Bundle of Bunnies

Mr. and Mrs. Potter of Number Seven Godric's Hollow were proud to say that they were perfectly special, thank you very much. They were the first people you'd expect to be involved in anything strange or mysterious.

Mr. Potter, was a celebrated Auror, working as the head of Auror corps for the British Ministry of Magic. He was the man-who-conquered, the boy-who-lived, and the proud husband of one Daphne Isobella Greengrass.

Their romance had come unexpectedly, both to their friends and family and the world as a whole.

The boy-who-lived loving a consummate Slytherin was something Rita Skeeter could never miss spinning a story about.

They had two lovely children, aged five and seven respectively. And a third, who was not theirs— or even a child, but they loved her all the same.

"Don't make a ruckus you lot!" Daphne's voice rang through the house making Harry's eyes snap open.

He slowly sat up on the couch, cracking his neck.

"What's happening?" He asked as Daphne walked out, dressed in a long black robe topped with a tall hat.

"The kids are getting into their costumes," Daphne plopped down next to Harry.

"All of them?" Harry asked.

"All of them," Daphne leaned onto his shoulder. "But there is still time. The sun is yet to set."

"You want to take it to the bedroom?" Harry's lips twisted into a grin.

Daphne scowled, slapping him on the back of his head.

"That's not what I meant," she tutted irritably. "I meant to visit your parents like we always do."

Harry felt a sharp stab beneath his ribs.

"I don't know why you celebrate Halloween," Daphne murmured after a moment. "You hate Halloween."

"Just because I dislike something, doesn't mean we shouldn't let our kids enjoy it," Harry twirled a curl of Daphne's blonde hair between his fingers. "It is a festival, Daph."

Daphne hummed against his chest. "We should get going if we want to make it back in time."

"And leave the house to them?" Harry chuckled. "There are chances we will find the house on fire when we get back."

Daphne's eyes darkened. "They better not. I suppose Lily and Matthew would keep her under control."

Harry's lips curled into a smile. "Let's hope so. Even Teddy is at Hogwarts this year."

"All the reason to be done with it faster," Daphne stood up, extending her hand. "Let's go."

Harry took her hand and the world twisted. A sharp crack rang through the air as Harry and Daphne appeared in a graveyard.

Tombstones rose all around, bathed in the orange pink glow of the setting sun.

"Hey mum and dad," Harry knelt at the tombstone of his parents, Daphne standing behind him. "I hope you're hearing us. Not much happened this year. I was made the head of the Auror force. I wish you had been here… to see it happen."

"They would've been proud of you, honey," Daphne squeezed his shoulder. "Tell them about Rose. And Neville and Hannah."

"Oh, of course," Harry gave Daphne a smile. "Hermione had another baby. They've named her Rose and I am her godfather. Neville and Hannah finally got married and I was the best man at their wedding. I wish you were here for all of it."

With a wave of his wand, a ring of lilies appeared over their graves.

Daphne squeezed his shoulder and Harry got to his feet, dusting his trousers. Harry glanced at their tombstones, his fingers curling around Daphne's.

"Let's go, Daphne." He took her arm and the world squeezed around them.

They reappeared in their living room, in front of a burning couch. Daphne screamed while Harry drew his wand.

"Aguamenti!" A torrent of water splashed on the flames and steam rose, its white tendrils curling into spirals and disappearing.

"What the hell, Tori!?" Daphne shouted at her sister who peeked out of the kitchen door, her eyes wide.

"It was her," Astoria pointed at Lily. "She took my wand."

"Lily is four," Daphne said. "You're supposed to be an adult, Tori."

"In my defense, I was left unsupervised," Astoria's lips drew into a pout and her eyes widened.

"That hasn't worked since you were Lily's age," Daphne snipped. "How could you be so careless?"

Astoria shrunk while Matthew and Lily looked between the sisters.

Harry laid a hand on Daphne's shoulder. "Daphne, let it be. It is Halloween, let's not ruin it."

