A/N: So I got this idea from a dream of mine the other day, I've already crossposted on Tumblr and A03 so thought I would add it on here. Yes I literally dream about the characters I write, you know you've been writing too much fan fiction when even the characters slip into the dream world, while your supposed to be asleep. Anyway hope you enjoy my weird ass idea from my dream! Don't forget to comment or favourite if you reach the end as FFN still hasn't fixed the buggy Stat Page and I have no other way of knowing whether someone's read my fic or not. Thanks! On with the fic.
Eivor stood on the Longship as it continued to sail and meander through the river, she was on a mission to sort something out having just killed some guards earlier on only minutes ago.
She walked towards the sail as Oswald watched her hanging at the back of the longship. Finnr was also there hanging at the back too as well.
Eivor lifted the sail up as the crew continued sailing and making their way down the river .
Oswald watched Eivor walk back towards him as he shifted feet to feet nervously , balancing on the edge of the longships edge at the back of the ship.
He knew he wanted to give Eivor a gift, but Valdis was watching and always scrutinising him from the back so he had to be careful.
Gathering up his nerves and courage, he walked back towards deck where Eivor was and approached her.
"Eivor" he started nervously as she turned to look at him while he hid the gift behind his back.
"Since our time in East Anglia is coming to a close, I thought I would give you this as a gift to remember me by"
Oswald unhid the gift as he took it out in front of him, it was wrapped inside a big envelope .
She opened the weird looking paper only to be shocked and surprised by the amount of letters that were inside. There were several trinkets and items of his on there as well, items that obviously meant a lot to him but he was giving it to her.
"Read it" he spoke breaking her attention
Eivor picked up one of The envelopes , as she felt Valdis' suspicious and frowning eyes burning onto her from afar.
The envelope was scrawled in messy and illegible handwriting as she read it's content. She skimmed through the words briefly as she picked up bits and pieces such as "Finnr" and how much he liked her and his secret feelings for her as she picked up a few others saying the same thing.
"I love you" she leant onto his ear whispering as he nodded happily and giddily back to her .
Without warning he pulled her closer holding her by the waist as he proceeded to nuzzle onto her neck planting kisses all over her neck as he peppered her neck with lots of soft kisses
"Stop! Valdis could see we need to be careful!" She tried to scold him but couldn't help smile and chuckle
Oswald pulled back giddy as he looked to see an amused Eivor who was clearly enjoying herself .
"Your right, as much as I would like to continue further we do need to be careful, now shall we get back to the others?"
Eivor nodded as he gently squeezed her hand and they returned to the main deck where everybody could see them.
They tried to pretend that nothing had happened, staying on Separate sides of the ship not talking. The whole time Valdis stared at them having a bad feeling in her gut, as she felt disdainful jealousy build up. She had her suspicions after all that something was going on with the pair, Why were they acting so unusual and edgy to each other?
Instead she chose not to say anything but to quietly show her disapproval and watch from a distance. After all she and Oswald weren't married yet, only engaged so he technically wasn't cheating. Leaving her hopeless and unable to say anything.
The ship continued sailing for its destination with no words or actions said from anyone else for the rest of the journey.
A/N:Lol just realised how this wouldn't make sense, the longship in reality is too small for Eivor and Oswald to find a hidden space to secretly have a rendevous, but that's what happens when you write based on dreams right? It don't ends up not making sense. For a second I forgot this wasn't black flag or the pirate age, where the ship was far bigger and they could hide like below deck to do that. Lol. Oops just ignore the very obvious plot hole that's literally right in front of your faces.
And Poor Valdis, I heard from someone that even married men could cheat in those days and the woman couldn't say or do anything about it back then. It was acceptable for a married man to have more than one partner, and in this story Oswald wasn't married yet as the wedding hadn't happened yet. So Poor Valdis was left helpless even though she could sense something fishy going on. Unfortunately that was the way it was for women back then. Even though I ship Eivor and Oswald more, I still feel sorry for her because of that.
Anyway hope you enjoyed this fic even though it was a cheating one. Don't forget to comment and favourite if you did.
