The next day, Ryker and Mirajane were at the guild, they were talking at the bar and there were still celebrations with his return. Many wizards saw him greet and congratulate him, something that was starting to bother him, he never liked being the center of attention. Mira, on the other hand, smiled, happier than ever, which always ended up putting him at ease. Wendy also didn't leave his side all day and most of the time she stayed stuck, not wanting the wine press, as if by letting him go, she would lose him forever. Understandably, no one minded that Mirajane wasn't working that day, she stayed by her boyfriend's side for most of the day, leaving the heavy lifting to the other waitresses.

At a certain point Makarov appeared saying that they should go to Porlyusica's house to see what she could do with his eye.

"Are you sure this can work?" Ryker asked. "I know it worked with Erza, but she was just a child when they did the procedure, right? I wonder if it will work with a grown man."

"We have to have faith, Love," Mirajane replied. "Let's ask her and see what she has to say. Positive thinking," she smiled sweetly.

"That question only she can answer, Ryker. But I don't see why it wouldn't work, she already knows how to do it due to Erza, if she needs any adjustments she will know how to proceed", said Makarov confidently.

Erza, who was listening to the conversation, approached them and said: "Whenever we needed something from Porlyusica, she never let us down", the redhead placed her hand on Ryker's shoulder with a smile and an expression of confidence. "I'm sure you'll return with perfect vision. Then I can help you adapt to it."

Ryker smiled and nodded. "If you say so, Redhead …"

"Well, if it's okay we can leave," Makarov said and everyone nodded. They immediately got up and headed towards the guild exit. Wendy and Mirajane, not wanting to let him go alone, went with them and would stay by his side for as long as he needed and as long as Porlyusica allowed, of course.

They walked through the forest, a path that Ryker recognized, he took that same route the day he met the famous Fairy Tail guild at the master's invitation. Memories came back to his mind with each step he took, even though it hadn't been that long, just over a year, but for him, it seemed like decades ago. Not long after, they saw Porlyusica's house.

"So, is there anything you can do?" Makarov asked. She was examining Ryker's left eye. As soon as they arrived, she answered the door and asked them what they were doing there. Makarov explained everything to her and asked her to help him if possible. Mirajane also asked her to do something for her boyfriend. Under protests and complaints she agreed to help.

She looked at him sullenly, as usual. "Always giving me trouble, Makarov," she complained. "There is a lot of damage to his eye, I will have to remove it and try to implant another eye, it will not be easy. How troublesome!"

"Please Porlyusica- san , try whatever you have to," begged Wendy.

Porlyusica grunted in discomfort. "You must really like this boy," she commented, "because it's better to leave him without his eye than to subject him to a painful procedure."

"I've been through greater pain, Porlyusica. I wouldn't mind having one eye, I've already adapted. But they want it, they think it would bring me a better quality of life. So it's not a little pain that's going to stop me. If there's a way, do it!", said Ryker determinedly.

She looked at him irritated and indignant. "What an impertinent fellow," she snorted. "All good! I think I can do something about it. It will take a few days, so come back later." Both Mira and Wendy smiled happily and hopefully, Ryker remained indifferent.

"Thank you, Porlyusica. Kind as always", thanked Makarov, slightly sarcastic.

"Go quickly and don't bother me!", she replied irritably.

"Thank you, Porlyusica- san ", Mira thanked her and looked smilingly at Ryker, who was sitting on a bench. "You will see again," she was excited.

"I think so," he replied with a discreet smile. He turned to Porlyusica, "I guess I should thank you too, ma'am. This is the second time you've helped, I'm in your debt."

"You can stop, human," Porlyusica gestured with her hand. "Makarov told me what you did. It took a lot of courage and manliness, I just hope you don't bring me any more problems like the others in your guild", she said and looked at the master, who was smiling.

"Well, we're going now. Take care Porlyusica", Makarov said and started to leave, followed by Mirajane, Ryker and Wendy, she was picked up and carried by him.

On the way back the spirit was renewed and with hope. Mira was happier than the other three, she wanted the best for Ryker, even though he was fine with just one eye, but seeing her happiness, he couldn't help but feel happy too.

"That's resolved, now we have to bring you back to life, my son", Makarov commented.

"What do you mean?" Ryker asked, confused.

"Legally, the master meant," Mira explained. "Since we thought you were... Well, we need to nullify all documentation and prove that you were just missing and bring you back to the world of the living. Legally speaking."

