Sunday, February 14, 2016 - Historical Event - A Day in the History of Humanity and Earth. It was Valentine's Day in which Rorschach of Earth married Queen Maxima of Almerac. The first recorded (public) case of a human marrying an extraterrestrial from another world. This was the day Cognito Inc united two worlds and ushered in a new era.

This was also the day of Valentine War. The extraterrestrial tyrant Brainiac attempted to invade Earth only to be confronted by the forces of Cognito. Brainiac's drones were destroyed by Cognito's own mechanical soldiers and when Brainiac enslaved one million innocent people as Scarab-themed cybernetic warriors Rorschach freed them. In the end, Brainiac's Armada was burnt from the universe by brilliant streaks of light and power.

Cognito Inc is the world's most influential and richest corporation due to its access to the Universe's Smartest Sentient - Doctor Genus and unlimited resources. They have the solutions to any problem and can implement those solutions no matter the cost. From vital resources to entertainment and luxury goods they dominate the world and science fiction lovers either love them as the Future or fear them as the future Megacorporation rulers of Earth. Even superheroes have become a product to Cognito, heroes with no fear of damaging their civilian lives because they get paid for being heroes.

The Cognito Inc Division with the greatest workload is the Psychiatric Division. It's a rapidly changing world and many of its people are not adapting well to the changes. There are many groups that see superpowered beings as resources, but while they understand power, they have no understanding of the human mind and heart.

Cadmus Alpha was the beginning. On the surface - Cadmus Labs was a simple genetics research laboratory in Washington, D.C., but it was a research facility of The Light. It has in these labs that the Genomorphs were first created. The result was former slaves searching to live free, a young archer traumatized by the loss of his arm and years of his life, his clone dealing with an identity crisis, and two clones of Superman – one driven insane by imperfect methods and one questioning his purpose in life and suffering from anger issues.

Cadmus Beta was even worse than Alpha. Not only did they produce even more Genomorphs, they had clones of soldiers and scientists with fake memories. Clones who were left questioning everything. It also produced a monster with the mind of a person from another world. The Isekai genre is not healthy as your stripped from everything you know.

Halloween Event was when the Lord of Chaos Klarion cast a spell that transformed people into their costumes. Many people died during this Event and its aftermath, while the survivors were left irreversibly changed. Even those that didn't gain powers were still left with the memories of their costumes. This left victims in confused in the best cases to completely insane in the worst cases. In some cases, the original person was subsumed leaving only the memories and personality of the costume.

The Day of the Dragons was when the war criminal Shiro Ito used magic to summon corrupted dragons to annihilate the major cities of China. The Dragon King was willing to sacrifice most of Asian to obtain the key to his godhood, only to be killed by Rorschach's team. Not only were their millions dealing with the death, pain and trauma of the cataclysm, some people began to gain supernatural abilities. Rorschach's team also found even more clones in Dragon King's base that had to deal with the real world.

The fragments of the Dragons triggered the Rise of the Elementals. At first the pollen from Flowering Wood Dragon triggered the awakening of plant based metahumans, connected to the elemental plane of plants known as the Green. Then to restore the balance, came the animal shifters and controllers of the Red, the water manipulators of the Clear, the fire manipulators of the Burn, the earth manipulators of the Melt, the air manipulators of the White, the fungal beings of the Grey, the microbe manipulators of the Divided, and the undead beings of the Black. Every one of these awakening causing the metahuman to question themselves and their purpose in the world.

The scientists of Cadmus Upsilon proved they could screw up things worse than their predecessors. They kidnapped a young SPB who had the ability to pull items from the worlds of television. They then used him to kidnap over ninety-five hundred subjects from various worlds. Thousands of heroes and villains forever cut off from their friends, families, and their responsibilities. A Hero that can no longer protect those they are about is a broken hero and the Spider-people served as living proof. This new group resulted in the most suicides!

The Cyberverse was born when the Rhyme of the Metal (the leaders of a young elemental plane of artificial life) fused their realm with Cognito's Computers and created a virtual universe. The violent birth of this virtual universe pulled in other digital worlds from many other universes. These ranged from mere fragments to Entire PLANETS complete with plants, animals, and sentient sapient humanoid inhabitants! So, you have people not only severed from their mundane lives but trapped in their player characters.

There are Refugees from other universes. They are the result of Ash Grey's journey into 42 foreign universes to destroy a cosmic horror and the resulting rewards for his victory. Cyanea is a Gargoyle Priestess of Atlantis who was trapped in stone for thousands of years and followed Ash back to his world to repay him for releasing her. April O'Neal is the sole survivor of her dead world, a world she destroyed while under the influence of otherworldly horrors. Daniya Fenton lost her entire world to one of the infamous Events and Hakudōshi is the immortal fragment of a Demon King, now both are being raised as the children of Ash and his wives.

Now the last event is the Brainiac Beetles. One million of Earth's population was forcibly and painfully converted into cybernetic warriors by the alien conqueror Brainiac. They were trapped inside their own bodies as their bodies attacked other innocent people and tried to cause destruction of Earth's defenses. Their minds were freed from Brainiac's control, but they were still left forever altered down to a molecular level.

"1 million Brainiac Beetles (modified Scarab) were freed and converted into technorganic beings. 535,058 remained on Earth to defend their homes or too traumatized to continue to fight. 464,842 of the insect themed SPBs fought against Brainiacs invasion with 475 dying during the battle (mostly due to inexperience). As a result, there are 999,425 Scarab survivors on Earth. Just under 0.02% of Humanity is now techno organic SPB." says one scientist, giving his report to the doctors.

"The majority of the Scarab hosts are young and due to their new techno-organic nature, they can reproduce. This means children born with the ability to transform like their parents." adds his aid, "We are working with the Technoformers since their biology is the most similar."

"While the majority of the Scarabs are adults, there is a huge number of teenagers and rare cases of children. It's believed that Brainiac believed correctly that the League would be reluctant to fight innocent children." says the scientist.

"There are approximately 106,000 licensed psychologists in the United States, distributed unevenly. Cognito snagged a huge number of them, but even all of them working together couldn't handle nearly a million superpowered beings, even if every one of them was licensed for metahuman patients." says the head of psychology.

Metahuman psychology is a specialized form of psychology, much like bomb disposal is for police. While mundane patients can become violent and need to be restrained, SPBs can be far more dangerous. The last things this world needs are a "Homelander" or a "Superboy-Prime" situation.

"Cognito Inc has been so stressed by the sheer number of patients they have started to create therapy AI and bioroids to act as Psychiatric Doctors/Psychologists."

"The New MHC Programs have passed the time-compressed testing and are being implemented."

Therapy AI are advanced artificial intelligence programs meant to help those using the Amusphere and Cognito's other virtual products. Yui, also known as «Yui-MHCP001» (Mental Health Counseling Program 001) from the world of Sword Art Online was the basis for the program. She was originally designed to help Players but grew to become the surrogate daughter of famed Players Kirito and Asuna. Doctor Genus' upgraded programs not only monitor the health of all Amusphere users but can act as therapists to supplement the existing ones.

"The bioroid population are working hard to stabilize the population." says one doctor, "The ethics of creating artificial people just stabilize society."

"We don't want the natural born rampaging and we all received happy lives." says a young bioroid leader.

"You do know all those memories are fake."

"Virtual and time-compressed, but not fake. Growing up in a virtual world with a sense of purpose isn't a bad thing. You natural-borne get caught up in your emotions and illusions of independence, but for us bioroids we are doing what we love knowing we were born to do it better than anyone."

"You don't have to be smug about it."

"Pride in our creation is one of few prides we have."

Bioroids or biological androids are bio-engineered constructs similar to clones but deviating further from simple modification. Cognito Inc created them to help others and while being mostly human, their negative emotions are far duller than humans (meaning while they can be sad or mad, they can't become depressed or enraged). They also possess regenerative abilities to keep their bodies at peak performance and empathic abilities that allow them to sense the emotions of others. Ash Grey named them the Appleseeds after the anime series that also featured Bioroids meant to help humanity.

"Doctor Genus created a new generation of Medical Robot specifically for Beetles. While the normal ones could get easily melted or punctured by the arsenals of the Bugs, the new ones are actually tough."

Medical Robots patrol the halls of Psych Division. They may resemble soft marshmallow sculptures, but these units are able to handle superpowered beings including ones as powerful as Spider-Man without causing any physical harm. They exist to protect and maintain the mental and physical health of their patients and obey the orders of their commanding doctors.

Cognito Inc's most successful form of therapy is memory manipulation technology. Cognito Psych can copy and display memories in a virtual environment, allowing patients to face memories with detachment. In more extreme cases, this technology can be used to sever the emotional connections to memories negating the stress caused by them. In some cases, traumatic memories can be erased completely.

President Barack Obama, 44th president of the United States since 2009, sits in his office surrounded by advisors and important government officials. Today, they are having a meeting and the topic of the meeting – Cognito Inc. Last week was when they made history and scared the crap out of them.

"We have been running an analyze on the beams used to annihilate the enemy armada and we theorize they used oscillating gravity waves through multiple dimensions to produce a high energy reaction in normal space." says the scientist

"Get to the point." says General Lane.

"One of those beams had more destructive energy than the entire world's nuclear arsenal by magnitudes. It was equivalent to a supernova compressed into a narrow beam."

"I would say Overkill, but Rorschach warned us about the other Universes. The ones that had versions of Superman and Flash that could move faster than light and deliver punches with the relativistic mass of a white dwarf star." says President Obama, "If this Brainiac came from one of those comic book universes, then reducing the armada to plasma was probably the best choice."

"This event will definitely attract attention from the other races." says one politician, "Earth has proven while a little mudball in the boonies of the universe, we are armed to the teeth. Hopefully, this will scare any would be aggressors."

"It could also attract more extraterrestrials wanting to form an alliance." says another politician.

There is a knock at the door and another government agent walks in holding a computer tablet.

"What is it?"

"The Almanac has been updated, Sir." says Agent Smith, "It now lists human-descended extraterrestrials."

"Human-descended? You mean people descended from those taken from Earth by extraterrestrials!?"

"Yes, Sir. For example, there is a planet called Starhaven. It's a world colonized by Native American people abducted from Earth by an unknown alien race in the 13th Century. They appear to be descendants of Ancestral Puebloans, the Anasazi, but they had their metagenes awoken."

The Agent hands the tablet to the President, which shows a beautiful Native American woman with feathery wings that make her look Angelic.

"Lord almighty!" says General Lane, "I can only imagine how the New Mexico crowd will react."

"Starhaven is interested in connecting with the world of their ancestors and Cognito opened negotiations to have a Space Bridge built on their world."

"First, they are beginning terraforming Earth's first earth-built colony world, now they are connecting to planets with earth-descended populations. Is Cognito trying to build a 'Federation of Planets'?"

"What are the others?"

"Bgztlians – Also known as the Phantom Tribe. Their home world Bgztl exists in another dimension and their exposure to the dimensional energies caused them to evolve the ability dimensional phase shift. They can become intangible, not by altering their density like a Martian, but by shifting themselves into a different dimension."

"An entire race of humans that can walk through walls..." says one politician.

"They apparently developed a martial art based on their phasing." says General Lane reading trivia since it's about combat, "They avoid attacks to lure in opponents, phase through attacks to disrupt them, and then deliver blows to the internal organs ignoring armor, flesh, and bone."

"They recently faced a crisis when a neighboring dimension was annihilated from existence, creating a shockwave that forced the planet Bgztl into normal space. This left them in a vulnerable position and Cognito offered to help them."

"Carggites – Planet Cargg was colonized by meta-positive humans and the dominant ability is bio-fission. They can split themselves into multiple copies, usually three, to perform multiple tasks and then re-fuse to combine their resources. They can even heal themselves because any damage received by one not shared with all three is negated when they combine."

"Replication is a rare power on Earth." says the scientist, "It sounds fascinating."

"Don't start, egghead. We still have work to do." says the General.

