Now we get to explore more of Dastardly's family plus a familiar face from those who grew up with Laff-a-Lympics.

S1 E8: Brother My Brother

It was a busy Saturday morning in London, Judy Hopps and her friends were cleaning out Delilah Dastardly's cottage.

Muttley was organizing food and boy did he hate doing it.

"Rassm frasm the rotten food goes into the red box, the fresh food in the blue box" sang Muttley.

Once the red box was full, Muttley mashed the rotten food with a hammer, then threw it in a compost pile outside.

Bladebeak was chopping logs for firewood with help from Judy's littlest and favorite niece, Cotton.

Dastardly and Delilah were holding onto a rope as Judy cleaned out the soot in the chimney.

"You almost done, Judy?" Delilah asked nervously.

"Yep!" answered the rabbit, her voice echoing. "Pull me up!"

Delilah and Dick yanked hard and Judy popped out of the chimney, covered in soot.

"There" sighed Judy. "Now, you can move closer to London."

Delilah smiled. "I appreciate that you and the others cleaning up the cottage."

"You're welcome."

It's good for Delilah to move out of the countryside after tonight, cause the cottage was bore some to live in but it would come in handy if there was ever a war.

Judy slid down the rope, off the roof and landed on the ground.

"If only your father and brother were here to help" Delilah sighed sadly, to her son.

"Mother, I'm worried" Dastardly replied. "After fourteen years, I was kidnapped and cursed by Sneekly, tricking me into thinking he was you and that you were abusive to me."

"Richard…"

But Dastardly slammed his fist into the roof.

"Drat! I can't believe how stupid I was!" he cried. "That two faced lout was the black dog and passed the curse to me! If I didn't have the wolfsbane or Judy saving me countless times, I would have been a monster forever!"

"Richard, look at me," Delilah said, touching her son's cheeks with her palms and lifting his head.

Dick opened his eyes, which were full of longing and pain as he looked up at Delilah. She stroked his cheek, drying his tears.

"It's going to be alright, son. I'm still proud of you, no matter what happened," Delilah said. "You may have done horrible things, but Judy is here to help you. And you always know what to do if something happened to her."

Dastardly sniffed, then mumbled "You're right."

"I know how you feel, Dick. I know how confused you are with your redemption since Judy saved you. I wanted to kill Sneekly when I couldn't find you and I thought he..."

She paused and broke down in tears, afraid to finish.

Dastardly understood completely.

When he and Muttley escaped the black dog after it was caught by Marcy Kippel and her team, they tried to find Delilah and Dread Baron. When they couldn't find them, they turned to the dark side and plotted revenge on Judy in the sewers.

"And now we have to focus on trying to catch up, even if you're not my baby boy anymore" continued Delilah. "And we will do it. Together."

Then, she sat down beside Dastardly, hand on his shoulder and began to sing.

"I gave you a home, my son

"Not just me, so many

"The love in you is strong

"And now you've come home

"Now you know the truth, love

"Now forget, and be content

"When the Lord sends you a blessing

"You don't ask why it was sent."

Mother and son embraced tightly, tears streaming down their cheeks.

"Professor Dastardly, Professor Dastardly!" Cotton called out from the chimney.

"What is it, Cotton?" Dastardly asked.

"There's a big ugly man who looks like you in the house."

Dick and Delilah both gasped and carefully climbed down the ladder.

Inside the house, Judy stood her ground as the old Dread Baron himself approached her with a wicked grin.

"Hello, cutie" he cooed. "Long time no see."

"Dread Baron" Judy glared.

You see when Judy was young, she and Dick got along fine but hated Dread to the bone.

"Still cheating as always, bad boy?" asked Judy.

"Yeah, but living in America sure has changed my mind" Dread Baron smirked.

"And your accent. Yet, you don't have Mr. Mumbly by your side."

"Oh, the blue matted hairball quit after the fallout. Tell me, Hopps. Are you done being a cry baby?"

"Yeah, you all done being a pompous, bossy jerk?"

"Uh… No."

Just then, Dastardly broke the door down.

"Back off, brother!" he bellowed. "Nobody messes with that rabbit but me!"

Dread was embarrassed, seeing his brother and mother enter.

"Oh, h-h-hi, D-D-Dickie" he said nervously. "I was just stopping by and saying hello to Judy."

"Liar" scoffed Dastardly.

"Mommy, what's for dinner?"

Muttley held Dick back from attacking as Delilah stood there with her hands on her hips.

"Your brother and I are moving to the city" Delilah said sweetly, then she was stern. "You may be my son, but your bad behavior around her has always been unacceptable. You are not coming."

Dread Baron frowned. "Drat! Dickie's still not mad about that time during Hanukkah with the fireworks on the menorah, isn't he?"

Outside the cottage, it was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop when….

"AAAHHHHHHHH!"

The Dread Baron had been thrown out by Dastardly.

