"Well goodbye Mabel." Hop Pop went as he and his grandchildren climbed on Bessie

"See ya guys later! Don't worry I won't burn down the farm," She joked.

"I'm already regretting this." Hop Pop mentally kicked himself for agreeing to this.

"Go Hop Pop! Go before your better sense can tell you not to." Polly shouted.

"Okay, okay, okay!"

"Bye Mabel." Sprig waved as Bessie lunged forward.

She happily waved them off.

Maybe she can go explore the town by herself and learn more about the people who lived in it.

The Sundews seemed friendly, oh and that bakery. The bakery had that magic girl should could get to know. "I wonder what Dipper would do…"

"Let's go see magic, write it in the journal." She imagined Dipper saying that to her.

"Good idea imaginary Dipper," Mabel pulled out her journal and started skipping towards the town.

She had almost reached the bakery when her path was blocked by two blue Polly, erm… Pollywogs. "Come play with us." They demanded in unison.

"Stop that, you're being creepy." Maddie shooed them away.

She laughed. "They're funny. Hi I'm Mabel."

"So you're the human I heard so much about."

"The one and only."

"Well, Mabel, can I help you?"

"The Plantars are out of town so I figured this was a good opportunity to get to know more people!"

"That is good to hear." She said, though she wasn't sure of what to make of it.

"Did we just become best friends?"

"Hmm, well… you did stop me from getting a fiancé, but no one gained anything by holding a grudge so why not." Maddie shrugged. Mabel pick the shorter girl up and swung her around in a bear hug, putting her back down again.

"Trust me. You don't want Sprig." Mabel she waved with her hands. "He's great, but he could be a real silly billy."

"Not like there are many choices, but you might make a good point."

"You can do so much better." Mabel secretly hoped that was true.

"So what do humans do for fun anyways?"

"Well I like knitting. Causing Chaos. And watching TV."

"T...V?" The pink haired frog girl.

She happily brought up a show on her phone.

"You managed to put a small version of your species in this tiny box?"

"No, no, its video!"

She grabbed the phone and shook it as hard as she could to make the tiny humans fall down.

"It doesn't work like that. It's just pictures." She snatched her phone back. Apparently no one in this world had concept of personal property.

"Pictures don't move."

"I'll leave that for someone like my brother or Grunkle to explain."

"Fair enough." Maddie shrugged "got magic in your world?"

An image of Bill cut across her thoughts. "Y-yeah."

"Can you do any of it?"

"Not really, I'm not into making deals with demons." Though she did wonder if there were other types of magic in her world… maybe Dipper's nerd book could've helped.

"So you don't know sorcery?"

"Nope." She did wonder though if Dipper would enjoy it… if he could.

"That unfortunate."

"I make do." She rested her head on her hands.

"That's nice." She shrugged

"Though, I have battled a lot of demons."

"Oh? Do tell."

"Where do I start? Bill, shapeshifters, Gnomes."

"Not sure who Bill is, is a gnome like a frome?"

"Bill is like a demonic triangle with a top hat."

"I've heard stories of such beings, but I've never the opportunity to meet one."

"Bill was a real jerk. But we tricked him."

"Okay you got my attention." She leaned in closer.

And for the next few minutes she spun the tale of Weirdmageddon to her. As she spoke, her eyes widened in excitement.

"Wow that sounds amazing!"

"Yeah, it was kind of epic. I did spend a lot of it in a bubble though."

"Tell me about that," She raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "What's this journal you keep mentioning?"

Mabel pulled out a pink notebook covered in glitter. "This! My bro-bro is making one and since I'm stuck here I thought I should too!"

"Hmm, ok then." Maddie shrugged. "Maybe I can show you some spells."

"I'd love that, but please, I don't wanna make a deal with a demon."

"No way. You're not even close to being advanced enough for that." She chuckled.

Mabel awkwardly laughed in kind. "Remember if you're ever thinking of making a deal like that, don't."

"Makes sense. Let's find a place to work."

"Sounds like fun!" Mabel nodded.

Maddie then turned. "Dad! The human and I are going to go do magic!"

"Okay, try not to take too long." He nonchalantly answered.

Later…

"This place good?" Mabel asked, leaping up to a tree branch to check out the area and leaping downwards once she realize where she was , in the same clearing she meet Salt N Pepper in. Those memories were painful.

"Sure, let's try an abomination." The girl with pink hair went.

"Sounds neat."

Mardie made a small flower move around using a simple plant spell and some old grubhog toenails. The magic keep it alive, for now.

"Howdy my name is Flowy." It said.

