False Sighting and a New Threat
/City of Magnolia/
It was a peaceful day in Magnolia as Natsu and Erza roamed the shopping district. The pair had decided that they would scout for items they wanted for their new home before taking any jobs in order to get an accurate estimate on the amount of jewel they would need.
"So we have the basics covered," said Erza as she wrote down some notes onto a piece of paper.
"Yeah, but we still need to wait for that shipment of designer curtains you wanted for our room to come in," Natsu replied with Erza noting it on the piece of paper. "Plus, it looks like that incense you wanted is gonna be out of stock for a while."
"It can't be helped Erza sighed as she shook her head. "Looks like we have most of the things we need however there are a few essentials missing such as cake mix."
"Erza, that isn't an essential," Natsu replied, cringing when he saw what looked to be Erza on the verge of tears. "Ok fine, it's an essential. Where do we find it?"
Erza's smile returned full force as she dragged him back into the crowd of people though inwardly, he was enjoying the rather trivial shopping trip just as much as she was. It had been many years since he could walk through a market and not expect an attack from a hostile force after all.
The two strolled around the shopping district and browsed the various wares for sale. Erza was particularly fond of the cake stall which resulted in Natsu simply shaking his head before handing over the jewel for Erza's treat.
"How can you eat so much of that anyway Erza," Natsu asked as Erza simply stared at him with a look of annoyance.
"Are you trying to tell me something Natsu," she asked darkly as Natsu casually raised his hands to silence her.
"I just mean don't you ever get sick of having the same type of cake over and over again," he said as Erza's gaze returned to normal.
"Oh, well I've never really thought about it. I guess I just love it that much," she replied with a smile before taking another bite. "Do you ever get sick of eating fire all the time?"
"But fire doesn't always taste the same, every person who uses it gives it a unique flavour."
"Really? I wonder if such a thing could be done with cake …?"
Natsu just smiled as the two continued to walk amused at her childlike fascination with cake as they came across what appeared to be carpets and noticed her immediately moving to the redder shaded section.
"Let me guess Erza, you want red carpets?"
"Strawberry carpets," Erza sighed as Natsu struggled not to laugh.
"Got cake on the brain?"
"I do not!"
"Well then, would you care to explain to me what a strawberry carpet looks like?"
Erza seemed to be stuck in some form of embarrassment as she tried to find a comeback to Natsu's question and failed. Eventually she just resorted to whacking him over the head which settled the matter in her opinion.
"I think we've bought enough for now so let's head back home before checking in at the Guild Hall, eh Erza?"
"Alright but you owe me a slice of cake when we get there."
"Wait, but you've already had like three slices from three different vendors and that piece you had under your pillow this morning! Why would you want more?"
"Nonsense, those were but snacks. Now let us be off!"
Natsu sighed and shook his head as Erza led the pair back home, he knew she would eventually have to calm down on cake or else she would get fat. How do you tell a woman that she will get fat if she eats something like cake all day every day?
The answer was you have it mentioned at the funeral.
/Fairy Tail Guild Hall/
The duo arrived a few minutes later to the sound of another brawl which caused Erza to growl in annoyance. Natsu could see the tell-tale signs of her about to blow up and wisely decided to put as much distance between her and the impending disaster as possible.
"Hey Erza, you go deal with that, I have something I need to talk to Gildarts about," he said as Erza gave him a questioning look. "Relax I'm gonna tell you soon but as of right now my information is only a rumour so I wanted to talk to Gildarts about how I should approach it."
"That's fine then, just make sure you fill me in if it's important," she replied before stomping her way into the Guild Hall, the sounds of the brawl dying almost instantly.
As Erza handled the brawl, Natsu walked over to Gildarts who was strategically positioned at the bar. Taking a sip from his mug, Gildarts noticed Natsu coming and motioned for him to come over with a slight jerk of his head.
"Hey, what's up kid," Gildarts asked as Natsu motioned to head to Makarov's office. "Ah I see."
