Chapter 8: Ares Island
The helicopter carrying Gingka approaches the next Island. However, a blast hits it and causes him it to spin around and it crashes into the sand. After a moment, Gingka struggles as he gets up.
Gingka: (Gets up) Nah. It's cool. I didn't want this to be easy anyway. (He sees the pilot getting up.) You okay?
Pilot: Yeah. I'm fine. But don't worry. I'll get this helicopter fixed by the time you're finished here.
Gingka: Okay.
He leaves and starts to explore the island.
(Play Ares Island: 1st movement from Sonic Frontiers for this section.)
Gingka starts walking around the island, looking for Kenta.
Gingka: Kenta! Where are you Kenta?! He must not be here. I'm gonna keep looking. (He continues searching for his young friend as 2 guardian bladers look at him.) Time to solve some Island mysteries. (He then starts solving all the island mysteries surrounding him.) This Island. Reminds me of when I first met Team Desert Blaze. I should visit them again someday. (He then continues walking around the island before 2 guardian bladers approached him.) What the?
Shark: Hello there. You just be Gingka Hagane. Am I right?
Gingka: Yeah. Who might you be?
Shark: My name is Shark!
Strider: And my name is Strider! We're the guardian bladers of this island! We challenge you to a two on one battle! What do you say?
Gingka: Okay. Sure! After I win, I'll continue searching for my friends!
The two guardian bladers pull out their beys.
Strider: This is my bey: Tornado Herculeo!
Shark: And this is my bey: Vulcan Cetus!
Gingka: Cool beys. But that's not gonna stop me from defeating you!
All three begin to set up their beys.
Gingka, Shark and Strider: 3, 2, 1! Let it rip!
All three of them launched their beys.
(Play Guardian: Shark from Sonic Frontiers for this part.)
The battle begins and the 3 beys starts colliding with each other.
Gingka: Go Pegasus!
Pegasus charges towards Herculeo and Cetus and clashed with them.
Shark: Time to this! Go Cetus!
Cetus starts attacking Pegasus multiple times.
Gingka: What?!
Shark: Time to show you the power of a defense type Cetus! Special move! Vortex Waterfall!
Cetus stands still and a huge waterfall barrier surrounds Cetus.
Gingka: How is it doing that?!
Cetus: Any bey that gets hit by this special move will lose instantly. Go Cetus!
Cetus' barrier gets bigger and is about to hit Pegasus.
Gingka: Pegasus! (Pegasus heads towards a rock and launches itself into the air.) Time for an attack from above! Special move! Pegasus Starbooster attack!
Pegasus dives towards Cetus in a burst of speed and delivers an attack from above, destroying the barrier and defeating Cetus.
Shark: What?!
Gingka: How's that?!
Strider: Don't forget about me! Go Herculeo!
(Play Guardian: Strider from Sonic Frontiers for this part.)
Herculeo charged towards Pegasus and attacks the bey.
Gingka: I almost forgot about you. Go Pegasus!
Pegasus pushes Herculeo back.
Strider: I don't think so! Special move: Herculeo Vulcan Strike!
Herculeo charges towards Pegasus in a burst of speed and attacks the bey.
Gingka: Pegasus! Final Drive Mode! (Pegasus activates its final drive mode and approaches Herculeo.) Special move: Pegasus Cosmic Tornado!
Both special moves collide and a big explosion occurs, and Herculeo is defeated. Pegasus returns to Gingka.
Strider: We lost!
They gave Gingka 2 portal gears.
Shark: Here you go.
Gingka: Thanks. Let's battle again sometime!
He runs off.
Strider: For an unwanted pest, he's actually really nice.
Later...
Gingka was still looking around for Kenta, and then he sees a cybercage.
Gingka: That must be Kenta! (He walked towards the cybercage, and then noticed Kyoya and Benkei inside it.) Kyoya? Benkei? What are you two doing here? Don't worry. I'll get you guys out!
He then approached the cybercage. We see Kyoya and Benkei encapsulated in a dome. A suspicious Gingka walks towards it. He grins with glee. Silver watches over the action. Kyoya and Benkei are freed from the dome, in expense of cyber energy, which paralyzes Gingka. Kyoya and Benkei notice their weird looking hands.
Kyoya: (To Gingka) Some rescue. We're still half-ghost!
Benkei: Yeah!
Gingka: (Annoyed, as Silver walks away) I'm working on it, okay?
Gingka and Benkei give a high five, but to no effect as their hands appear though each other.
Benkei: What's going on with you?
Gingka: Ah just a little side effect of the island's weird energy. What are you guys doing so far from home?
Kyoya: We were at Wolf Canyon training for my next battle with you, and then investigated some strange ruins when we were transported here, then got trapped.
Gingka: Well, how did it happen?
Kyoya: I'll tell you.
Flashback
Scene: Far view of Wolf Canyon, stormy day.
Kyoya: Wolf canyon. A land of miracles. Of mysteries. (Close-up of Wolf Canyon.) My training spot. (Camera points at the sky, then pans down to Kyoya and Benkei, located at the bottom of wolf canyon, battling each other.) Benkei and I were having our usual training battle.
Benkei: Dark Bull Red Horn Uppercut!
Dark Bull charges towards Fang Leone.
Kyoya: King Lion Crushing Fang!
Leone's special move collies with Bull, and the tornado created by Leone defeats Bull.
Benkei: Oh come on!