"Tharrians – The Planet Thar is a harsh desert world with considerable mineral resources. Originally, human workers required environmental technologies just to survive there, but the meta-gene allowed them to develop cryokinetic based abilities. Now able to survive without their oppressors they rebelled and eventually formed their own civilization."

"If his planet is a hot desert, why is he dressed in ski suit?"

"Their ice powers negate the effects of the desert heat, but so many of them living together creates areas of artic level cold. Unlike some of Earth's metahumans they are not completely immune to the extreme cold."

"Planet Thar made a deal with Cognito Inc. Cognito would offer weather control technology to counter the planet's worsening environmental conditions. In return Earth would gain access to the planet's considerable mineral resources."

"Earth. Not just Cognito?"

"Cognito has Unlimited Resources. They don't need anything from anyone. I'm guessing they are giving us access because they don't want us to become Overly Dependent on them."

"Alien Kansas?"

"Yes."

"Winathians – The Planet Winath is a famous agrarian planet known for its massive farms and terrifying storms. The planet has massive electrical storms that inhibit technological development and numerous native fauna that use bioelectricity. This has resulted in humans developing a resistance to electricity. Occasionally, exposure to high levels of electricity awakens as meta-ability to manipulate electricity and occasionally other forms of plasma and electromagnetic phenomenon."

"Similar to Black Lightning and Livewire?" says President Obama, "What kind of native fauna?"

He clicks an icon, and it shows the photo of a Winathian lightning beast. A quadrupedal monster with superficially lupine features. It has highly developed limbs, sharp fangs and claws. Its forelegs are extremely powerful and look like they can kill prey in one brutal blow. What's most interesting is numerous flat spikes on its back that contain a visible electrical charge.

"We have to deal with escaped farm animals and wild dogs, they have to deal with lightning dragon wolf monsters!?"

"Farm life doesn't make weak boys" says one advisor with a sense of pride. He's originally from a farm in Kansas, so he knows farm life. He only became involved in politics because businessmen and politicians wouldn't stop sticking their nose into his family's business. He then learned he was good at tossing words arounds as he was tossing haybales.

"Cognito Farms with all those Green metas can produce an amazing amount of food. Working together with this agrarian planet, Winathian could supply food for dozens of worlds. The Space Bridges also allow food to be transported in massive amounts bypassing the costs of space travel."

"Zwenties – The Planet Zwen is a harsh world, barren on the surface and having a very long day/night cycle. The humans in this world adapted and developed meta-abilities connected to the Earth. Their primary ability is the ability to transform into living stone to avoid injury from extreme temperatures and falling rocks. They can even use this ability to hibernate for long periods when water and resources are scarce."

"Literally Stone People. There has been a rise of metahumans ever since the Day of the Dragons and some of Earth-based ones are similar."

"The Children of the Gaea." comments one advisor.

There are some grimaces. The politicians and scientists vaguely understand that the new generation of metahumans are connected to other dimensions, elemental planes connected to certain elements or forms of life. What makes them uncomfortable is the new religious groups that are also appearing.

The Green Way, the Heart of the Wild, the Church of the Clear, the Black Cult, The Children of the Gaea, Pure Sky, Flame Dancers, and many others. There is even an online group called the Code Masters that claims the Cyberverse is an ascension. What's crazier is it's growing fast and already has more members than Scientology.

"So, what does their planet bring to the table?"

"Mineral and energy resources. The planet is richer in heavier metals than Thar, including minerals used as fuel sources by various races." says the scientist, "I should note that their stone transformation not only protects them from heat and radiation, but also purges their bodies of radioactive particles."

"So, what did Cognito offer them?"

"Food, water, medicine, access to other non-radioactive worlds, etc." says the scientist, "They also offered Neutron Jammers."

"Neutron Jammers?"

"It's a device that once activated generates a field that inhibits free neutron motion, thereby suppressing nuclear fission. I have no idea how Cognito could create such a device." says the scientist.

"How would it effect one of our nuclear missiles?" asks General Lane.

"The missile would still explode, but only with the force of explosives. It would be like a dirty bomb scattering nuclear material instead of causing the fission or fusion reaction."

"So, Doctor Genus not only has more firepower than world's nuclear arsenal, but he could also shut down the entire world's nuclear arsenal with the push of a button."

"It's possible the only reason he hasn't is because it would also shut down all 440 nuclear power plants along with all nuclear-powered vehicles and devices."

The next photo raises some eyes as it's a very beautiful woman in a revealing outfit like a dancer. She has blue eyes, blue skin, and long dark purple hair. In the shadows is a male dressed in dark robes including a turban and face mask.

"She looks like a slave girl from one of those B Grade Science Fiction movies!"

"Talokites are a race of blue-skinned purple-haired humanoids from the Talok system. They are a warrior culture from a desert world with strong religious beliefs. The majority live in large advance cities while the rest live in religiously fanatically nomadic tribes. They also share similarities with middle eastern cultures."

"What's special about blue-skinned Arabians?"

"What makes this race unique is they possess a planetary champion – a very important figure in their culture and religion that maintains the peace and prosperity of their world. This champion is chosen from a Maltor family. Through a ancient ritual granted a connection to Shadowlands which allows them to manipulate darkness to various levels including teleportation, intangibility, and create energy constructs from the darkness."

"So, what's the situation?"

"They are interested in form an alliance with Earth, or should I say with Cognito, because the current Queen of the Shadowlands is on Earth."

"How is the Queen of another dimension on Earth?"

"She may be supreme ruler of the Shadowlands, but she is not an elemental. She exists as a living person; she just possesses the strongest shadow and darkness manipulating powers in the known universe. The strongest leads in the shadows."

"Do we know her identity?" asks President Obama. While homo magi are secretive, governments due tend to know the names of major figures because they are ones that interact with the "mundane" world.

"We believe she is a Hong Kong immigrant Jade Chan who appeared after the Dragons. She's currently married to Ash Grey – Knight Commander of Atlantean Order of Megaladon, member of Cognito's SPB division, and Best Man at Rorschach and Maxima's wedding. "

"According to our records, Ash Grey is married to six women – Tamaranean Princesses Koriand'r and Komand'r, Rachel Roth or Raven of Azarath, Jade Chan, and twins Prisilla and Maximilla Kitaen of New Orleans."

"Is that legal?"

"It is under Atlantean and Almeracan law."

"What's Azarath?"

"Azarathians are homo magi that moved to an interdimensional realm Azarath that existed between the planes of known reality. This was done under the command of the spiritual leader Azar. Unfortunately, their spiritual refinement was flawed and resulted in the birth of incredibly powerful demon and celestial conqueror Trigon." says a black suited agent, "Raven is Trigon's daughter by a human cultist who immigrated to Azarath. The demon princess resisted her father, ended up on another planet, and was captured by sadistic extraterrestrial mad scientists known as Psions. The damaged ship was transported to Earth, and she was in a facility until she was rescued by her future husband."

"How do you know this stuff?"

"I asked. Ash Grey doesn't consider this information worth keeping a secret. He doesn't fear the reaction of the public or governments." says the agent, "He also has a philosophy – knowledge is power, power is responsibility, he shares his knowledge to set himself free."

"Guess he's not one for responsibility."

"Strange considering, he adopted two kids."

The Meeting continues for hours. With discussions of almost every extraterrestrial species that has had contact with Earth or will have contact.

They talked about the Appellaxians – The extraterrestrial energy beings that invaded in February 2003, which resulted in the birth of the Justice League. It was later revealed that the Appelaxians were using Earth to determine their next ruler, as the one to conquer the planet would gain the throne of Appelax. Since none of the seven succeeded the home world entered a civil war. Cognito's barriers also make it impossible to retest on Earth.

They talked about Barrions, Changralynians, Dryad, and Vulxans – which are all silicon-based lifeforms. Oddly enough, the topic was what is considered gourmet food to silicon sentients is considered indigestible at best to lethal poison at worst to carbon-based life forms. Cognito somehow managed to form a good relationship with those races because one of their employees could enjoy their food.

They talked for a very long period about Coluans. The Coluan race are a green-skinned humanoid race with the average member having a "level 8" intelligence, far higher than humans. In this universe, they don't interact with primitive races, the same way award-winning scientists wouldn't spend their time talking to kindergarteners. They don't interact with many races as the only races smart enough to interact with them are either isolationists, conquerors, or distant themselves much like they do. In fact, their most famous member the Collector of Worlds isn't a Coluan, but an advanced android made sixteen thousand years ago. The Collector was consumed by his other universe counterpart Brainiac and now the Coluans are interested in meeting Doctor Genus – the human who has surpassed the Twelfth Level.

They talked about the Controllers, Oans and Zamarons – They were originally the first sentient race to evolve in the universe, originally known as the Maltusians. They achieved immortality and split into various groups. One group became the Controllers intending to control the Universe. One group became an all-female race of extraterrestrial amazons that believe in the refinement of the body as well as the mind – The Zamarons. Finally, the Oans or "Guardians" as they call themselves came to believe they should enforce guard and enforce order in the universe. The Oans and Zamarons became light smiths, crafting the Green Lanterns and Star Sapphires after many, many mistakes.

They talked about the Citadelians – The conquerors of the Vega System composed of clone soldiers. They are nearly extinct after a biological weapon attack carried out by a resistance group. A resistance group that had been on Earth for some time before the attack.

They talked about the Psions - A sentient race created by the Oans, their males being the sadistic mad scientists of Vega System, not capable of empathy. They were also brought to near extinction by a similar biological weapon. The other races of Vega were quick to capitalize and help with the culling, even the females of the species want the male exterminated.

They talk about Rannians - an ancient race of technologically advanced humanoids. They are represented by Alanna Strange who married an Earthling Adam Strange who ended up on their planet back in 2012!

They talk about the Tamaraneans who married Ash Grey under Atlantean and Almeracan law. Ash Grey doesn't consider himself human, so it was Rorschach that was the first human publicly married to an extraterrestrial. Ash Grey is getting a lot of discussion because he has considerable political power if he flexes it.

They talked about the Thanagarians. The public does not seem to be aware that both Hawkman and Hawkwoman are aliens. Katar Hol and Shayera Thal are two Thanagarian police officers were stranded on Earth, became heroes, and joined the League in 2004. They married on Earth.

"When did Earth become the Universe's Wedding Service?"

His people were being exploited by neighboring planets." says the Agent, "Aliens being raised on Earth and occasionally interbreeding with humans have been occurring for centuries. Same Time.

The Guardians originated on a planet called Maltus. These evolved Maltusians later moved to Oa and named themselves Oans. It is used by the so-called Guardians of the Universe as the home base of the Green Lantern Corps.

The Oans have guarded the universe for millions of years, but they have made many, many mistakes in that length of time.

Ancient scientist Krona conducted an experiment to view the creation of universe and ended up damaging the universe as whole as a result. A crime that Oans have been attempting to atone for since then.

The Oans first attempt at creating a police force was cold emotionless robots known as the Manhunters (named after the warriors of Mars). These androids eventually went out of control, which resulted in an entire sector – Sector 666 – being annihilated. Literally, nearly all sentient life in 1/3600th of the Universe destroyed.

The Empire of Tears - a magic-dominant domain created from the Five Inversions, survivors of the Massacre of Sector 666 – rose to take revenge. This started the Oan war against magic, an attempt to replace all magic in the universe with cold hard science. This not only led to the destruction of the Empire of Tears, but the loss of magic for many worlds.

The Oans obsession with order had them make mistakes that led to the creation of the other Lantern corps. The Red Lanterns were founded by one of the Inversions – Atrocious. The Orange Lantern Larfleeze was selected by the Oans. The Yellow Lanterns are also known as Sinestro Lanterns as they were founded by former Green Lantern tyrant Sinestro. Blue Lanterns were founded by those hoping to change their ways. Indigo Tribe handles the worse criminals in Green Lantern History and the Violet Lanterns also known as Star Sapphires were created by the Zamaron cousins of the Oans.

Instead of realizing they needed to change their methods, they created Alpha Lanterns to police their own Green Lantern Corps. Elite Lanterns that had been merged with their power batteries and stripped of what made them people both social and emotional. Lanterns reduced to little more than machines in order to enforce the laws of Immortals who long since abandoned real emotions.

