Summary/disclaimer: time for another chapter of Warwitch and her guardian. Enjoy the 3000-word chapter. I don't own VK, Sega, Ryutaro Nonaka and Shuntaro Tanaka do.
Raines looked over his division while he crossed his arms. There was plenty to do, soldiers who needed direction, and closure on their own goals. He looked up at where Selvaria sat.
It was a long trip to the top of the building where she had sat and he knew it was oh so hard to climb up. She had been one of the few people who could and would parade around on such powerful legs before slowly ascending to the rest of the base where she could relax and overlook them as if they were to be subjected as of now. It had been something when it was all over as of now. It was oddly questioned before now as this was all over for now it was to be something when it came down to it. She had been a lot more to handle this when this was done and dusted.
Raine didn't know what to do next. He did know that he was a small soldier in a large army. It was a thing when it seemed to be done and dusted when she was odd as of the time. it was more to do when the time being. it was to be interesting when all was said and done and dusted before now. This was odd to come next to handle before she seemed to handle it. This was more than he could seem to deal with, more than he had dealt with before.
The woman was something else. She commanded power and fear in equal measure. It was honestly a beautiful thing… But he saw the fact that she had been struggling a great deal. It had been far too easy to try and steal the idea of better power from others. There was too much at stake for it to be handled properly, too much on the line for her to stop now. Yes, far too much.
She was a general, he was a lowly soldier of the Imperial army, is any control that she had over her powers? Well, that paled entirely compared to her mind as an officer when it came down to it. She was a warrior without any peers in the world.
"Sir?" Raines heard as he turned back to the rest of his men. "We were discussing battle tactics at the moment. The general wanted to see what we could do and go from there in case the enemy plans another attack on this place." Raines heard as he sighed to himself.
Only so much could be done to remedy that. They had been pressed hard before and now? There was more pressing down on them from all sides. He'd be far too unwilling to handle this if it wasn't part of his job at the moment.
What had General Bles been up to? He questioned what the general had done at the time. She had yet to tell them anything besides the rudimentary orders. This had been a problem for many reasons, but he didn't deign to tell her anything. There were more problems on the horizon than there were solutions.
Still? He needed to ask as of the second that there were more problems when it came down to it. He had been interested in what was going to happen next. This had been odd and neither seemed as if they had solutions.
Raines turned back to the rest of the soldiers under his command and brought a hand to his temples. There was more on his mind than there had been before. She had talked about the woman who had clashed with them at least once. It had bothered him to some degree that this had been going on either way.
"That warrior the general fought is bad news if she comes back? I don't think we're going to hold the despot." Raines heard as he frowned and nodded.
"Yes, that's why I said this would be better if we had more defenses set up. We simply need to hit them and make sure they don't recover in time for the next attack." Raines said before he put a hand to his temples. "I want patrols set up outside the base unless the general says otherwise. 1 of you needs to get snipers set up on the west flank in case they form a counterattack," Raines stated before he sighed and brought a hand to his temples.
There was a sigh from his men as they started to get set up. His soldiers gave salutes and started to spread out to slowly carry out his orders. He had been interested in what was coming tomorrow, more soldiers would surely seem to come, ripping into the entire area like wheat.
Still? He had been given orders to command his men and until the general gave her orders that countermanded his own? He'd be handling the situation. She wasn't someone who needed to be concerned with this. It had been far too interesting for him and far too curious as of the second. This had to end sooner or later, the military of the empire was one of the strongest in the lands and yet here they were handling simple guard duty at a rundown depot.
"Sir? What if there are more reinforcements from command? We do have reinforcements coming in to guard the depot against the heart of the empire itself." Raines heard as he rolled his eyes and nodded.
"Then tell me when they arrive and we go from there. We still need to hold the area before then." Raines stated with a shake of his head. "And any new soldiers are to be reporting to General Bles," Raines stated before he sighed to himself and started to ponder what to do next at the moment.
Still? He was honestly curious as he wished to be on this subject. If the general had anything she wished to share? He'd find out more about it then.
It was after all her thing to share; he didn't wish to understand it. nor did he wish to. At least, not yet at the moment. He sighed to himself before he ran a hand across his helmeted head while he shook his head as he hummed to himself. there was more or less something that had to be done sooner or later. It wasn't at all to be something he wished, nor was it at all to.
His soldiers all stared at him with interest while he glanced around. It had been some time before this was done and dusted, yet he wished for nothing more. This had to end sooner or later. Then again? They were all soldiers and he was a simple commander of them. It wasn't as if he wished to see them die, but his leadership meant the difference between life and death.
Still? They were his to lead and his to command and nothing could change that. It also meant that there was more to do when it came down to it. He questioned before he started to approach the others. Not at least when it applied to this.
He needed a talk with General Selvaria. If she declined? He'd understand, but it wasn't as if they had more to do on this than anyone else. It hadn't at all seemed to be something he'd dabble with usually. Then again? He usually hadn't at all seemed to have problems with this, not that she was bad at commanding soldiers into combat.
Raines slowly pulled himself up the ledge and onto the next one. It'd be something nice if not for the ideal the fact that there had been little to no real reaction.
One thing he did like about Selvaria when it came to things like military and concerns for her soldiers? She didn't at all require paperwork or the proper forms and customs to be filled all. It was simply a matter of if they could be bothered to see her at any point when it applied to this situation at the moment. She was anything but nice and caring to those soldiers when it came down to it. there had been a lot more on the line than simply losing the battle it seemed.
Selvaria looked over the rest of the battle when it came down to it. He had a lot more as of the second before this ended. he was going to be a lot more than this. He cracked his fingers before he glanced around before this ended.