Ryker nodded understanding what they said. However, he could notice her choking and how she avoided mentioning that he was "dead." He held her hand and stroked it like his thumb, smiling when she looked at him. Mira smiled back and hugged his arm, resting her head on his shoulder as they walked back. Wendy, in his lap, tightened her grip around him, not wanting to let go of him anymore. Everything was fine with him, he had the two most important people in his life beside him at that moment.

Makarov couldn't help but smile when he saw those three young people together, like a family, he always liked it when their children were happy. "Mira is right. It won't be difficult, since we have prestige, but the bureaucracy will make it take a while. Therefore, during this time, you will not be able to do any work. I hope you understand, Ryker."

"Perfectly, master. I can help Mira at the guild in the meantime," Ryker replied, Mira simply smiled blushingly beside him.

As soon as they returned from Porlyusica's house, Mirajane, Ryker and Wendy sat at a table, just the three of them and stayed together talking or just enjoying each other's company. There was so much to ask that even Mira and Wendy didn't know where to start, but they were so happy to have him back that they didn't really care. Wendy, after a while, went to talk to her team, apparently they were discussing a project and wanted her to participate. Initially she didn't want to, she wanted to spend more time with Ryker, but he said she had an appointment with them and should go. Then Lisanna asked Mira to accompany her for a moment, before leaving she told her boyfriend that she would return as soon as possible. He laughed and told her that he was no longer a child and could spend some time alone without his mother, she laughed.

Observing the guild calmly and alone at that table, he soon noticed when someone came and sat down next to him. He immediately knew who it was and smiled at the corner of his mouth. "Hey, Cana?", he greeted her.

"Hello!", she greeted him smiling silly. "Will you get your eye back?"

"Apparently yes," he replied.

"Great. This deserves a celebration!", she placed a barrel of drink on their table and handed him a mug and filled it with the drink, she already had a full mug for herself. "I don't like seeing you with one eye closed," she raised the mug and they toasted.

Ryker looked at her closely and laughed, leaving the brunette confused. "What a beautiful thing, Cana. You miss me", he looked at her maliciously, but, without realizing it, he received a punch to the back of the head.

"You fool! Who do you think I am?", she retorted, looking indignant.

"My God!" he exclaimed, running his hand over his head where Cana had hit him. "I barely returned and you welcome me like this!"

"Shut up!" she shouted. "Besides, you're the one who looks different," she said and drank a large portion of her drink.

"What are you talking about, girl?" he asked confused.

She stared at him before saying anything. "His face is not as serious and serious as before. Now he has a more neutral expression", commented the brunette.

"Tsh! I think you're overreacting or you've had too much to drink. I haven't changed at all", he looked at her angrily.

"First of all, I never drink too much. And secondly, I am right, as always," she said seriously; in the Cana way of being serious. "Your facial expression is much calmer and I can feel that you are calmer too."

"Do you want me to get angry by any chance?", he said, looking at her with narrowed eyes.

"She's right," Gray said, approaching them and sitting at the same table as Cana and Ryker. "You seem calmer."

"What is this, a plot?", Ryker asked looking between Gray and Cana.

"Just the truth. Accept it!", Cana said with a shrug.

Ryker grunted in annoyance. "There goes my reputation..."

"Did you have any?", Cana asked between sips of a drink and looking at him unpretentiously. Ryker turned his face to look at her angrily, while Gray laughed, only stopping when Ryker looked at him in a threatening way.

"You're impossible," Ryker snapped at Cana, who smiled satisfactorily.

"Don't be angry with her. It's just Cana being herself," Erza said sitting next to Ryker.

"It doesn't matter! I'm more interested in that move you used", Natsu interjected, sitting on the other side of the table. "I'm excited to find out more, it was a very powerful attack."

"Do you need to talk about this now?", Lucy, sitting next to the Dragon Slayer, scolded him.

"What time would be better, Lucy?", she looked at him and shrugged.

"Indeed, it was something I wanted to know too," Erza said.

"See! Erza wants to know too, won't you scold her too", Natsu said looking at Lucy.

The blonde gasped and withdrew. "No, never mind."

Ryker looked at everyone around him sitting there. "Didn't you have a mission to go on?" he asked them.

"We're leaving tomorrow," Gray replied.

"And where is Wendy?" asked Ryker.