"The greatest problem with immortal beings is arrogance. They believe with their intelligence and experience they know the correct path. They lack the innovations and adaptability of younger races. This unwillingness to listen eventually leaves them to be rejected by their followers."

The Oans are currently sitting around a round table. The white-haired, blue-skinned dwarves are looking at the holographic image of "Doctor Genus – the smartest sentient in the universe and leader of Earth's Cognito Inc., who had more or less "initiated" (read: demanded) this little "pow-wow" as the Earthlings would've called it.

"I've been cleaning up a lot of your messes." says Doctor Genus.

"Which messes do you mean?" says Ganthet, one of the most prominent Guardians of the Universe. He is considerably less strict and by the book than the others, and more willing to show emotion. This is probably why he's the one that freely admits the Oans made mistakes.

"Absolute order is not possible. There is a balance to the universe. A balance of Order and Chaos that Earth has embraced."

Doctor Genus shows images of Alan Scott – Earth's First (Unofficial) Green Lantern- who during the battle with the ascended Dragon King was revealed to be the avatar of the Starheart. The Starheart being a stellar prison for all the magic in the universe that was captured during the Oan War on Magic.

"Magic will never be extinguished from the universe. Instead, magic will advance and develop with science. As the great writers once said, 'Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic' and 'any sufficiently advanced magic is indistinguishable from technology.'. While the necromantic magic of the Empire of Tears will never again violate the souls of the dead, even the realms of dead and living will grow closer."

Doctor Genus shows images of Manhunter androids. Most of them are destroyed, crumbled to dust, but there are several Manhunters that are now techno-organic humanoids with very emotional faces.

"Brainiac absorbed the Manhunters into his army and even granted them the ability to disrupt the constructs of your Lanterns. When I annihilated his forces, I also wiped out the Manhunters. Those machines were just waiting for a chance for 'revenge', but now they are dust." says Doctor Genus, "What's interesting is the infiltrators – the ones that hide in the populace of worlds and started cults against the Green Lanterns - ended up much like the Beetles. They have been converted into techno-organic beings possessing the full extent of humanoid emotion. Robots gain redemption. What an interesting development."

Doctor Genus shows images of Lantern Corps members on Earth, what shocks the Oans that still possess some emotions is there are members of every color. What shocks them even more is hybrid lanterns – ring bearers that possess more than one color.

"While you attempt to purge the emotions of universe to create a single sterile order, Earth is learning to balance those emotions. There are people that fit every color on our world, which is appropriate since this world houses the White Light of Creation."

Another shock goes through the crowd. There is more emotion in their hearts now than there has been in centuries. The Guardians now know that Doctor Genus has knowledge of one of their most-guarded secrets.

"While you Oans fear the War of Light, I created the Alliance of Light – The Chromia."

"I'm impressed." says Ganthet, "I always knew Earth had potential, but I never understood how much potential."

"I've also taken steps to make sure you don't make future mistakes."

"What do you mean?" asks one Oan next to Ganthet.

"The Third Army. The exceedingly stupid plan to convert the universe into emotionless flesh-constructs made in your own image. A result of you losing trust in your own Green Lanterns." says Doctor Genus mockingly, "I've put an end to that and all similar projects."

"How?" asks several Guardians.

"You've noticed a change to the universe. Perhaps you noticed a change to the local multiverse. When the changes were made, some laws were added to the universes. One absolute law is the Law of Life and Emotion - Only those possessing a complete emotional range can manipulate the light of emotional EM spectrum. This means Lanterns of any color that purge themselves of all other emotions will lose their abilities." says Doctor Genus, "That means to you emotionally dead blue leprechauns, your emotionally chaotic Lanterns will always be stronger than you single-minded idiots."

The Guardians collapse into their seats. They have been wondering why they have been losing power since Earth Date - October 12, 2015. Now they have the answer.

"I have also taken time to distribute this information to the Green Lantern Corps and to other Lantern Corps."

A bunch of images appear. The Guardians quickly realize how screwed they are.

A bunch of upset Green Lanterns appear to be glaring at the Oans. It's impressive with the diversity in species. There are humanoids of various colors, fungal plant-like creatures, energy beings in containment suits, and creatures that look Lovecraftian. The biggest Green Lantern is the living planet Mogo, so one might wonder how a planet can glare.

A laughing Atrocious surrounded by surviving Red Lanterns. These Red Lanterns can feel more than hatred, so their powers didn't fail and leave them to drop dead (a consequence of becoming a Red Lantern berserker). The Red Lanterns have bloody grins at the Oans being exposed as the arrogant deceivers they are. Some of them are even crying tears of blood at the relief.

The picture of confused Larfleeze surrounded by orange constructs is humorous. Larfleeze while not stupid, has never been one for intellectual pursuits. He has always been concerned with obtaining materialistic items and has trouble thinking clearly. The loss of his power might actually give him a clear mind.

There is a photo of a smirking Sinestro with the Sinestro Lanterns (those with fingers) giving a very Earth gesture – the middle finger. The only person Sinestro could have learned that gesture from is Hal Jordan. Sinestro knows the core of the Green Lantern Corp was weak and now he has absolute proof for his beliefs.

The Blue Lanterns look very positive and hopeful. It's like they are gesturing to the Oans to walk into the future with Hope instead of dread. The Blue Lanterns are always ones to look to the future with a positive outlook. They believe Cognito Inc has opened new paths for the Corps.

The ever-compassionate Indigo Tribe seems to approve of the need for understanding. Since every light user must be able to feel the full range of emotion, they can understand the feelings of others. That is the key to compassion. They don't say anything, but body language is readable.

The Violet Lanterns also seem happy as it means the ones with Green Lantern lovers will never lose their capacity to love due to Oan policies. Understanding the feelings of those you love is the key to any healthy relationship. All Lanterns have the capacity for love, so the future is bright.

"To an ever-changing amazing universe of Order and Chaos." says Doctor Genus raising a champaign glass, "Bye-bye Blue Leprechauns."

In the Earth Year of 2012, the Planet Almerac was destroyed by Brainiac. A brilliant green beam disintegrated every trace of flora, fauna, and technology on the planet, leaving a lifeless husk. Brainiac's attack stripped the planet of its very quintessence, leaving a world that could never again support life. The green beam that stripped data from everything and left behind only dust also had another effect. Even parts not touched by the beam are decaying at an accelerating rate.

Almerac's Doomsday was the worst day of Maxima's life. Now is the time of Rebirth.

Onboard the Outer Haven, orbiting the dead world, Rorschach stands by his beautiful wife. He works at a holographic computer which displays three images.

The first image is Dead Almerac. A lifeless dirty brown world with desert continents and empty blue-gray oceans. Smaller images show mountains of stone and mud flowing into the oceans and lakes, massive volcanic activity, and glowing cracks in the planet's surface.

"Old Almerac. It's been less than five years, but the planet has aged at least five eons. Brainiac stripped the planet of all data and quintessence, leaving nothing to hold the planet together. I scanned Brainiac's records, and the mechanical bastard didn't store anything beyond basic data. I couldn't resurrect anyone."

"What you're doing now is more than enough, love."

The second image is an overlapping translucent image of flowing polychromatic light. The complex web of light fibers form of a rotating sphere. Smaller images show balls of light with tails, the souls of the dead. There are also charts registering a thousand metaphysical readings.

"The meta layers of the planet. The Akashic Plane of knowledge contains the knowledge of your people. The psychic flows of the Astral Plane, which once contained your people's minds, and which still holds their spirits. The spiritual flows of the world containing the soul of the dead, some waiting for reincarnation, while others existing in vortexes known as afterlives."

"I'm literally gazing at the heavens." says Maxima with amazement. "Is this what you see all the time with your vast intellect? Do you see the universe with the eyes of a god?"

"It's a blessing and curse to see and understand everything. I can see beauty and horror in the truth of the universe. This is who I am." says Rorschach, "Eventually, these layers would detach from this dead world and disperse across the cosmos, merging with other worlds. What I intend to do is separate them from the old and attach them to the replacement."

The third image is a Living Almerac. This is the copy of Almerac that Rorschach generated in a micro-verse. A living healthy world he created for his wife. He used numerous scans to recreate everything that his wife lost to the extradimensional conqueror.

"So, you're not only returning the world to the living, but to the dead as well?"

"We are." says Rorschach causing a button to appear. "Together."

"Forever" says Maxima as they press the button together.

First, a brilliant beam shoots from Outer Haven's main emitter cannon. A ripple of white energy spreads across the planet, stopping the planet's orbit and rotation. The entire planet is time stopped and ready to be removed. A stream of black energy spirals down the white beam and hits the planet causing a pale blue ripple to spread across the planet. As the ripple spreads, images of plants, animals, people, and strange creatures can be seen in the beam.

On board the ship, the computers speak.

"Planetary Time Lock is stable. Separation of planetary meta layers from material planet in progress. Dispersion of layers is prevented by metaphasic barriers."

The Outer Haven then fires a rippling black beam. It's a strange beam as it looks like a black space filled with white stars and nebula twisted into beam. The distorted beam strikes the planet and a pure darkness spread across the planet, turning it an impossible black that makes it impossible to see the planet's third dimension.

"Dimensional shift in progress."

Then a brilliant explosion of light appears and the blinding light ripples across the planet to reveal Living Almerac, free of the micro-verse and now in Dead Almerac's place. The space beam disconnects, and the spiral beam reverses its rotation.

"Planetary Meta-Layer Fusion in progress. Planetary Time Lock is now being removed."

The beam disengages and the Living Almerac begins to rotate and orbit like the dead original.

There are alarms going off on Outer Haven and Queen Maxima turns to her husband.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing is wrong. It's the Elemental Planes. They were disconnecting from a dead world and now they are suddenly connected to a vibrant living world. It's causing a little power surge."

When Rorschach created a new version of Almerac for his wife, he had the sense to install Space Bridges on the planet. He even tested them using Space Bridges on other sterile worlds inside the micro-verse. This way when he brought it into the true universe, he was able to connect it to the current Space Bridge network. This would allow Almeracians and others to travel to and from the new planet with ease.

He was enjoying his Honeymoon when he learned what the "power surge" from the Elemental Planes did. There are now ten new Meta-Almeraci with elemental planar powers

Meta Testing Area Four is called the "The Danger Room" after the X-Men training facility. It's a massive chamber with advance solid-light holographic technology and numerous robots used to test the dangerous powers of superpowered beings.

Currently, a group of Cognito Scientists are watching the "Planar Paladins" test their powers.

Green Paladin– A tall, athletic Amazonian woman with a very beautiful face and impressive breasts. She looks like the kind of warrior beauty that would be in 80s pinup comics. She has green eyes with black sclera, dark olive skin with vine-like green markings, and long flowing hair that's many shades of green. She also has dark green lips, dark green nails, and slightly pointed ears. She is dressed in tight green/gold bodysuit that heightens her beauty.

She raises an arm and it transforms into a mass of green vines with sharp thorns that she manipulates like an expert whipmaster. She then pulls the mass of vines back into a facsimile of a humanoid arm, growing a blue rose between her fingers. Her arm returns to flesh and bone, but the thorny blue rose remains between her fingers.

"Plant Mimicry. She is able to transform any part of her body into any form of plant and manipulate it, even generate plant products without any loss of mass. "

"Make sure we get a analyze of that flower."

Red Paladin– A exceptionally tall and very Muscular Almeraci male with a strong facial feature. He has the look of a fierce warrior or legendary hunter. He has blood red eyes with black sclera, dark red skin with black markings resembling animal stripes on the sides of his face and arms, and short spiky red-black hair with a goatee. He also has sharp teeth, pointed ears, claws instead of nails, and small horns. He's dressed in sleeveless dark brown leather similar to Ash Grey's own outfit.