Kyoya: Don't worry Benkei. That just means you've gotten a lot stronger.
Benkei was about to cry.
Benkei: Thanks Kyoya!
He tries to hug Kyoya, but the Leone blader pushes him back.
Kyoya: Ugh! Get a hold of yourself!
Scene change: Japan Day.
Kyoya and Benkei were battling other people, and easily defeated them.
Little Boy: Aw man. I lost.
Benkei: We still had fun battling you guys. Isn't that right, Kyoya pal?
Kyoya: I do have to admit, it was fun battling them. Now let's go find Gingka so I can defeat him in a beybattle!
A little girl was heard crying.
Little Girl: I can't find my bey!
She continues crying.
Kyoya: Hold on, little girl. I'll help. Benkei, calm her down while I look for her bey.
Benkei: You can count on me, Kyoya!
Kyoya starts to look for the bey.
Benkei: Don't worry. We'll find your bey.
Little Girl: Okay:
Kyoya is looking for the bey. He throws a stick, which accidentally hits the little girl, who starts to sob.
Kyoya: Hey! There, there! Um... Here! This is what you looking for, right? (he gives the bey back to the girl and she walks away happily. He then noticed a hidden entrance to the temple with large throne.) Hmm. This is different. Oh? It looks old. Even older this town. I wonder...
He inserts the relic in the throne's hole and he and Benkei are teleported to another destination via a digital energy.
At Ares Island, which is raining at night...
Kyoya: Huh? What was that? Where am I? This isn't Japan. Is this another one of your tricks, Doji?! Show yourself! (A group of soldiers appear in front of Kyoya and Benkei.) Uh? An ambush, huh? Your funeral.
He and Benkei set up their beys.
Kyoya and Benkei: Let it rip!
The soldiers launch their beys and Fang Leone and Dark Bull defeated them.
Benkei: Whoever is behind this better show yourself now! We'll settle this in a fair fight. And after we win, you'll send us home. Got it? Huh? Who the...
Asura along with Silver appear behind Kyoya and Benkei with the latter staring directly at them.
The next day at Ares Island...
Kyoya and Benkei wake up and find themselves trapped inside a holographic cybershere in the middle of the desert. Kyoya then yell with frustration and angerwhile Benkei starts crying.
Kyoya: I do things on my own and that's just like how like it. I don't get anyone else to get by. (Scene cuts to black) But sometimes...
End of Flashback
Kyoya: And now, I'm here on this island. But after I'm back to normal, we're battling again, so I can defeat you!
Gingka: (Looking away) Never a dull moment with you.
Kyoya: Just bring us up to speed.
Gingka: Listen, help me get stronger so I can defeat some strong bladers. You'll be free and back to training for our next battle in no time.
Kyoya: (Thinks, then shows a competitive look) Sounds like a plan.
Gingka shows his rivalry back to Kyoya.
Benkei: Hey! What about me?!
Gingka: You know? I think I want to battle you two right now.
Kyoya: Actually...
Kyoya and Benkei pulled out Fang Leone and Dark Bull and they are glitched due to their owners being in cyberspace.
Gingka: Wait! This is affecting your beys as well?!
Benkei: Yeah. Due to the situation we're in, we can't battle you.
Kyoya: Yeah. If our beys try to clash with yours, they will go through them like a ghost.
Gingka: Oh... But don't worry. All I have to do is defeat the titan bladers and you guys will be free.
Benkei: That's the spirit, Gingka!
Gingka: Thanks. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to cyberspace.
Gingka runs off while Kyoya and Benkei follow him.
Later, they made it to a cyberspace portal.
Kyoya: You know? It's not fair. How come you get to jump in and out of cyberspace and we're stuck halfway?
Gingka: Beats me. It sounds like we all experienced the dimension differently.
Benkei: Yeah. We didn't see any way out. Your trips sound less complicated.
Gingka: Well, whatever. The spooky sky voice says I just have to defeat the Titan bladers to get you back to normal, so we need a plan!
Kyoya: Oh yeah? Why isn't it talking to the rest of us then?
Gingka: I don't even know.
Gingka then puts his hand on one of the portal gears and it teleports him into cyberspace.
(Play Slice & Sway from Sonic Frontiers for this section.)
Gingka enters the cyberspace version of Japan and sees Rock Leone spinning in the stadium.
Gingka: So it's Kyoya's old bey this time. Okay then. Let it rip! (He sets up Pegasus and launches the bey into the stadium.) Go Pegasus! (Pegasus attacks Leone, which quickly uses Lion Gale Force Wall.) That's Lion Gal Force Wall! Doesn't matter. Pegasus can tear through it! Go Pegasus! (Pegasus charges towards the bey with full power and collided with it, sending it flying.Leone then used King Leone Tearing Blast and charges towards Pegasus while it's special move is active.) Pegasus! Final Drive Mode! (Pegasus activates its final drive mode.) Special Move! Pegasus Comsic Tornado!
Pegasus attacks Leone and both special moves collied and a big explosion occurs. Leone stopped spinning while Pegasus continued. Pegasus returns to Gingka and he goes through a portal, exiting cyberspace.
Gingka returns to Ares Island, but Kyoya and Benkei are not seen.
Gingka: Kyoya? Benkei? Looks like they got bored of this part of the island. (He then pulled out Pegasus.) Let's go find that next Titan blader.
A shine flashes on Pegasus.