"Don't you mean Flowe..." Mabel started, only for Maddie to interrupt her.

"Let move on to the next bit." She said, rushing to get away from the abomination.

"Ok! Can I make a sugar monster?"

"You could try, but we'll have to get the ingredients."

"Don't worry! Whatever we need I can find them!" Mabel chirped.

"Let's see then." Maddie rubbed her chin. "flour is dry and plant based…"

"Consider it done." Mabel nodded.

"Let's see, black cricket legs? Got, those. Two cups of heron tears? Got those. Hmm mammal sweat? Got that. Glowing tea leaves? Got..." Maddie continued… Only for Mabel to run off. "Wait! I was going to tell you where to…" She stopped, Mabel had already run off. "Well… If I go back to work, my sisters might bug me…" she shrugged and followed.

She watched as Mabel ran around in excitement… and was clearly lost. Maddie sighed. "They're near water!"

"Thanks Maddie, you're the best!"

"Any time friend."

Mabel leap on a floating log, looking for whatever Maddie needed, she probably should have asked before going looking for it. She started to stumble and feel into the river.

"Mabel are you okay?" She asked, ready to jump in to save her friend.

"Don't worry I once held by breath for twelve minutes for a boy once." She said, as the ground near Maddie shook.

"Listen Mabel, it is getting dark want to try again tomorrow?"

"Do I have to?"

"I say so." She saw Mabel pout as she got on land and dry off her sweater.

"Fair enough." Mabel knew when she was beat.

The next day:

Mabel knocked on the door to the Flour residence. And Maddie answered. "Good Morning Mabel."

"Good morning Maddie. How are you doing?" She asked.

"Pretty good, trying to keep my baby sisters from messing up some spells I have in the works."

"What are they doing now?"

"We were just about to eat Breakfast, want some?" She ordered some work grain waffles.

"Already made my own." Mabel said she made something sweet and affront to nature. "Let's go!" She smiled.

After eating the two went to the empty field Maddie got some bugs parts, and Mabel offered to help with the level two spell with some magic made lightning the two manage to make a weak abomination. The creature has the guts of a fly, the rot remains of a worm and the body of a dune beetle, all covered in sugar making it appear to have spots, "I love it! His name is... sprinkles!" Sprinkles mindlessly roar at the table. "I will keep him forever!"

"Tell me how long he last." Maddie rolled her eyes.

"They don't live long?" Mabel pouted, she squeeze the bug tightly. The bug squirmed at this, wishing to be free from the strange human embrace.

"How would I know? I never thought to bring a pile of sugar to life before."

"Well I did!" Mabel spoke with pride. "My love will ensure he's gonna last forever."

(Spoiler it didn't.)

"I'm going to try something new today. I've got half a day, we can work on a revival spell."

"That sounds like fun! Count me in."

"But first I need to do something."

Maddie walked back into her house. "Listen. My friend's here. I don't have time for you."

"But you promised!" A trio of young voices filled the air, before Maddie walked back in.

"What was that?" Mabel tilted her head in confusion.

"Just my little siblings being annoying."

"Err, ya sure? What'd you promise them?" Mabel remember how she felt whenever Dipper broke a promise to her.

"Do you have any younger siblings?"

"Nope, just a twin brother."

"Let me tell you, it hard to focus on your studies and hobbies while dealing with them."

"I kind of get that. I've been sharing a room with Dipper for a while and he can be a bit distracting." She couldn't begin to talk about how many of her sweaters she had to delay because of Dipper's nerd stuff.

"Now imagine a younger version of him times three and you'll see my problem."

"Maybe they need a healthy distraction of their own? Something to do away from you?" Mabel rubbed the back of her head.

"Easier said than done, they're even younger than the planter girl... Polly was it?"

"Yup that's her." Mabel then got down so her knees were Infront to try to look like Polly, she stood back up.

"It's just hard is all." Maddie looked away. "We lost our mother after they were born."

"I'm so sorry."

"Don't worry about it. It happens."

"What do you mean?" Mabel scratched the tip of her head.

"Haven't you noticed how dangerous the wildlife is around here?"

"I guess I didn't think about it," the Plantars kept her safe after all.

"Just keep an eye out, things can go from zero to bat droppings in seconds."

"That bad?"

"So what do you want to try resurrect?" Maddie tone of voice suggested it was a train of thought she did not care for.

"Are we resurrecting your mom?"

"No way, resurrecting Amphibians can only done in theory. For now the most we can do is bring back small animals."

"Got it. Work our way up!" She said, her right fist raise up high as she leap in the air.