Skulling the rest of his drink and passing the mug to Mira, the two went up the stairs and closed the door before taking seats on the couches in the office.
"So, what's the problem," Gildarts asked as Natsu simply stared at the roof.
"Well, I can't be a hundred percent sure about this until I ask but after the Master is done with the Wizard Saints meeting doesn't he have to go to Clover for the Guild Masters conference?"
"Yeah, that's what he told me before he left. Why," Gildarts replied prompting Natsu to sigh heavily, running a hand through his hair as he processed the information.
"Well, from what I overheard from a bunch of Dark Guild Mages they are getting a hold of some dark flute that they plan to use in Clover. Supposedly it'll have the power to kill all the Masters in attendance."
"And you're sure they said Clover, right," he asked as Natsu nodded.
"I can't be a hundred percent sure this'll happen though which is why I wanted to check in with you or gramps to see what you guys think."
"Well, if they do plan to unleash some sort of dark artefact on Clover while the Guild Masters are there then we can't ignore this, no matter the chance of it being true or not. So, here's what we'll do. I'll head out and do some scouting of the area that the flute is supposed to be located and if I find anything I'll let you know quickly," he said as Natsu nodded in approval.
"So what do you want me to do," he asked as Gildarts looked at him with a grin.
"Well, a little bird told me that someone by the name of Salamander showed up in the port of Hargeon," he said as Natsu's eyes widened.
"Are you serious," he asked to which Gildarts nodded.
"So, what I was thinking is whilst I'm out on recon you could go look into that and we meet back here so I can let you know what I find," he said as Natsu shot up out of his chair.
"Well, I guess I'd better get going, I really hope it's him," Natsu said as he raced out of the office.
Erza was busy browsing the jobs request board as Natsu rushed over to her, more of a bounce in his step than usual which she almost instantly picked up on.
"Something wrong Natsu," she asked as Natsu shook his head.
"Nah, nothing like that it's just Gildarts gave me a clue to where Igneel might be," he replied excitedly. "So obviously I'm heading out to see if the clue is legit or not!"
"So, you want to go find Igneel then," she asked as Natsu nodded.
"Yeah, we need to get to the port of Hargeon," Nastu said as Erza simply nodded and the two turned around and were about to head out when they were met by Elise.
"Oh, hey Elise how are ya," Natsu said cheerfully as Elise smiled at him.
"I'm doing fine Natsu thank you," she replied. "So you're going out on a job then?"
"Not quite, Natsu got a clue about where his Father might be so we're heading there now," said Erza.
"Wow, isn't your Father a real Dragon," Elise gasped wide eyed at the thought of seeing a real live Dragon. "Can I come with you guys!?"
"Sure, I don't see why not," Natsu replied cheerfully "We'll need to get to the train station quick, the midday line will be departing soon."
"Are you certain we won't need to pack? I can just slip back to the house and-?"
"No, I don't think we'll even be gone a day Erza so you don't need to pack," Natsu said, inwardly relieved she wouldn't be bringing the collection of suitcases with her.
The group took off towards the station with Natsu silently praying that he'd finally found his Father, no doubt the old fool was getting a punch in the nose for leaving him for so long if he did in fact happen to be there.
/On the Train to Hargeon/
The group had barely made it in time for the trains' departure as the conductor was giving the final call before the train was to depart.
The group made their way to an empty booth and took a seat.
"So Elise, how are you finding Fairy Tail," Erza asked curiously, inwardly glad to see the God Slayer's face brighten up at the question.
"Well I really like it," she replied with a grin. "Everyone is so lively and no one has judged me for my power yet. Plus, everyone is really nice compared to the Rune Knights where they're all just a bunch of depressed emo's who couldn't hack it as Guild Mages."
"That's pretty specific," Natsu replied with an amused gaze. "Care to share?"
"Well … Ah what the hell, the bastards basically fired me so who cares if they find out I told or not!"
