Chapter 1: Introducing a new Member

A/N: Disclaimer: I do not own Stargate SG1 or Danny Phantom characters or original storylines, all right go to the original creators of both series (Stargate SG1: Brad Wright & Jonathan Glassner. Danny Phantom: Butch Hartman.). I only own the plot and any characters created for this fanfic.

Airman First Class Daniel Fenton was a bit nervous as he was waiting for a guide to show him around the base, taking him to the officer he was supposed to be reporting to. The instructions he had been given referenced a General Hammond, but the Airman wasn't sure if he was actually supposed to report to the General, or if his name was the default for the Cheyanne mountain base. What he was sure of was that he had been told by the MPs that he was to wait by his car.

He kept a careful eye out, observing his surroundings for his guide, as well as anyone or thing that may have been out of place. Between growing up as Amity Park's ghostly superhero and his time up to this point in the Air Force, he was wary of any potential dangers he may come across. He watched everyone that looked like they were walking towards him for a moment, trying to tell which one was supposed to be his guide. He was a little surprised when a man who looked like a civilian dressed in one of the different uniforms he'd seen others wearing during his people watching was the one to approach him.

"Hi, I'm Dr. Daniel Jackson. Are you the new transfer?" The man asked when he reached Danny. He had brown hair that was out of regulation length and glasses.

"Doctor Jackson? Yes Sir. Airman First Class Daniel Fenton reporting to duty." Was Danny's response.

"Ah, yes. I'm a doctor of Archaeology. I actually volunteered to be your guide when I heard you grew up in Amity Park. I was interested in knowing the truth behind the rumors of it being the most haunted city in the US." Daniel pushed his glasses higher up his nose.

"I don't mind telling you about it, though a lot of what I saw growing up is a little unbelievable." Danny was used to people being curious about his hometown when they learned where he was from.

"I have come across my share of unbelievable things, if that helps. Why don't you tell me in the elevator." They started walking deeper into the base to find the elevators Daniel had mentioned. "What is your preferred name that you go by? Having 2 Daniel's might get a bit confusing for some people."

"I prefer to go by Danny, though I'm not opposed to Ghost Boy. It was a nickname given to me back in boot camp when the others learned I was from Amity." Though Danny had also gotten used to hearing it when he was in his Phantom form in high school, he didn't feel the need to mention that to anyone who didn't already know.

"Danny or Ghost Boy? I'll keep that in mind." They had made it to the elevator by the time Daniel could come up with his first question, deciding to start with something simple. "So, is Amity really the most haunted city in America?"

"I haven't seen enough of the country to say with certainty that it is the most haunted, but it is probably up there." Danny admitted.

"That must have made things interesting growing up."

"You could say that, especially with my parents being ghost hunters. I was a favorite target for bullies and ghosts both." Danny told the doctor, not technically lying.

"You were attacked by ghosts?!? Because of your parents?! I didn't realize ghosts were capable of things like that! Unless you're referring to what is commonly considered to be a poltergeist?" Dr Jackson asked, thinking of what he knew about ghosts. It wasn't a topic that had ever really interested him in the past, but he used to get lumped together with paranormal investigators before joining the SGC, so he knew of a few things regarding ghosts.

"Not exactly. These ghosts are different than the ones you see in all those ghost hunter/paranormal investigator shows. The ghosts from Amity Park are a bit more solid than all that. Ask anyone who had to pay for the property damage repairs after a ghost fight."

"If they're so dangerous, why wasn't the military called in?" Dr Jackson was incredulous about what he was hearing.

"Two words, ghost attack. As soon as the word ghost starts getting thrown around, credibility goes down. Though the Government did send in an organization that they created to hunt down the ghosts. They then shut down the organization after realizing they were causing more people to get hurt, instead of putting an end to the problem." Danny rolled his eyes as he mentioned the Guys in White.

"Seriously? And they didn't try anything else?"

"The civilian ghost hunters pretty much had the situation under control at that point, so they didn't see the need to spend anymore money on a problem they still weren't convinced existed." Danny explained. "That was my Junior year of high school, and things have remained fairly calm since." Danny didn't mention his part in the peace Amity Park finally reached with the Ghosts from the Ghost Zone.