"Exactly." She didn't mention that you also needed a body for it to work, and her mother's… well… She preferred to focus on Mabel bouncing around in excitement

Sound found a dead wild flee. "This will do."

"Let's do it!" She pumped her fists back and forth.

"First let's try to keep the legs connected." Maddie directed Mabel, prompting her to sew it together. While she did so, Maddie got curious. "So what is your home life like?"

"Boring. My parents aren't around much." Just giving her shoulders a shrug.

"That not fun, so it's just you and your bro?"

"Yeah, but at least we get to spend last summer with our Grunkle Stan and Great Uncle Ford. I was supposed to go see them this summer, but at the rate things are going that won't be happening anytime soon."

"Ouch…" Her voice trailed off. "What are your 'grunkles' like?"

Mabel happily told her about them. "Grunkle Stanley he was the one who originally took us in, he took us on many trip, once we stole from a candy store, another time, we help get pugs to their forever home, and then afterwards he got us very expensive stakes, and then there was his brother Grunkle Stanford he a massive nerd, he manage to get to travel to another world. I never fully knew where he went, but I think he meet up with a fairy princess and got hook up. Totally."

"It must be nice having a family that can actually help you with your interests."

"They really are the best."

"I wish had someone like that."

"Maybe your siblings will be, when they grow up."

"Doubt it, they don't really seem interested in anything." Maddie waved them off.

"Of course they don't. They're just babies right now."

"That is true…"

"Now what part do I need for this? I know we're gonna need friendship." Mabel said, raising her hand up as if she was in class.

"Nah, you can't rip friendship out of people until you know level six magic. I only know level one."

Mabel did a double take. "Wait what?"

Maddie tilted her head in confusion. "What?"

Mabel paused and shook her head. "Never mind... Ok. Ingredients, a rotten corpse."

"Let's try Toadie's garden, it full of rotten stuff." Maddie been there a few times. Mabel was confused as to why a corpse would be in a garden, but after that thought she happily went with her.

"Soooo I hear Hop Pop mentioned something about a trip do you know what that about."

"We're going to Newtopia in hopes of finding a way home for me."

"You're going to Newtopia? Lucky!"

"You know of it?"

"Who doesn't?! Every frog wants to go there."

"Why don't you go with us?"

"I would love to, but my dad needs me to help run the family business."

"That makes sense. Want me to bring back for you?" Mabel taking a look at the bakery, it didn't look falling apart but you could see paint chipping and some cracks window.

"Maybe some books on curses, it's kinda hard to find new one in town." Maddie answered.

"Can Do!" She gave a thumbs up.

"Now let's see, first up bile from a vomit bird, some big ol' ticks, a really rotten corpse, fresh soil from a graveyard, and assorted limbs."

"I see no moral issues. Lets go!" Mabel gave a big smile at this.

"Great!"

One montage later...

"That was epic!"

"Good thing you didn't lose a limb." Maddie said.

"Same about you."

"Sadly, I've outgrown the age where I could regrow limbs." She said.

"That was a thing?!" Mabel's eyes widened in shock.

"Only for very young frogs. I think Sprig is on his third left arm."

"That's so cool!"

"Yeah, newts got it lucky. They can regrown limbs and tails whenever."

"Fancy." Mabel moved her

"Yeah." Maddie answered.

"Dipper would find this so cool."

"It's nice having a sibling that can understand ya."

"I don't all the time, but I try." Mabel went.

"Really you been so helpful."

"I try."

"So you ready?" The pink-haired frog went.

"You know it!"

Maddie with all her might try to get the spell right but something went wrong. The abomination started to have it 'skin' boiled and head pop in and out of existence.

"Maddie, what's happening?"

"Dang it, what did I do wrong?" Maddie was befuddled, "I thought I did it perfectly."

"Maybe it was me?" She got some of the thing on her shirt, and quickly wipe it off disgusted.

"While that possible, I'm sure it's something else…"

"How do we fix it?" Mabel spoke with worry in her voice. "We might not want to try agaaaain…." Suddenly the ground shook and opened up under them, causing them to fall in. Something was moving in the ground causing massive quakes underground and cause a massive tremor to appear forcing the two would be magic users down in the put, they grabbed on the wall but had nothing to help them climb up, and too unstable to jump safety. With one more quake it close up leaving very little change for escape.

"Ahh, why didn't we learn a flying spell?!"

"I wish I could fly." Mabel said.

"Wait I see a hole, but it's too small for me." She said, trying to reach to see she could get something.

"Maddie?" A small voice called out.

"Who is there?" Maddie said.

"It's us!" A slightly different voice replied.