"That's the spirit," Natsu grinned only to be whacked over the head. "I-I mean … perhaps you should care … a little."
"Maybe," Elise replied with a smirk. "Anyway, basically what I'm talking about is how most Rune Knights are guys who either got kicked out of a guild or were too weak to even get into one. Anyone Squad Captain or below are basically trash who rely on lacrima infused weapons to fight, its pretty pathetic if you ask me."
"And that is meant to be the military of Fiore," Natsu asked in an oddly subtle tone.
To Erza, it sounded as if he was just in genuine disbelief which she honestly was too. If the Rune Knights were indeed that pathetic then there was little hope of the Council stamping out the Dark Guilds.
To Elise however, she could sense something within the question. There was a hidden layer of anxiety hidden beneath it, a question that seemingly begged her to deny what she had just said almost hidden beneath a mask of disbelief.
"Hate to break it to you guys but the Magic Council are afraid of mages having too much power," Elise sighed as she noticed Natsu's gaze harden for barely a moment. "Look at me, they tossed me aside like trash because I was far too powerful for their liking."
"Probably think the guilds will just step up if war comes to Fiore," Natsu scoffed prompting Elise to hum in agreement.
"Indeed, that does seem to be their MO. Sacrifice the guild mages so that they can continue to profit in the long term, sapping cash from the official guilds," Elise sighed before shaking her head. "But enough about them, I wanna talk more about the guild!"
"What about the guild," Natsu asked curiously whilst hailing over the snack trolley.
"Well I don't know, anything," Elise laughed in response. "If I'm going to be a part of Fairy Tail I really should get to know everyone a bit better, right?"
"That's a fair point," he conceded in reply before looking over at the trolley. "Ok you guys what do you want?
"I want that entire cake," Erza replied immediately as the trolley lady blinked in response.
"She's serious, just so you know," Natsu sighed as the trolley lady slowly passed over the entire strawberry cake. "And you Elise?"
"Are you sure Natsu, I can pay for my own …"
"Relax, I'm an S Class Mage so I can easily afford it. Besides, we're gonna be on this death-trap for awhile so we may as well eat while we wait," he replied as he grabbed some whiskey from the cart.
"Well I guess that's ok then," Elise said as she reached for a strawberry muffin.
Erza's eyes widened at Elise's choice of pastry. "You like strawberry too?"
"Yes it's my favourite flavour, I can't find a better tasting treat. Actually I'm quite partial to anything chocolate as well come to think of it," she replied cheerfully as she took a bite.
"But between chocolate and strawberry, which one would you eat first if they were placed in front of you?"
"Hmm …"
"Leave her be Erza," Natsu sighed only for Elise to wave off his concerns.
"Its fine Natsu, just a bit of a tough question since I like both of them a lot. Though, in all honesty I'd have to say I'd pick the chocolate one."
"B-but …"
Natsu could only shake his head, Elise giggling at the utterly defeated look on Erza's face. It was like someone had just stolen her cake and managed to escape her wrath, a depressed shell of a mage that could do little more than sulk left in her place.
"I wasn't finished," Elise said between fits of giggles. "I'd pick chocolate because you'd already have called dibs on the strawberry one!"
"Heh, that's actually a good one," Natsu chuckled as Erza looked at Elise in surprise.
"Wh-what's that supposed to mean!?"
"I think what Elise is trying to say Erza is that even if she was alone in the room with the two choices, you'd still manage to force your way into the scenario to get the strawberry cake," Natsu laughed as Erza began to pout at the pair, a fierce blush on her face.
"That's not funny!"
"Come on Erza, I've only known you a short while but even I know you're a veritable bloodhound when it comes to strawberry anything," Elise snickered before bursting into full blown laughter.
"Anyway, those two aside, I'll have that bottle of whiskey please," Natsu said as he took the bottle from the cart.
"One whiskey, one … entire, strawberry cake and a chocolate muffin comes to … twenty four hundred jewel please."