He transforms his arm into the muscular furry arm of a mammalian creature with long sharp claws, then a thick scaley reptilian arm, then an insectoid arm with a mantis scythe blade, then a massive feathery avian wing, then a giant aquatic fin with venomous spines, then a mass of tentacles with barbed suckers, and finally back to his original arm. It is notable that the color never changed – fur, scales, exoskeleton, feathers, etc. are Red.

"Animal mimicry. He can transform himself into any animal he has physically touched. He can transform completely or become a humanoid hybrid. He can limit the transformation to a limb instead of his entire body. He can even become a chimeric fusion of multiple animals!"

"Make sure to take samples of venom and other secretions. Complete chemical analyze."

Clear Paladin– A tall, lean small-breasted Almeraci woman with the build of a swimmer. She looks like an Olympic Swimmer ready to win the Gold. She would also win the Platinum if they had such a metal. She has silver-gray eyes with black sclera, tan skin with pale markings that resemble water tattoos, and short dark blue hair. She also has gills on her neck like an Atlantean. She is dressed in a dark blue/black Atlantean swimsuit with a silver sash around her waist.

She transforms completely into clear water, leaving her swimsuit on a statue of water. She skates across the room, fires high pressure jets of water, turning her arms into blades of water that cut like steel, even shooting water bullets and creating shards of ice as projectiles. She then reverts to normal and adjusts her swimsuit.

"Water Mimicry. She can transform her body completely into water. She can manipulate that water to the point of releasing water without losing mass or becoming dehydrated. She can even manipulate the temperature of water to create ice."

"Also test if she can make steam blasts."

Grey Paladin– A very tall, curvaceous and large breasted Almeraci woman with the face of aristocratic beauty. She has gray eyes with black sclera, pale flawless kin, and thick ink-black hair done in a classic shoulder-length style. She looks a lot like Lady Alcina Dimitrescu from Resident Evil: Village. She is dressed in a classic white dress with black shoes, black gloves, and a wide-rim hat.

She transforms completely into a cloud of gray spores, including her clothing. She flies around the room, then appears in her sexy form next to a pile of construction materials. She picks up a very large brick in her hand, which crumbles to dust in her grip.

"Fungal physiology. She can transform into a cloud of fungal spores which grants elemental intangibility. It's a simulation of intangible instead of true intangibility like phase shifting or density shifting. She can also generate poisons and decay physical structures."

"Have a Mycologist run a full analyze on the spore samples."

Divided Paladin – A tall, lean, athletic Almeraci male with the face of an attractive teenage. The boy has heterochromia with one eye being pale green and the other being dark blue, both with black sclera. His pale skin has numerous blue, green, white, and black markings that resemble chaotic tattoos on his arms. His hair is short spiky mess of blue green. He's dressed in Earthling clothing with a shirt, pants, sneakers, and jacket – but all mixtures of blue and green.

He stretches his limbs, displaying his impressive elastic abilities, and grabs a brick. He decomposes and absorbs the brick into his body before pushing out a scale figurine of the Grey Paladin The woman smiles at the boy's artistic skill causing the boy to blush. The boy then splits himself into clones of himself, doing separate tasks, before refusing to be a single person.

"His body cells are able to survive and operate independently of each other. He's essentially a colonial organism in humanoid form capable of shapeshifting in various forms. Cells can analyze, decompose, and reassemble physical matter. He's limited to the mass and molecular composition of the matter but he's like a 3D Printer"

"He can also split himself into multiple bodies that can perform multiple tasks but possess the same mind. He must have impressive multitasking abilities. Have him do some academic tests."

Black Paladin– Unlike the other Almeraci, he looks very little like his original self. He's a very tall, very thin humanoid whose body is composed of black ribbons, which makes him look like a cross between an Egyptian mummy and leather bondage gear. His face is a white mask with solid black eyes and long black hair. He also wears hooded black coat that resembles a death shroud.

He transforms into a black ghost form that moves around the room. He picks up an apple off a plate and it rots in his hand, not resembling an apple in less than ten seconds.

"A Phantom of Death. I'm not getting close to this one."

"You lost the coin toss."

"Fuck you. Get a robot to do it."

Burn Paladin– An athletic Almeraci teen beauty of average height and a dancer's build. She has blue eyes with black sclera, dark tan skin with black flame markings, and long flowing red and black hair reaching midback. She is dressed in a red shirt, black shorts, and red/black sneakers with a red/black jacket decorated with flames. She is also wearing gold bracelets.

She transforms into a humanoid composed of burning plasma and demonstrates her fire manipulation powers. She throws fireballs, shoots streams of fire, and even generates weapons composed of fiery plasma. One of them suspiciously looks like a lightsaber. There is a problem when she reverts, as only her bracelets survived the transformation. One of the scientists quickly gives her, her lab coat.

"We should have realized she didn't have specialized clothing."

"Many of the others don't have them. That's why most of them aren't doing full body transformations."

Melt Paladin – A short, curvy Almeraci woman with a body that looks like it was molded from teenage dreams of thick girls. She has gold eyes with black sclera, dark brown skin, and shoulder-length black micro dreads. She doesn't have markings on her skin, instead there are gemstones on the back of her hands and small ones in her earlobes like natural earrings. She wears a simple yellow shirt with brown overhauls and work boots, the clothing of a farmer.

She transforms one of her arms into solid gray stone that she can still move like flesh arm. She then transforms it into mud and stretches it out to grab objects, dripping some mud on the floor. She then transforms her arm into stone, then into a mass of hard translucent crystal. The crystal arm is able to launch crystals like blades shoot from a cannon. She then does something surprising; she generates a sphere of liquid metal that takes the form of a solid metal shovel.

"That is impressive. She can not only transform into any form of Earthen material but manipulate any form of Earthen material. She can even manipulate refine metal with enough skill to create tools!"

"Make sure to run tests on Glass and Concrete."

White Paladin – A small, young Almeraci girl who looks barely fourteen. The cute girl has white eyes with black sclera, pale skin with white tattoo-like markings, and short pure white hair. She also has a pair of large avian wings with pure white feathers that seem to glow in the light. The wings make her look like a hybrid of Almeracan and Thanagarian. She wears a white bodysuit with gold decoration that makes her look angelic in appearance.

She flies into the air doing a few aerial maneuvers that would get her high points at the Thanagarian military academy. She then transforms into a gaseous state moving from one point in the room to another point faster than sound before reverting to solid. She does this "air teleport" several times before using her wings to launch a barrage of wind blades that slice the target to pieces.

"She can manipulate the air to create shockwaves and wind blades, but she can also transform into vapor to travel short distance almost instantly."

"Make sure to run a DNA analysis on her wing feathers. We need to know if they are made from her or replications of actual bird."

Metal Paladin– A small, young Almeraci male with a lean build. Unlike most Almeraci, he doesn't look like warrior, looking more like a scholar. He has reflective chrome eyes with black sclera, light skin with metallic markings that resemble circuitry, and short black hair. He's dressed in Earth clothing with a black "Cognito Computer" T-Shirt, black pants with a lot of pockets, and sneakers. He also wears a gray hoodie.

He generates a glowing translucent blade and slashes the targets apart with some skill. The blade is translucent filled with digital images, resembling a solid hologram rather than a physical blade. It cuts with both physical force and burn damage like a lightsaber. He then jumps into air using wings of digital data to fly and fires holographic streams from his hands that do physical damage to targets. He then transforms into a giant angel-winged knight, which some of scientists recognize as a character from one of Cognito Amusphere Games (which in turn was based on Seraphimon)

"Digital Manipulation or specifically Video Constructs. The boy can change video into different shapes, objects, materials and substances of varying complexity, He can make weapons, armor, and even minions from video games."

"Scan his Amusphere Account. We may be able to get some useful test data."

Dr. Pamela Lilian Isley was once a world renown botanist, until she was forcibly transformed into plant-manipulating super-villainess Poison Ivy, debuting in 2006 at the age of 23. Her career lasted until the Arkham Poisoning in 2010, when she escaped to the Caribbean with her psychologist Dr. Harleen Quinzel. On this island, Poison Ivy went through a magical transformation that cleansed her body and soul of humanity's contaminants and allowed her to find some peace. With a little help from Cognito Inc, Pam and Harley have enjoyed their new lives and are now raising a child of their own.

During her four years as a super criminal, the very beautiful Poison Ivy amassed a huge following. As one of the most beautiful women in dc multiverse, it wasn't surprising to me. Thousands of fans care about the fact she was a gorgeous, green-skinned woman in plant-theme swimsuits and lingerie, then the fact she was willing to kill thousands of humans to protect a hundred trees.

Pam and Harly's latest problem is Poison Ivy's biggest fan – William Bernard Forest. He was once a small, thin American teenage with messy brown hair and green eyes behind thick glasses. He spent his days being ignored in high school, working a boring online job, and "worshipping his goddess". Then Will got his hands on a bag of "Flowing Wood Dragon Pollen" which is more illegal than a bag of heroin. Instead of dying, he gained plant powers and transformed himself into a green-skinned Adonis so he could claim his Goddess. He refused to accept her rejection and considered Pam's lover Harley as bonus girl. Normally, Pamela could kick a wannabe villain's ass with ease, even without Harley helping, but "Forest King" ability drained Pam's energy and Harley was protecting their daughter!

What Forest King didn't expect was for me to get a Quest on my Party Gamer screen and use a Cognito Portal to appear between the girls and him. He was shocked when I appeared, not surprising since I'm an eight-foot-two gray-skinned monster in black swim trunks

I explode from the surface of the Ocean, using my Legion Ring to float in the air. Green King after learning he couldn't physically harm me, did what this island's former guardian and the Dragon King did. He tossed me into deep water, which seriously annoys me. I glare down at Forest King who looks like a tall muscular bodybuilder and male model with green eyes, green skin, and long flowing blonde hair.

"I don't feel like playing games." I say as I release a blast of my Doom Vision. The beams instantly burn off Forest King's head. The body collapses to the ground.

"That was easy." says Harley, jinxing herself

"It's not over." says Pam and me.

A mass of vines and roots burst from King's back, some of them piercing the ground and lifting him off the ground, while the others whip around like thorny tentacles. Will then regrows his head in a burst of greenish fluid, reminding me of a discount Cell from DBZ.

"You think you could stop me. I am the Forest King." says Will, his voice distorted "What's wrong with my voice?"

"Your head didn't grow right." answers Harley.

Forest King's head is malformed with the face being white skull and what green flesh attached resembling melted wax. He cries out in horror.

"No! No! Why!?" he yells, before my second Doom Vision blast burns a hole through his chest, cutting off his screams by destroying his lungs. It also severs the vines and roots attached to his back causing King to crash into the beach.

"Unlike Superman's heat vision, my vision is loaded with radiation." I answer King's question as he regenerates the torso hole. Again, the radiation messes with the regeneration leaving his chest looking like lumpy oatmeal with deformed bones.

King struggles to his feet, but as he finally stands up, I land in front of him and slice upwards with a glowing bone blade. King is vertically sliced in half, crotch to head. The two pieces split apart in a spray of sticky green fluids and burning fragments. This time King doesn't regenerate, instead the two halves wither away like dying plants like brittle white husks.

"Thanks for the save, Ash." says Pam, feeling her energy return to her, "Stalkers are bad. Stalkers with powers are worse."

Suddenly, this world's versions of Poison Ivy and Harlequin notice I'm not alone on their island. There is a young boy with purple eyes and long messy light lilac hair. He's currently wearing a purple Hawaiian shirt, shorts, and sandals, while floating in the air inside a purple energy bubble.

"This is Hakudōshi, my adopted son via another weird adventure."

"It's a pleasure to meet you." says Hakudōshi.

"I was on a Hawaiian Vacation with the family when I got the Quest and he decided to come along."

"There is only so many times you can watch dumb tourists fail, before it gets boring." says Hakudōshi.

"Fail at what?" asks Harley.

"Everything. Relaxing. Sports. Picking up Women."

"To be fair, our family is superhuman." I say awkwardly.

"Even by human standard, those drunk tourists are morons."

Garfield Logan stands between his love Perdita and their attacker. He's in the form of a green gorilla and roaring, but he can feel himself weakening.