"Rosemary, Lavender, Ginger?" Their older sister asked.

"Yes! We heard screaming!" The third replied.

"Do any of you know where Wally keeps his rope?"

"I do!" Ginger ran to get it.

"I need you to go get that and hurry." Maddie instructed.

"She's on her way!"

"Thanks Rosemary." Her sister said to her.

"Are you okay?" Lavenger asked.

"No, not really! But we need some rope to get through." Maddie yelled, as she felt peddles fall on them.

Ginger returned with the rope and threw it down.

The ground shook. "Oh no Massive ground worms." Maddie cried.

"Hurry!" Mabel had fought demons and gods before, she would not die to some dirt and worms. She held on tight to a near by root, struct out so she could keep from falling but not go up enough to help her get out of here.

"If we fall again it's going to be too far down to pull us back up." Maddie warned, needing Mabel to not panic.

"You first." Mabel said, boosting her up.

Maddie grabbed the rope and tied it around herself. "I'm going to grabbed you Mabel ready?"

"I'm ready!"

She stuck her tongue out and grabbed her. "Wet up wup." She could feel the Earth worms getting closer. Her siblings hoping as fast as possible.

Mabel held on tightly.

"Wit Woming." She said trying to yank Mabel closer.

They barely made it out of the hole before the ground began to shake again.

"Let's make like a banana and split." Mabel asked, the ground shook some more. "We have to run now." She said, sprinting grabbing one of the babies as Maddie did the same, leaving one of the pollywogs behind.

Yet, before they could get to safety, one of the worms managed to hit Ginger, costing her a limb. "Ginger?!" Maddie turned to find her sister crying out in pain.

In an instant, she threw a curse blinding the beast, rolling to get her sister in her arms. She was crying. Very hurt. "Don't worry Ginger big sissy is here." She hung onto her. "There, there I got you." Before bolting again.

Later…

Mabel do you mind if I don't do magic tomorrow or for a bit my sister needs me."

"Take all the time you need."

"Thanks."

After that she went to the Planter house all by herself.

The next morning she got up and searched the Plantar Home.

The place was well stocked, Hop Pop had told her where the food was and that it should be enough to last until tomorrow. The food was fine but she was sooooo bored.

That's when she decided to go pay someone else a visit and made her way to the Sundew cafe.

"Hi Mabel." Felicia Sundew greeted her.

"Good to see you again."

"Glad to see you today."

"What's today's special?"

"Eastern desert crumpets."

"That's sounds awesome!"

"Thanks, it's probably best consumed in the morning, it's been known to keep frogs up at night."

"Good thing its morning, right."

"Yep! What not take that small table on the side?"

Ivy was helping out today, and notice a certain guest. "Hey Mabel."

"Oh Ivy, good to see you again!"

"Glad to see someone closer to my own age."

"Ya this place does smell of old people." Mabel commented.

"Don't say that too loud they might hear you!" She leaned in and whispered.

"What? speak up young man." One of the customers shouted, raising a horn to his ear.

"Never mind they won't." Ivy laughed. "So how are you doing by yourself?"

"It's lonely at night to be honest."

Ivy just chuckle, "I don't think the Plantars house is that bad."

"The house is find I just wish it wasn't just me there."

"You really that lonely Mabel?"

Mabel try to put on a fake smile that anyone could see through, "I am fine, it not like I am use to having a brother as a roommate, now I am having a strange big house all too myself."

"Well, my room has spare blankets, been a while since I had a sleepover."

"That would be awesome! Sleepover!" She said, pulling out a some yawn, wanting to make her friend a sweater, getting a laugh out of the young waitress.

"Thanks, you're a blast to hang with."

"So are you!"

"The lunch rush is here so I got to go." Ivy hopped away.

"Ok!" But she quickly saw Ivy was overwhelmed. Mabel shoved the rest of her food in mouth and ran up. "I can help!"

"Have you ever worked in a tea shop before?" Ivy probably should be so picky.

"Nope! But I worked in my Grunkle's store plenty of times."

"I don't know what that is but you sound confident and we need some help."

"I won't let you down." She said, full of confidence.

"Thank you."

Mabel ran about cleaning tables and taking orders. She couldn't spell half of them but had to pretend she could.

"That was worse than normal." Ivy confessed.

"Maybe you guys need help? Even a part timer."

"I think so just be careful with the tea."

"Why?"

"It's just hard to find some replacements for the stuff."

"Maybe I could come help some more?"

"I would like that." Ivy noticed how happy Mabel was. "So how is Sprig doing?"

She grinned showing off her braces, "He's doing good."

"That is what I like to hear."

