(In the hospital at U.A.)

Naruto sat alone in his bed in his darkened room, Sorahiko having left a few minutes ago to let him think in peace and quiet as he liked. His T.V. was on a news channel, muted though it was. His eyes, normally so bright and full of life, were dead and cold, his thoughts on the loss of his hidden wife.

"Nana…" he breathed out, thinking on the woman he loved enough to marry, even if in secret to protect each other. And beyond even her, the children they had together. Yes children, not just their son. They had two when they thought they were only due for one. A boy and a girl. A son and a daughter. Each as beautiful in his eyes as their mother.

The son with her beautiful deep blue, almost black hair. The daughter coming out with a gorgeous green hair color that was definitely a blend of his own fathers and his wife's hair. Seems the old man got one over on him after all with his hair winning out in the end after all his mothers posturing that her 'Uzumaki Red' was superior to his 'Namikaze Blond'. It made him smile to no end when he saw it.

Now they were gone, his son dead by his own grandsons hands, only to be further warped by his old foe. No doubt a vile plan to warp his and All Might's perception of the boy, so that they wouldn't be able to stop him and instead die at his hands. Seemed like one of the twisted thoughts of his old enemy regularly came up with.

His daughter lost so deep in the system of Japanese orphans that he would never find her. He didn't even have her name, as his wife had changed that when having her hidden for further security. Only she knew her new name, and Nana was… gone.

The door quietly clacked open, Chiyo wheeling in a cart loaded down with foods she knew he liked, having given Lunch Rush a list of foods to pick from, only to come back from checking on her other patients and guests and find he had taken it as an order request, making everything on the list, from no less then ten pounds of roasted beef, a huge bowl of hearty beef and barley stew, no less then three plates of different grilled meats, half of them on skewers and put into a well cut pineapple, a huge dish of cheesey casserole, all wrapped up with fresh baked breads galore and a hearty mug of Ale. When asked where he got the ale, he just winked and said that his hero might want one, and he had more if he wanted it.

As much as she disapproved of her patient drinking so early into his recovery, she had a feeling she knew what he and Sorahiko would be discussing, and that he would need it and want more, so she begrudgingly asked Lunch Rush to put the cask on the bottom of the cart. And to get more ready if he had it, before wheeling the cart to his room.

"I have your meal ready Naruto. Time for you too eat." Announced Chiyo, seeing the lights were turned down, she turned them back up, only to look at her old friend and frown at seeing him look so completely, utterly broken. She walked over to his side, before wrapping him up in a hug which he gently returned, before breaking down into choking sobs. He cried and cried, letting out his tears to one of his oldest friends and his medic.

Twenty minutes later, he finally marshaled up enough strength to stiffen his jaw and halt his tears, before pulling away and wiping his eyes dry. Turning back to Chiyo he open his mouth to thank her, only for her to put her finger over his lips and stop him from talking.

"You don't have to thank me, not for this. You needed a hug and needed to cry. I gave you one and let you do another in safety, that's what I'm here for. What else are friends for right?" she reminded him, before wheeling his meal over to his bed side. "Now sit up, you have a lot of food here, and I want you too try and eat most of it, if you can. It will all help you immensely with recovery."

"Right." He murmured, pulling himself into a sitting position on the side of his bed, before spotting the pale-yellow liquid in the large mug. Grabbing the mug, he brought it too his nose and gave it a whiff, before reeling back at the smell on it. Turning his head to look at Chiyo, he cocked an eyebrow at her. "Ale? Since when am I allowed that in here?"

"I assure you, it's a one-time thing. But with all you just learned, I felt you might need it." She groused out, before turning to walk back out. "I have other patients to attend to as well. Try and eat the food, please? Don't just drink the ale…"

"I'll eat, don't worry." Naruto Nodded, already reaching for the beef and barley stew. Taking out the large spoon meant for a man of his size, before he began, he called out before she left the room. "Chiyo? Thank you."

Smiling, she walked out of the room and into the hallway, closing the door behind her.