With the new Cognito Ground Bridge, visiting his girlfriend has become far easier. They were having a romantic walk in the park, away from the stress of the royal court and the entertainment business, when an intruder appeared. The guards could easily handle a normal intruder, but this one was far from normal and it became a massacre.

"Who are you?"

A man emerges from the shadows. He's a tall, muscular man standing six foot seven with strong Eastern European facial features. He has pale skin, thick black hair reaching his shoulders, thick eyebrows, and a perfectly groomed goatee. He also has animalistic red eyes with blackened sclera. He's dressed in a dark red shirt, black pants, black boots, and black gloves, all covered in a black long coat.

"Volkov" he says with a smile, showing his sharp canine teeth. He has a thick Russian accent, which makes Perdita wonder if he's connected to the Russian mob.

Volkov then uses his ability to summon black wolves with same red-on-black eyes, their fangs and fur still stained with the blood of the dead guards. Volkov is clearly not a normal human, as his skin moves unnaturally and even his clothing appears to be alive.

"You control these wolves." asks Perdita, knowing it's a dumb question, but needing to keep him talking.

"I don't control these wolves. I am these wolves."

"How does that work?"

"Your green-skinned lover can become any animal, but the original absorbed the souls of over six hundred animals and became me – one who is many."

Suddenly, Beast Boy coughs up blood and nearly collapses.

"Keeping me talking is a good idea, your Majesty. Unfortunately, it allows my venoms to do their work as well. Now while I enjoy chasing, slaughtering and devouring my prey, killing you is business and I have money to collect."

Suddenly, Volkov jumps back and the seven-foot Knight of Atlantis Ash Grey lands in front of him, making a crater in the ground.

"Sir Ash Grey!"

"Good to see you again, your Majesty." I say as I pull out what looks like a wrong color Epinephrine autoinjector (EpiPen) from my Party Gamer Inventory and toss it to her. "That should help Garfield."

Perdita injects Beast Boy, and his wounds instantly heal. The numerous venoms that were causing Garfield to bleed uncontrollably, internally and externally, vanish without a trace. I'm glad I told Rorschach to store my Panacea in autoinjectors. It's a lot easier than stabbing people with my injector bone-blades.

The demonic wolves leap at me, but they are moving in slow motion to my enhanced senses. I move with efficiency, grabbing and snapping the necks of wolves. Finally, I move in front of Volkov and deliver a punch. Normally, I would be moving so fast the normal human eye would not be able to perceive me and my blow could easily shatter bone and liquify organs of normal people. Volkov watches my attack, and he flies back instead of exploding like a gore-filled balloon. It's something I guessed would happen.

What he said to Perdita reminds me of Nrvnqsr Chaos from Type-Moon, the tenth of The Twenty-seven Dead Apostle Ancestors and an accumulation of the lives of 666 creatures. If Volkov's power is anything similar, I'm going to have to hit him HARD.

A holographic icon appears over Volkov in my vision. An incomplete red circle with the numbers "656/666" in the center. As the six dead wolves turn into red-black mist and reabsorbed by Volkov, the number goes up to "662/666". I see two smaller icons in the grass approaching Perdita and throw some bone blades into the grass. The hidden snakes die and rejoin the original.

Our bizarre battle truly begins with Volkov summoning more and more corrupted beasts to attack me or attempt to kill Perdita, while I continue to kill the dangerous creatures turned monsters trying to get the six hundred sixty-six to full. Any creature that I kill is reabsorbed and can be summoned again, completely undamaged from the previous death. As long as one beast exists, Volkov is immortal, and they can only die if all 666 are together!

Venomous snakes, ferocious spiders, stinging scorpions, and poisonous frogs all loaded with mystically enhanced toxins. Merely fuel for an Embodiment of Poison and far too slow to reach the human target. Even if there was a swarm, I could use my flame breath to exterminate the venomous pests.

Hippodamus, Elephant, and Cape Buffalo with their monstrous strength. Even if herd of demon elephants were to charge, they can't match my monstrous strength. A thick skull that can shatter ancient trees into toothpicks, might as well be cardboard to my fists.

The great Predatory beasts - Wolves, Bears, Tigers, and Saltwater Crocodile – enhanced to supernatural levels. Predators survive by preying on weaker animals or working together to take down prey, their prey normally isn't powerful enough to take on demon lords and cosmic horrors.

I am getting frustrated as I don't know where the last beast is. I can get the number up to "665", but there is one missing after every slaughter. Finally, I hear it and look up to see a falcon monitoring the battle from above. It's so high up and supernatural fast, it could probably dodge gunfire.

It's not fast enough to avoid my Doom Vision which burns off its feathers and a wing. This causes the irradiated flaming barbeque to crash into the ground with an audible splat. As the bird dies the counter finally reaches "666/666" and turns from red to green. I drive a bone spike into Volkov's chest and pump in the Ultimate Acidic Poison.

Volkov screams in pain as the corrosive venom spreads through his body and dissolves it. His chest implodes into darkness as even his ribs dissolve into smoking black goo. He loses the ability to scream as his lungs dissolve, smoke billowing from his mouth. Hundreds of beast forms erupt from his body, trying to escape the decaying fortress. They fail as their bodies gruesomely come apart and return to the mother mass.

I watch his death carefully, making sure nothing escapes. Finally, what's left of Volkov's human body collapses into red/black cloud of decaying blood and dying magical elements. When I reabsorb the "All-Black Venom" as I call it, there is nothing remaining of the Russian assassin.

I wait patiently, then get confirmation from my Party Gamer.

"Quest Complete"

Mingzhu's name means "bright pearl". Her parents loved the ocean, exploring its beautiful depths and uncovering sunken treasures. They named her after the treasure that brought them together and she loved her childhood with them. Then Atlantean purists murdered them, when they protected an "impure" couple from Lemuria.

She ended up living with her uncle, an old pirate with several adopted children. Piracy is an act of robbery or criminal violence by ship or boat-borne attackers upon another ship or a coastal area, typically with the goal of stealing cargo and other valuable goods. Her uncle may not have had a super villain name, he was infamous for his daring robberies and ruthless nature.

He was a criminal involved with theft and smuggling, but he was kind to her. She used to love hearing his fantastic stories of legendary pirates - Blackbeard, Anne Bonny, Henry Every, William Kidd, Calico Jack, Henry Morgan, and Fracis Drake. He even told her stories of Cheung Po Tsai the Hong Kong pirate that played Robin Hood and Zheng Yi Sao – the famous Pirate Queen Ching Shih.

Then the Dragons turned China into Hell on Earth. She survived the death and destruction, and eventually gained supernatural powers. She gained elemental power of water, due to her exposure to the dragon's blood. Superhuman powers not only allowed her to attack with water and rendered her immune to bullets but allowed her to create an immense supernatural fog that could hide and teleport her small fleet. Seeing herself as the new Pirate Emperess, she began her conquest.

Pirate Queen Mingzhu sits on her throne. She is a tall, athletic Chinese woman standing nearly six feet with the build of a swimmer and the face of a beauty. She has blue eyes, dark tanned skin, and long flowing black hair reaching her waist. The hair covers her left eye, which unlike her right has blackened sclera and a faint facial scar. She used to have brown eyes until her transformation. She also has dark lips and numerous blue tattoos on her arms, back, and neck of waves and various sea creatures. She is currently dressed in a blue top, black pants, and sandals, with a decorated long black coat.

Sitting next to her is her treasure – Varuna.

She resembles a beautiful Hindi woman standing five-foot-three with a swimmer's build and beauty of her own. She has golden eyes, dark brown skin, and long black hair tied back in a braid. The slightly pointed ears and gills on her neck reveal the fact that she is an Atlantean.

Varuna is a Atlantean noblewoman (named after the Hindu God of Water, Ocean, and Rain), a member of an infamous family that owned land and businesses in Tritonis. Her family was heavily involved with the Purists, despite her having no prejudice. Her numerous "impure" girlfriends would testify to her lack of prejudice and rather adventurous nature. When her family's crimes were exposed, she was attacked by the family of a Purist victim during a trip. She ended up being saved by Mingzhu and the two have been together since.

There is a knock at the door and with permission, Mingzhu's second-in-command Zhilan enters the chamber. Zhilan is a very tall and muscular woman with dark yellow eyes, tan skin with numerous tattoos and combat scars, and short black hair. Those yellow eyes are natural and the reason she was named after Iris orchioides (orchid iris). She is physically superior to Mingzhu and acts as her dragon, far more willing to resort to violence and bloodshed. She is dressed in a black top, grey pants, and black shoes with a leather vest and arm braces.

"What news do you bring?"

"We have acquired a new treasure. A magical treasure."

"Show me."

Zhilan pulls out a decorated lacquered wooden box of a bag. It's small enough to fit in one hand and decorated with jade, turquoise, and lapis lazuli, styled in the form of swirling waves. Varuna notices some writing on the box which is an old form of Atlantean.

"The Box of the Clear." says Varuna.

"It's either a religious artifact or a power boost." says Zhilan, giving it to Mingzhu, "Crack it open and find out."

Mingzhu pauses then opens the box to find it empty. There is a pause of disappointment, then suddenly magical energy streams from Mingzhu's body as multi-colored lights. She collapses in pain, dropping the open box in the process. Varuna is quick to act and kicks the box close, despite Zhilan trying to stop her. Zhilan then throws Varuna to the floor and picks up the closed box.

"What are you doing?"

"The Box of the Clear. A magical device designed to transfer powers from a champion of the clear to another they deem worthy." says Zhilan with a sneer, pointing her gun at the two, "Easy to use. The Clear champion merely needs to open the empty box for it to absorb power and then the successor needs to open the 'full' box. At least that is what the scroll said according to the Atlantean I killed."

Zhilan opens the box and the multi-chromatic magic flows into her body. As she opens her eyes, they are now pale blue. She raises her left hand (her right still holding her gun) and a sphere of water forms above her palm. A small of water that then transforms into a blade of magically hardened ice.

"Traitor." says Mingzhu as she rises to her feet.

"Don't bother. I've drained most of your power." says Zhilan, "You made me your second in command because I was willing to debate things instead of blindly following orders and I was willing to do the dirty work. You got to be the Pirate Queen stealing riches from the wealthy and helping the poor. I was the one that slit the throats of the guards and did the dirty work. You and your orphan friends played with the heroes and won hearts online, while me and my people did the real work."

"It was your idea to expand the fleet and be more aggressive. Nobody died until you joined!" says Mingzhu, "It was my friends that convinced me to allow you and your followers to join."

Mingzhu knows that Zhilan has another reason for turning traitor. Her lover Shu was one of Mingzhu's 'orphan friends' but was recently killed. Zhilan blamed Mingzhu's mercy for causing his death.

"Your foolish friends are dead by now. It must be a record mutiny on ten separate ships at the same time!"

"You're the fool, Zhilan."

Zhilan turns at the voice to see Jade Chan standing near the door. Zhilan automatic shoots at Jade, aiming for the head, but the bullets pass through her.

"Who the hell are you?"

"Jade Chan, Queen of the Shadowlands, and wife of Ash Grey, Atlantean Knight Commander of the Order of Megalodon." replies Jade as Varuna pales. She knows exactly who this person is, and she is considering grabbing Mingzhu and diving out the porthole.

"How did you find us?"

"Your magic fog works on mundane and the common sensors of Atlanteans, but nothing can hide from my Shadowkhan."

Squid. Crab, and Kunoichi tribe Shadowkahn appear in the chamber. Zhilan panics and gathers water around her into sphere before lashing out with water tentacles. The water tentacles strike with the power of water cutters, slicing part of the ship apart. The Shadowkahn on the other hand can avoid the whipping water tentacles. When Zhilan points her gun at Mingzhu and Varuna in a vain attempt to take them hostage, the hand holding the gun is sliced off at the wrist. She screams holding the stump as the hand floats in the dirtied sphere of water.

