Sam pov

Sam did not know how this happened, but the sight before her was something she never expected to face. Well, never before she joined, Stargate. After it, she knew it was possible but never thought it would pass.

Here she was, gods know where, surrounded by these creatures, half her height, but their technology was beyond her. It looked like almost magic; hundreds of these creatures could pop in and out from one place to another in the blink of a eye, the technology they must be using.

It all started four days ago when she woke up feeling like the whole world was shaking. It took her some time to realize that it was not in her head, the entire place was shaking, from the floor to the ceiling and the walls. As Sam looked around, she stared at two big round eyes. As she looked at the figure to which these eyes were attached. She hurriedly backed away, or crawled away would be a better description, as she did not have the strength even to sit up.

The being was around three to four feet tall and had a human structure with a long nose and large ears. The shock of finding herself in a strange place or a cave, Sam corrected herself. She really looked around taking everything in for the first time after being knocked unconscious in her base by that alien, and now she found herself in front of the peculiar beings ,which was too much for her. She felt herself sleeping away, but being held up by his arm, she felt slightly better.

Sam had still, to this day, not figured out how that alien had gotten his hand on the weapon he used on them. He might have had it all along in some cloaking device, that rendered it invisible. Although, it was still only theoretically suggested on Earth. Some advanced races of which this alien was part of must have perfected it. However, it still did not answer how it did not register to touch.

She was sure that the alien was thoroughly searched after his surgery and was continuously monitored during his stay in captivity. If he had this device, why had he not used it earlier? He had been conscious for almost five months before his escape. Sam shook herself out of this train of thought and again focused on the day. She woke up

The being did not seem interested in her state and was muttering, " So the Muggle is waked after two days. Kreacher was feeling slightly bored with nothing to do. Master stunning magic must have been too much for her. Of course, the master is mighty."

Sam did not reply. She was still stunned after finding herself in a completely different area and hearing that she had been unconscious for almost two days. Moreover, the cave in which they were, was still shaking. Sam took some comfort in that the being was not bothered by this shaking.

Almost half an hour after Sam had woken up from her, let's say, forced slumber. The cave stopped shaking with a big jerk, the type you feel when your plane has a rough landing.

There were multiple pops around her, and more of these creatures/being appeared. They seemed to be celebrating with smiles all around. There was even back thumping going around. Some looked a little tired, but the happiness on their faces negated it.

As Sam looked around and listened, she was again stunned that this creature spoke English, broken English, but English nonetheless. Even her guard joined in the celebration, which she later learned was rare.

The celebration lasted for some time, but after it, they all got to work defrosting the cave. Sam remembered that she was puzzled at how slow and methodical they were about it, only removing small chunks at a time, especially the wall. In contrast, she had seen them remove large stones from the floor without any difficulty.

Back to the present

All the defrosting was finished, and they removed all the water. As far as Sam can tell, all the water generated due to the deicing process was direct to the large crater outside. See, now understand why they were so slow and methodical. What she was thinking as a cave was not a cave at all but an alien structure that had been built in the past and had been abdomen for some time, judging by its icing.

Now you could not tell. It was the same place which Sam thought was a cave covered in ice. All the ice was gone, and the floor wall had been uncovered after being buried in ice for so long.

All the machines had also been uncovered and started coming to life; the machine was still functioning after so much time had passed, and the condition they were in was a statement to the builders of this machine. She could tell that these beings were earlier little hesitant about using it and were trying to learn about it. These beings must have a steep learning curve because now, only in a few days, they had started using this machine like there back of their hand.

Sam again sighed in her designated area, around forty-eight square feet, which was alright, considering she had three courses of delicious meals daily. She had not tasted such delicious food anywhere.

It's not like Sam had not tried to escape from here, but her guard/ prison master had appeared before she could travel a couple of meters. As if he could read her mind, which she thought should not be possible. She herself was unsure about her escape and decided to try it only 5 minutes earlier.

He looked at her angrily and levitated her back to her corner, then popped into the box and brought a choker out, which was put around her neck, all while muttering, " Muggle trying to escape on Kreacher watch. Let her try again and see what happens. What would Kreacher poor Mistress say."

One good thing that came after she was forced to wear the choker was that she was allowed more freedom to move around the alien base. She was still not allowed to touch anything unsupervised but could now explore this base to her heart's content, which is what she did. The inner scientist in her was marvelling at the technology on display at this place.

When she found the Stargate out, she was blown again. This Stargate was an upgraded version of the one they had on the base, and the dialling device was so compact. They had to use big computers for their interface with the Stargate. Sam had spent all her days examining the Stargate and its interface.

Although her guard always supervised her. He let her do what she wanted with it. It seemed to Sam that he was constantly bored due to his old age, and she provided him with something to do.

There were two places that she was not allowed, one being a chamber on the third floor which was guarded by two of these creatures constantly, and the bottom floor, earlier she was allowed there, but after these beings had brought a massive block of ice, her access to that place same to be revoked.

Sam would go back to her corner at night to sleep, spending most of her time studying Stargate. She had tried to make her corner more comfortable by digging around and making a bed to lie down more comfortably. When her guard saw what she was trying to do, he conjured a single bed for her, muttering, "Muggle need so many things, oh what his poor Mistress say."

Sam had figured that her old guard was not right in his mind but had come to like his unique muttering as she spent more time with him. Her old guard was the only one who interacted with her and cared for her need. Sam thought with a blush. He brought her food and clean clothes and seemed to know her every requirement before she could think about it, even her periods.

Though there were hundreds of these creatures doing their work, none of them seemed to pay her any mind and treated her like she was a decoration.

They would continue their work or the meeting even if she passed from that area. From what she could tell, some repair works were still going around in this base. The base had transformed entirely around her. It was tidy. No spec of dirt could be found anywhere. She did not think the operation theatre of the top hospitals was this clean.

One night while lying in her bed, a thought occurred that she had not felt any cold her entire time here, not when the floor she was sleeping on was made of ice. What sort of technology this creature had to make this possible? Where did the alien attack her in her base go, and how did she get here?

On the eighth day, she got the answer of at least alien part. It was like any ordinary day if you could call her life usual anymore. After waking up, she went to where Stargate was and lost herself studying and trying to understand it. At the same time, she was examining the Stargate. Sam's attention was drawn to Kreacher, who, until a few seconds ago, was lazing around and keeping an eye on her as she worked on Stargate had stood up straight. Sam quickly backed away from the Stargate, thinking she had done something which has angered the elf, but as she looked at him, there was a smile on his face.

"Master is going to wake up from that glowing chair; we must be there," Kreacher said, and without giving her any time even to think or reply, he grabbed her, and they both disappeared with a pop. When she appeared, she quickly fell on her knees, trying to balance after the uncountable journey. After she righted herself, she saw more of Kreacher's kind appear with a pop; she must be in the Chambers, which was unfamiliar to her. This must be the chamber where she was not allowed in, as she had checked all the other places on this base.

The reason for her not being allowed became clear as there was a chair on a platform on which the alien was sitting and looked unconscious. The chair was glowing now she understood where it got its name. As all of them to stood there, the light coming out of the chair seemed to dim, and when the light disappeared, the alien opened his eyes.