"No problem," Natsu nodded as he handed over the money as the trolley lady moved on. "Now then …"
Slugging straight from the bottle, Natsu noticed both Erza and Elise were looking at him with raised eyebrows. Narrowing his own, he stopped drinking from the bottle and looked at the pair questioningly.
"What?"
"Seriously Natsu?"
"What!?"
"What Erza means to ask is why are you drinking so early in the morning," Elise supplied helpfully as she motioned toward the bottle. "Especially since we're about to head out on a small mission?"
"I mean I can't really get drunk off of regular alcohol anyway, I just like the taste," Natsu replied prompting Elise to hum in agreement.
"Must be a Slayer thing, I can't get drunk either."
"Really?"
"Yeah, the God blood filters it out so drinking for me is for the taste alone," Elise replied in a somewhat depressed tone. "I do wish I could experience what being drunk was like just once though."
"There is a drink that can get me drunk, not sure if it would work on you since its an ancient Dragon concoction, but we could test it out sometime?"
"Really? That sounds like a fun way to spend an afternoon," Elise grinned before looking over at Erza. "And even if it fails to work we can always just feed it to Erza and see what happens."
"Wh-why am I suddenly the guinea pig in all of this!?"
"A drunk Erza, somehow I feel like that wouldn't work out well for anyone involved," Natsu chuckled only to receive a light swat on the shoulder.
"Anyway, conversation on my supposed drunken state aside! Natsu, while we have time why don't you fill me in on what you wanted to speak to Gildarts about," Erza asked prompting Natsu to nod slowly in agreement.
"Yeah, I guess I should and you'll want to probably hear this too Elise in case this becomes an issue since I was gonna take you with us on this if it turned out to be a legit problem," Natsu replied as Erza and Elise looked at each other with deep frowns.
"So, what is it Natsu?
"Alright, so basically on the train ride back when I told you two to find us a booth because I wanted a drink, I wasn't honest with you entirely. Basically, I could sense the presence of Dark Mages so I wanted to listen in on their conversation," he said as he took another sip of his drink.
"So, I'm guessing you didn't want to make a scene then," Erza asked curiously.
"Yeah, I didn't have proof they were a Dark Guild until I heard what they were talking about," he continued. "Basically, they were after a dark flute that they were gonna use during the Guild Masters meeting in Clover. Now what I have Gildarts doing is he's scouting out information on the guild for me whilst we do this and when we get back, we will either be going after them or it was just nonsense."
"I'm glad you informed us on this Natsu and I'm glad that you didn't rush in like the old days," Erza replied after several moments of thought. "A situation like this is indeed delicate and it could have easily incited panic if not handled correctly."
"Well, I learned a long time ago that rushing in blind only goes so far," he replied before returning to his drink.
"So, what do you think they want in Clover," Elise asked prompting Natsu to sigh.
"Well, I'm assuming that they want to kill all of the Guild Masters there," he replied bluntly which elicited a frown from Elise.
"That part was obvious."
"I know, but beyond that who can really guess as to their true motivations," Natsu continued as he looked out the window. "Most likely one of the Bharam Alliance put them up to doing this which means it'll no doubt be part of some greater plan should they ultimately succeed."
"Should we inform the Guild Masters about this," Elise wondered curiously. "I mean they are the primary targets so shouldn't they be allowed to know ahead of time, even if it isn't legit?"
"Like I said earlier, to inform anyone outside of a select few would incite panic since it would no doubt leak to the public at large. Informing the Guild Masters would make them act, a massive force of power such as them all going on the defensive at once would alert the public to the fact that something is seriously wrong and from there chaos would break out."
"Natsu is correct," Erza agreed knowingly. "This has happened before back during the early days, back when the guilds first started. If too many Guild Masters all moved in the same direction suddenly it sent the public into a frenzy. Its why the Magic Council actively forbids wars between the guilds, factions and active militarization of the towns where the guilds reside."