"If you're wondering about your men. They are already dead." says Jade reaching into the water sphere with ease and pulling out the severed hand still holding the gun. She then casually tosses it aside. "Only Mingzhu's band of 'chivalrous sea thieves' were spared."

Jade is mocking, but Zhilan is terrified. Mingzhu and Varuna are smart enough to keep quiet. Zhilan cries out and is about to yell something or make a counterattack, but Jade flicks her wrist. Zhilan's water sphere collapses and floods the floor. Zhilan's head also hits the floor separate from the rest of her body.

"If I was a Hero, I would be arresting you pirates as despite not killing anyone yourself, people were murdered by your men under the crime. If I was villain, I would take everything you have and wipe out you fools." says Jade, as she makes a throne of darkness appear for her to sit on, "You're a fan of pirate history, Mingzhu. What do you know of privateers?"

The Grey is the elemental plane which is connected to all fungal life. Fungal life and their users are very divided. Some fungi are toxic and symbolize decay, while some fungi are edible and symbolize rebirth from decay. In the cases of those who want decent work, the one major job is meta-mushroom farming.

Edible mushrooms are the fleshy and edible fruit bodies of several species of macrofungi (fungi which bear fruiting structures that are large enough to be seen with the naked eye). China used to produce most edible Mushrooms and Truffles at nearly nine million tons annually, out of the twelve million the entire world produced. The Day of the Dragons didn't just wipe out much of the population and government, it also wiped out most industries. Most of the the world's mushroom production now lies with the other major producers are Japan, United States, Poland, and Netherlands.

Cognito Farms began with Green-manipulators, but eventually they gained a small number of Grey-manipulators who grew edible mushrooms. These Fungi Farms in China, Japan, and America produce millions of mushrooms ranging from common white portobello to Shiitake to bamboo mushrooms. When the other countries realized these new metahumans could be valuable for food production, new meta-farms began to appear.

Kirisame Farm is a small meta-farm run by a Mari Kirisame, a small group of Grey Metas, and enough workers to fill a small village. The metahumans use their abilities to accelerate the growth and vitality of the fungi, while the workers do the rest of the dirty work. The Grey Metas look ordinary Chinese and Japanese girls, but their eyes and hair are shades of gray. They are dressed in yellow protective outfits to make sure there is no contamination. The workers are dressed in white jumpsuits with white masks and hair coverings.

The farmers are being monitored on security cameras by computers and security personal. These cameras are meant to prevent employees from violated their contracts, such as stealing or performing unsafe actions. They also monitor the farmers for their protection, in case there are intruders or if one of them has emergency health problems.

Sometimes even the owner needs protection.

"Due to the supernatural origin of their abilities, there have been unique species of mushrooms appearing. Some of the most popular are the Choco Mushrooms taste of a sweet chocolate and the Cream Mushroom which have a rich scent and taste reminiscent of cream. One controversial creation is the Mooshoom – an edible mushroom that causes grow of secondary characteristic and lactation in female mammals. It can be used to increase milk production in bovines, but some people have learned that they work on humans."

Mari Kisame clicks off the television. She a tall, lean Japanese businesswoman standing five-foot-two (the same height as an average small, but five inches taller than the average woman). She was once a young beautiful woman, but she is now a mature woman in her thirties. She has dark eyes and shoulder-length black hair. She wears an expensive business outfit and a harsh look on her face. Many years of dealing with arrogant Japanese businessmen was not helpful for her stress level.

She opens a container and looks down at its contents, which are sealed in air-tight clear plastic. They are strange-looking dark purple mushrooms with spiral caps and dark stripe markings.

Mushrooms with psychoactive properties have long played a role in various native medicine traditions in cultures all around the world. They are even used in modern medicines such as Psilocybin used to treat psychological disorders. There are grey manipulators that can produce new kinds of Psychoactive mushrooms for the illegal recreational drug trade.

"Have you considered our offer?"

She nearly cries out and turns to see a man dressed in black like a modern ninja. He's the same height as her with lean muscular build. He's completely covered in black – black shirt, pants, boots, jacket, and gloves. The only thing that can see seen are his eyes through the three-hole balaclava and those eyes scare Mari. They are milky grey with black sclera and dark purple diseased looking skin surrounding them. The mouth is the same, showing the teeth of a corpse.

This ninja Kuroda appeared a week ago. He demonstrated his ability to control the mind of others using spores. While people were under the influence of those toxic spores. He claimed he was sent by an organization that wanted to use her facility to grow some very special mushrooms, but Mari and the Grey girls turned out to have natural immunity, so he made an offer.

"I refuse."

"Shame. I've looked at your business history and you have serious talent. You're also still beautiful even for 'Christmas cake'." he says causing her eyebrow to twitch, "If I could control you, I would add you to my collection."

"Collection?"

"Anyone who inhales or ingests my spores becomes bonded to me. Anything I do is acceptable to them. Anything I say is logical and obeyed without question. I have many men willing to kill for me and I have many women willing to do whatever I ask. With your farm I can spread my spores across Japan and the rest of the world and become the world's hidden king."

"You are right about one thing."

"And that is?"

"I do have talent in business. I recently negotiated with Cognito Inc."

A bone blade then pierces Kuroda's back and out of his chest in a spray of white ooze. As Kuroda is lifted off the ground, more white liquid erupts from his mouth. Kuroda is then violently ripped in half, exposing monochromatic insides and more liquid resembling "spoiled milk". The "corpse" lands on the floor and proceeds to "bleed out".

Mari would later say it resembled that scene in Aliens when the Xenomorph Queen impaled the android Bishop with her tail.

"Nice try." says Ash Grey as he deactivates his [Supernatural Camouflage]. At its current level, Ash can compete with the Yautja in stealth abilities. "I know as Fungal mimic, dismembered won't kill you."

"Who?" says Kuroda after coughing up more ooze.

"Ash Grey - Cognito SPB Division. When superpowered villains start causing trouble, we either change their lives or end them!" says Ash Grey, "Rorschach informed me of your little plan and we know that when you die, all the spores will die."

"Your blades don't work. How do you intend to kill me?"

"I have a lot of abilities. Also, while the blades don't work, the super-fungicide they are secreting will."

Kuroda notices a hissing sound and steam coming from his torn waist. Near him, his lower body is also hissing and fuming, and he can see the flesh bubbling and dissolving. Kuroda tries to call his slaves to help him, but his voice is gone. Only steam and more white fluid bubble from his decayed mouth as foam.

"I have to say, Lord Grey, you are terrifying." says Mari, "I haven't seen something this gruesome since my friends and me watched an American sci-fi marathon."

"I'm Cognito's Indestructible Monster." says Ash, boasting a little, "Sometimes, when you need to build, you must first destroy. I break things so Doctor Genus can build things."

Mari and Ash discuss business and philosophy for an hour as Kuroda of the Gray slowly dies. When Mari's sample of purple fungi blackens and withers, they know he's finally completely dead. Ash would have incinerated Kuroda and ended things quickly, but he was worried about damaging Mari's floor.

The Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest coral reef system composed of over 2,900 individual reefs and 900 islands stretching for over 2,300 kilometers (1,400 mi) over an area of approximately 344,400 square kilometers (133,000 sq mi). The reef is in the Coral Sea, off the coast of Queensland, Australia, separated from the coast by a channel 100 miles wide in places and over 200 feet deep.

Climate change, pollution, crown-of-thorns starfish and fishing are the primary threats to the health of this reef system. Other threats include shipping accidents, oil spills, and tropical cyclones. Cognito Inc has made recent efforts to restore the health of the Great Barrier Reef, ranging from climate control, eliminating a portion of the crown-of-thorns starfish, and special nanomedicine to help the coral itself.

Cognito Inc didn't predict the newest problem.

A five-meter-tall humanoid bursts from the ocean's surface. Its body is composed of thick dark purple mud mixed with ocean debris like seashells and driftwood. A thick inverted-teardrop-shaped mass with thick hard legs and long thick flexible arms. The mud body is covered by smooth stones and various forms of coral, which are rapidly growing and reabsorbed in different patterns. It doesn't have a proper face, just a small stone head with multiple lights for eyes. It's clearly enraged, delivering thunderous blows to anything around it and occasionally firing sharp coral fragments that could pierce armor. As it destroys items and kills animals, they are pulled inside the stone shell by dark purple tentacles and dissolved by the mud. Each item or animal consumed increases the power of the humanoid.

Australia's team of sponsored heroes respond to the threat.

Owen "Boomer" Mercer is a young man standing six foot one with blue eyes and red hair. Owen grew up with a single mother in America. He had a normal childhood until he awoke his metahuman ability, which allowed him to move at superhuman speeds for brief bursts. He trained and he learned he could even accelerate objects he could throw. He finally learned his father was Australian native George "Digger" Harkness, formerly known as Captain Boomerang. After his father was "brought down to normal" he confronted Cognito and much to his shock he was given his father's skills, becoming the new Captain Boomerang – this one a Hero.

"Woah!" says Captain Boomerang as he blurs away from coral spikes that impale the beach umbrella that was behind him. He then tosses metal boomerangs that explode when they hit the monster, releasing a foaming foggy liquid that freezes the creature's legs in ice. "Cool off."

"What is with Americans and their puns?" says his teammate.

Olivia Li is a young Chinese woman standing five-foot-three with green eyes, light skin, and short black hair. After the Day of the Dragons, she joined her surviving family in moving to the Commonwealth of Australia. Her uncle was businessman who worked at a corporation, whose HQ was in Melbourne and he was able to get them jobs. Olivia's "Green" meta-ability awoke and she became interested in heroics. Cognito Inc eventually absorbed the corporation, promoting her uncle and recruiting her as a corporate hero - Greenway.

Greenway manipulates the seaweed and other marine plants, creating thick vines to slow the monster's movements. She creates a mesh of plant fibers around the creature to slow and stop the coral spikes.

Hugh Dawkins – A therianthropic Red metahuman who can shift between human, animal, and various hybrid forms. His human form is a six-foot muscular blonde who used to work on an opal miner. His animal form is a massive version of a Tasmanian Devil (a carnivorous marsupial), while normally the size of a small dog at 18 pounds the meta version is as large as his 180-pound human form. This grants his hybrid form a powerful bite, enhanced senses of smell and hearing, night vision, enhanced endurance and enhanced strength. He also has climbing, speed swimming, and a matter Ingestion ability that allows him to consume and digest substances without harm.

The Tasmanian Devil is helping people escape from a collapsed structure. A structure that collapsed due to the monster's coral projectiles.

Dark Ranger and Scout are the Batman and Robin of Australia. Inspired by the exploits of the Batman of Gotham City, one Australian man became a superhero, theming his costume around Australian bush rangers. As the number of metahumans and criminals with access to magic or super-tech increased, Dark Ranger upgraded his consume into a more space ranger outfit. He joined Cognito Inc when their nanomedicine saved Scout's life and to escape the financial burden of being an unpowered gadgeteer vigilante without being rich like Batman.

Dark Ranger's exotic energy pistol is very similar to Rorschach's own unique weapons. These guns can produce anti-metal beams which are perfect for disarming criminals and vehicles and shock beams that are like wireless taser guns. Today, they fire a different form of anti-metal beams designed to affect silicon and aluminum found in minerals, which is dangerous since silicon and carbon share properties. The beams cause the monster's stone shell to crack.

The siblings Davis "Davey" Cameron and Heather Cameron lived normal lives with Davey being a professional surfer and teacher, and his sister working as a lifeguard on a major beach. They triggered when a super villain attacked the beach they were working at.

Davey gained the ability to create a gravitational warping ability, which allowed him to fly on his surfboard and negate the weight of objects. This allowed him to lift and transport people away from danger and slam into the villain hard enough to break six of the villain's ribs. With help from Cognito, Slipstream as he called himself, learned to create warps to transport himself and others, using a system similar to the Ground Bridge system.

Heather gained the ability of Situational Biomorphic Adaptation - According to the type of danger in the current situation, she automatically obtains the powers necessary to save those lives, be they hers or others. Unlike Ash Grey whose adaptations are permanent and stack, she only gains those adaptations until the danger has passed. This meta-ability did have the side effect of turning her skin and hair a metallic gold color, making her look a trophy figurine.

