In Tokyo,
Kitsune was walking around the woods when she spotted Usagi and Chung I talking. She smiled and went over. "Hello!" She said cheerfully, getting their attention.
"Hello Sue. What are you doing here?" Usagi asked kindly. "Oh, no reason. I was just walking by when I saw the two of you." Kitsune responded while eyeing Chung I who she sensed was staring at her. "Uh-huh, and that's it?" Usagi asked, looking at her knowingly.
Kitsune exhaled. "Oh, alright, you caught me. Yes, I do indeed have a reason for being here. See, I need your boys help."
"With what?"
"Yoshi and Tang Shen."
"What about them?" Chung I asked. Kitsune rolled her eyes. "The spring festival is coming soon, and they still have not asked each other out yet! Shen has yet to realize her feelings and Yoshi is too stubborn to admit his! So~ I was thinking, the three of us work together to set them up."
"How can we do that? Shen is in Fukuoka and Yoshi is about to go on a training trip with his father and brothers." Usagi pointed out. "It is a process! We can not set them up overnight, but we can slowly get them to realize their feelings for each other."
Usagi and Chung I glanced at each other then gave a deadpan look. "What do you gain from this?" Kitsune giggled. "So paranoid. I get nothing from this, darling." Usagi did not look convinced. "Uh-huh, sure but I think we are going to pass."
"Oh please! It would be-oh-so much fun!" Kitsune pleaded. "I just don't think it is a good idea."
"And I must agree with him. I am sorry, Kitsune but I will have to pass." Chung I added then left. Usagi was about to fellow but Kitsune pulled him back. "Come on, Usagi! If you help me with this, I will help you with your...situation."
"And what's that?" Usagi asked while pulling away and Kitsune smirked. "Akemi." Usagi's eyes popped wide open and he covered his mouth coughing, trying to hide his blush. "I-I don't know what you are talking about."
"Tsk! We have all seen your sorry attempts to ask her out and fail miserably. If you help me, I can give you a few pointers." Usagi sighed. "Look, no offense Kitsune but I doubt you can help me with Akemi."
"I have a better chance to succeed then you do." Kitsune snarked while looking at her sharp nails. Usagi wanted to argue but knew it was true. He does not know why but every time he tries to talk to Akemi, he chokes. She was just so much like a solider, so serious and reprimanding. She does not seem like she is interested in anyone or dating right now but...Usagi really wants to give it a shot. Kitsune and Akemi may not be close friends, but she still knew her better outside of missions and the dojo then he did.
Rolling his head up and looking up at the sky, Usagi cave and looked at Kitsune. "Alright, what do you need me to do?" Kitsune grinned and clapped her hands. "Frist thing is first; I need you to keep Saki distracted while I go talk to Yoshi. Also, make sure Saki is by the river at twelve."
"What does Saki have to do with-"
"It does not matter!" Kitsune interrupted. "Do you think you can do it or not?"
Usagi nodded.
"Great!" Kitsune cheered then quickly ran off to find Yoshi. Usagi gave a sullen look. 'I'm going to regret this...'
...
Later,
"Ok, why did you want to hang out and why was it important?" Yoshi asked grumpily as he and Kitsune took a walk around the ninja grounds. "You are leaving soon and you will not be back until a week before the Spring festival, the same day Shen comes back."
"So?"
"Don't you remember? Shen said she wished for us to get along better, and I thought if you and I spend some alone time, we might find something in common." Yoshi scoffed. "Yeah, right, you're up to something."
"Why does everyone always think that?" Kitsune muttered annoyed. "Because it is usually true!" Kitsune stopped walking and turned to Yoshi, giving him a look. "I know you and I are not close friends Yoshi but both of us, are good friends of Shen's. We both care about her and want her happy, yes?"
Yoshi shrugged awkwardly. "I guess..."
"Then can you at least try to make an effort? Even if we do not get along after this, it will make Shen happy to know we at least tried." Yoshi considered it for a while then sighed. "Fine. What should we talk about?" Kitsune smiled and they both continued walking. "Well...how old were you when you started your ninja training?"
Yoshi shrugged. "I've been training since I was 3 but I only became a full ninja when I was 15."
"Wow, that's quite young." Kitsune said, a bit surprised. "Yeah, well, never too early to learn, I guess." Yoshi brushed off. "But...did you ever want to be anything else but a ninja? Kind of seems like your destiny was decided way too early."