"To keep the public from losing their shit," Elise sighed. "Yeah, that does make sense."
"Never forget Elise that as a mage who is part of a legal guild you are held to a certain standard," Natsu explained knowingly. "We cannot actively start fights with other guilds over petty reasons and even then, the Council could still come down on us."
"But if Master Makarov ever asked you to fight another guild, would you do it?"
"Yep, in a heartbeat."
"B-but you just said-!?"
"I know what I said Elise," Natsu chuckled as he looked back over to the black-haired girl. "The rules make sense, but sometimes others don't always abide by those rules and so we're forced to act outside them for the sake of our family."
"Oh …"
"But enough about that," Natsu sighed as he motioned for the pair to look out the window. "We're almost there so finish up your food."
/Port of Hargeon/
The train pulled into the station with the three-man team disembarking, Erza still munching on a slice of cake which amused the other two to no end. As they descended the steps, Natsu scratched his head and sighed.
"So, where should we begin to look Natsu," Erza asked curiously prompting Natsu to shrug in response.
"Well, he's a Dragon, so he should stick out around here I gue-," Natsu was cut off as he heard some shouting in the distance.
"Oh my God it's the Salamander," a girl screamed.
"Well that was quick," Natsu said as the group strolled over to the crowd.
When the group arrived Elise and Erza began acting strange as Erza tapped him on the shoulder before pointing at the man in the centre of the crowd, her fist clenched and shaking which prompted Natsu to immediately sniff the air.
"Great I didn't want to make a scene," he sighed, eyes narrowing at the all too familiar scent before strolling over to the man who was currently the centre of attention.
"Hi there! Come for an autograph from the one and only Salaman-," he didn't even finish his sentence as Natsu raised a hand and released a controlled burst of Crash Magic, shattering all the rings on said man's fingers.
"Just a little word of warning pal," Natsu said darkly as he raised his hand to the man's face. "If you're gonna use illegal magic, at least try to make it look less obvious."
Turning around, Natsu walked back toward Elise and Erza. Both girls were shaking their heads and clearly rather pissed off with the man Natsu had just confronted.
"Thanks Natsu, that spell was affecting our senses," Erza sighed. "I can't believe that man was cocky enough to use magic like that so openly!"
"Ah don't worry about it you two. Besides, we can go home now since this loser was supposed to be the Salamander Gildarts was talking about," Natsu replied with his signature grin as the group began to walk away.
"Hey you," the man shouted as he pointed at Natsu who couldn't help but roll his eyes at the predictability of the man. "You're not going anywhere until you pay for what you did!"
"Look pal, I'm not interested," Natsu said as the group began to walk towards the station.
Natsu's reflexes instantly kicked in as he had already turned around and rushed a burst of flame that had been fired at the group, his body engulfed by said flames. Much to the amusement of Bora who began to laugh.
"That's right, no one messes with Bora The Prominence and gets away with it-!"
The man's words died in his throat as he watched the flames begin to be drawn into a specific spot, the form of the man he'd supposedly fried to a crisp clearly visible at its centre.
"Wh-what the hell!? How on Earthland are you doing that!?"
"Natsu's a Fire Dragon Slayer," Erza replied proudly, much to Bora's own shock. "He has all the qualities of a Dragon which allows him to use his Dragon Slaying abilities."
"Dragon Slaying Magic … But that's-!"
"Lost Magic," Erza said with a smile as Bora shakily turned toward the now fully consumed flames, his target now smirking in his direction.
"Man, that fire tasted like crap but thanks for the meal pal!"
"Listen you little punk, don't you know who I am," the man snapped which only amused Natsu who began to openly laugh.
"Course I know who you are, you're Bora The Prominence," he said with his grin widening. "Kicked out of the Titan Nose guild for all sorts of illegal activities."
The man now known as Bora had a shocked look on his face before he scowled and jumped into the air.
"I'll teach you to talk down to me," Bora said as he began charging up a spell.