(An Hour later)

She opened the door to Naruto's room, spotting the cart picked clean of all food, the cask drained dry by the look of it. But no Naruto in his bed, nor anywhere else in the room. Sighing, she pulled out her phone to reach out to one of the people who knew him best.

"How is he?" came the concerned voice of the current number two hero.

"Not here, for starters." She retorted, he patience tested to the limit with foolish heroes and their disregard for their own health. "Go to the Valhalla Agency and bring him back here please. We both know that's where he likely is."

"Yeah, I'll go get him" accepted Endeavor, before hanging up the phone.

Snaping hers closed; she sighed under breath. "What's going through your head right now Naruto?"

(With Endeavor)

Pulling up outside his fathers Agency building, which even too this day was a preserved monument and functioning heroes bar, he walked in to the 'halls of Valhalla', the entryway a monument to dead heroes who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

Seeing the hand carved names, all done by a masters hand, always filled him with a sense of melancholy. So many dead heroes, and yet more were sure to be added eventually.

Shaking off his darker thoughts, he walked in and turned into the 'Black Thunder Mead Hall' the fully functioning bar/mead hall that was exclusive to heroes only. With its darker corners, simple and comfortable furniture, good selection, and complete refusal of paparazzi entry, it was very popular with heroes of all ages as a place to relax and wind down when you just wanted to socialize or drink.

Spotting his father perched in his chair at the end of the long table, surrounded by large mugs, he turned to the barkeep that maintained both the drinks and the property.

"Evening, Alastor." He greeted the red dressed man behind the bar, leaning his form down on the well-worn polished Oak surface.

"Well, well, well! The boss returns, wants to get absolutely hammered, no pun intended, and here comes the youngest son too pull him out, my, how amusing!" Gushed the red suited and haired man, a large grin on his face, with a small tumbler in one hand and a clean white rag in the other, which he used to polish and clean the glass before checking it, only to be satisfied and put it away, grabbing another one to clean as he did.

Nobody knew quite how old Alastor was, only that when the Black Thunder Mead Hall was made, Naruto put him in charge, and he's been there ever since. He didn't seem to age, and violently refused to have T.V.'s installed in the hall. He claimed it was inferior to the small old- fashioned radio he had sat on the back of the bar, which, to be fair, always kept the hall filled with relaxing music at just the right volume. And for some reason, no one ever, ever, started shit with Alastor. It just wasn't done.

"Yeah, well, how deep into his cups is he now?" He asked, dreading the answer he was about to get if his count was right. He counted at least fourteen mugs around him, each one drained dry.

"At least three casks in at this point, and still going strong too. He's got to have the best tolerance for alcohol I've ever seen in my life." Commented Alastor, sounding genuinely impressed with the amount his boss could drink.

"Unfortunately, this isn't born from his normal love for drink, so I'm going to have to ask you to cut him off." Responded Enji, a frown on his face at the amount he had drank. That much, and this quickly?!

"I'm aware, he told me why he was drinking tonight. A son he never knew, and a daughter forever lost, and a wife he'll never get back. Tragic…" Replied Alastor, a frown taking over his own face as he told him, before shaking his head. "But yes, he's had enough for the day. If he wants to drink more later, he's welcome too, but he's done for the day. Take him up to his room, my boy, and make sure he gets some sleep."

Nodding his head, Enji turned to confront his father, only for him to be stood beside him, leaning against the bar as well. Alastor had conveniently vanished when he looked back at him, leaving just him and his father.

"Heard what you said." Rumbled out Naruto, tilting back his mug to finish it off before setting it down on the bar. Turning his eyes on his son, he growled out "what gives you the right to cut me off?"

"how about giving a damn about you? Maybe that gives me the right!" Retorted Enji, a glare forming on his face. He knew how to deal with his father when he was in one of his moods.

"YOU HAVE NO RIGHT! NOT AFTER WHAT YOU DID!" Roared Naruto, shocking Enji at how quick he was to anger. Then what he said caught up to him, his frown deepened, and he turned back to face the bar.

