3rd Person (P.O.V)
Winter had her head on top of Jasper's cool chest, their legs intertwined with a blanket wrapped around them as she ran her finger across some of his bite marks.
Jasper phone started going off again for the third time in an hour. "Darling you need to talk to your dad he's been worried about you". He said as Winter pulled away sitting up, holding the blanket over her chest. Her snow white hair cascading down her back.
"I know babe, I just don't know what to say before moving to Forks Bella and I, we had a decent relationship since arriving our relationship has crashed and burned in such a short period of time, and never once did I think my sister would actually attack me. I froze Jaz she took me by surprise anyone who would've seen it probably would've got me a coward for not fighting back in a moment of shock". Winter said resting her chin on her knee lost in thought.
Jasper sat up pressing a cool kiss to winter shoulder, causing her to turn her head, looking into his golden eyes. "Your not a coward, your human darling anybody would have been taken by surprise. Don't beat yourself up over it just call your dad. He was really worried about you. I know it's been a difficult week but I'm at your side and always will be. I promise if I have to I'll pack up our stuff and we will take off anywhere you want". Jasper said making Winter smile as she felt a small weight left of her shoulders, knowing with her mate at her side she was never alone.
"I know I can always count on you to be at my side". Winter said deciding to metaphorically, grab her life by the horns and to do what she has to do. "I think it's best if I go see my dad and talk to him in person. I need to know what's going on and see if I know whether or not I'm going to have to move out because I refuse to live in the same house as Bella". Winter said but she was worried she didn't want to force her dad to choose between them.
She knew they had a strong relationship, but she could never imagine putting her dad in that type of position. With her mind made up, she got out of bed.
"I'll go with you darling will face whatever it is together". Jasper said looking at his mate naked body, having to control himself to not take her again where she stood.
"Alright". Winter said smiling as she leaned over placing a light kiss on his lips before going to get ready.
It was a few hours later that Winter and Jasper stood in front of the swan residence. Charlie police cruiser stood in the driveway, hand-in-hand the mated couple walked up the stairs.
"Jasper I don't know if I can do this". Winter said worry, Many people would probably think her a coward, but she didn't want to put her father in a difficult position to choose between her and her sister.
She hated to say it but unfortunately, when it came to their mom, it was always about Bella and she lived in her sister shadow. She loved coming every summer without her sister, as her father's attention was only on her. She hated going back to Phoenix after every holiday.
"I'll be here with you darling". Jasper said lifting up their intertwine hands and kissing the back of her hand.
"Alright, I can do think". Winter said taking a deep breath before lifting her opposite hand and knocking on the door. Since she left in a hurry the day Bella attacked her. she had forgotten her house key.
It only took a few seconds for the door to be pulled open, a rather disheveled Charlie Swan opened the front to see his youngest daughter standing there her lip still split but starting to heal. He had a worried but relieved expression on his face when he pulled her into his arms, her hand still intertwine with Jasper's.
"Hi daddy". Winter said tearfully in his chest.
"I've been so worried about you snowflake". Charlie said feeling his daughter flinch a little bit at the end.
Jasper squeezed his mate's hand as he felt her heart jumped at her nickname. The one Edward called her when he had almost killed her that night. So far he's the only one who call her that particular nickname without getting that sort of reaction.
Charlie pulled away looking at Winter in concern. "Is Bella here?". Winter asked wanting to divert her dad's attention.
"Winter!!!". Renee voice was heard before she appeared in the doorway, taking her youngest daughter by surprise before Charlie couldn't respond.
"Mom, what are you doing here?". Winter asked her eyes widened.
"I've been staying with your dad since the day I arrived waiting for you to get in touch with him. I couldn't leave without seeing you sweetheart". Renee said pulled her youngest into a hug. "I love you Winter and I'm sorry if my pass action said otherwise". Renee whispered before pulling away.
"I love you too mom". Winter said as tears filled her eyes but she stop her tears from falling because she has cried enough.
"Come on princess let's take this conversation inside". Charlie said, moving out of the way, letting the mated couple enter the house as he saw Winter refused to let go of Jasper's hand.
