After they made it to the Third Hokage Tower, Shisui explained Itachi's betrayal and the massacre he committed against the Uchiha Clan.
He also explained that Itachi wasn't the only person who participated. He saved Izumi from another Uchiha who tried to kill her.
The Third Hokage was beyond shocked at what he heard. He thought Itachi was a very loyal member of Konohagakure, but it seemed he was very wrong.
He told them he would send a group of Ninjas to clean up the place and he would give them a place to stay in the meantime. He gave the clan's money inheritance to Mikoto and suggested that they go to the hospital to treat any injuries.
The only person who went was Izumi as she was more injured than the others. Shisui went with her because he knew she needed the support.
Sasuke and Mikoto was now over Kushina's house. Mikoto needed someone to talk to and decided to visit her best friend. Plus she said that Sasuke could talk with her daughter, Naruko Uzumaki Namikaze.
Right now they were in the living room and Mikoto and Kushina in the Kitchen.
Naruko looked at Sasuke with empathetic eyes. "I'm sorry that happened to you Sasuke." She said.
Sasuke just looked back at her, not saying anything.
"I understand if you don't want to talk, but I do know what it's like." A reminiscing Naruko looked forward.
A curious look overcame Sasuke's expression. "You do??"
"Yes...I do. On my Mom's side was the Uzumaki Clan. They were a clan of very powerful and strong Ninjas. Experts at sealing jutsus and had massive life forces." Naruko started.
Sasuke looked attentive as he listened. "What happened to them??" He asked.
"During the Third Ninja War, some of the world's nations banded together to destroy them because they were deemed too powerful. Now most of the Uzumaki Clan are gone, only a bit of us still live." Naruko answered as she finished.
Sasuke looked down in thought. "How does that make you feel??"
Naruko looked back at Sasuke. "It...makes me want to get stronger to protect what I have left. I only have my mom as my father died alongside yours Sasuke."
That's right
His mother did tell him how his father and the Fourth Hokage died on the same day as heroes.
She neglected to tell him what they died to as she said she would tell him at the right time.
Though curious, he trusted his mother's word.
Sasuke looked back at her. "I..feel the same way. I will get stronger to protect the family I have left and those I treasure. I won't let my brother's actions stop me from doing what's right." He said.
Naruko gently put her hand on Sasuke's and smiled sweetly at him. "Then let's get stronger together."
Sasuke looked slightly surprised for a second, but then gave her a small smile and nodded to her.
Mikoto and Kushina walked out the kitchen with knowing smiles. They heard the interaction and was proud of them. Especially Mikoto, she was proud of Sasuke for not succumbing to the curse of hatred. She was very thankful to Naruko for helping with that.
"Food is ready." A smiling Kushina said.
"Coming Mom. Let's go Sasuke." Naruko grabbed his hand and led him to the kitchen.
"Did you have to drag me?" Sasuke had a slightly annoyed look on his face.
"Of course duckbutt." Naruko sticked her tongue out at him.
Sasuke scoffed. "Loser." He said with a small smile.
"And to think they were just starting to get along." Kushina said.
"Let them be Kushina-chan they're having fun." Mikoto smiled at them.
Both then sat down to eat with them.

After they were finished, Sasuke and Mikoto wished Kushina and Naruko goodbye. An Anbu member came and directed them to the temporary house they would stay in as the Uchiha Compound was cleaned.
Once they arrived, they noticed Shisui and a fully healed Izumi already there.
Mikoto went to talk to Izumi and Shisui was with Sasuke outside.
"How's it going Sasuke." Shisui patted his shoulder.
"I'm good Shisui, you?" Sasuke asked him.
Shisui's eyes glazed over and Sasuke could see different emotions in them. "...I'm alright as well Sasuke. It's just been a long day." Shisui answered him, a change to his tone was noticeable.
Sasuke decided to change the subject. "What did you mean when you said I was special Shisui?" He asked.
Shisui's expression changed back to normal as he looked at Sasuke with a smile. "It's because you are Sasuke. You unlocked something that is rare to unlock in our clan, especially at your age. You unlocked the Mangekyo Sharingan."
"M-Mangecko Sarinjan??" Sasuke tried to pronounce it.
Shisui chuckled. "Mangekyo Sharingan. See look." Shisui activated his Mangekyo Sharingan and showed it to Sasuke.
Sasuke looked at it with surprise and awe.
"The Mangekyo Sharingan is the fourth level of the regular Sharingan. It retains all the Sharingan's generic abilities. It also grants powerful abilities that differ between each eye." Shisui summarized.
"So that makes me special?" An awed Sasuke asked him.
'And something else does too.' Shisui thought, thinking of the Nine Tails. He could see its sealed Chakra as he looked at Sasuke with his MS activated. "Yes Sasuke." Shisui responded.
"When will I be able to use it?" Sasuke asked, eager on using it now.
Shisui smiled reassuringly. "Well I will have to train you, so you don't overdue it. It will be fun."
Sasuke smiled. "I can't wait!" He said with excitement.
Shisui patted his shoulder again. "Let's head back inside it's starting to get late." Shisui said as he looked at the moon high in the sky.
Sasuke nodded and followed Shisui as they entered the house.