Yoshi halted at that and looked at Kitsune, annoyed. "What are you talking about? I love being a ninja! No one decided that for me!"
"So, you just wanted to be a ninja? That is it? Nothing else?" Kitsune said not really believing that Yoshi wanted to be a ninja his whole childhood. Yoshi squinted his eyes before turning away. "I...I wanted to be an artist at some point in my life." He said and for some reason, he looked embarrassed to say it.
"Really? Wow, I never took you for an artist!"
"It's not really something I tell a lot of people. Shen doesn't even know about it." Yoshi admitted and Kitsune looked kind of concerned. "Why not?" Yoshi shrugged. "I don't know...I guess... it has something to do with how my dad reacted when I told him."
"What did he do?"
Yoshi sighed. "He basically told me that I need to get my head out of the clouds. He said that it is tough being an artist and not a lot of people succeed." Kitsune frowned. "Your father sounds...harsh. How old were you?"
Yoshi lifted his eyes in thought. "I think...12 or 13." Kitsune frown deepened. She could not believe Yuuta crushed Yoshi's dreams like that at such a young age. "Do you still want to be an artist?"
Yoshi chuckled. "Nah. It is a hobby of mine though. My mom says I'm good but honestly, she likes everything I make for her so I can't really trust her word for anything." Kitsune then looked eager. "Oh! Can I see them?!"
Yoshi looked uncomfortable. "Uh, I don't think so." Kitsune rolled her eyes. "Oh, come on! You already told me! What is the big deal if I see?!" Yoshi thought about it. "O-k but just one picture!"
"YES!" Kitsune cheered as if she won a big prize and Yoshi rolled his eyes. "Come on." He grumbled as he led her back to the dojo.
...
In Yoshi's bedroom,
Kitsune smiled as she looked around the big bedroom. It had two twin beds, a shelf full of books, a punching bag in the middle of the room, a desk, and it was a bit of a pig sty (which is something to be expected in a teenage boys room).
"Are these books Saki's?" She asked as Yoshi looked through his desk. "Some of them are. Most of them are mine though." Kitsune's eyes widened, there had to be like 50 books on this shelf. "You like to read?" Yoshi shrugged his shoulders. "Sometimes." He answered without looking at her and Kitsune laughed. "You are full of surprises. I never took you for the reading type either."
Yoshi threw her an annoyed look before going to her and handing her a drawing. "D-Don't make fun of it!" He warned, looking flustered and Kitsune couldn't help but laugh. She then looked at the drawing and her eyes widened in wonder.
It was a beautiful cherry blossom tree, with beautiful gold grass, and a sun setting sky. "Wow...it is beautiful." Yoshi looked taken aback. "Really?"
"Yes, really. Why a cherry blossom tree though?" Yoshi blushed. "I-" He cleared his throat. "I made it for Shen."Kitsune looked surprised. "...I planned to give it to her at the Spring festival but...I probably won't go through with it."
Kitsune gave a soft smile. "...You really care about her, huh?"
"Well, we've known each other since we were kids so yeah." Yoshi said, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.
"You should give it to her." Yoshi just shrugged and stood silent as Kitsune continued to look at the picture. She could tell just by looking at the painting, Yoshi put so much care and love in every stroke. Perhaps Yoshi did not need Kitsune's help to realize his feeling, maybe what he needs is a little push."So, is this your way to tell her how you feel for her?" She teased while holding up the painting and Yoshi blushed again. He gets embarrassed so easily and Kitsune finds it so funny. "Wha-! No! I-It's just, her parents died close to the Spring festival, and I thought this would cheer her up."
"Someone who does not have romantic feelings for someone would not make such a beautiful piece of art, I am guessing you worked hours on." Yoshi looked like he had been caught red-handed and Kitsune laughed before giving him the painting. "You should tell her how you feel. Shen is a beautiful girl; it is only a matter of time before someone else sweeps her off her feet."
Yoshi looked down but she knew he heard her, and she hoped that he was at least thinking about telling Shen how he feels. "Whether you do or don't though, you should still give her the painting. She would really love it."
"Yeah...you're right." Yoshi said softly, eyes still downcast. Weither he was talking about his painting or his feelings for Shen was unclear to Kitsune, but she hoped it was the letter.
...
"These are the best flowers I have. All the girls love them." A salesman said and Saki hummed at the pink flowers he was holding. "I promise you. Buy these and you will not regret it."