The two new heroes eventually became Corporate Heroes when Cognito opened its Australia branch. Slipstream and Lifeguard are evacuating civilians and keeping people away from the battle.

One member of the team is missing Laguna Blue. She is a water elemental hero, one that's empowered by the Clear, who has a body composed of blue liquid that can manipulate. This means elasticity and shapeshifting. She was helping scientists at the Great Barrier Reef when contact was lost.

The dark-skinned beauties Priscilla and Maximilla dressed in swimsuits stand in an abandoned shack, looking down at an unconscious young man.

The handsome young man is nearly six feet with short very curly blonde hair. He's dressed in non-descript beach clothing and is holding a black crystal ball the size of a baseball in his right hand.

"Project Jericho." says Priss, "The Light cloned Slade's estranged son Joseph who has the ability to possess others. He was sent to infiltrate Team Australia."

"So, what went wrong?"

"Laguna lied in her interview. She is a member of the Divided instead of the Clear." says Priss, "Instead of having a body composed of water, she was hive-mind of aquatic microbes. When Project Jericho attempted to possess her, she split into two bodies. One containing her own mind dispersed in the water, while Jericho was left trapped inside the other part."

"So, that creates a coral/mud monster?"

"The Divided cut him off, so his powers are unstable. He's subconsciously absorbing creatures to refuel his energy. He's also moving towards his original body due to instincts"

"How do we stop him?"

"We break the link."

The Australian Heroes watch as their monstrous opponent lets out a strange cry, before collapsing to the ground. The glow fades from all parts of his body, the purple mud turning gray and collapsing like a child's sandcastle.

Hours later, a lifeguard would discover a pool of blood in an abandoned shack. DNA analyze would determine it belonged to Joseph Wilson, but the healthy young man was found in America, working for a Super Team. The man lacking any injury had no answer to why his blood was found in the shack and the case with no leads would become a cold case.

Port Royal is a village located at the end of the Palisadoes, at the mouth of Kingston Harbour, in southeastern Jamaica. Founded in 1494 by the Spanish, it was once the largest city in the Caribbean, functioning as the center of shipping and commerce in the Caribbean Sea by the latter half of the 17th century.

Port Royal provided a safe harbor initially for privateers and subsequently for pirates plying the shipping lanes to and from Spain and Panama. Buccaneers found Port Royal appealing for several reasons. As a result, Port Royal is famous in pop culture for piracy.

Many treasure hunters have searched for pirate gold in these waters and one man named David Jones succeeded. He found a lost chest of gold coins in the Caribbean waters and in another life time, he would have become rich and famous. In this world, he was stabbed in the chest by his treacherous partner and dumped into the ocean. As he died, he was empowered the Black. He absorbed the souls of the dead and was driven mad, believing himself to Pirate Captain Davey Jones. He rose as a zombie pirate and began killing people to join his crew and find his treasure.

"A dark beauty stands before me. Shame that only gold can warm my soul. The warmth of female flesh no longer thrills me." says Captain Davey Jones, "I'm sure you would make a nice comfort for my men and me."

Raven has had enough of this fool. She moves with a speed you would expect from a member of the Flash family and puts her hand on The Captain's bony grey chest. She then pulls her hand away, pulling black and white flames from his chest. The zombie pirate crew attack her with their weapons, which consist mostly of machetes, knives, hooks, and crowbars, but Raven weaves between the blows. She is dancing on the ghost ship's deck with the fire still in her hand.

She pulls more and more from The Captain, until all is gathered. It forms a pale white flame surrounded by black flames and sits in the palm of her hand. She then closes her fist and extinguishes the flames. The white flames of The Captain's eroded souls and the black flames of The Rot manifested. As she does the extinguishment, the zombie crew stop moving and so does The Captain.

Then it begins. Slowly, the glow fades from the eyes of the zombies and they collapse to the ground. Their flesh decays from their bones and the bones crumble to dust. Even clothing they wore rots away and their weapons rust into powder. The End of The Captain is a little more exciting as black smoke billows from his body as it collapses into ash, it's magical black clothing also sublimating. The massive ship then shakes as it ages a hundred years in a hundred seconds. Rotting wood, decayed plastic, and rusted metal fragments sinking into the depths of the ocean.

Raven floats above the water.

"This is why I don't like dealing with The Black. I hope the reward for this Quest was worth the trouble."

After many Quests, Ash and Family are enjoying a little vacation time.

Although there is a widespread belief that the name Lanikai means "heavenly sea", that is a misconception and a grammatical error, since in the Hawaiian language, the qualifier (lani) comes after the noun (kai). This small half-mile strip of beach is consistently ranked among the best beaches in the world.

Due to money and Cognito Inc connections, my family managed to get some nice places. The sun and golden sand are pleasant, but it's impossible for most of us to tan. Blackfire and Starfire are Tamaraneans that absorb UV radiation, so it's impossible for them to tan or get sunburn. Raven and Jade don't have normal pigmentation and gray pigmentation doesn't tan. Hakudōshi's demon cells regenerate too quickly for tanning to work. In my case, I could take a dip in stellar plasma and not get a sunburn. This means most of us must use shape-shifting or illusions to fake a tan.

I'm currently in my seven-foot human form with a few differences. I used my shapeshifting to give myself a fake tan and after losing a bet to my daughter lengthened my hair like one of those surfers. There are a few people staring at me as I'm both the tallest and most muscular person on the beach as I lie on a beach drinking a bottle of some sort of tropical fruit drink. I don't know if it's a kid's drink or alcohol-filled adult drink, but it doesn't matter to my body.

Blackfire and Starfire are the most noticed beauties on this beach with their orange skinned supermodel bodies. They are also dressed in micro slingshot, which basically means very little material covering those near divine bodies. Starfire is a little embarrassed at Blackfire making her wear this choice of swimwear. Neither Tamaranean have a problem with nudity, but Starfire says the sling looks like something she could have worn on her honeymoon. I must agree.

Raven is dressed in a simple purple swimsuit. She is lying on a beach chair, half under the umbrella, reading a book while enjoying a drink. While I have seen people on the beach reading novels, magazines or even reading academic books, I have never seen anyone reading a large leather-bound book written in a dead language not of this world. When I asked what spell, she was trying to learn, she said she wanted to avoid touching gross things in the future.

Jade is dressed in a sexy black/purple bikini. Normally, creatures of shadow and darkness dislike sunlight. There are even some elementals of the Shadowlands that are vulnerable to sunlight like certain breeds of vampires and spirits. Jade after many years, an obscene amount of training, and a little help from Rorschach can now transform sunlight she absorbs into magic. The sun only makes her stronger now and she jokes her Uncle's Aiyah would be heard for miles.

Priss is dressed in a very sexy gold-decorated purple swimsuit. She is enjoying the blue waters of the heavenly sea. She moves with such ease in the ocean waves, some of the other vacationers wonder if she has Atlantean blood. Priss lacks Atlantean genetics, but she does have a mixture of Kherabim and Pseudo-Daemonite genes that grant her great physical abilities despite her focusing on her telepathic and psychokinetic abilities. She's using her telepathy to scare off any guy that wants to hit on her.

Max is dressed in a very sexy gold-decorated green swimsuit, which shows off her muscular Amazonian physique. While her twin focused on her mental abilities, Max focused on her physical power and shapeshifting abilities. Many of the male bodybuilders are intimidated by how much weight she is lifting, knowing if they made her mad, she could fold them. If only those fools knew that Cognito G Weights are way heavier than they look, they would spoil their swim trunks.

My daughter Daniya (it's still so strange to think that) is dressed in a black-and-white one piece and enjoying the water. The Halfa-Cambion Hybrid has the same skin as Raven, the analogue to her biological mother. She is laughing as she splashes her brother and enjoying herself. Despite her demonic pigmentation, Raven still insisted she wear proper suntan lotion/insect repellant. You can guess it was Cognito Brand Lotion.

Hakudōshi doesn't look so happy with being soaked. It could be because of his long mane of light lilac hair weighing him down. He's dressed in white swim trunks and wraparound sunglasses. I can also imagine a fantasy world demon not enjoying intense levels of sunlight. Hakudōshi notices something and casts a spell that only me, he, Raven, and Jade can see.

There was an overweight bald man looking lewdly at Daniya. I tolerate people looking at my wives because they are the most beautiful women in the world and if anyone messes with them, they can easily defend themselves (any would be rapist would end up a pile of body parts). I don't tolerate perverts looking at my daughter, so Hakudōshi's 72-hour blindness spell is Very Merciful.

On this vacation, we brought our "pets" with us. The officials don't complain for three reasons. Reason one is both pets are so rare and exotic, they can't reproduce and become an invasive species. Reason two is Cognito Inc is obscenely powerful and behind many projects on the islands, including the elimination of invasive species. Reason three is they are clearly a SPB family and normal police and border workers don't want to deal with super powered beings, especially ones connected to Rorschach!

Evo the Evee has gotten bigger and stronger since he was found in Cadmus Upsilon. Thanks to a training program and a little work from Cognito Inc, he's massively over leveled. The Evolution Pokémon is over the game's maximum - level 100, breaking the limitation of all Pokémon. The little Pokémon could probably take on the Legendary beasts of his world and he's not even evolved into one of eight evolutions. It doesn't stop dozens of female tourists from saying how adorable he is.

Konami the Axolotl G-Gnome has been my companion since I escaped Cadmus Beta. She was originally an ordinary partner-less G-Gnome until she was exposed to a combination of another Cadmus experiment and an extremely mutagenic virus created from my own body. According to Neo, she has amazing regeneration due to her paedomorphic salamander DNA, but there is no way I would allow her to be hurt. I have been a fan of Leucistic (partial albinism - white & pink) axolotl since I saw the versions in Minecraft. According to Neo, she will also never mature and lose her regenerative abilities. She doesn't mind the fact, enjoying her immortality.

She is also attracting some fans with her exotic cuteness. They have their phones out taking pictures and posting comments on social media. I'm guessing the debate is what Konami is. An alien dog, a meta monkey, or magical creature?

Suddenly, I get a Quest Notification from the "Doomsday Clock" Party Gamer. Someday I'm going to learn how to turn off notifications. Serious, Hawaii has competent Heroes. They may look like rejects from an Adult Disney website, but their intelligent, brave, and lucky enough to get the job done.

My eyes narrow as I read the quest description.

"Girls and Haku, I'm going to do a quick Quest. I'll be back in a few minutes."

"Do you want any help?" asks Raven.

"I'll be fine, you enjoy your book, love." I say to Raven as I stand up, "Cog - Portal to Honolulu Museum of Art"

Cognito Inc systems automatically open a portal for its authorized personnel. It sure makes things easier than plane and ship rides.

The Honolulu Museum of Art is an art museum in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. The museum is the largest of its kind in the state and was founded in 1922 by Anna Rice Cooke. The museum has one of the largest single collections of Asian and Pan-Pacific art in the United States, and since its official opening on April 8, 1927, its collections have grown to more than 55,000 works of art

Two figures ran from the museum with one of them holding a cylindrical case.

One is a very muscular Hawaiian man of average height with dark sunglasses, dark skin with paler scars on his chest and face, and short wavy black hair. He's dressed in a flower-theme Hawaiian shirt open to show his bare chest, black pants, and black sneakers. He also has a gold watch and a gold necklace.

The other is a short, overweight, and round man of South-East Asian descent with gray eyes behind dark glasses, deep tanned skin, and a thick bald head. He also has a black goatee. He's dressed in a black shirt, white pants, and black shoes, with a white jacket and fedora hat.

"I hope you know what you're doing, Oliver "says the small round man.

"Trust me, Dong. "

"Hold villains! Justice has arrived!" comes a voice as a "superhero" descends from the sky.

