When you took her from me…" Hook said before throwing insults at Gold.

"But you took her first." Gold said.

Gold then lunged at Hook and dug his cane into his neck.

"Gold, are you insane?" Emma asked after she had pulled me away before Gold got to Hook.

"Yes, I am!" Gold yelled.

"You can't do that!" David said as he tried to hold Gold back.

"I can if you let me go." Gold said.

"You don't want her to see that." I tried to reason.

"I'm a stranger to her." Gold argued back.

"Murder is a bad first impression." I said.

"What would Belle want you to do?" David asked.

Before Gold could do anything else, an ambulance showed up. It distracted Gold long enough for David to pull him off of Hook.

"Over here!" David called out.

The paramedics headed towards us, but Emma directed them towards the car.

"No! Him! Take care of him. He can wait." Emma told the paramedics.

I didn't hear anything that was said because I was trying to figure out what was going to happen next.

"I told you not to egg him on, but did you listen? No, you didn't, you dumbass." I mumbled to Hook before joining the others.

We headed to the hospital and I was trying to figure things out to try to help Emma with this.

"Hide him." Emma told the nurse about Hook.

"What?" the nurse asked confused.

"Find a room and hide him." Emma replied.

Gold soon entered the hospital and I knew this wouldn't end well for anyone.

"Belle. What's going on?" Gold asked.

"Get him out of here." David called out.

"Well, what's happening? Belle!" Gold called out.

"I'd like to know that myself." Leroy said as he came in as well.

"Belle! Belle!" Gold hollered.

"Everybody, calm down! Mr. Gold, everything will be fine. She's in good hands here. I promise." Dr. Whale said as he finally showed his face.

After everyone was settled in their hospital room, I went with Emma to interrogate Hook.

"Where's Cora?" Emma asked as soon as Hook came to.

"What? (Hook went to move his arm and realized that he was handcuffed) Again? You're really into this, aren't you? Damn, that hurts." Hook asked before grunting in pain.

"Told you- cracked a few ribs. Where's Cora?" I asked.

"You look good, I must say. All 'where's Cora?' in a commanding voice. Chills." Hook said as he tied to flirt.

"You have all sorts of sore places. We can make you hurt." Emma said.

She then gave me a look and I pushed my hand into his ribs and made him hiss in pain.

"I have no idea where Cora is. She has her own agenda. Let's talk about something I am interested in- my hook. May I have it back? Or is there another attachment you'd prefer?" Hook asked us.

"You're awfully chipper for a guy who just failed to kill his enemy, then got hit by a car." I said.

"Well, my ribs may be broken, but… Everything else is still intact. Which is more than can be said for the other bad days I've had. Plus, I did some quality damage to my foe." Hook said.

"You hurt Belle." Emma said.

"I hurt his heart. Belle's just where he keeps it. He killed my love. I know the feeling." Hook said.

"Keep smiling, buddy. You're chained down, he's on his feet, immortal, has magic, and you hurt his girl. If I were to pick dead guy of the year? I'd pick you." I said before Emma and I left Hook's room.

I didn't pay any attention to anything that was said until Emma said something about the guy from the car.

"Hook says he doesn't know where Cora is, and God knows what she's going to do. With other people coming here, that's not going to be good for anyone." Emma said.

"We need to find Regina- tell her we know she was framed." Mary Margaret said.

"I've been tracking her. No luck. She's gone underground." Ruby said.

"But what if Cora finds her first? I don't want to think about the damage those two would do together. This could not have come at a worse time." Mary Margaret said.

"It's okay. The guy's being patched up right now. He'll probably be on his way home by morning." Emma said.

Dr. Whale soon joined our conversation.

"Not quite. He's bleeding into his chest cavity. It's not a full flood, you know. But, pretty soon, he'll be drowning in his own blood." Dr. Whale told us about the guy from the car.

"So make it stop. Aren't you a doctor?" I asked.

Dr. Whale spotted Gold and went to him.

"Gold. You fixed me. Now fix him. It will take you seconds and cost you nothing." Dr. Whale said.

"No." Gold said.

"No? Just… no?" Dr. Whale asked confused.

"I owe you nothing, Whale. I owe none of you anything. And some of you, owe me. So, yeah, just… no. Oh, and point of interest- the driver? He saw me throwing some magic. So, instead of trying to get him out of here, you better be hoping he dies. Because if he doesn't, he's going to be driving tour buses up and down main street. So glad I don't give a damn." Gold replied before leaving.

"Look… letting him die is easy. I can do that if that's what you decide." Dr. Whale told us.

"Let's take this somewhere private." Emma said.