"Yes," Astoria beamed, hopping out of her spot behind the door.

"What the bloody hell do you think you're wearing?" Daphne screeched, silver sparks bursting from her wand.

"What?" Astoria touched the bunny ears over her head. "What's wrong with this?"

"What's wrong?" Daphne sputtered. "You are not wearing anything below your waist, Tori. And you're showing way too much chest."

Harry stepped around Daphne, tugging at Lily and Matthew's shoulder, leading them away from the two sisters.

"I am a sexy bunny," Astoria said. "It is my costume! Harry, tell her!"

Daphne turned to glare at Harry who raised an eyebrow.

"I had nothing to do with this," Harry said. "And a bunny, Astoria? Really?"

"But I make the cutest bunny!" Astoria knelt to the floor, her form shrinking as fur sprouted over her body.

In the blink of an eye, a bunny hopped onto the armrest of the couch.

"Yay! Bunny Aunt Tori!" Lily wrenched her hand from Harry's grasp and ran to pet the bunny.

The bunny's bright blue eyes gleamed as it nuzzled Lily's hand.

"Someday I am going to make a mean rabbit stew," Daphne glared at her sister.

With a swish of her wand, the bunny was thrown back onto the couch before the fur receded and it grew back into Astoria.

"Ouch," Asoria fell off the couch onto the carpeted floor. "That hurt!"

"Yay! Aunt Tori is back!" Lily cheered her wide green eyes trained on Astoria.

"You're way too cheerful mini-Daphne," Astoria grumbled. "Help me up!"

Lily ran toward her, tugging Astoria's hand to pull her up. Harry hid a smile as Astoria slowly sat up, making Lily cheer.

"What are we gonna do about her?" Daphne sighed.

"Let me help," Harry waved his wand at Astoria, whose Halloween costume began to expand till it covered her whole body.

"That's like my bunny nightdress!" Matthew pointed out.

Astoria looked down and wailed. "Harry! You betrayed me!"

"Aunt Tori, Aunt Tori!" Matthew tugged at her furry sleeve. "We all can dress like bunnies!"

Astoria's eyes went wide as she bounced to her feet.

"WE ARE THE BUNDLE OF BUNNIES!" She hollered, picking Matthew in her arms and rushing upstairs, Lily following behind her.

"It is a fluffle of bunnies," Daphne called after her. "Honestly, at least know about your species!"

In response, the door upstairs was slammed shut.

"Someday I am gonna kill her," Daphne turned to Harry. "Harry, why the hell are you dressed as a bunny too?"

"Because we are a bundle of bunnies," Harry's lips twisted into a smirk. "Honestly, this is better. You were going to be a witch."

"So?" Daphne's eyebrows drew into a deep vee.

"Honey, you are a witch. That is unimaginative." Harry stepped closer, curling his fingers around her waist.

"You let Astoria be a bunny," Daphne scowled. "And Astoria is a bunny."

"Do you want to be a fox, my dear?" Harry smirked. "Because you're a vixen."

Daphne slapped his chest making Harry grin.

"Today let us be bunnies and be cute," Harry whispered in her ear. "We can snuggle later."

Daphne grinned. "Maybe I will wear bunny ears. Only bunny ears."

"I would like that," Harry wrapped his arm around her waist. "But the whole costume now. Maybe you can wear one like Astoria was wearing. It would look fantastic on you."

Harry pulled away as the door upstairs opened. Three furry bundles raced out of the door and down the stairs.

"PAPA BUNNY!" Lily and Matthew yelled, hopping toward Harry.

"I am the papa bunny, Daphne," Harry grinned. "Now they want their mama bunny."

Daphne smiled and waved her wand, turning her costume to match all of theirs.

"WE ARE THE BUNDLE OF BUNNIES! THE CUTEST FAMILY THIS HALLOWEEN!" Astoria bounced on the couch, her bunny ears flopping around.

All in all, it was a unique Halloween.
