Welcome back to A Song Of Spiders And Dragons. Last time, Spyro, Cynder, and Spider-Man looked into the recycling center Martin Li owned, and discovered the plan in the works. Martin Li is building truck bombs to take out Osborn's campaign offices. Sending the evidence to Yuri, our terrific trio rushes off to stop the attack at Martin Li's base, Consolidated Shipping. So, will they be able to stop the attack? Read on to discover...
(Our scene picks up outside Consolidated Shipping, which, as expected, is crawling with Demons. Landing just outside the facility proper, Spyro, Cynder, and Spider-Man take it all in)
Spider-Man: This is the place alright. Demons everywhere.
Spyro: We have to do this quickly.
Cynder: But also quietly. If one of them finds us, we're done for.
(With stealth and speed as top priority, the trio sets to work. And sure enough, within a few minutes, the Demons are taken out and they're infiltrating the main building. Within one of the offices, the group sets to work trying to stop any attack from happening. And in that moment, Spyro finds something on the desk)
Spyro: Check this out. (Shows them a clipboard loaded with receipts) Pretty pricey custom job.
Cynder: And look at the name. Pale Horse Ridez. Isn't that Tombstone's front?
Spider-Man: And it gets worse. Check out this map. There's Demon headquarters all over the city! This isn't a gang, this is an army!
(As the trio leaves the office, another Demon emerges, this one wielding energy whips.)
Spyro: Oh great. Another one just had to show up!
Spider-Man: As if one energy whip wasn't enough!
(As the battle goes on, Spyro and Cynder quickly learn being in the air is not smart with these guys. But thankfully, Spider-Man is there to come to their rescue. And soon enough, the Demons are down again. But as the Demons fall, the scene is suddenly surrounded by silver-clad special forces operatives)
?: Copy Silver Bird, we are descending on the location.
(As the special forces operatives set to work, our terrific trio notices how brutal they're being with the now captured Demons. Having none of this, the trio rushes in and takes them down.)
Cynder: Hey! Last I checked this is not ethical police practices!
(As the two operatives fall, Spider-Man's Spider Sense goes off as more of them arrive, literally surrounding the trio)
?: Calling it in, Code SM One, Code PDL, Code ST. Holding for orders
Spyro: Okay, who are you guys?
Cynder: Call me crazy, but I think I know who these guys are.
?: Copy that. We have a visual on them, Silver Bird.
(As the group is surrounded by what look to be drop points, a helicopter emerges and in it, a silver haired woman, who leaps into battle, firing shots from dual pistols as she goes, landing on the ground and aiming at the trio as the NYPD arrives)
Spider-Man: For what it's worth, solid entrance. 8 out of 10, no doubt.
(And just like that, the supposed drop points activate, launching energy bolas that restrain Spyro, Cynder, and Spider-Man.)
Spider-Man: Okay, we can make it a nine!
Cynder: Yep, it's just who I thought it was.
(As a cop car pulls up to the scene, Yuri steps up and comes to the trio's defense)
Yuri: Release them! They work with us! (Seeing the captor is doing nothing) And the dragons are ambassadors. Do you really want to start an international incident?
(With a smirk, the silver-haired woman presses a button on her guns, powering down the energy bolas)
Spider-Man: Okay, can somebody give me an explanation as to what's going on here?!
Cynder: Gladly. Everybody, meet Silver Sablinova. Better known as Silver Sable. Head of Sable International, one of the strongest private defense forces in the world.
Spyro: Wait, how do you know her?
Silver Sable: Cynder and I met at a defense symposium in Sokovia about three years back.
Cynder: Long story short, after a long night including a drinking contest where she drank me under the table, we became somewhat close friends.
Silver Sable: My apologies for it being so long between letters. The war effort in Symkaria has not been going well.
Cynder: Did the aid the Dragon Realms sent help?
Silver Sable: Moderately.
Cynder: That's at least something.
Spider-Man: But wait, what exactly are you doing here?
Yuri: Mayor Osborn paid for their protection.
Silver Sable: Considering Cynder is a friend, I'll let you go this time. But if you ever get in my way again, I will not be so gentle.
Cynder: Believe her. Sable's word is as good as gold.
Yuri: Go. We'll talk later.
Spider-Man: Don't have to tell me twice. Last thing I need to do now is deal with Osborn's private army.
(With that, Spider-Man slings out of there)
Cynder: It's good to see you again, Silver.
Silver Sable: The feeling is mutual. (Looks at Spyro) This must be that Spyro you talked about. (To Spyro) Good things, if you were worried.
Spyro: I wasn't about to say anything.
Silver Sable: The three of us should do lunch sometime. If I get a moment.
Cynder: Gladly. Catch up on old times.
Silver Sable: Though I have a feeling we'll be seeing more of each other anyways.
Spyro: Count on it.
(And as the dragons take off, our scene ends for today)
And that looks like a good spot to wrap up for today. So, it looks like Osborn brought his own army to town, the mercenary group Sable International. And Cynder is a friend of their leader? Didn't see that one coming. Though it seems pretty sensible. So, will the personal connection make our terrific trio into a quartet? Or will Cynder see her friend turn foe? Tune in next time as we start finding out! Same time... same channel!