"And stay out!" he yelled, slamming the door.

Muttley snickered while Cotton and Bladebeak's jaws dropped in surprise.

"Lousy form, but he sure sticked the landing" laughed Judy.

"Oh, I'll admit that's was not the first time I had to throw him out" Dastardly agreed.

"And it certainly won't be the last. Mother, Dread is a grown man. He has responsibility now. He should not boss you around. You're the parent."

Delilah shook her head. "Oh, it's been hard, Richard. When we both thought we lost you, he's been acting childish and he's been that way ever since."

Judy and Cotton didn't like what they're hearing.

"Excuse me, Delilah" Judy interrupted politely. "I have to go bring Cotton home, so you can have the conversation personal."

"I'm sorry, Judy" apologized Dastardly.

"It's not your fault, Dick. It's your stupid brother."

She walked out the door with Cotton close to her, gently closing it.

Night fell and Judy came back with a lantern.

"Judy, did you see Muttley on the way in?" Dastardly asked anxiously.

"Nope, I haven't seen Bladebeak either" Judy answered.

"Oh, they're probably up in the attic, exploring" Delilah smiled.

Just then, Muttley and Bladebeak passed by, carrying food and a glass of Scotch.

"Hey, guys" Judy greeted before frowning. "What are you doing?"

"We're gettin' paid if we serve Dread for the rest of our lives" Bladebeak replied.

Muttley grumbled, knowing that it was a lie and that Bladebeak was an idiot.

Delilah knew what this meant.

She and Dastardly raced out of the kitchen and up the stairs. They found the brothers' old bedroom made into a throne room.

"Double drat, even a triple drat!" Dastardly yelled. "Dread! What are you doing?!"

"Ehh, I'd figured where the cottage would be empty, I would take it while the two oldest relatives of my family moves out" Dread Baron laughed.

Delilah tried to reason with Dread.

"Son, you can't move in here just because Dick and I are leaving" she said.

"Aw, come on, London's my home" Dread Baron ranted on. "Who needs responsibility when you have no worries?"

Just then, Bonnie Hopps, Judy's mother, came in with a basket of laundry.

"Hi, Bonnie" greeted Delilah.

"Oh, hello, Delilah" the older rabbit smiled. "Dread, the family and I managed to clean your laundry, I hope it turned out all right."

Dread Baron snatched the basket from Bonnie and dropped a carrot on her head.

Annoyed, Bonnie placed her payment in her pocket and turned to Dastardly.

"To be honest, Richard, I don't know how you two are twins and have the same mother when one twin is rotten to you" she said sadly.

As soon as Bonnie left, Dastardly glared at his own brother.

"You monster!" he yelled, beginning to cry. "You should have been the one captured by Sneekly and cursed as a black dog for all time with no antidote! You're not my brother. I HATE YOU!"

He ran out of the room, sobbing.

"Dick!" Delilah called out, before turning to Dread Baron and cornered him into the wall.

"Ooh, Dread Baron!" she scolded. "How could you? Hurt your family's heart! Making your brother cry! Getting Judy's poor family to do your laundry! Why?! We never treated the Hopps like slaves. You have a lot to learn."

She whipped around and walked away with a stern glare.

In Delilah's bedroom, Judy sat on a pillow as Dastardly cried into his mother's bed, his arms around his face.

If only Nick and Gideon Grey were here and not at Queen Anna's Gala Judy thought to herself sadly. Those two could have chased him out.

Then, Delilah came in.

"Oh, Dick, honey, I'm so sorry" she cooed softly, touching her son's shoulder.

"No, Mother, I did this" Dastardly choked between sobs. "I shouldn't have come back here. He's just going to keep being hateful."

Judy watched as mother and son hugged and both cried into each other's arms. She was so hurt and frustrated as Dastardly was.

She remembered every time Dastardly had throw Dread Baron out of the house when he was mean to her back when they were children. Even though Dread lived in the house all his life, to her, Delilah and Dick it was considered a time out for him.

But now… it was personal. And she couldn't stand it!

"Sounds to me that the way Dread's going, it will be a bigger jam than Dick" the rabbit said to herself.

Later, Bonnie was setting the bed for the Dread Baron while Muttley served a tray of food to him.

Once the blanket was placed, Dread crawled in and immediately got comfortable.

"Ok, Dickie" he said cheerfully. "Now, we hear Mother read us a bedtime story."

But Dastardly wouldn't budge.

"How come you get both our beds when we were children and I get to sleep on the floor?" he asked aggressively.

"Now, now, Richard" Delilah said sweetly. "It's just for one night."

"Mother! I'm not a child. He is!"

He sat on the floor and crossed his arms.

Muttley snickered, but Dastardly clamped his dog's muzzle shut rather then punching him as usual.

Delilah then opened a storybook, which oddly enough was hand or paw made.

"Once upon a time, there was King Midas who loved gold the most…" she read.