"Hmm, I think I will keep looking." Saki said as he was about to walk away but- "Saki?" A familiar voice called, and Saki tensed before looking at Usagi. Usagi raised a brow at him and smirked. "Why are you buying flowers? Do you have a girlfriend I don't know about?"
"It is nothing."
"Oh, come on, Saki, you can tell me. You know I won't tell anyone." Usagi promised.
Saki sighed. "I...I am planning on asking Shen to the Spring Festival...as my date." Usagi's smile dropped. "Y-You're asking Shen to be your girlfriend?"
"Yes. I have had feelings for her for quite some time now, but I did not know how to tell her. I thought the Spring Festival was the perfect time."
"What about Kitsune? I thought you two-"
"Kitsune? Usagi, all of our dates have been nothing but payments. Every favor I or Yoshi asks of Kitsune, she takes advantage and makes me go out with her. She makes a constant fool out of me." Saki said bitterly and angrily. "I am sure she does not mean it that way. You know Kitsune she's just...that's just the way she is. She does not mean any serious harm, I think she just struggles with expressing herself normally." Usagi suggested.
"It does not matter. Shen is the only one I have feelings for."
"What about Yoshi?" Usagi said worriedly and Saki acted confused. "What about Yoshi?"
Usagi frowned. He always thought that Yoshi and Shen were always meant to be together. Shen was Yoshi's calm during a storm and Yoshi was Shen's support. The two were so close and had a lot in common. They were both bold, compassionate, determined, and strong. But Shen and Saki?...yeah, Usagi couldn't see that happening. The only thing those two have in common is the first letter in their name! Saki is like a stone-cold mountain while Shen is like the cherry blossoms, sweet and lively.
However, Usagi forced out a smile. "W-Well, that is great Saki. I'm happy for you."
"Thank you. Now, is there a reason you are here?"
"Huh? Oh, right! Um, you need to be at the river at twelve."
"For what reason?"
"J-just be there." Usagi stammered, struggling to come up with a good lie. Saki eyed him warily but agreed. "Alright, Usagi, I will be there." Usagi smiled and waved goodbye to Saki, once he faced away from his friend and headed on his way, he frowned. He did not know why Kitsune wanted Saki by the river but now, he has an idea. She must have known that Saki has feelings for Shen and not her which is why she did not want Saki to get in the way of Yoshi realizing his feelings for Shen because Kitsune wanted to ask him to the Spring festival. Usagi could not help but get a bad feeling. Kitsune is always good at making plans and getting what she wants but this time, Usagi has a feeling this was going to blow up in her face.
...
Later,
Kitsune wore an excited smile on her face, as she made her way to her bedroom. The start of her plan was working perfectly. Today was the day, she was finally going to ask him. She put on her best dress and of course, her witch hate. She was about to leave but stopped with a frown when she saw her mother. Kuzunoha was holding out a book and looking at her sternly as well as worriedly. Kitsune knew that book, it was one of the many books her mother forbad her to use... the book that has a spell to a gateway to see...him. She met her mother's eyes. "Have you seen your father?"
"Mommy-"
"Have you?!"
Kitsune hesitated. "Not yet."
"Why would you do this?" Kuzunoha asked, her voice wasp.
"Mother-"
Kuzunoha hand that was holding up the book trembled, and she took a deep breath. "After everything that I tried to warn you, you still-!"
"I am not planning to work for him or anything of the sort." Kitsune promised but that did nothing to help Kuzunoha's nerves. "How could you do this? I told you who he is! I have told you everything, yet you still-!"
"I just wanted to see if he was truly evil as you say!"
"Why would I make up such a lie?!" Kuzunoha cried. "Do you not understand what he is capable of?! What he could do to everyone?! To you?! He could make you into a monster, like he did to me!"
"Why did you even fall for a monster like him in the first place?!" Kitsune demanded.
"Kitsune-"
"No, Mother, tell me! I-I just...I want to understand."
Kuzunoha looked into her daughter's pleading eyes. She sighed. "Perhaps you are old enough to know the whole story. Take a sit, my child." Kitsune obeyed and waited patiently for her mother to speak.
"500 years ago, I had a different name. Dreamer. I was one of the fist magical beings that was ever born. Many years ago, before I came to be, there was a girl name Neko. Neko was a student in the Lotus Clan, but she began to study further into the power of the shinobi. Digging deeper into the power until she started creating spells of her own, dark spells that made the Lotus Clan fear her. She was sentence to death, but she escaped and made a clan of her own of secret witches. Years later, Neko visited another being who was also interested in learning ways of magic, my father, your grandfather, Brahma. I was soon born. My parents named me Dreamer because they believed that I would bring so much greatness into the world but...they couldn't be more wrong.