Natsu sighed and disappeared before instantly appearing behind Bora. "Probably not the best idea using Salamander as your name huh," he said before hitting Bora in the back of the neck with a swift chop knocking him unconscious.
Natsu sighed as he walked back over to the group who were just acting casual. The citizens however stared at Natsu in shock. The attack Bora was charging up was more powerful than anything they'd felt in their entire lives and yet Natsu obliterated its caster in one lazy hit.
"Well, let's go," Natsu said cheerfully as the group made their way to the station.
"Hang on shouldn't we hand this guy over to the authorities or something," Elise asked prompting Natsu to shrug.
"Look at him, he couldn't really do much harm," Natsu said waving off her concerns. "Plus I at least cracked his spine so he won't be walking for awhile."
"Anyway, let's get back to the guild and speak with Gildarts," Erza said in a commanding tone.
"Aww … I wanted to see a real Dragon," Elise whined which made Natsu snort in amusement.
"Hopefully one day you'll get to meet one Elise, just gotta hope it's a friendly one …"
Elise nodded, knowing exactly 'what' Natsu was referring to as the trio set off toward the train station, the group heading back to Magnolia.
/Fairy Tail Guild/
Several hours later the group had arrived at the Guild Hall. The sound of things being thrown and magic could be heard outside. Looking over at Erza he could see her hands twitching, a dark look in her eyes prompting the man to sigh.
"Erza, calm down. We just got back so there's no reason to go off on them right now."
"Fine. There are more important things to do anyway like talking to Gildarts," she replied as the group entered the hall.
The group made their way over to the bar where Gildarts was sitting and talking to Mira who was cleaning a glass, his mug half drained already as he swished it around seemingly semi lost in thought.
"Hey Gildarts, we're back," Natsu said as he stood behind Gildarts.
"Oh, hey Natsu. It's a good thing you're back, we need to talk about that thing we discussed earlier he said as he stood up from his seat.
"Right, well I'm bringing a few people in on this so just give me a sec," Natsu replied as he turned to Mira. "You should probably be in on this too since your S Class he said as Mira gave him a puzzled look before Natsu walked over to Gray.
"Oi Gray," Natsu shouted at the ice mage who was fighting Loke.
"Can't you see I'm busy flame brain," Gray said as he punched Loke in the face.
"Look this is serious Gray I'm bringing you in on an S Class level problem," he said as Gray immediately dropped Loke and walked over to Natsu.
"Are you serious," Gray asked wide eyed as Natsu simply nodded.
"Come with me we're meeting in gramps' office," he said as the two made their way over and entered.
"Right now that we're all here I can explain the situation," Gildarts said as everyone listened intently. "Now Natsu told you two about that thing he overheard from the Dark Mages on the train, right?"
"The thing about a Dark Magic based flute," Elise asked prompting the Crash Mage to nod.
"Well … turns out those punks weren't just spouting off shit," Gildarts sighed as he pulled out a piece of cloth and placed it onto the desk. "Anyone know which Dark Guild this belongs to?"
"That's the insignia for the Dark Guild Eisenwald, right," Mira replied with a slight frown.
"That's correct," Gildarts replied. "So basically, from what Natsu told me I've discovered that these bastards are the ones we're going after."
"What's so bad about a flute," Gray asked as Natsu sighed.
"From what I've managed to find out it's a flute full of Dark Magic that Eisenwald plan to use on all the Guild Masters in Clover," he said as Gray and Mira looked horrified. "We have no idea what it does but I'm willing to put my money on it being something related to Death Magic if they think it can take out the Guild Masters in one go."
"Whatever this flute is, we've gotta take it from these bastards before they get a chance to use it," Natsu added as the group nodded in agreement. "That's why I don't think anyone is gonna argue with the amount of firepower I'm bringing along for this one, not even gramps."
"He might have a heart attack though," Gildarts snickered before coughing and regaining his serious demeanour. "But seriously, two S Class Mages and two potential S Class Mages should be more than enough to go after the flute."