Dastardly plugged his ears to block the story while Dread was enjoying it. And without warning, Delilah skipped ahead to the climax.

"So, King Midas lost hope and realized that he had to ask Dionysus to take back the golden touch" she read.

Dastardly chuckled as he and Muttley saw the confusion on Dread's face.

"Huh?!" gasped Dread Baron.

"I love this part" Dastardly giggled.

As Delilah continued to read, Blazey slinked through the room, carrying a box with an antenna.

"…so Dionysus said to King Midas- -"

"Listen, king! You wanted gold, you got gold! I hope you learned your lesson!" Dastardly interrupted.

Muttley snickered along.

Dread Baron was horrified. It wasn't the version of King Midas he was familiar with. It was awful!

As if on cue, Delilah slammed the book shut and faced at the two men with shame.

"I am not going to read another word" she said.

Judy then ran into the room with a death glare.

"Listen, Dread" she said angrily. "Bladebeak's done with your dinner. Pay up now!"

With a sly grin, the Dread Baron handed Judy a stack of paper with "IOUs" written on the top. She examined it.

"Let's see, it's obvious that this isn't real money" the rabbit muttered. "Hmm, the paper was found the trash bin. The writing was done from a broken red crayon, all upper case letters. And thirdly, my family, Muttley and Bladebeak have been conned."

"Yeah, right" scoffed Dread. "I didn't con anyone."

BING! The antenna on the box blinked, indicating that Dread was lying.

"Gotcha, you liar!" cried Judy. "It's your word against yours. It's called a hustle, sweetheart."

"So, is it possible that you have taken advantage of everyone's kindness toward you?" Bonnie frowned.

"Depends what you mean by 'kindness', Mrs. Hopps" Dread said nervously.

BING! The homemade lie detector picked up the lie again.

Just then, someone showed up at the door, clumsily carrying seven silver plates.

"It's Gideon Grey!" Judy, Dastardly and Muttley said in unison.

Delilah simply smiled warmly and quickly waved to Gideon.

"Hello, old friend!" Bonnie called out.

As soon as the baker fox entered, Judy took a couple of plates off Gideon's tired arms.

"Oh, thanks, Judy" he said with a smile. "Well, Dread, I got the dinner you and your mother ordered and it's fresh from Chef Louis' kitchen."

The plates were uncovered and the animals drooled at what they saw.

"Rasm frasm fish and chips!" barked the dog.

"Ooh, homemade shepherds pie!" Judy exclaimed.

Gideon winked at Judy and Muttley as he placed the food on a table.

"Now, listen, Dread" Gideon said sternly. "I don't care if you eat this or not, it's on me."

Bonnie twitched nervously and hopped over to the fox.

"Giddy, I hate to say this but I have it from a very reliable source that Dread Baron has been taking advantage of our kindness and hurting his own family!"

The baker fox was furious and was ready to attack him like he has back when he was a cub.

Delilah, however, stopped him. "No, no, wait a moment, Gideon. He's my son born ten seconds after my Richard and I think we need to let us elders teach that youngster a lesson!"

Dread Baron shrieked like a little girl and ran off!

"Ooh, drat, drat and double drat!" Dastardly growled with fury. "That fatheaded moron is the worst villain than I ever was."

Delilah knew that this meant war.

"Gideon, Bonnie!" Delilah barked. "Light up the torches and get an angry mob ready. We're going on a man hunt."

Lead by Dastardly, Muttley and Gideon, an angry mob of the people and creatures whom of all that the Dread Baron mistreated formed, armed with torches and pitchforks.

"Dread, you get back here!" snarled Dastardly.

"Attack!" shouted the Vicar. "Drive out the monstrosity!"

Soon, the mob disappeared into the forest.

The next morning, Gideon visited Judy and told her what happened after she left for home.

"So, Dick and Delilah took out Dread?" gasped Judy.

"Yep, they're sending him out of England and on the next boat to hopefully America" grinned Gideon. "And the irony… Who needs responsibility when you have no worries?"

"And getting rid of Dread was the no worries part" giggled Judy. "But what about you, my family and Bladebeak? All those people he conned?"

"Muttley is making Bladebeak do his chores with supervision and Delilah is willing to do chores and work for them and earn money until she had enough to buy a house in London."

Judy cheered, it was great news! Though she wanted to see how Dastardly and his mother are handling Dread Baron.

Meanwhile at a boat dock in New York…

"Dread Baron, you ugly son of a sea cook!" Dastardly scolded. "Get- - Get off the boat!"

Both Dastardly and Delilah were trying to pull the Dread Baron away from the boat like frustrated parents dealing with a spoiled child.

"No, not a chance!" cried Dread. "London is my home!"

"You're going to love it!" cheered Delilah. "New Yorker girls are to die for!"

"Kill me! Somebody call the police! HEEEELLLPPP!"