"Aww your blushing!"

"No I am not! This is just a frog thing!"

"Ooooooh." Mabel knew what that actually meant.

"You're not going to stop this, are you?"

"Not until I hear wedding bells." She was rubbing her hands together to show she was plannings stuff.

"Okay you're not crazy." She lied.

Mabel gave another grin, "Yes!"

Ivy was kinda surprise she believed it. "I gotta say, it is Nice having someone around my age to spend time with."

"I remember feeling that way in Gravity Falls until I met my friends."

"Gravity falls? You've never mentioned that place before." Mabel's face fell downcast when Ivy mention that, "Was it something I said?" The frog tilted her head.

"I'm a little homesick..."

"That have to be rough." She leaped to pat on the taller girl back.

Mabel sniffled. "I hope to see them again."

"I am sure you will. Not like a human have ever got stuck in Amphibia before."

"That you know of."

"Silly Mabel, I know everything." She joked.

"You're so cray-cray."

"I know you are but what am I."

"Crazy together."

"I like that." Ivy replied.

"Hey maybe once Sprig and the others are back we could do something together?"

"Maybe we can ambush Sprig."

Mabel was giddy, "You know it."

After that they spent the rest of the day talking about boys, their world, what happen to the Plantars parents, clothing, and other normal girl stuff.

Meanwhile, with the Plantars…

The three Plantars sat around a bonfire, as a dull green frog sat on the other side of the fire. He seemed large enough to be a toad. His skin was covered in various tattoos , his long green beard had bones of some unknown animal in it. His vest oozed green slime while his shorts looked as if they had seen better days.

Sprig sneezed, "I think someone is talking about us."

"Are you all here for the story?"

"Sure, lay it on us Soggy Joe!" Polly said.

"Come around and sit by the fire, and come listen of the story so dire."

Hop Pop answered, "Um, we already are."

"This is a story hear when in the mirror I saw the imagine of youth, but I can assure you it is the truth."

"Say what now?" Polly asked.

"It's a true story he heard when he was younger." Hop Pop replied.

"This is the story of a frog who was quite the charmer, he was a traveler, working the land wherever he went ."

"Oh no… he's going to talk like this the whole time." Polly complained. Sprig nodded in agreement.

"Click clack, click clack, click clack, he went searching for a sliver of black."

Sprig raised an eyebrow. "Like coal?"

"He started to travel down the road unaware of the danger, as he walked he hear the sounds of ground cracking giving him alarm."

"Click clack, click clack, click clack, this noise made him wonder if he should backtrack."

"As he walked his mind started to wonder, and after another loud boom he started to ponder."

"The sounds caused him to go faster. He stepped on a stick, clack click, clack click, clack, click, clack, click."

Polly told him to go on.

"The sounds of chaos was causing him to run with a zeal, when he turned he found standing there an armor of steel."

"Despite how he was completely meek, his curiosity was peaked."

"The mysterious knight suddenly stuck the ground, after the shake safety he dared to bound.

"From the knight hand came fire spray, for our brave farmer ran and to frog he pray."

"As he ran a weapon he was looking to be found, a spotted old farm tools that were downed."

"He swung with all his might separating helmet from suit, and from that mighty swing the helmet landed near his boot."

"As the helmet rolled along the road, he looked inside but inside no frog, nor newt, nor even toad."

Sprig interrupt: "What, what, what?"

"Inside the armor lacked any host, yet still move as if it was moved by some kind of ghost."

"The farmer tried to escape but was found, his body was buried in this very camp grounds."

"Boo!" One-Eyed Wally yelled, prompting Polly to punch him.

"When did you get here?" Sprig asked.

"I been here the whole time."

"Wah?" Polly asked.

"You're braver than I thought."

"Wasn't that scary!" Sprig insisted.

"I'll have to work on my story for next time. Well off to bed." Soggy Joe went.

"Was it real?" Polly asked.

"Who's to say?" The larger Frog said ominously.

"Ummm you?"

He just laughed evilly.

Polly whined. "I wanna know!"

To be continued…

Go Sprig.

Will Mabel learn science (like the kind Ford does)?

Which Amphibia character do you hate most?

What do you like most about Sprig?

My response: I think she will be a bit smarter by the end, but I don't see her even wanting to be near Ford level. I think if I had to choose one, maybe the Mayor. I love how energitic he is, and funny too.

pokeball645chapter 12 .Aug 20

This is quite a good story, dude. Though, you might want to get chapter 12 another look, it's kinda hard to read. Other than that, amazing!

My response: Thank glad you like it, I think I might give it a look over want I got season 1 done with.
