Legends… stories scattered throughout time.

For centuries, Mankind grew fond of recounting tales of Heroism, Villainy, and the various exploits of these said figures of near mythical status, yet unaware that they are a byproduct- a remnant one might say, of a bygone era shrouded in myth.

But of all the stories, and all the tales that were written and spoken of from every culture and every tongue.

One stood as a story as old as time, where all the cultures and tongues of Man- one way or the other, somehow find common ground in.

So come, let me spin this old and worn out yarn to you, of a time when Man had their back towards oblivion, and faced a force this world known as Vytal had never seen.

The Tale of 4

"For the world known as Vytal had not always looked so Grand, yet seemed so small.

Hundreds of years ago, Man was pushed to the brink of extinction.

They were forced into such a predicament by a force so overwhelming and unrelenting, that it seemed like a force of nature itself.

Creatures that were shrouded in darkness, born from darkness. This darkness came to be known as The Creatures of Grimm.

No one knew where these dark and savage monsters came from, nor how they came to be. But what few ever knew and lived to tell of it, was that of a powerful yet malevolent enchantress of whom these creatures seemingly answer to.

The Witch-Queen of the Grimm, as those foolish cults who worshiped her as a Goddess would call Her, held dominion over the Grimm, but she did not act alone in this dark crusade.

For there were four horsemen that were at her beck and call, each distinct from another, each representing Man's deepest and darkest emotions, each were as malevolent as their mistress.

First was Fear, the oldest and darkest.

Second was Lust, of strong desires and temptations of grandeur and excess.

Third was Hatred, born from Wrath and Envy, a catalyst of wars.

Last was Anguish, eternal suffering, an effect of wars.

She called them Her "Ever-Knights" and She bestowed unto them command of countless legions of Grimm. Many were slaughtered in this "Grimm War", many were orphaned and widowed, as towns and villages were burnt.

It seemed as though Humanity would be shrouded in darkness, but even in darkness, there was light.

Of the many that fought back, Four stood in direct defiance of the Witch-Queen and Her Ever-Knights, Four young yet bright and burning souls.

First was a Warrior, master of war and destruction, raised in honor, strength and compassion.

Second was a Builder, architect of mighty cities and castles, blacksmith of armies, artisan of tools of war and peace.

Third was a Sage, a wanderer in pursuit of the world's wisdom and knowledge.

And the Fourth was a Wizard, a scholar of the ancient and arcane arts of magecraft.

And with their efforts, along with the combined force of Mankind, at least those who weren't the fanatics of the Witch-Queen, they pushed back the armies of darkness and defeated the evil enchantress and her underlings, restoring the world and peace reigned once more…"

At least, that is the story that most people know. After that, the Great Four- as they were hailed, seemed to disappear into the obscurity that was the Age of Legends.

Some stories attributed to them were written, mostly tied to the 4 Kingdoms of Vytal and their individual history.

Whatever the case, time will come when some foolish and fanatic followers of the Witch-Queen will, for some reason or the other, finish what She started. And when the time will come…

Vytal's Hope or Doom comes down to Four.

Billy: Holy shoot, and that was the Prologue

Anon: Honestly, I expected it to be a little longer but I'm honestly surprised that we're only about a thousand words in this first part

Billy: Well we can pat ourselves on the back later. Anyways, we're back and this time, with a new brand spanking new story

Anon: Yes, for those waiting on a new chapter for the Theater of Madness, we opted on focusing first on writing the first four-ish (to five-ish) chapters of Vytal's Hope, so I hope you understand

Billy: And to those few waiting for a new chapter on Fear, Fate and Memory, we decided to put that story in the back-burner FOR NOW, we might write a new chapter, we might not, plans can change

Anon: So yes, what do you think of the Prologue of the new story? Be sure to as always, Read and Review

Billy: FAVORITE AND FOLLOW

Anon: Stay Cool and Anonymous

Billy: AND STAY BOMBASTIC!

Omake: The Prelude which led to the writing of the Prologue (In classic Anon and Billy form)

Now normally, there would be a s**tpost at the beginning and normally, there would be no censorship.

But this is a new story, whatever it is, so…

CUE WHATEVER THIS IS!

So in the Theater, Anon and Billy were about to start yet another chapter in their whole "Reaction-Fic" hijinks, when suddenly…

RING, RING, MOTHER****ER!

"What the heck?" Anon said alarmingly, hearing the obnoxiously loud ringing of a telephone.

"WAIT, I believe that's mine." Said Billy. "Narrator, could you drop the booth, NOT ON TOP OF ME THIS TIME?!"

Sure thing. So a telephone booth suddenly dropped out of the sky(?), narrowly missing Billy.

"HEY!" You did say not on top of you.

But I digress, so Billy stepped in and answered before any eardrums could burst any further.

"Hello? Oh! Hey Boss." Billy answered, holy crud it's the Boss, too bad for the sake of relieving the reader of any further delays for the start of this new story (and giving both myself and whoever is writing this an aneurysm), there would be no dialogue coming from the Boss BUT ANYHOW.

"Uh huh… yes we're about to start-OH! Wait, now? Uh…" Billy looked back at Anon, who looked at him questioningly.

"Y-yeah sure! We can get started on the Prologue!" Wait a second, what prologue?

"Yeah, what prologue?" Anon echoed.

"Uh yes, we'll do our best at a good Prologue sir! Uh huh… okay… Goodbye Boss." Billy breathed a sigh of relief as he placed the phone back.

Stepping outside, he quickly grabbed his twin by the shoulders and started screaming incoherent bull***t in a panic.

Anon, being unfazed by the hijinks of Billy, slapped the latter Will Smith style.

"Okay, what is going on?" He asked, hands on his hips.

"BOSS TOLD US TO START THE VYTAL'S HOPE THINGY NOW!"

Da flip? Well, that certainly explains the censorship.

"Yes, I did notice that any swear word we say gets censored or replaced by a less intense synonym." Anon admitted. "Still though, why bother with censorship?"

"If anything, Boss probably wants this story to be T rated." Well, that sort of explains things.

…I'm sure that both of you got a general idea of what's gonna be in Vytal's Hope, right?

"We've looked into the Vytal universe, it's still unstable, being a fairly new universe and all so it's gonna take a while to record and write everything down."

"Yup, and Bunny's out of commission for the time being."

I see, well let's just get this over with.

"Indeed, I'm sure the High Council at this point is gonna be frothing at the mouth for this overly long start." Yes, at this point we are about… 450 words from the ellipses and counting.

"Jeez, alright get us into the prologue already."

Will do.