"So, you know. How?" Questioned Enji, curious how his father learned what he did. As he asked, he reached over the bar to grab a bottle of his preferred brand he knew Alastor kept for him. Alcohol was going to be needed for this talk.

"That doesn't matter right now Enji! What the hell were you thinking!? How could you do that to her, to your children?!" shouted Naruto, his anger rising after not hearing his son deny it. where did he go so wrong in teaching his son how to behave, for him to turn into an abusive partner and father?!

Taking a long pull from the bottle, Enji let the Alcohol harden him, galvanize him against the fear he felt confronting his past. Shaking his head, he uttered out "I don't know…"

"Bullshit! You know damn well why you did it, now tell me!" Roared out Naruto, smashing his hands into the bar, only for him to slip off the bar and fall to the floor, where he picked himself up and just sat down to lean against the bar. All was quiet for a few minutes before Enji heard quiet sobbing coming from his father.

"I really am a failure, aren't I?" Naruto spoke, asking not Enji but himself.

"No, you're not responsible for my failures. Those are mine and mine alone." Responded Enji, only for Naruto to shake his head some more.

"But I am responsible, Enji! If I had just killed All for One back when I first met him, I wouldn't have been taken out for so long. Your mother, my wife, she'd still be alive! You'd have had two beautiful little siblings to be shining examples for! And I'd have been there to keep helping you, to guide you away from whatever set you down the path you went! What have we got now?! A pair of broken families, and liquor. Some heroes we are…" Naruto ranted, before trailing off at the end of his impromptu speech. "Humph, whatever you might feel Enji, the fact is I failed, and now we're both paying the price for it."

Sliding down to sit beside his father, he took another long pull from the bottle. Offering it to his father, he took it and took a quick swig from the bottle, before handing it back to him.

"Your taste in alcohol is still shit."

Snorting his laughter out, Enji took another pull from the bottle. Setting it down, he set his hands on his knees and really looked deep, trying to find the answer too his lifelong quest.

"I guess, when you 'died', and I saw other people take the number one title all over, I got angry. Who were they to lay claim to your position? I figured if you couldn't hold the world's number one position, then your son would hold Japan's at least. Then along comes All Might. And suddenly, there's this impassable chasm between me and number one, that only gets wider the longer things go on. I got desperate, and then I got angry. Blindingly so. And by the time I snapped out of the haze. It was too late; the damage had been done. Rei, my lovely wife, the Sinmara to my Surtr, I broke her in my fury, and when she lashed out at our children, at shoto, I sent her away, discarded her like yesterday's trash. I hurt her, broke her, then threw her away…"

"Our oldest, Toya, he had a body meant for an ice quirk, but he inherited even hotter flames then mine. I didn't care, I had a son to train! A whole new legacy to your name. And we trained, we worked so hard to surpass every limit he had. I felt nothing but pride at how strong he was, how hard he worked to overcome his limits and weaknesses. I filled his head with nothing but wanting to be a hero. Only for the haze to descend and when Shoto was born, I told him to stop. That he couldn't be a hero. He didn't listen, he kept trying. And he burned himself to ash in the process. All we had left to bury was a piece of his jaw."

"Fuyumi, Natsuo, I ignored them, treated them like they weren't worth anything. Took away the mother they loved, kept them from their little bother, am directly responsible for what happened to their older brother. They have every reason to hate me."

"Shoto, gods, my poor shoto. I think I broke him too. Just not the same way I did his mother. Kept him from his siblings, brutal training, took away his mother after I broke her enough for her to hurt him. I think I just about ruined him. That is until his friends got to him. He's better now. And stronger then ever for it. All of that, without me… he doesn't need me, none of them do, but they do need their mother back. I know that now." He wrapped up, turning to look at his father, only to find him staring at him, hard.

"Well, clearly, you've given it some thought. Now, how are you going to fix it is the next question?" he asked, turning to stare at the floor. Waiting for his son's next words.

"I've got no idea; I don't think I can." Replied Enji, staring at the floor in between his legs, his forehead resting on his arms.