I let the others talk while I waited to hear more on Belle because I want to make sure she's alright. The nurse told me what she could about Belle and I was really thankful for that because I like Belle. The others came out of their meeting and I ended up walking with David and finding Dr. Whale staring at Greg's, the guy from the car, watch.

"What's that?" I asked as we walked up.

"Oh. It's just the guy's personal effects. I get the best watches this way. Joking. As far as you know. It's too bad it's cracked." Dr. Whale replied.

"I thought you would be scrubbing in by now." David said.

"Yeah. Yeah, I'm going to do that." Dr. Whale replied.

"Arm okay?" David asked.

"I'm not drunk." Dr. Whale replied.

"Okay, just… Let's save this guy, alright? I don't care what he saw. We don't let go of people." I said.

David agreed with me and we walked away after that.

"Are you okay?" David asked me.

"I'm fine, I think. I just can't help but think about Belle. She's innocent in all of this, and she doesn't remember anything." I replied.

David hugged me and I was thankful because I really needed that hug.

"Belle will be fine. We will help her remember who she is." David said.

"Thanks, dad. I really needed that." I said.

David gave me a funny look.

"What?" I asked.

"You called me dad." David replied.

"Yeah, well, it's time that I start calling you that." I said.

David smiled and hugged me again. I laughed and hugged him back. We then joined the others in the lobby and waited to hear news about Greg.

"Same person again." Leroy said as Greg's phone went off.

" 'Her'. Cute." I said.

"Probably a girlfriend." David said.

"We could answer it- just let her know he's okay." Mary Margaret said.

"He's not okay." Emma said.

"He's alive. We could let her know he's alive." Ruby said.

"Nah. The police could trace it here instantly." David said.

"She can activate the find your phone thing without us picking it up at all." I said.

The phone finally stopped vibrating and we all took a breath.

"That settles that." Leroy said.

"Oh, my nerves can't take this. Is the surgery almost over?" Mary Margaret asked.

"I… I think it takes…" Emma trailed off as a man entered the waiting room, scanned the room, and went to leave.

"Whoa. Whoa. Wait. Wait. Any news?" David asked the guy.

"No. I was just looking for the doctor." the guy replied.

"He's not in the OR?" Ruby asked.

"He never came in." the guy replied.

"Then page him." Emma said.

"He was not looking so good earlier." I said.

The guy called Dr. Whale and we heard a pager going off.

"He's here." Mary Margaret said as we heard a pager going off.

Emma went to the laundry basket full of dirty scrubs, dug through it, and found Dr. Whale's lab coat with his pager in it.

"No, but his pager is. He's gone." Emma said.

"Got the scent?" David asked Ruby.

"Boozy." Ruby replied.

"Just find him and bring him back. We'll watch Hook and figure out options if Whale doesn't come back." Emma said.

"Maybe Doc can do it." Mary Margaret said.

"Surgery? No." Leroy said.

"Maybe he didn't even run. Maybe Cora grabbed him for some reason." Mary Margaret said.

Really? I get Cora's in town, but why would she kidnap every other person that we know?

"I don't think so. He's been in a rough place since he had brought Regina's fiance back to life." David replied.

"Daniel?" Mary Margaret asked.

"Back to life?" Emma and I asked together.

"And had his arm ripped off and put back on." David added.

"Cool." Leroy said.

"Wait. Daniel came back?" Mary Margaret asked.

"Like some kind of Frankenstein?" I asked.

"That's Whale. The doctor. And Daniel was his-" David started.

"What went on here while we were gone?" Mary Margaret interrupted.

"Ruby, get going. Bring back… Dr. Frankenstein." Emma said before Ruby left.

"We're going to send this guy back home with bolts in his neck." Emma said.

"She'll find him." Mary Margaret assured us.

"Yeah, but what kind of state is he going to be in?" I asked.

A while later, Dr. Whale and Ruby return.

"You're back." Mary Margaret said.

"Finally." Emma said.

"I don't know why everyone's so worried. I was just stretching my legs. Now I'm going to go do this thing." Dr. Whale said before going to help Greg.

"He's going to make it?" David asked Dr. Whale as he returned from doing the surgery.

"He's got some recuperating ahead of him- a few weeks, maybe- but yes. He's going to live." Dr. Whale replied.

"Thank goodness." Mary Margaret said.

"Or me." Dr. Whale said being funny.

"Telling you right now, this will come to no good." Leroy said.

"Quiet, Leroy." I said.

"I want to talk to him." Emma said.

"He's waking up now." Dr. Whale said.

"Already?" Ruby asked.

"I waited a couple of hours to tell you in case he, you know, keeled over. But so far, so good." Dr. Whale replied.

"Alright, then." Mary Margaret said.

"Well, let's talk to him." David said.