"She went to pack her things and rest before we left. She wants to be fine so she can do the work as quickly as possible and come back soon to be with you," Erza replied.

Ryker couldn't help but let out a slight, discreet smile. "That can be left for later, talk about that attack", Natsu insisted anxiously.

Shrugging, Ryker said, "Actually, that attack wasn't meant to be used like that, it was a desperate act, if I do say so myself. But anyway, it's my most powerful attack, 'Zeus's Bolt'."

"It was very impressive," Lucy commented.

"Yeah, it's not every day we see a column of incandescent smoke rise into the sky," Gray commented.

"It's a difficult strike to create and consumes a lot of energy. I don't plan on using it anytime soon," Ryker said.

"And what do you plan to do now that you're back?" Lucy asked.

"I guess I'll pick up where I left off," Ryker replied thoughtfully.

"I'm sure you can do it", Erza said smiling kindly at him. Ryker looked at her and smiled back.

"It is clear! That's why I'm here", Cana said and jumped on top of Ryker hugging him. "Your best friend won't let you down."

"Cana, get off me!", he shouted, desperate with that drunk woman hugging him and embarrassing him in front of everyone.

After days Porlyusica was ready to implant the fake eye into Ryker. Wendy, Mirajane and Makarov, along with Ryker went to her house where she would perform the surgery. The wait was long, but the operation was successful, it would take a few more days for the eye and body to adjust to each other. During this period, Ryker would stay at Porlyusica's house for any emergencies. Incredibly, sooner than expected the false eye and body were perfectly adjusted and Ryker recovered. Mirajane, Wendy and Makarov went to look for him as soon as they received Porlyusica's warning, even though Mira went to visit him every day.

Porlyusica removed the bandages from Ryker's face and ordered him to open his eye and see if everything was normal. "How are you? Are you seeing well?" she asked.

Ryker looked around, fixed his gaze on her and passed to Makarov, facing him, he looked out the window, fixing the view as far away as possible. Closing his right eye he looked around with his false eye. Ryker then looked at Mirajane, who was looking at him apprehensively, her hands clasped in front of her chest, looking at him. He looked at her and smiled gently and gratefully.

"I see everything, it's perfect. Porlyusica, thank you", Ryker thanked, confirming that the implant worked. Mira sighed in relief and went to where he was sitting and stood next to him, wrapping her arm around his shoulder, hugging him.

"Good, Love. I'm so happy you can see again," she said with relief. "Thank you Porlyusica- san ".

Wendy sat next to Ryker, as did Mirajane, she was happy that her "brother" was okay and thanked the older mage.

"I'm happy that everything worked out. But there's no need to be endlessly grateful," she said in a grumpy way.

Makarov laughed and gave a fatherly smile. "What matters is that everything worked out in the end."

"Just don't expect this eye to be like your natural one. It will not produce tears and you will have to constantly clean it with some eye drops, as your body will not do this naturally", Porlyusica warned.

"No problem. It doesn't bother me," Ryker responded.

"If you say so…" she shrugged. "Now you can go. They've been here too long and I have things to do", she said, kicking everyone out of her house. "That boy... always recovering too quickly, that's not normal even for a wizard," she thought. "What does he have?" she asked herself.

On the way back to Magnolia they were talking and Makarov told how the procedures were going to bring Ryker back to life, legally. "I believe that by the end of this week we will have your papers up to date. And you will be able to consider yourself a living man again."

"That will be really good," Ryker said with relief. "Maybe we can go on some mission together, Mira." They walked hand in hand and she looked at him and smiled, nodding.

"I would love. I'll keep an eye out for some interesting work," she smiled. "And quite long," she whispered in his ear, Ryker blushed because he knew exactly what she was talking about. Wendy, beside them, didn't understand what she meant and looked at them in confusion.

"I hope they give me grandchildren soon," Makarov commented with a fatherly smile. Ryker and Mirajane looked at him blushing and were embarrassed.

"Ara, ara, master!" Mira said awkwardly.

They continued walking until they returned to the guild. As soon as they arrived at Fairy Tail, everyone wanted to know if everything had gone well with the implant and, patiently, Ryker explained to everyone that everything was fine. At the end of the day, and without any patience, he isolated himself in the bar, next to Mira and her brothers. At the end of the week, as Makarov predicted, all the documentation was ready and he could already be recognized as a living person with full rights, ready for new adventures.