The Hero is a young Hawaiian man standing over six feet with a lean muscular build and a handsome face. He also has solid white eyes, light olive skin, and short messy black hair like a male model. He's dressed in a skin-tight white costume that covers everything except his face and hair. He also wears white domino face mask with lens to protect his eyes and a white cape. His costume's only coloring are red-and-blue stripes based on the Hawaii flag (which is based on the British Union Jack).

"Cyclone, Champion of Hawaii is here!"

The two criminals look at each other, then burst out laughing.

"Hey!"

"Sorry Noah, but you became so campy." says Dong, "Also, what's with the cape?"

"What's wrong with my cape?"

"Capes are out. Too many on-the-job accidents." says Dong, "Don't you remember all those newbies a few years ago. One girl got sucked into the jet engine of a passenger plane and almost crashed it. One guy was grabbed by the cape by Deathstroke and impaled by his sword. One idiot got his cape caught in a door and was shot to death while on the ground."

"Superman, Batman, and Martian Manhunter still wear capes."

"Superman is nigh invulnerable. Anybody that tries to pull on that cape will end up pulling themselves off their feet. Batman's cape not only detaches if pulled too hard it has a taser built into it. Manhunter's cape is either part of his body or some sort of biotech as it can shape-shift with him."

"How do you know this stuff?"

"You should have done your online research."

"Real Heroes do research before they get into the career." taunts Oliver, "Noah on the other hand is a Fake Hero."

"You dare call me a Fake!" says Cyclone, who's beginning to recognize Oliver, "Wait. Oliver Oshiro?"

"You finally recognize me, Noah Nakamura." says Oliver as he's covered in flames and transforms. He becomes a taller humanoid composed of glowing lava covered in an armor of black volcanic rock with fire for hair. His shirt and shoes burn away, but pants are apparently heat-resistant. His gold watch also bursts off his wrist, but his gold chain is unharmed. "You probably would have recognized this form. I go by the cape named Pyrus these days."

"I take it you know each other?" asks Dong.

"Me and him used to work together. The big white hero and me were in a group of thieves. Then one day we find this mystical artifact and get powers from these elemental realms of air and fire. I roasted the owner when he showed up, Noah blasted me and the crew. I went off a cliff, our buddies died, and he became a hero for saving the neighbors from the fire. "

"I thought you were dead Oliver. I mourned all of you."

"Why did you betray me?"

"I'm not a killer. When you burned that old man, you went too far!"

"Why didn't you confess then?! He died during our robbery which makes you just as guilty."

"I wanted to do good with my powers. I could and did do good outside a cell."

"Excuses."

Suddenly, humanoids composed of mud burst from the ground and attacked Cyclone. He attempts to take to the sky, only for his cape to be grabbed. He tosses to the ground, but he manages to slice the mud men to pieces with wind blades. Cyclone is then captured by half a dozen mud men. As he's held by their wet dirty arms, he can clearly see their faces – identical to Dong.

"Thank God." says Oliver/Pyrus. Dong told him his mud clones are identical to him, but naked. Thankfully, like the Barbie Doll size version he summoned to demonstrate, the full-size ones are still as anatomically correct as a Ken Doll. He then pulls out the container, which is also undamaged by the flames.

"Do you remember this painting? It was the one on the old man's wall. The one that gave us our powers. Turns out it was originally a scroll used to capture 'fragments of the elemental realms' so the magicians or whatever could be communicate with them." says Pyrus, "A bunch of scavengers found it and donated it. It turns out it can't be harmed by any of the nine elements."

"Ten." says Dong.

"What?"

"There is a new realm called Metal. It's cyberspace with AI and machine stuff."

"Dong. You have been a good partner, but all your trivia is annoying. I'm so glad about this."

"About what?"

Pyrus points the open canvas at Cyclone captured by Dong's clones and the magic begins to flow. Glowing white mist flows from the screaming Cyclone into the canvas. Dong is also screaming as golden energy flows out of him into the ground, through the ground, and up Pyrus' body into the canvas.

As the power drains, Noah and Dong collapse to the ground, with Dong's mud clones crumbling. Noah's face is withered and pale, bluing around the lips. Dong is holding his body as if every bone pained him.

"Forcibly draining a person can have nasty effects. Now for the other part."

Suddenly, a bone blade bursts from his chest in spray of fiery blood. The tip also pierces the canvas, which Pyrus thought was impossible. The Canvas immune to damage done by plants, animals, bacteria, fungi, water, fire, earth, wind, and the touch of death and decay itself, is pierced by my blade. It releases orbs of different lights, before turning gray and crumbling to dust between Oliver's fingers.

"Ash Grey. Cognito – SPB Division." I say standing behind him and releasing my supernatural stealth. "I could have waited for you to absorb those powers and had an epic fight with you, but I'm on vacation."

I push my blades upward slicing through his heart/core, through his neck, and slicing through the head. With a flick of super speed, I clean my blades before reabsorbing them. Pyrus's body erupts flames and glowing liquids, then the "lava" darkens to a lifeless grey and hardens. The body then cracks as it rapidly cools and crumbles into a pile of volcanic rock and ash.

The San Francisco Bay Area, often referred to as simply the Bay Area, is a populous region surrounding the San Francisco, San Pablo, and Suisun Bay estuaries in Northern California. The Bay Area is defined by the Association of Bay Area Governments to include the nine counties that border the estuaries: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, Sonoma, and San Francisco.

What's important today about the Bay is there is a unique visitor. A crack open in space and time, as if reality was merely a piece of glass. The fragments vanished into nonexistence, but the crack and colorful distortions inside it can be seen from the shore. From that crack, a creature emerges into the material plane of Earth-DR.

The creature is a massive saurian standing over three hundred meters in height (~984.25 feet). It resembles a massive dinosaur with a thick jawed reptilian head, short muscular arms, thick legs to support its insane weight, and a long thick tail for balance and propulsion in water. Some of the more ignorant viewers cry out "Godzilla!", but the new Dai-Kaiju has many differences with the famous King of Monsters. The main difference is its entire body is composed of metallic crystals and if you got close you would see chrome-colored crystals with veins of multi-colored lights. The massive monster also has solid metal claws, lacks maple-leaf-shaped dorsal fins, and has a solid metal jaw. As it roars, there is a weird distortion and electronic devices glitch.

The beast releases a beam of white fire towards the famous golden gate bridge. Its destruction would kill hundreds, if not thousands of people, but the beam is blocked by a huge translucent energy shield. The source of the shield is a prototype Iron Legion turned techno-organic transformer, Cognito Hero and Rorschach's son – Pip – The Iron Patriot. Then much to the shock of the kaiju, the glowing energy shield concentrates the accumulated energy into a marble-size point before releasing a concentrated beam. The beam pierces the giant monster making it roar in pain.

Pip then flies towards the monster, unleashing his own beams that blind the beast. It then makes random orbits around the beast leaving trails of glowing metal. As the lines overlap, the metal gets hotter and hotter, until explosions go off. The observers on the shore notice instead of flesh and blood, the wounds are releasing streams of rainbow-colored particles, digital particles.

"What is that thing, dad?" asks Daniya.

"Mega Virus Monster. A monster created from a computer virus in the Cyberverse. Pip should be done soon."

"You aren't worried about Pip?"

A beam of energy descends from the sky, parting clouds, before hitting Pip. Pip glows brightly before firing a brilliant beam from chest emitter. The beam is immensely powerful, burning a ten-meter radius hole in the chest of the giant monster, all the way though. There is a slight pause and electricity arcs in the tunnel made in the monster, then steam and data particles explode out both sides like a burst pipe.

"He's Uncle Neo's son. He will be fine."

Reach Survival Fleet

The Reach – the second oldest intelligent race in the universe and once powerful conquerors – are now a dying race. The dozens of spaceships moving in the darkness of space represent what remains of the once great empire that dominated parts of the universe. These ships came from a dozen colony worlds and contained most of the remaining Reach population.

Brainiac's complete destruction of Reach World annihilated most of the Reach, who had been confined to their colony since the war with the Oans. Much of their armada died defending their home world, slaughtering like animals by the Coluan conqueror from another universe. Even the colonies in the Reach home system were abandoned due to the radiation and debris from the destroyed home world.

This was only the beginning, as with the loss of home world and the seat of power, the colonies descended into War. Reach commanders of various colonies fighting each other to determine which colony would become the new seat of power. Small resistance cells on varies colonies, people who hadn't submitted to the Reach drugs in their food and water, became full blown rebellions when they learned "the head of the snake had been cut off".

Then came the fall of Brainiac to the hands of Earth's Cognito Inc. and the smartest sentient in the universe – Doctor Genus. During that battle, Brainiac used technology stolen from the Reach to create a million Scarab warriors in his own image – the Brainiac Beetles. During that battle, an agent of Cognito clad in armor freed those one million from Brainiac's control and a portion helped fight against Brainiac's forces.

The one million Brainiac Beetles were not the only Scarab Beetles to be freed and transformed. All Scarab warriors were transformed, and their bonds of obedience shattered. While some of those armored warriors were Reach Warrior caste like Black Beetle of the Earth Exploration Fleet, the majority were people of various worlds that had been enslaved to help the Reach conquer their worlds. Almost as one, they rebelled and started causing massive damage with their new powers. Where the rebellions once only had small cells, they now had Champions. As worlds were finally freed of Reach tyranny, the Scarab warriors joined their brothers, sisters, and other siblings in freeing other worlds.

Cognito also helped the native populations in the shadows against the Reach. They supplied the rebels with food, water, shelter, and various resources. They supplied them with armor, weapons, and cloaking technology that could hide them from the Reach sensors. They supplied them with vital information needed to take down Reach communication and weapon systems. They even released an airborne agent on various worlds, each one tailored to the species, that cured the population of the drug addiction and mind control used by the Reach. Many Reach overseers were shocked when their formerly hopelessly addicted slaves rebelled against them, at least until they were stabbed to death or runover by a vehicle.

Suddenly, Alarms got off on the Reach fleet ships as they detect a swarm of Scarabs. The Fleet attempted to mount a defense with their arthropod-like robotic drones, plasma weapons and energy barriers, but it soon becomes clear this battle with be a massacre.

Beetles fly around ships at speeds so great they appear as streaks of light. As they move at massively hypersonic speeds, they release beams of light and energy. Even the brief exposure to the beams is enough to leave glowing trails of molten metal. When the beams hit heat panels or windows there are explosions of gas turned plasma. Weapon turrets are blown to pieces, then the power conduits they were connected to are targeted. The corridors of the ships are soon either filled with fire as plasma-filled power conduits rupture or exposed to the nigh-vacuum of space, either is death for the Reach crews. Computer systems quickly go dead and once the cores of the ships are hit; the ships are blown apart by internal explosions.

[A/N - Play "Engines of Destruction"]

Only one ship remains and the Reach inside are wondering what is happening, when one of the walls explodes. Only the ones in space suits aren't killed by the depressurization. A group of Reach Scarabs enter the ship, tearing apart any pipe or conduit in the way. Some of the Reach soldiers attempt to put up pitiful defense, but the White Beetle leader screams out "Death to the Reach!" (Over the coms) and the massacre begins.

An energy beam strikes the shoulder of the Reach commander and explodes out his back. Some of technicians hide behind their consoles and pull large guns out of hidden compartments, but the Scrabs are too fast firing beams that pierce their chests and straight out their backs. The Reach, who are partially cybernetic, fall as their lights fade and smoke trails from their mouths. Some of the soldiers continue to shoot a wild barrage of energy beams, which causes the Beetles to dodge and take cover, but the Beetle's counterattack is far more accurate. As the soldiers are injured, they are left open to my powerful attacks that piece them completely.

"This was almost two easy, Rouge." says White to a smaller Red/Black Beetle.

"A lot easier than finding the last Fleet on Earth."

"You worry too much. If Cognito hasn't already killed them, this ship will lead us to them. The Reach would be destroyed forever!"

"No!" says a surviving Reach warrior caste dressed in red space armor. He's barely alive, his body fluids forming freezing spherical droplets in the failing gravity and environmental systems of the ship.

"Such Heroic Nonsense." says the White unit as he fires an armor-piercer into the dying desperate soldier.