"We're not talking to him as a group. We're not a group Sheriff." Emma said.

"But, we've been doing this together." Mary Margaret argued.

"We're trying to convince this guy this place is normal. In a normal town, the Sheriff goes in and asked a few questions. She doesn't bring her parents in with her." Emma explained.

"That's probably true." David said.

"We'll be right here, then." Mary Margaret said.

Emma nodded for me to follow her because she knew that a Sheriff would have a detective with her. We entered the room, and I hope he doesn't remember anything.

"Nurse?" Greg asked.

"Sheriff Swan and Detective Evans, actually." Emma replied.

"I'm thirsty." Greg said.

I went and gave him a glass of water, and Emma sat a bag down.

"I have your personal effects. I'm just going to put them here, okay? So, Mr. Mendell, I wanted to talk to you about the accident." Emma said.

"Did I hit somebody? Oh, my God, I hit someone. Is he okay?" Greg questioned.

"Don't worry about him. I mean, the… the damage was pretty minor." I said.

"Oh, thank God." Greg sighed.

"But, I do need you to state what happened in your own words- what you did, what you saw." Emma said.

"Well, I… I didn't see anything." Greg said.

"Well, you were driving." I said.

"Yeah, I mean… I saw the road, of course." Greg said.

"I just think I might be able to put your mind at ease. There might be… an explanation if you saw-" Emma was explaining.

"I was texting." Greg interrupted.

"Oh." Emma and I said together.

"I looked down, just for a second. And when I looked back up, he was… He was right there. And he was too close to avoid, but I… I know that it's not legal in Maine." Greg said.

"It's okay. I'm just glad that you… were honest with us." I said.

"So, no charges?" Greg asked.

"No. No charges. I will let you go with a warning this time." Emma replied.

"Thank you. So when… when can I head home?" Greg asked.

"As soon as the doctor clears you. We don't want to keep you." Emma replied.

We then left the room and gave the news to the others.

"He didn't see nothing?" Leroy asked.

"Free and clear." I replied.

"Oh, good." Mary Margaret said.

"Now maybe, things can calm down for ten minutes and we can catch our breath." David said.

We finally headed home, well, I went with Emma, Mary Margaret, and David back to Mary Margaret's apartment. As we got into the kitchen, Henry came down the stairs.

"You were out all night. Where were you? Granny wouldn't tell me anything. Did I miss it all?" Henry asked.

"Cereal okay?" David asked me and Emma.

"Yeah." Emma replied for us.

"Rumplestiltskin and Captain Hook had a fight and someone got hurt." Mary Margaret replied to Henry.

"We weren't sure if Dr. Frankenstein could fix him, but he did." I added.

"Doctor? Oh… that's who Whale is." Henry said.

"Yeah, but without the neck bolts." Emma said.

"The monster had the bolts, not the doctor." Henry told Emma.

"Right, but either way, some of us having known him… it's weird." Emma said.

"It's not weird. We're past it. We were cursed." Mary Margaret said.

"What are you talking about?" Henry asked.

"Nothing." David said as he placed cereal bowls in front of Emma and Henry.

"Wait." Henry said.

"Really, it's nothing." Mary Margaret said as she handed me my cereal.

Henry went to get his book and brought it back to us.

"Frankenstein isn't in here. It's not even a fairy tale. That means it comes from another land with different stories." Henry said.

"Eat. I really want to go to bed." Emma told Henry as she placed the cereal bowl on his book for him to eat.

"If the curse went to places with other stories, then who knows who else is in town." Henry said.

There was a knock on the door. Emma went to answer it, but Gold let himself in.

"Gold. We've all had a long night." Emma said.

"You remember that favor you owe me, Miss Swan?" Gold asked.

"Yeah." Emma replied.

"I'm cashing it in." Gold said.

"It's not… a good…" Emma said.

"You do honor your agreements, don't you? I need to find someone, so we're leaving today. Pack your bag." Gold said.

"Leaving?" Mary Margaret asked.

"W-where?" Henry asked as he joined Emma.

"She's not going without me." I said as I joined them.

"Wait. Find someone? Who?" Emma asked.

David had joined us by now.

"My son. It has to be today, because every minute I'm here, is a minute closer to me killing Hook. So it's really best for all concerned if I leave, and you're going to come with me. You're also more than welcome to join, Miss Evans. Oh, and, um, we have a long history. So know this, and know it to be true. If any harm comes to Belle while I'm gone, I'm killing all of you. I'll see you at noon." Gold said before leaving.

Emma hugged Henry tight to her, I hugged both Emma and Henry to me, and David made sure all three of us were close to him. I'm not letting Emma go off with Gold by herself. She knows that too, so it looks like both of us are leaving once again.