Once jackets were removed, everyone entered the living room, Jasper sat with Winter on the couch, Charlie in his favorite seat, and Renee opposite him.
"What going to happen to Bella?". Winter asked exchanging glances with her parents. Much to her dismay Bella was still her sister and a tiny part will always care for her, but she cut her off the day she attacked her. She's mostly asking for her parents benefit.
"Did Jasper tell you about our phone call the other day?". Charlie asked knowing the couple probably told each other everything.
"Yea, he said she was getting a evaluated and you plan on sending her to live with Mom in Florida". Winter said confused from the looks her parents were giving each other.
"Well after a few more meeting with her doctor and hashing out the details. Bella will be a resident of the Jacksonville psychiatric facility for probably a year or more instead of the six months we were told. She won't talk to anyone unless it's a threat. She keeps muttering how she was supposed to live forever, and Edward was supposed to be hers. How she would have become a beautiful vampire instead of an ordinary human". Charlie explained with a sad expression on his face. He wouldn't see his daughter for a long time.
Her doctors recommended that the only outside person who would be able to see Bella would be Renee. When see saw her parents this morning after her evaluation, She tried to attacked Charlie, Accusing him of favoring Winter and if she ever saw her sister again she would killed her for taking away what was hers.
"Do you think she will recover?". Winter asked looking at her parents.
"We don't know sweetheart. Bella has been diagnosed with the first signs of being a sociopath". Renee said heartbroken as she never saw the sign of anything being wrong with her daughter.
"A sociopath?". Winter asked in shock.
"Yes, Bella will be transported to Jacksonville in two days". Renee sighed knowing how much she failed both of her girl's.
Winter sat numb against Jasper as she took in all the information her parents gave her. Thinking back to a few incidences in their childhood there were a sign or two, but no major red flags until she met Edward.
Winter was brought out of her thoughts by her dad's voice. "The main doctor tried to be optimistic, but in all honesty we aren't sure if Bella will ever be the same again, even with her new medication regimen, it only seems to make her angrier". Charlie said as he remembered hatred he saw in Bella's eyes when she saw him.
"I'm sorry dad and mom. From the bottom of my heart I hope Bella does get better but I never want to see her again. We were sisters by chance not by choice and it's better if we stay out of each others lives". Winter said sadly looking at her parents. She knows it may seem heartless but it's for the better because eventually she will have to walk away from her family her dad is still up for debate.
Winter loves her family but unfortunately she can easily walk away from them but not her father. He is her world and the only family she would want at her side in her new life someday.
"We understand sweetheart, as much as it pains us as parents it's your decision, and we will support you just as we are supporting Bella. Even if we are divided we will do our best at both your sides". Renee said even though she doesn't fully understand what's been going on it's best to just move forward.
"I love you guys I know it's hard but thanks for understanding". Winter said for the first time since surviving, she released jaspers him to embrace both of her. "Is it alright if I stay with Jasper family a few more days?? I probably have homework to catch up on and I also have a therapist appointment with Carlisle". Winter said as she knew besides Carlisle being a ER doctor, he had a degree in psychology.
"Alright princess, I don't see a problem with it but I know your mom wants to have lunch with you before she leaves on Saturday". Charlie said looking at Renee who smiled.
"What about tomorrow mom??". Winter asked and she just wanted a couple of hours to digest everything she was told.
"Sounds great baby". Renee said smiling as she rarely had alone time with Winter.
"Alright, I'll call you tonight to hash out the details and I'll go back to school after the weekend is over. I probably have a lot of work to make up with it being the end of the year and prom is next week". Winter said groaning knowing it's going to be a stressful week, but looking over at Jasper she smirked at knewing she could get away with a couple of hours of distraction.
"Good thing I have a way up to get a release of any stress". Winter muttered looking at Jasper who's eyes were widen as he heard what she said and could feel the lust rolling off of her.
Winter said goodbye to her parents before going up to her room to pack a bag. She made sure she had enough clothes to last her until Monday and grab a few other items she would wanted. She sighed of her upcoming lunch with her mom and make up work for school.