Growing up, I had a best friend, her name was Aka. Aka wanted to come out of our hiding from our secret clan, but I did not. So, Aka left on her own and found the Yuu Clan, the first clan to ever exist. They feared her, at first but then started to consider that maybe, having magic on their side would help them protect their people. Years went by, Aka had a daughter with the Clan's leader and was happy until, another woman who had loved the leader started spreading rumors about her. Aka was killed instantly, and her daughter was taken by a man named, Koga Takuza."
Kitsune gasped at the tragedy as Kitsune continued. "I soon found my friend but at the time, I had no idea what happened or that she had a daughter. All I knew was that I was angry, and I wanted revenge on not just the Yuu Clan but all of humanity. So, I... summoned a demon, your father, Dragon to help with my revenge. He promised he would help me but in return, I had to become his wife and birth him a powerful heir."
"What did your parents and the clan think of this?" Kitsune asked. Kuzunoha looked down sadly. "I never told them...I changed my name and appearance so they would never find me. I knew that if I told them that they would have never let me go through with it." She answered then continued with the story. "Together we made a plan and found one strong and powerful man that would be perfect for our cause. Koga Takuza. Using mine as well as your father's magic, I brought him back to life and made him poisons to give him immortality, but he had to keep drinking them. Soon, Koga and I created the Foot Clan. We slaughtered the whole Yuu Clan to extinction, after that we went after villages, families, and many other people. Centuries went by and finally, one brave man, was born. His name was Hamato Masato and he, built a rebellion against Koga Takuza, having had enough of all the war and unnecessary bloodshed.
I still do not know how he found out because I was always so careful, but Masato learned the secret to Koga's abilities, and he used that to his advantage. He attacked when Koga was back to being old and withered, I tried to stop him and his allies, but I was not fast enough. Masato killed Koga on the spot, but I escaped. Outraged, I cast a curse, that every second generation, Koga Takuza would be reborn. I went back home to your father after that, only to overhear him talking about domination to the whole universe. That is when I learned that Dragon never really cared about my revenge, he just used me for his own gain. I ran away and went back to my clan, only to find that it had been destroyed. Everyone that I had cared and loved was gone. All of witch kind, gone, escape for two. Myself and...Akane. Aka's daughter. She and what was left of the Foot had destroyed my clan."
"Why would she do that?"
"Koga Takuza raised her and he told her before he died that he wanted every clan destoryed, including mine. It turns out that she had been watching me from the shadows the whole time, learning everything about me, including the curse. She vowed that she would find Koga and bring back the great leader she knew. I never felt so much guilt in all my life, because of me my clan and every other innocent person was gone. I went to find Hamato Masato, and as soon as the rebellion found me, I was taken as prisoner. Masato spoke to me, wanting to know why Koga and I wanted so much war. I told him everything and warned him about the danger that was to come for the next 500 years. Taking pity on me and knowing that he would need my help, Masato gave me a second chance and gave me a punishment of eternal imprisonment. I can never leave the clan and I must serve and help them anyway I can for the rest of my days."
Kitsune looked confused. "Wait...if all of this was 500 years ago than...how was I born?" Kuzunoha frowned deeply. "Atsuko was having difficulty with her pregnancies. She kept having miscarriages and she and Yuuta really wanted a child. Yuuta begged for me to do anything to help them, but I had no spell to stop it, but I knew...Dragon would. So, I went to the Underworld and planned to steal a spell but...he found me and he..." Tears welled up in Kuzunoha's eyes but she did not need to finish her sentence, Kitsune knew what she was saying, and the idea made her blood run cold. "I was kept there for some time but eventually, I escaped and came back with medicine for Atsuko to keep her from losing a child." Kuzunoha smiled a bit but it did not quite reach her eyes. "It was worth it in the end. Yoshi was born, happy and healthy, and so were his parents. Then a few months later, you were too."
Kitsune looked down, sadly. Kuzunoha sniffed and wiped her tears. "Do you understand now? You can never see your father. If you do, there is no telling what he will do. He could turn you into a monster, like he did to me."
suddenly, anger flared up inside Kitsune and she glared at her mother. "You are not a monster, you never were! You lost your friend and fell for a demons lie and now, because of that, you can not even leave here!"