He sighed and wiped his brow off before he glanced around and seemed to question when as of the moment.
Still? if there was even a slight attempt to win today? She'd take it. She had to be ready for anything. She had to be willing to do what needed to be done to beat this puzzle. They hadn't been here for anything. Nor had they the ability to deny this.
He decided to go and talk to the woman. She was the commander after all. If she was the woman in charge of all of this. The plan had been laid in stone and he could do nothing more than dance along to the music. He'd settle for simply finding a way past this and into the next piece of the plan.
"She's going to be the death of me before now. That's all that seemed to matter. Isn't it?" He questioned before frowning to himself. "This is so stupid but so interesting, aren't they?" Raines questioned before he frowned to himself with a sigh as he did so.
There was so much riding on this. Their plans couldn't fail now. Not when it came down to this now.
Still? he was worried about what to do next. There was a lot more as of the time being. He rubbed at the bridge of his nose and slowly started to climb back up the platform.
Selvaria still waited there. The only woman who had fought without her gun. She had been quiet as of the time being… This woman both terrified him and made him question if she was even human. She inspired men like him to be greater while also making them terrified. There was so much he didn't know about her.
'Does she even know that she inspires all of us a lot more than the others do? This was going to be something that will be the hardest battle of her life… We both know she's trying her best to battle the rest of the world and keep us safe… And none of us seem to want to even try and handle this. The plan at odds would be a miracle if we aren't crazy when all of this is said and done.' Raines thought before running a hand through the air.
She seemed to look over at him as he slowly moved to try and use a real few new idea as of the time being. She stared at the soldier before clearing her throat. It had been done as of the time. This plan had been insane.
She cleared her throat before she hummed the time. she placed her hands behind her as she stared into the snow-covered area. It had been something terrible. Something questioning as of the time being. She knew why he had approached once more. She had been a soldier and so had he. There was a lot more to say and do next before he questioned the time to say and do next. There was a lot more to do next.
She simply questioned what the game would be. It had been something to come down to it when all of this. It'd be an odd little thing before now.
She was a skilled general at the end of the day. she wasn't afraid to do something as now. it had been something odd little thing for now. Whatever came next would be an odd little thing.
"I don't even know what's going to happen next. I don't know what will be coming next to this… Honestly?" Raines said before Selvaria nodded.
"It's not always easy to tell what's going to happen next. We both know just how crazy this will be." Selvaria stated in response as Raines frowned. "The next day will be a lot worse… A lot horrid of an idea when all of this is done. We both know just how badly the tides of war can be at the end of the day." Selvaria added to which her friend fell silent.
She knew more than he just how terrifying this would be. Selvaria watched him cross his arms as he seemed to tilt his head before he seemed to honestly question before all of this was a lot more to seem to think as of the time being. Selvaria clicked her heels on the ground as of now.
It'd be a lot more of a cool thing when this came down to it. Whatever came down to their idea before it was all over with. What came next was an idea for the history books. It was a part of the idea that hadn't yet come down to it.
She had to be prepared for whatever came next when this came down to it. The idea had been a small one, one which she hadn't given much thought to as of now.
It was honestly a very cool thing to see her men enjoy so much before now. it had been an odd little part of life. A weird part of life that couldn't be explained for now either way. She knew he wanted to be prepared for anything else. It was honestly a weird point in their lives.
Yet? They couldn't afford to back down in any single manner as of this when it came down to it. They had to strike harder, hit harder, and make sure to put the enemy down. He had been an odd little thing before it came down to it as of now.
He questioned what to do next. An interesting part that could not yet be done for now. It had been something weird for this at the time. She ran a hand over her temples before clicking her throat to this was a lot more to handle when it came next.
Oh, did it hurt to handle this? Did it hurt to be a general? Yes, so much paperwork, so many obstacles when it came to their ideals and what to do next… It would be terrifying to them for now. Truly terrifying to every single person involved in it.
Still? she knew more than he just what this was to have been. It was a lot, she knew it was a lot, she also knew many of her soldiers would be in the thick of it. Yes, the idea that this was more than what had been done. It needed to be done and dusted at the second.
She had to be prepared for anything the man or woman threw at her. That even meant the rest of the soldiers around her had to be properly placed on the right platforms to handle this work. If it were anyone else? She'd deal with it soon enough before this was honestly done and dusted. Whatever came next was to be the perfect test for now. One which would handle it and all of it would bow, all of the life before now had been when all of this was done and dusted before now. It had been a lot more of a road ahead before they got done.
All that had been said and done before now was meaningless. It was less than nothing. She had been a lot more to come down to this was honestly before he had a lot more to handle. If she was to win? She had to know how her enemy fought, their moves, their tactics. Whatever could be said and done would need to be said to her soldiers before now. Yeah, it'd be a lot of fun when this as of now. It was too much to do, too much to handle for the time being and she knew more than anything her soldiers were slowly being worn down by all of this for now. It would be oddly peaceful for them and she knew it. She knew more than he that he'd be dealing with worse things than this down the road… Yet? If she was even remotely honest with herself? Well, this had been done and dusted before all had been said and dusted before now. Whatever was to be done and dusted before it was all over.
Selvaria was honestly to rip apart when this was all done with before he was all said and done. It had been oh so much work when it came down to it when it seemed to tilt before it seemed to be as of now when this seemed to be done and dusted.
Still? He had been a soldier that was on the frontlines before it came down to it. Selvaria seemed to be an odd little soldier at the end of the day and it wasn't like she had been ready for this… Then again? What did he know? He was a simple warrior who had been on the frontlines of combat before it came down to it. She had been an odd little seemed to be ready for this.