Daniel Jackson continued to ask Airman Fenton questions on ghosts and how his parents 'fought' them. Daniel wasn't sure he believed that the Airman had actually come across actual ghosts, but he was willing to believe that there was something going on in Amity Park at one point. He hoped to have a chance to find out what it was exactly. Especially if things had died down the way Danny had said.

When they reached General Hammond's office where he was waiting with Colonel Jack O'Neil, who he was on SG1 with, Daniel was surprised to see the second man there. "General Hammond, Colonel O'Neil, I brought Airman Fenton."

"Airman First Class Daniel Fenton, reporting for duty sirs." Danny introduced himself with a salute when he stepped in the room behind the doctor.

"At ease Airman. I'm General George Hammond, commander of the SGC. This is Colonel Jack O'Neil. I plan to have you temporarily join his team till I can find a better place for you. Your previous Commanding officer had high praise for you when he recommended your transfer to me."

"He did?" The Airman looked surprised.

"Yes, he did. You and your wife arrived yesterday, correct? How are you settling into your base housing?" The General asked.

"Sam loves the place, we just were hoping our things would have arrived yesterday as well." Was the response.

"One of the frustrating parts of moving, but if things go well, this might be your last move for a while." General Hammond sympathized. "For now, Colonel O'Niel and Dr Jackson can introduce you to the rest of SG1. Dismissed."

"Thank you Sir!" Danny replied. Both the Colonel and Aiman saluted the General before leaving. Daniel Jackson waved as he followed them out the door.

"Alright kid, let's go find the others. Then I want to get an idea of what all you can do. Jackson, coming?" Colonel O'Neil said over his shoulder at both men following him out of the General's office.

"Yes, Sir" Was Danny's reply as Dr Jackson said, "Right behind you."

The three men made their way into a sparring arena where two people were already waiting. One was a woman with short blond hair while the other was a tall, black man wearing a black knit hat. Danny observed both, figuring they were probably members of SG1, the team he had been temporarily assigned to. He had a feeling that he was going to have to spar against at least one of the members of SG1, sighing at the pain that was going to be. He always held back when sparring against humans, trying to seem average in his abilities. At least average for someone with military training.

As Colonel O'Neil introduced the people in the room and Captain Samantha Carter and Teal'C, Danny was trying to figure out why the black man had two auras. Seeing auras was one of his newer abilities that has served him fairly well, once he figured out what he was seeing. Teal'C's main aura was strong and filled with colors that he learned to associate with Loyalty and Honorability as well as something else he couldn't place. The second was a gross, sick color that Danny didn't recognize, centered around the man's stomach area. He wondered if it was from some kind of parasite, though it had to be pretty strong for Danny to see its aura while it was inside of someone.

"Alright kids, here's how this is going to go, Carter, I want you to spar with Fenton first. Airman, I hope you're willing to hit a girl without holding back." Colonel O'Neil started giving out instructions after the introductions.

Sam looked at the kid she was supposed to spar with, he was tall with slightly broad shoulders. He couldn't be more than 22, making him the youngest person to ever officially join SG1, even for a short stint of time. She planned to ask the Colonel about it later.

"Don't worry, my wife and mom would kill me if they ever heard I held back against someone because they were a woman." Airman Fenton joked.

"Good, now did you bring a change of clothes with you?" O'Neil asked, smirking at the kid's joke.

"Yes Sir, I have both civies and PT gear in my car."

"Alright, why don't both Daniels go and get Airman Fenton's gear from his car." Colonel O'Neil directed. Both men left the room, the older Daniel rolling his eyes.

As soon as the door closed behind both men, Sam and Teal'C turned towards the Colonel, ready to ask him about their new team member. "Before you ask, this was Hammond's idea. The kid comes highly recommended by his previous commanding officer. Apparently the kid comes from a town with some weird stuff going on. Some of which followed him when he enlisted."

"What kind of weird stuff are we talking about, Sir?" Sam asked.

"Kid's from a literal ghost town, is what I hear from the rumors. Hammond wants us to try and figure out what is going on and whether or not the kid is able to be a valuable part of the SGC before giving him a permanent assignment."O'Neil explained to the present members of his team. "Daniel and the kid already seem to be getting close, they were talking about ghosts as they arrived at the General's office earlier."