Kuzunoha groaned. "Kitsune-"
"It has been 500 years, mother! You do not owe this clan anything anymore! You served your punishment!"
"My punishment is life, Kitsune. It does not matter how long it is!" She stated. "But that is not fair! You made a mistake and you have scarificed so much for this clan!"
"I made a mistake that cost millions of lives, that is more than I have ever sacrificed!"
"But the blood of those lives is not on your hands! They are on father's and Koga's!" Kitsune argued. "Father tricked you! Lied to you and you are the only one who is being punished!"
"Enough, Kitsune! None of that matters. What matters is the reason why you want to see your father?" Kuzunoha demanded but Kitsune knew she could not say a word. Kuzunoha exhaled. "Perhaps I made a mistake of letting you train under our clan's power. Maybe it would have been better if you had stayed human."
"There you go again." Kitsune seethed. "Always assuming the worst of me. Always comparing me to you! I am not evil, mother!" Kuzunoha turned back to her daughter, to see tears falling from her face then she said in a sullen tone. "You have no idea, how much I wish that I could believe that, my daughter."
Kitsune flinched, like her mother had just slapped her. "Why...would you say that? What have I ever done to make you think that I am evil?!"
Kuzunoha did not answer and Kitsune looked at her in disbelief before scoffing and getting up to leave but- "Wait, Kitsune! There is something else I must tell you!"
"What?" Kuzunoha hesitated for a long time then, "You must promise to not tell a single soul, on your honor, Kitsune."
Kitsune did and then her mother sighed, "Saki...is not the biological child of the Hamto family." Kitsune looked at her shock. "What?"
"He is the son of Oroku Keiji and Oroku Miyoko, the two dangerous leaders of the Foot Clan." Kitsune continued to star in shock as she continued. "That curse I casted, as it turns out it has another generation to destroy...Saki has Koga's spirit in him."
"W-Why are you telling me this?"
"Because I know you have feelings for him and though Koga's spirit has not awakened yet, I still fear it might. I do not want you anywhere near Saki. I worry you will make the mistakes I made if you do."
Kitsune stood there completely frozen then she smiled, darkly. Kuzunoha looked at her confused until Kitsune said, in a broken tone. "I really love you, mother, even though you do not in return, I still...love you." Kuzunoha looked ready to protest but Kitsune would not let her, "I have always known, since the day I could remember that you have been ashamed of me. Scared of me even. I know that you never wanted me, but you still chose to take care of me, because you did not want him to turn me into a dangerous monster." She looked at her mother with sad eyes. "I have tried but thanks to you, I now know that is impossible. You will never see me or love me..."
"Kitsune, what are you saying?"
Kitsune just walked past her. "Goodbye, mother." Kuzunoha moved to go after but stopped herself. Guilt and anguish eating her alive. She truly was a horrible mother and a horrible person. She sniffed and looked up. "Aka...I wish you were here..."
...
In the woods,
Though in grief, Kitsune will not what just happened with her mother ruin today. She was finally going to tell Saki how she feels and ask him to the Spring festival. She could not wait! They have always gone to the festival together but always as friends and in a group. This year was different. They were all growing up into young adults and like every young adult, they were starting to fall in love. Kitsune chuckled as she remembered Usagi attempts to ask Akemi but always fails poorly. Chung I... well Kitsune does not know who he will go with. He is a mystery; she does not even know if he has a crush on anyone. Then of course, there is Tang Shen and Yoshi. Kitsune has a strong feeling that they will go together, if Yoshi ever let's go of his pride and admits his feelings that is.
As Kitsune walks deeper into the woods, she finally spots him. Saki was practicing some katas, looking handsome and as strong as ever as she made her way over. "Saki~" She song and Saki stopped halfway in his kata to look at her in annoyance. "What is it now, Kitsune? I am waiting for Usagi, he told me to come here."
"Oh! I told him to tell you that."
"What?"
"I got you a gift!" Kitsune announced before taking off her witch hat and pulling something out. Saki held out his hands and she gladly handed them to him. "They are new black razor-sharp gauntlets! I saw them while I was in the city and thought you would like them."
Saki looked uninterested in the gifts, and he sighed before tucking them under his arm. "Kitsune, we need to talk."
"Wait just a moment, I have something I want to ask you."
