Chapter 11: Rise of the Soldier Koco
Gingka approached Kyoya and Benkei, who are with a group of Soldier Kocos.
Gingka: What's up?
Benkei: These Koco are supposed to link up with another unit, but an enemy has them pinned down here.
Gingka: Aren't you guys supposed to be helping me get stronger so I can save you?
Kyoya: We can do both! Hurry up if you want it on the fight!
Gingka: Okay. Let's do it!
(Play Ares Island: 4th Movement from Sonic Frontiers for this section.)
Gingka, Kyoya, Benkei are walking through Ares Island with the group of Soldier Koco.
Gingka: Madoka said her cyber cage wasn't a fun time. How was it for you guys?
Kyoya: Miserable. Like a living nightmare. It was the most alone we've ever felt. And at the same time, we were drowning in terrible visions and emotions. Like I said, nightmare.
Gingka: Yeesh. These visions... They weren't like the visions Dynamis showed us a little while back, were they? Do these ruins sync up to when you battled Doji at Wolf Canyon?
Kyoya: We don't think so. But if you're right, and that prison was bringing back to memories?
Benkei: That is just cruel! If I find out who designed it, they're gonna pay!
Kyoya: Yeah, and besides the Koco, this islands seem deserted, don't they?
Gingka: Yeah. I've seen a lot of the Ancients' buildings on both islands, but nobody's home.
Kyoya: Given their state of decay, and how much nature has restrained them, I'd say they've been gone for a long time. Longer than any civilization we know of. I'd like to think they simply moved on and settled somewhere else. Not that they're... gone. Some of the active technology seems built for storing and protecting the power of the beys we use. Comparing that to what's at Wolf Canyon... We feel like we were drawn here for a reason.
Gingka: I can see that.
Benkei: Hey Guys, we're here.
The scene shows an open field and the soldier Koco are now surrounded by 4 sets of generic beys in groups of four, which were launched by robots.
Kyoya: Oh really?!
Benkei: That's not cool!
Kyoya and Benkei pull out their beys, but they're still glitches like them.
Kyoya: Grr... Gingka, it's all up to you.
Gingka: Okay. (He sets up Pegasus.) Let it rip!
(Play Quest: The Best Defense from Sonic Frontiers for this part.)
Pegasus charges towards the beys that are surrounding the Kocos.
Gingka: Go Pegasus!
Pegasus starts attacking all the beys that have been surrounding the Koco.
Kyoya: Get those beys out of here!
Benkei: Go Gingka!
Gingka: Pegasus, save those Koco!
Pegasus manages to defeat all the beys that have been surrounding the Koco. Afterwards, it returns to Gingka.
Kyoya: Whoever launched those beys should be ashamed of themselves!
Benkei: Yeah!
Gingka: I defeated the beys and the Koco are safe.
Benkei: Nice one.
The two groups of Koco soldiers are reunited together, being watched over by the heroes.
Kyoya: Nice work, soldiers! Now let's link up with the Main Force.
Gingka: Yeah, you make a great supervisor, Kyoya. Maybe try fighting next time, though?
He chuckles while Kyoya grunts back. Silver watches over Gingka.
Silver: He is aware of what the Koco are, isn't he? Why does he try to help them when their fate is already decided?
Gingka, Kyoya, Benkei and groups of soldier Koco started heading towards the other part of the island. A bright light blinds the three bladers. The tone turns red. Kyoya and Benkei look at their normal selves. Gingka notices the horde of Ancients. The Warrior summons several walls which rise up and form a fortress.
Gingka: I've experienced this before! We're somehow seeing a battle from the past.
Kyoya: Those defenses are impressive. Maybe I should get some notes for a new special move of Leone.
Suddenly, several blasts detonate these walls in a bright flash of light. As soon as the light fades, Gingka, Kyoya and Benkei are back to their old looks. Gingka looks at Kyoya and Benkei, then sees a symbol in the sky. Kyoya and Benkei quickly approach an inanimate and immobile Soldier Koco.
Benkei: Guess the defenses didn't work after all.
Gingka also sees a dead and inanimate Koco on the ground.
Gingka: The defenses may not have worked, but we can still try to help the Koco.
Kyoya: You're right. Let's get a move on.
The three bladers start to walk to the next part of the island and the sun begins to set.
Back in Cyberspace...
Ziggurat laughs. It is revealed that Silver is talking to him.
Silver: Then the Titan blader's bey attacked Pegasus again!
Ziggurat laughs harder and then stops.
Ziggurat: I look forward to your battle reports once we're home.
Silver: Home?
Ziggurat: I'll integrate you into my system, give you control of the whole HadesNet. I'll have you network all my bladers. You'll be a refreshing change of pace from Zeo and Faust.
Silver: Zeo and Faust? They were your bladers before they reunited with Masamune Kadoya, right?
Ziggurat: Hmm... I suppose so.
Silver: I see... Well, I look forward to joining you after all this.
Back on Ares Island...
Gingka grabs four portal gears and puts two of them in the portal, which activates and he puts his hand on the gears, and he is taken back to Cyberspace.
(Play Déjà Vu from Sonic Frontiers for this section.)
Gingka returns to cyberspace, which is Koma Village themed and sees Ray Striker spinning in a stadium.
Gingka: It's Masamune's old bey this time. (He sets up Pegasus and launches it into the stadium.) Go Pegasus! (Pegasus charged towards Striker and attacks hard. Striker used Lightning Sword Flash and attacks Pegasus.) That's Lightning Sword Flash. But I must defeat this bey if I want to move on! Go Pegasus! (Pegasus recovers and clashes hard with Striker and then uses the edge of the stadium as a ramp.) I defeated this bey before in reality and I'll do it again in cyberspace! Special move! Pegasus Starbooster Attack! (Pegasus charges towards Striker at a burst of speed and attack it, sending it flying out of the stadium and Pegasus returns to Gingka.) Nice work Pegasus!
He heads to a portal and goes through it, leaving cyberspace.
Gingka returns to Ares Island.
Gingka: Okay. Now to get a move on.
Gingka starts to make his way to Kyoya and Benkei.
Stay tuned for chapter 12.