Naruto stood at that, brushing off his pants as he did. Turning to Enji, he offered him a hand. Taking it, Enji found himself pulled to his feet, before his father pulled him into a hug.

"A good place to start, in my own opinion, would be apologizing to your wife, and try to win her back. Then you can work on your kids."

(An hour later)

Enji walked up to the scariest door in his life. He knew it well, having committed the number to memory. Taking a deep breath, and mustering his courage, he reached out and knocked on the door.

"Enter." Came the soft call from within.

Gods her voice hadn't changed a bit. The same soft tone that early in their relationship would have him wrapped around her finger. He nearly froze at that, before his heart began to beat hard in his chest. 'You WILL go in there' It seemed to force him to open the door. As it opened, he saw her.

By the Gods, he saw her.

She hadn't changed a bit. A few more wrinkles there, a small laugh line there, but if you were to ask Enji, she had only grew more beautiful. Her simple clothes, so drab in the eyes of many, looked like they were made by divine maidens on her. She was still, just so perfect.

"Just leave the towels over there please, I'll put them away later." She called not having turned away from the window she was facing, enjoying the mid-afternoon sun on her beautiful skin.

"… Hello, my Sinmara."

The silence seemed to stretch into eternity, before she turned her head to look at him. And she saw him.

Gods had it been so long?

To Rei, it looked as if her husband had finally returned to her. Not the monster he became, but the man he was. His eyes, the ones so formerly full of fury, were soft again. They looked like placid pools of water, not the hardened chips the once were. He wasn't frowning either but looked absolutely stunned. And most of all, most of all, she could feel it. she could feel her husband again, not the monster Endeavor.

"… Hello, my Surtr."

When he heard that, Enji collapsed. He threw himself at her feet, muttering apology after apology, asking, no begging, her for her forgiveness. He continued to press his head to the ground at her feet, refusing himself to be worthy to even glance at her till she forgave him.

"Enji, please." She began, lifting his head up, wanting to look him in the eye when she asked him for her first request of him in ten years. When he would finally meet her eyes, she merely smiled and asked him a simple question.

"Can I have a hug from my husband?"

She found herself enveloped in his arms not a heartbeat later, sat on his lap just like they used to. She felt the natural heat he put off, still so warm, his arms so protecting, not like the hands of the monster. She snuggled into him when they stopped moving, smiling when she heard his breath hitch when she did, before she felt his chest shake with repressed tremors. Looking up she was surprised at what she saw. Enji had tears streaming down his face, a bright smile covering his face.

Smiling she reached up to cup his face, drawing his attention back to her. Smiling she told him what she knew he needed to hear.

"I still love you, Enji. Do you still love me?"

The words had barely left her lips before she found herself pulled up into heart wrenching kiss from her husband. He poured every ounce of love and care he had for her into that kiss, leaving his heart bared open to her. Pulling away when he was out of breath, he gave his answer.

"With every bone in my body, and every breath I have to give."

Smiling she gave him what he needed.

"Then you are forgiven."

Enji Todoroki broke into tears.

AND SCENE! Le Gasp, A double update?! Don't expect to many of these, I have no idea what's come over me lately. I'm just typing up a storm, trying to put ideas to paper, or plastic as it were. Anyway, were seeing shades of Ragnarök Thor here, what with the drunken melancholy and anger, but Naruto's just grieving, not burying his pain in constant booze. Every man needs booze every now and then. Some situations just call for it.

Anyway, in other news imma shamelessly plug myself now. I recently started streaming on twitch! My name there is Hadradajust, if you got a twitch account and feel like supporting me, drop a follow and hop into stream every now and then to chill. I mostly play single player survival games and story driven games, due to mediocre internet right now, but I hope to play some multiplayer survival soon if I can get a better I.S.P. thanks for your time!

So, if you liked the story, leave a comment! It always helps me to read some positive reviews and constructive criticisms are always helpful. Any flamers will be used to cook well-done steaks for the hunters of Bherna village, the Soaratorium, Astera, Seliana, Kamura village and Elgado outpost. Keep your stamina up folks!