"Kitsune-"
"Just moment." She interrupted and Saki waited. Kitsune gave smiled to hide her nerves. "I was wondering, if you would like to go to the Spring festival with me?" The long silence Saki gave soon after she asked, made her fiddled a little nervously until finally, he said, "That is what I wanted to talk to you about."
"Oh?" Kitsune grinned excitedly, expecting this to be what she dreamed of, but Saki gave her a glare. "You need to stop with this foolishness Kitsune." Kitsune's face dropped. "What foolishness, Saki?"
"You know what I am talking about. Contently flirting with me, forcing me to go on dates whenever you have the chance and now, asking me to the Spring Festival when you know, my answer will obviously be no." Kitsune looked as though she got stung then lowered her gaze. "...but why not?"
"Must I really answer that?" Saki said, his voice steady and cold. Kitsune felt tears threatening her eyes, but she held them back. "What is that supposed to mean?"
Saki turned his back to her. "You are so pathetic Kitsune. You are so desperate for someone to love you that you refuse to see that I don't." Kitsune was startled by the seriousness and sternness in his tone as he spoke. "You force me in your games and treat me like I am your little toy. You purposely make me look like a fool in front of everyone."
"Saki...I-I was just having fun; I did not mean to-"
"Yes, you did." Saki accused. "You do everything you can to make me look foolish and make sure that you have my attention."
"Why would I-!"
"Because you know that I want to be with Shen, not you." He said darkly.
Kitsune did not say anything after that because it was true. She hated herself for it but she hated and envy Shen because she always got Saki's attention without even trying. Kitsune has loved Saki forever, since they were small but yet, Shen got his heart. She would try everything to try to make him jealous or force him to spend time with her, even though she knew that he was less than interested. All because she wanted someone, anyone to love her. Her mother was forced to love her, it was never really real, maybe a small part but not enough and her father, well, he just wanted an heir, he never loved her, no one little bit. Kitsune thought she would be alone forever and though Shen loved her, it still was not enough for her because Shen is loved by everyone, she does not understand the loneliness Kitsune felt every day. But...she thought Saki could. She remembered when she found him crying, because he felt like an outsider in his family, an outsider in the whole world...just like her.
...
5-year-old Saki was on his knees, crying into his little hands in the dojo. Suddenly, he heard a giggle. "Hello!" Saki lowly lifted his head up at the voice to see little Kitsune smile at him. "You are Saki-san, right? My name is Kitsune, I am Kuzunoha's daughter!"
She held out her hand for him to shake but he just turned his head away from her. Kitsune tilted her head. "What is wrong? Why do you cry?"
Saki sniffed. "You would not understand..."
"How do you know?" She asked while going to sit next to him. Saki looked at her, unable to understand why she was sitting next to him and talking to him. "Why are you talking to me?"
Kitsune shrugged. "Curious, I suppose."
"Curious about what?" Saki asked, confused.
"About you. You do not know it, but you are very interesting, Saki-san." Kitsune said brightly. "What do you mean?" He asked but she just put a finger to her lips. "I can not tell but let us just say that I am very interested to see what happens."
Saki still did not understand.
"So, why are you crying?" She asked again and this time, Saki did answer. "Because I think I am adopted."
"Oh? Why do you think that?"
"Because I am nothing like my parents or my brother...I feel like I am not like anyone else..." Kitsune frowned sadly at that and looked at him with mixed eyes. Then she said sadly, "I am not like anyone else either..."
"Really?" Saki asked hopefully and Kitsune smiled. "Yeah, I do not even feel human most times but, maybe that is because I am not."
"What do you mean?" Kitsune hesitated, thinking about telling him that she is has a fox yokai soul inside of her and that she is half-demon but, she knew she could not. Her mother would never forgive her otherwise. "Sorry, I can not tell you that either." She said with a smile then stuck out her tongue while giving a playful wink.
...
Now,
It was getting much harder for Kitsune to hold back her tears now as she remembered that day, like it was only yesterday. Since that day, Kitsune always was trying to spend time with Saki but, he never wanted to spend time with her, except for that one vulnerable moment. Maybe the reason he talked to her was because she was the only one there at the time when he was sad, not because he was interested in being friends with her.
Saki tried to take off, but Kitsune still felt the need to cling, to hold on just for a little while longer. She ran after him. "Saki, wait-!" Kitsune reached for him, but Saki swiftly turned and slapped her, making her fall.
She let out a painful grunt, touching her sore red cheek as she stared up at him shock. "You...hit me."