"I assume you'll be going right for Clover Gildarts," Erza asked prompting the Crash Mage to nod in agreement.
"If by some miracle these guys make it past you then I'll be there to intercept, classic strategy from the old days."
"When you can manage to actually get there on time, yeah," Natsu scoffed only to receive a punch to the top of the head. "OUCH!"
"You deserved that. Anyway, you guys should get moving since I've figured out where the Guild Master of Eisenwald will be tonight. If you hurry, you can make it before he disappears again," Gildarts said as the group collectively nodded. "Apparently they're attacking Oshibana Station though I wasn't able to find out why."
"Well, at least it's something to go on so thanks Gildarts," Natsu said with a grin, receiving a pat on the head in return.
"Well, you kids better get going and Mira I want this logged as a guild mission for when the old man gets back," he said as Mira nodded and exited the room. "It'll be marked as an S Class Mission so for those of you who aren't S Class keep that in mind."
"Right so we all need to meet at the station in an hour ok," Erza said as the group nodded and began to file out of the room.
"You all be safe on your mission now," Mira called out as the mages exited the Guild Hall.
"Wait all of them are on one team," Macao asked shocked as Wakaba's cigar dropped out of his mouth.
"Yeah, that's probably the strongest team Fairy Tail has ever seen," Gildarts replied as he sat down at the bar.
"What type of job needs all of them on it," Levy asked concerned.
"I'll tell ya what job, a friggin MANLY one, that's what," Elfman yelled across the Guild Hall.
"Mira, you'd better inform the old man about this team ahead of time. I'll be heading for Clover after a good drink," he said as Mira nodded and served him his favourite.
"It's on the house, just make sure the Master comes back ok," Mira said eliciting a grin from the Ace of Fairy Tail.
"You saw the power that just left for yourself Mira. I'd be more worried about Eisenwald than about the old man," he said as he downed his drink in one go.
Gildarts stood up and left as Mira began writing the letter to Makarov.
/Clover – Guild Master's Conference Hall/
Makarov had been having the time of his life with his old friends. They had been drinking and partying for the last hour just like the good old days. He always loved these meetings since it was a chance to get away from the stress of being Master of the most troublesome guild in Fiore.
'You know, it's days like this I truly do cherish the most,' he thought as a purple bird flew through the window and landed next to Makarov.
"Hmm what's this," he said as he untied a letter attached to its leg. "Oh it's a letter from Mirajane."
Master
A lot has happened since you left for your various meetings. Natsu and Erza returned and with a new guild member named Elise. She uses God Slaying magic and it's quite powerful.
Recently, Natsu and Gildarts had been looking into a Dark Guild and they formed a team consisting of Natsu, Erza, Gray and Elise. Isn't it wonderful to see them all working so well together!?
Also, Gildarts is on his way to Clover to tell you about the Dark Guild situation so don't go anywhere for the next few hours.
Enjoy the conference!
Mirajane
Makarov's eyes were wide open. All of his hair had disappeared and it looked like his soul had left his body.
"What's up Makarov, you had too much to drink," asked Goldmine the Guild Master of Quattro Cerberus with a smirk.
"I think he must be exhausted, the poor dear," Master Bob of Blue Pegasus sighed sadly. "The poor man overworks himself just like the last two Masters of Fairy Tail."
"There'll be nothing left; the impossible has happened … Fiore is doomed to destruction," Makarov cried in despair.
"Those brats of yours up to no good again eh Makarov," asked Master Ooba of Lamia Scale with a smirk, her fingers stuck in a constant spiralling motion.
"Those damn brats, if they cause too much damage the Council will have my head for sure," he cried with all the Guild Masters bursting into laughter.
"Yeah, those kids of yours sure are wild," Goldmine grinned as they all nodded.
'I just hope this Dark Guild business doesn't get too out of hand,' Makarov thought to himself as the Masters continued to discuss various topics of interest…
