Ayaka's Halloween Suprise!
Today was the annual Halloween festival in Inazuma, and it was extra special this year because a certain Kamisato had sent a special invitation to a dear friend from the Kanto region to join her for the festivities. Ayaka was currently at the Kamisato residence, trying on various costumes in front of the mirror, hoping to find the perfect one to match Ash's outfit for the Halloween festival.
The Kamisato princess found herself in a dilemma as she pondered over what to wear for the festival. She wished to leave a lasting impression on Ash but was unsure of which outfit would be appropriate. She initially tried on a knight costume that held significance in her family history, but soon realized it was not spooky enough for the festival, as suggested by her new friend, Hu Tao. Feeling disappointed, she quickly abandoned the idea and continued her search for the perfect costume.
Ayaka's gaze turned towards a costume that immediately brought to mind a princess, which was ironic considering she was a princess herself. The sparkling blue dress did appeal to her in terms of its colors and style, but it was too conventional for her liking and lacked originality. On the other hand, Kokomi, her princess friend, had no qualms about donning elegant costumes during festivities. While Ayaka respected her friend's choices, she felt like she didn't quite grasp the essence of Halloween. Consequently, she decided to pass on the princess getup.
Ayaka took a quick glance at a Halloween costume that didn't quite catch her attention. Although it had the traditional witch theme with a cute cape and hat, it seemed too big for her, especially the hat. Besides, she remembered it being a common costume that people had worn countless times before. As a result, she decided to pass on it and look for something more unique.
Her gaze fell upon a familiar white sheet and hood, but she quickly dismissed it. She had already worn it last year for Halloween when she went to the festival with Sayu and Yoimiya as a ghostly maiden. It was an easy decision not to wear it again.
Ayaka let out a deep sigh as she sat on her bed, surrounded by various costume options. She couldn't believe how difficult it was to find the perfect one for the upcoming festival. Maybe she was overthinking it. Would it really matter what she wore to Ash?
Just then, her eyes fell upon a note that was placed on top of one of the costumes. She hadn't noticed it before. Curious, she picked it up and read it. It was from Yae Miko, suggesting that she try on a particular costume. At first, Ayaka was hesitant. She wasn't sure if she could trust Yae's taste in clothing.
Eventually, Ayaka decided to give it a try. She unfolded the pile of costumes and lifted up the one that Yae had suggested. Her face turned red as she examined it. While it was cute and fluffy, the design was definitely not appropriate for the festival.
Despite her reservations, Ayaka couldn't ignore the nagging feeling in the back of her mind. She knew she had to at least try it on, just to see how it looked. After all, there was no one else home at the Kamisato residence. Her brother Ayato had already left for the festival.
Taking a deep breath, Ayaka slipped into the costume, hoping that she wouldn't regret it.
"Only this one time," she muttered to herself.
"Beidou was kind enough to lend us some costumes from her ship," Ash said cheerfully as he walked down the quiet hallway of the Kamisato residence. Pikachu was comfortably perched on his shoulder.
"Pika pi!" The electric rodent squeaked in agreement.
Ash and Pikachu were both dressed as pirates, looking ready for an adventure on the high seas. Ash wore a sleeveless coat, pirate pants, and boots, along with a captain's hat that completed his pirate look. He even had a skull logo eyepatch over his right eye. Pikachu, on the other hand, wore a small pirate vest and a tiny pirate hat, adding a touch of cuteness to their pirate-themed outfits.
"I hope Ayaka doesn't mind if we pick her up," Ash said aloud as he approached Ayaka's room. Ash stood before Ayaka's sliding room door and gently knocked on the wooden surface with his knuckle. "Hey Ayaka, it's us. We've come to pick you up," he called out. But all they could hear was silence. He tried once more, "Ayaka? Can you hear us?" Still, there was yet to be a response. Ash was starting to worry about Ayaka. He asked Ayato if she was home, and he confirmed that she hadn't left yet. Concerned for the princess's well-being, Ash decided to check up on her. "We're coming inside," he called out as he slid the door open. Upon entering Ayaka's room, Ash was greeted with the surprise of a lifetime.
Ayaka stood near the corner of the room, staring at herself in the mirror. She was dressed in a costume that resembled a werewolf, but there was something about it that was a bit off. It wasn't scary. The appearance wasn't intimidating at all. In fact, it was quite adorable and had a certain charm that was hard to resist. The attire revealed certain parts of the body, some of which were highly anticipated by boys and often left them fascinated. "A-Ayaka?" Ayaka's body jolted as her friend's voice suddenly broke the silence, causing her to flinch nervously.
The scene was tense as Ayaka slowly turned her head to glance at the doorway, her face flushing red with embarrassment. She couldn't believe that Ash was standing there, inside her room, and witnessing her in this ridiculous Dangerous Beast outfit. The moment was awkward and uncomfortable, and Ayaka could feel the sweat beading down her forehead.
She took a deep breath and forced a smile. "Hi, Ash," she said, trying to act as normal as possible. "What brings you here?" She hoped her friend wouldn't notice her outfit, but she knew that was wishful thinking. Ash's eyes widened as he took in her appearance. She knew she had to devise a quick excuse before he could say anything. "Oh, this?" she said, gesturing to her outfit. "I'm just trying out a new look for the festival tonight." Ash seemed to buy her story, and they chatted for a few more minutes before he left. She let out a sigh of relief and vowed never to wear that outfit again.
Yae Miko certainly has great taste. Ash is one lucky guy to have seen Ayaka in a Dangerous Beast outfit. Although, she shouldn't wear it too often (just kidding). I hope you enjoy this one-shot.