"I told you I am not interested in you!" Saki snapped. Once the shock waved off, Kitsune laughed. "Waht's so funny?!" Saki yelled.
"You say I am the pathetic one, Saki but you are just, if not more pathetic!" Kitsune said, smiling evilly. "I know that you never cared for me, but you are a fool if you think Tang Shen cares for you in that way! You know just as well as I do that the one she care- no, loves is Yoshi!"
Saki glared at her for that, his glare was dark and intents and made her blood run cold. Suddenly, she was reminded of her mother's warning. 'Was this...Koga?' Saki took a step forward and she backed away from him. "Do not touch me or else I will-!"
"Or else what?!" Saki cut off, his voice raging. Magic flared on Kitsune's fingertips and Saki glanced at it then scoffed. "You and I both know you will never hurt me. You know it is treason to harm the Clan Master's children."
"I will tell Yuuta-!"
"Like he would believe a witch instead of me!" Saki yelled but before he could do or say anything more, a sword was pointed at his neck. Saki looked from the corner of his eye to see Akemi. "Step away." She ordered and Saki relents and obeys. Akemi removes her sword then looks between them. "What happened?"
"Kitsune would not leave me alone." Saki replied and Akemi looked at Kitsune then back at him. "Did you hurt her?"
"No." Akemi looked unconvinced. "Kitsune, did he hurt you?"
Kitsune looked at Saki's eyes and when she saw him give a threatening look, she shook her head. "No." Akemi frowned and looked back at Saki only to see him walk off. When he left, Kitsune stood, and Akemi frowned at her. "Kitsune, if Saki hurt you-"
"He did not." Kitsune insisted.
"But I heard you two yelling, and you were on the ground!" Akemi kept pushing. "I fell." Kitsune lied but Akemi would not let it go. "Kitsune, please, I see the way he treats you. You should not be around him if he-"
"Why do you care?!" Kitsune finally snapped. "You do not even like me!" A guilty expression was on Akemi's face. "I-I do like you, Sue! I just-" Kitsune scoffed a laugh. "Please! You can hardly even look at me! You think I am just like the witches in those stories that you heard!"
"Kitsune, that is not true! I-"
"Just leave me alone!" Kitsune cut off before running away, leaving Akemi alone. She thought about running after her but stopped herself and went back home.
...
Kitsune spent her night alone in a cave, feeling alone and lost in the world until...someone found her...
(Different story that would soon be made after this one!)

Fukuoka,
Shen was sleeping peacefully under her covers when she was woken up by a weird knock on her window. She sat up and almost yelped when she saw Kitsune waving at her with a smile. Shen got up and opened the window. "Kitsune? What are you doing here? How did you get here?"
"It is not important; I just came here to say goodbye." Kitsune said simply as Shen stared in even more confusion. "Goodbye? Are you going on a trip?"
"No, Shen...I'm leaving for good." Shen frowned. "What?"
"I want to study more magic, and I have always wanted to explore the world, find out more about what it out there. I just believe it is time for me to go on my own."
"But...where would you go?" Shen asked.
"There is this old man who lives far from here. He seems to know about magic and all kinds of other thing, so I figured I would start there."
"What about your mother and all our other friends?" Kitsune frown briefly. "They do not know."
"Kitsune-"
"Shen." Kitsune interrupted then sighed. "I have to go." Shen gave a heartbreaking expression that the closet person she ever had to a sister was leaving but what kind of friend is she if she did not support her. Shen left and came back with money in her hand. "It is not much but it should help you get started."
"Shen, I can not take that-"
"I was not asking." Shen said sternly, placing the money in her hand firmly, refused to let her refuse. Kitsune relents and takes the money. Shen then jumps forward and hugs her which Kitsune returned. "Will you ever come back?" Shen asked, her voice creaking a little as she struggled to hold back tears.
"I do not know, maybe someday..." Kitsune said softly. Shen sniffed. "You will write at least, won't you?" Kitsune pulled back and smiled. "Of course." Shen smiled in return. "I know you will do great things Kitsune, and I hope you find whatever you are looking for." Kitsune's features softened. 'This is why I never can stay mad or hate you Shen...for you are the only person on Earth who ever sees the good in me.'
"Shen."
"Hm?"
"I hope the same for you." With that, Kitsune disappeared in a puff of smoke and Shen stared out sadly then smiled. "Goodbye, Kitsune and best of luck."
