Welcome back to A Song Of Spiders And Dragons. Last time, Mayor Osborn struck down Octavius Industries in an attempt to fatten his wallet off Doctor Octavius' research and work. Our terrific trio stick with Octavius, but he encouraged them to start looking for employment elsewhere. So, what's the next step for everyone? Read on to start discovering...

(Our story resumes outside Octavius Industries, where Spyro, Cynder, and a now costumed Spider-Man sit on the rooftop, pondering what to do next)

Spyro: Poor Doc. I can't believe Osborn is doing this to him!

Spider-Man: I just wish there was something we could do to help him.

Cynder: We did offer to fund his work through the Embassy. I don't get why he keeps turning us down.

Spyro: Wait a minute, Didn't Mayor Osborn say Harry was coming back from Europe soon?

Cynder: Great idea! We could call him up, ask him to talk to his dad, maybe that'll work!

Spider-Man: Don't count on it. Harry's dad never listens to him. Remember how he tried to kill funding to his research stations?

Spyro: Good point. (Thinks about it) You know what? Let's all take a quick break, and then try to approach this later with clear heads.

Cynder: I think I see where you're going. Harry did ask us to look after those things while he was away. Maybe examining a few of them will clear our minds a bit.

Spider-Man: That's actually a good idea. Let's rendezvous in a few hours. See if we're in any better states.

Spyro: Agreed. I think there's one nearby actually!

(And with that, the trio take off to clear their heads working to save lives in another way. Fast forward a few hours, and the trio rejoins, notably feeling a bit better)

Cynder: Got to admit, dealing with Harry's little passion project here has definitely got me feeling a little bit better.

Spyro: I can agree with that.

Spider-Man: Then we're all in agreement. Something tells me Harry's going to be happy about the results we gathered. Anybody else have to deal with swinging through smog?

Spyro: I mostly ended up with water pressure and cell system glitches.

Cynder: The major one I did was fish and pigeon health, primarily.

(Just as the group appears to be feeling better again, Spider-Man's phone rings, which the group picks up, revealing Yuri is calling)

Yuri: Spider-Man, Spyro, Cynder, Shocker's escaped. He's currently robbing a bank on East 31st.

Spyro: What the heck happened?! I thought he was locked up!

Yuri: That's the thing, he was. But then one of the guards, for some reason, walked right up to his cell, released him, and gave him his suit back.

Cynder: I knew it! Shocker is working for someone!

Spider-Man: What were you able to get out of the guard?

Yuri: Not much, considering he's dead. Whoever made him release Shocker didn't want any loose ends.

Spyro: Damn.

Yuri: But here's the weirdest part. Looking at the security footage, the guard appeared to be in some sort of trance. And this part may have been the lighting, but it looked like his eyes were glowing.

Cynder: Well, that's creepy.

Spider-Man: We'll see what we can get out of Shocker when we get to the bank. Hang tight.

(And with that, Spider-Man hangs up the call.)

Spyro: This week keeps getting weirder and weirder!

Cynder: First the Oscorp Towers go out...

Spider-Man: Then there's the break-in at the auction house...

Spyro: Add this "Devil's Breath" stuff that Fisk was working on...

Spider-Man: And now a hypnotized guard with glowing eyes?

Spyro: Could this have any connection to that weird energy the demon-masked guys at the auction house were using?

Spider-Man: Maybe.

Cynder: I'm starting to think MJ is right. There's definitely something big going on here. And we're just scratching the surface of it.

(And just when she's mentioned, MJ actually calls the group back.)

Cynder: MJ, perfect timing we were just talking about you!

MJ: Good things I hope.

Spider-Man: What's up?

MJ: I've been looking into the Demons. Looks like they've established quite a presence in the power vacuum Fisk left behind.

Spider-Man: A vacuum we created by putting Fisk away. I'm starting to think Fisk's warning may have been right. This is our fault, I'm sure of it!

MJ: What were you guys supposed to do? Let Fisk keep playing Corleone? Pete, are you okay? You seem even mopier sounding than usual. And that's saying something.

Spyro: A lot has happened today. Norman pulled Doctor Octavius' funding.

Spider-Man: So, yeah, basically just lost our jobs.

MJ: Oh my, I'm so sorry to hear that! If Harry were here, I'm sure he could talk some sense into his dad.

Cynder: We considered the same thing, but we're not sure.

MJ: Wait, didn't you guys try to fund Octavius Industries through the Embassy?

Spyro: We put the offer up, but he turned it down, citing that he couldn't, in good conscience, impose that burden on us. We've been thinking of ways to tell him it's no burden, but we're not sure how to say it.

MJ: Don't worry, you'll find another source of funding, I'm sure of it.

Spider-Man: Thanks, MJ.

(With that, the group call hangs up as the terrific trio leap down from a nearby rooftop and enter the bank, prepared to stop Shocker as our tale ends for today)

And that looks like a good spot to wrap up for now. So, things continue to get more mysterious. What happened to that guard who let Shocker out? Why would his eyes be glowing? And are all the things the group just listed out connected at all? Maybe, maybe not. But for now, there's a bank robbery to be stopped. So how's our second showdown with Shocker going to go? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
